Great job Dustin. I own the Autel Evo 11 pro 6 k, I had a hard time deciding, what Drone to buy, I know that DJI is the king's, but I thought it might be better, and easier, customer care service with Autel, my Mom lives in Washington, I also liked the built in oled screen, I have only flew my Evo over are 40 acres twice, I watch all channels that I can to leran, I always do firmware updates, I here alot of people that think the last firmware update is causing some problems, I haven't flown enough to tell, I live in MO I don't have the Big opened area's, I bought the Evo to help my freinds check there Dads and there's Big fields to make sure there fences are okay, because they have cattle, 300 acers is the biggest property, we have.160acers my grandfather left the family, we don't have cattle, I hope to learn mission's over are 40 acers, I love your reviews. I hope someday to own a DJI, I bought the Fimi2020, Ilike how it Flys, but if the Mavic air 2 had came out a little sooner, I could of came up with, 500 dollars extra. You made the right choice when buying this Autel Evo 2. I was in the exact same boat and you sound like me when I bought mine. DJI is the best of the best and thats all? Not anymore. Did you know DJI canceled the release of the mavic 3 at the beginning of the year because they were caught off gaurd by the Evo2 when Autel dropped it out of no where. So, yes DJI are kings in terms of sales and multiple drone platforms and patents. But as you said if customer service is something you value when spending a G or 2 then you made the right choice. So, you now own the best drone on the market. I feel the same about DJI, I might own one someday. Im betting that thought will fade away as time moves on. I flew my buddies mavic air 2 and while it is very nice I feel like if I had to decide I would only want the evo2. I like the remote on the evo2 how it has the oled display. That and how the Autel is just a heavy beast makes me not as worried when I see birds or experience a large wind gust or 2. Happy Flying brother

Trying to see the strengths of Evo especially since it has been levelling up its game lately but range and motor strength still questionable for me till now

40 minutes is with no wind, perfect conditions, and the right speed. Just remember that the more altitude you get the more is difficult to fly ( air density diminish with altitude, so propellers has more work to do ) also the more umidity there is the more difficult is to move propellers. For getting 40 minutes you need to fly in a dry area, as low altitude you can, and at the indicate speed. Hope it helped out

Ok that was a great flight and it does come close to the Mavic 2 Pro, however the Pro made it all the way to the landing pad. Nail biting moments there too. However could you have gone as far as the edge of the blue circle? The short answer is no with these conditions but maybe with no wind condition. Though I think the drone should be able to calculate the distance it can reach and adjust the blue circle. Not bad Autel.

@@justaguyfromreddit I know DJI are guilty of misleading flight times also. Infact all companys are. RC cars like traxxas and arrma all claim they do....mph out the box and never do. It annoys me so much. They should state real world results not made up bullshit. So in all those scenario's air density 0 wind height battery being perfect and weather temperature humidity day of the year and Jesus Christ himself at the sticks when is anybody ever going to get 40 minutes?? The answers no one. So they are liers. I reckon the only chance is in Bugatti's hermetically sealed lab where they assembly the engine without getting an atom of dust inside it. Maybe then Jesus Christ will see 40 mins flight time 👍
Awesome video. This drone is absolutely awesome. Thanks for pushing the envelope for us all to see what the evo 2 can do. I have had this exact drone now for over 2 months and I absolutely love it especially after all the latest updates. Cant wait for the new updates to come, very soon im sure. Glad your fpv lag straightened out after firmware and software updates. Again, great job and impressive performance from you and the Evo 2 brother. I will be watching for more videos on this drone. Nice video Dustin. Evo 2 Pro is very goed, also in distances. But distances are limited in Europa. I don't know if its automatic. I probably can't make 9 km.

It's crazy how far these have come. Such great rtf drones in today's market.
I got 3.5 miles in city but because of the battery, I needed to get back...but I was full power on my antenna.
Dustin! Yet another awesome range test! I love my EVO 2 Pro. I do quite a few range tests here in Kansas farmland country (very little WiFi interference), and the best I did was 22,042 ft. (4.174 miles). This is a great craft with DJI Ocusync performance! Keep up the excellent work! I enjoy your reviews so much!😃🛩......

I recently purchased a DJI Mavic 2 from Best Buy which I've opened the box but haven't done anything with it yet. I which I had known about the Autell because I actually would rather have it. Maybe Best Buy will give me some kind of a deal trading it in on the Autell since my Zoom is simply what is called a Open Box item. Excellent fun video.
@@theyard6958 I've had it for I think a couple of months so I'm hoping the manager would work something out where I don't get scalped. After all, it's not been turned on, charged, or registered so DJI will still treat it like it's new. I'm sure Best Buy will gouge me though because the box has been opened. I wish I had known about the Autel. It's a BIG bird.
I have the same buyer's remorse. If I knew about the Autel Evo 2 I would have purchased it over my Mavic Air 2 in a second. I tried to return mine, but I would have had to pay a 15% restocking fee.
Great job with the craft and its distance test! I just recently became an owner of the Evo 2. Haven't quite worked up the courage to test it out in this fashion yet.

Is Autel better than DJI? 🤔
Steve B Depends on what you want from a drone. If you want a drone with good obstacle avoidance, stable fly controls, capable of flying long distances as well as good photography ability. Autel is better currently. But for the cheaper drones with fair filming capability which is good for amateur and fly controls, DJI still the best, such as Mavic mini or Mavic air 2.
You and my brother are the reason I'm getting a Dji drone. Found your channel and sent it to him the video of the long range mavic mini test. He's like "Oh yeah, Dustin. I have a mini and some others." XD Didn't know he had a license. Going for mine as well. Great video man and greetings from Connecticut.

