I just recently purchased and Autel II Pro 6K Enterprise Bundle (includes the smart controller) with the charging hub and one extra battery (4 total). This is my first drone so there’s a steep learning curve, your video was appreciated and very helpful. Towards the end you were showing what appeared to be soft focus on your controller. I’m experiencing the same thing on the smart controller but discovered that when I download the images and view on my computer everything seems to be much sharper. I called Multicopter Warehouse in Denver where I bought the drone to see if they knew of any monitor settings, waiting for a callback. One very important thing they brought to my attention when I picked this up
Congrats on the drone...for sure lots to take in with that drone. I have to see what I was talking about....sometimes I get flickering which is really annoying on my Evo's....not sure why. Let me know if you want to see a video on anything in particular I can try and help.
Good to hear. I mean it’s relatively thorough I think and not sure why I’m experiencing some buggy behavior but people at least can see it’s happening.
I was about to drop the money for the Autel Evo II instead of wait for the M3P until you made me aware of the small bugs and remote deficiencies that Autel needs to be ahead of with new tech like the iPhone 12. Thanks my brother.
Hi. I have just received my EVO 2 PRO 6K yesturday and started to play around with the setting you where showing on this video. Do you have any video of night flight camera settings that you have maybe tried.
Hi, I also have issue with focus. My new Autel EVO ll Pro 6k drone would spontaneously go out of focus. I sent it back to Autel for service. Thy couldn't duplicate my out of focus problem and sent the EVO ll Pro back. They did do a firmware up date where the spontaneous out of focus problem is better, but not gone. I also have an issue when switching from Auto focus to Manual focus. The focus peaking on the side menu seems to work in manual focus, but then switching back to auto focus and then back to manual focus the bottom manual focus slide bar is no longer there. I have tried this with both Android and Apple mini 5 with similar results. Autel clearly has a problem with the focus control. You are not alone. I hope Autel gets this problem fixed soon. Good video!
Sorry, I hit send before I finished. One very important thing they brought to my attention when I picked this up was the emergency stop function. It’s the same control action to start the propellers, both controls down and inward. Very important to know for two reasons, #1 if for some reason you needed to stop the propellers in flight to limit potential harm to people or property. #2 so I don’t inadvertently do this during a normal flight. This may be common knowledge but being new to drone operation it wasn’t something I was aware of.
Excellent job here. Sorry to see all your struggles, I've never had that problem with the manual focus. Then again I'm on Android. If anything, your video really outlines how much preparation and knowledge it takes to capture good quality photos. You can't simply just launch and expect things to work out. And then add in the limited flight time with batteries. Thank you on highlighting the HDR photo mode. I would have never figured that out. Strange that it's limited to the smallest resolution, but I guess we always have AEB mode. Since Autel does not support caching of captured photos, the preview mode is a thumbnail version only. And that's why when you zoom in on photos they are pixaled. But as you stated, if you look at them on a PC/Mac, they look fine. Would love to see Autel add the cache support of photos in a future release. Thank you!
Glad it helped a bit and thank you for the feedback it helps. These videos not simple to make for me always because I can talk forever and go on and on. And then you have hiccups that you have to work around and explain and then you have 25mph winds that thankfully most can’t hear because of good mice and wind socks, but entire time I’m recording I’m wondering if junk audio or not. 😂🙈
Regarding sharpness and f/stops: Every lens ever made has an OPTIMUM aperture. Typically, that is 2-3 stops down from wide open. So for the Autel II 6K lens the optimum (sharpest) aperture would be f/5.6-f/8. Beyond that, something called diffusion comes into play. While depth of field increases with a smaller aperture, overall sharpness decreases as the lens is stopped down. On really expensive lenses, like a 7K Nikon for example, this loss of sharpness is miniscule. And BTW, those aperture numbers are actually FRACTIONS. So that the larger f/11 for instance is actually 1/11th. Aperture size, or F-Stop or Focal Stop, is based on the focal length of the lens-the distance from the optical center of the lens to the sensor or film plane. Taking our f/11 aperture example again, the f/11 indicates that the aperture is 1/11th of the distance from that optical center of the lens to the sensor plane.
Thanks for all the information. I shoot almost entirely video, but my recent testing with the E2P showed that low aperture settings (f/2.8-f/4) were the sharpest and high aperture (f/7-f/11) a bit soft. I imagine that would apply to still shots also. That would mean you need ND filters and/or high shutter speeds for the best shots. High shutter speed means you can get sharp shots even while moving.
I find that so odd that sometimes these drones and cameras/lenses are like that. One would expect f/11 to have more sharpness and depth of field than a f/2.8 obviously so weird. I’ll have to do some still testing tonight when I fly. I’ll keep u posted. Thanks for the info too. 🤙🏾
@@AtortAerials Abort Photography... Photography just in the name, a contemporary smartphone photographer... Sorry man for my sarcasm, but any real photographer, with a bit of a competence and experience, even an amateur should have the base of Photography knowledge. Never seen an optical chart with the curve of the resolution, varying with the diaphragm aperture? And also different from lens and lens and from a format to another format. All the lens in this world has the top of the resolving power in a position that is never at its minimum aperture, never! You can achieve a larger depth of field, but you begins to lose definition (particularly in the central area if the format is bigger than this very small 1" sensor) as you close the diaphragm above the gold point or the gold range of apertures, usually 2, maximum 3 stops/steps of diaphragm. For the small 4/3 and m4/3 format, typically is better to stay around f/4...f/5.6, not more with f/2.8 lenses, or more luminous. With a full frame sensor (24×36 mm) this gold range could be at around f/8, very rarely f/11, and only having bad cheap lenses, and old amateurish zoom lenses. But with a so small sensor of one inch and a good lens, you already have a very good resolution at its full aperture, f/2.8. Close down the aperture if you need to have a little bit more of depth of field, to have a better definition of subjects very close to the lens, few meters, and to infinity at the same time, but there is no need to set it above f/5.6, and during the flight is almost always pointless use a diaphragm smaller than f/4, if all the subjects are far, from 10 or 20 meters to infinity. Already at f/5.6 with this very small format, the lens certainly begin to loose a bit of definition, everywhere in the frame, because of the well known effect of the indesirable diffraction! Never seen and read of this, before? Here f/11 is a nonsense if your intent is to obtain more resolving power!

I would I not shoot photos in any color mode if that’s what you’re saying you did. Have that turned off so not in log or B&W or anything. I’m not even sure what that does to the RAW file. Just have it set to none and jpg+RAW and should be good. Let me know.