Dustin, I have the Evo and love it. Having an Evo and Mavic Air 2 I find myself reaching for the Evo. Personally I find it more reliable than the Air 2.
The Evo normally will fly farther than the Air 2 on any given day from the same location at the same time. Also, unless I'm missing something the Evo will do photos while shooting video. If the Air 2 will I've not learned how yet.
So, I was looking at the Mavic 2 Pro or the Evo 2 edition. Your videos have me leaning toward Evo 2. The range test was awesome and thoroughly enjoyed seeing you doing this video with your family.

Worth the money or maybe a build I should make that's would be cheaper just keep stab on I guess etc autonomy flights...my fixed wings f114 and inav have not been very compatible so I cant get my wing up since I put together the arwing since losing my disco parrot

Brilliant footage! Trying to get away from DJI, as their customer support is terrible. I had to send a Mavic 2 Pro away for repair. The are trying to charge me import duty on a repair back to UK from Holland. I have the Care refresh express also. Waste of time. Dont ever buy DJI, terrible terrible after sales support. HMRC stated there should be no charge. What are DJI up to? You'll never know.
I guess it depends on the country you're in. I've had great results for affordable repair and free shipping from them in US 🍻

Mavic Air 2. I/ we love it but, I get nervous if I loose sight of if for a few seconds. I yell to the kids, 'where is it, can anybody see it?!?! I can't imagine it being out of sight for more than 15 minutes. I'm wringing my hands the whole time yer drone is gone.
My God man, how can you do it??? The range test you did with my drone was particularly hard for me to watch. I must watch
the unboxing and first flight of the M A 2 again. There's still a lot I'm not sure about or am too nervous to try.

Have you found anything with longer range? I've seen where DJI Air 2S supposedly has over 7 mile range but no range test ever makes it half that far that I've seen. Even if it could, I dont feel like the batteries would make it. Maybe Autel will be my next investment.

That was awesome Dustin! I really want one of those and shelf the Mavic Mini for now. We visited Maui two years ago and stayed at a nice place along the west side near Kanapali beach. May have to take the metal detector next time and look for some gold jewelry.

Hey Dustin. I'm looking to get my part 107 and also looking to get a new drone. I'm torn between the Autel Evo 6K, Phantom 4 Pro vs 2 and the Mavic 2 Pro. The changeable camera on the Autel is what draws me to it. But I am so familiar with DJI since I have the Spark now. Any suggestions?
Sounds like a choice of portability. If you want portable and semi pro it's kind of a tossup between EVO 2 6K and M2P. Either would be excellent choices 🍻
The 6k is better for commercial use and better pictures with the 1 inch sensor.

Looking at the map, I realized the drone was absolutely no where close to being perpendicular to the beaches. Thanks for the map view. Gives true perspective of distance traveled in relation to how far the beach is.
I lost my first drone was spark in river, I give a mini to my brother even I love it... my Air is the only one I get left.. but any way I'm a chicken after I lost my first drone..😂... You got me fooled initially when you started of with the screen recording - thought you crashed it. Once I saw the video from the card I knew that you at least recovered the Evo. That drone is only limited by the battery capacity 👍🏽

Hi Dustin love your videos, just ordered a evo 2 pro..was torn between it or the mavic air 2 combo, managed to find the evo for only €200 more so went for it, now just gotta sell a kidney for some extra battery's lol. Will you be trying another range test on the evo 2? part of the reason i wanted it was the extra flight time..in a hover test i watched the evo 2 beat the mavic 2 pro by around 10 mins and i cant figure out why it would get beaten in a range test by so much..maybe the flight electronics use more juice or something?! either way i figured it would make for a good investigative follow up video as it might be better now its had some updates. how are you able to fly that so high isnt it illegal to fly over 400 ft im confused could someone clarify??
Legally, you can fly a drone in the United States 400 feet above ground level or 400 feet agl. If you were to fly from a mountain top that's 2,000 feet in elevation you can legally fly a drone from that mountain top up to 2,400 feet above ground level or 2,400 foot agl.
I'm pretty sure he was violating FAA rules...You can fly 400ft AGL. What he's doing doesn't look like 400ft AGL to me...He could have waivers..
@@kamuelalee No. You cannot fly a drone 2400ft AGL from a mountain without waivers...You seem to be confused at what AGL means. AGL at the summit is 0. You can fly 400 ft above that, when the mountain slopes down the drone has to maintain less than 400ft altitude from the surface directly below.
@@Cruz474 I should clarify: the mountain, typically, would be 2,000 feet MSL Once atop that mountain, you' could fly a drone 400 feet AGL above its summit, (technically you'd be at 2,400 MSL) and you'd still be within the law. There'd definitely be no waivers (from FAA) needed.
However, a problem might arise involving state or local laws (local government jurisdiction) which might prevent you from launching a drone off said mountain in the first place. Sadly, I've seen that a lot in the area in which I live.

Opinions are divided about the image quality but I dont really see how it's a strength of Autel. To be fair, I personally think DJI wins in that criteria.

Come back home in a angled descent. Its a great way to conserve battery.
Altitude from launch point wasn't that high. Battery savings in this instance would have been negligible.

Minimum voltage for lipo to keep good battery life is actually 3.3
I don't think these are LiPos. Probably LiIon
