Autel EVO Lite+ Review: Is it a DJI Air 2S Killer? (Yes, It IS!)

- The Autel EVO Lite+ offers great hardware, flight performance, and photo/video quality. It's in a unique position to compete with both the DJI Air 2S and the DJI Mavic 3 as it shares similar features between the two, but is priced more closely to the Air 2S. For less than $1600 the EVO Lite+ takes excellent photos and videos (even in low light), has long battery life and is easy to operate. Some features still need work, but the system is being regularly updated.

Nice thorough review! very helpful. I have a Mavic Air2 and as an upgrade I have been considering a 2s or Mavic 3 and I'm glad to see another contender. I'm pretty specifically looking for low light hyperlapse and the bigger battery. The lite+ is looking good to me!
I have the Lite+ & am pleasantly surprised with the 35 minute real flight time, its excellent dynamic range & colour science.
The auto night & super night video modes deliver outstanding results. This is where it excels over the Mavic 3 (I own a M3 too).
It is a great addition to my collection of drones.
Hi Paul…. Enjoyed your review. I am kind of a newbie to this hobby, but since getting my Mini2 in 10/21 I have acquired the Air 2S and recently the Evo Lite Plus. Still getting used to flying it, but it is an enjoyable UAV to watch and fly. Love the Orange- and very quiet in flight and even when hovering near by. I liked and subscribed, hope to see more from you. Thanks 😊.
I actually picked Air2S for portability, creative features like Mastershots and heard better reviews about flight performance
It's a great drone and at least for color and sharpness outperforms my Mavic 2 Pro. I'm hoping Autel can work out some of the bugs and quirks and add a few more features in the Sky App to make this an even better drone!

You’re welcome. Compared to my Mavic 2 pro, I was impressed. Flight time was big for me and I found video and photo to be on par mostly. Once they add some advanced picture profiles and settings and improve their tracking, this will be a big one for a lot of pilots.

B&H rocks! I’ve been getting so much of my camera gear from there lately. Awesome customer service that’s smart and actually knows what they’re talking about.
Must have missed this as they are back at $1849! Been looking at this and the A2S. B&H has a nice package on the A2S with pro controller for $1749 which is a great deal but I’ve been digging the EVO Lite + a littler more.
@@awnman1772 Yeah, I saw that. I’m glad I got it when I did. I considered the A2S as well, but I really prefer having the variable aperture!

I just had a shoot using the Autel lite plus during some rough weather. 23-30 kt gusts. The drone was far from people. I was amazed at the stability!! I was not able to maintain the exact yaw I wanted but only by a few degrees. This was an easy fix in post. At no point did I need to abort the flight as the drone was level, and stable. For the money I highly recommend the lite plus. During hyperlapse the drone is prone to disconnecting from the app. I wish this would be fixed but it is a very small issue compared to the robust features of this drone. Also this is a small thing but the included carry case is a major plus. I can take the drone anywhere with all the required kit and no need to find and purchase another solution.

The Evo lite plus is a decent drone and I want Autel to have continued success. More options and hopefully keeps the pricing down.
But a ’ killer’ , I can’t say that. The Air 2S biggest grievance is the fixed aperture. Ok but honestly it really doesn’t matter. It shoots amazing pics and vid’s. Not to mention it’s performance is amazing. The Evo lite + not able to shoot in log. Definite deal breaker. Get that added and is worth revisiting that drone.

@@arihantjain2432 Sure man, the 1 inch sensor makes a huge diference, as well as the Dlog 10 bit, and the 20mp in photos, you won't regret it trust me, I have over 170 flights with the 2S

From a photo perspective, do the raw files compare to Mavic 3? I don't do much video but I have an old Mavic 2 Pro and am looking to improve photo quality (raw, not jpeg)
I noticed in many presentation videos of this Dorne, that the images have many Flicks, similar to the Porpousing of Formula 1 (F1), would it be the absence of filters, or some problem of the Image Processing Software?

I’m actually on the way to sell my Mavic three right now to purchase this drone just not very pleased with the m3 I’m recouping most of my money thanks god !! Nice comparison!! Actually it looks like compares directly to the mavic three more than anything
What was your biggest complaint with the Mavic 3? I would love to really get the chance to use one for an extended period and compare it to my Mavic 2. I understand it has some improved low light performance, dynamic range, and of course flight time. That new controller looks like a big backstep, however.
@@paulAntill it’s lack of true color an how much post editing you really have to do to get it to look natural
I hate to fly with phone if came out with smart controller them it is defferent story plus it might cost $1k more than the 2s with smart controller them you will think go with Mavic 3.

They only get more expensive as you build them. Between my controller, GoPro, goggles, and drone batteries. I'm 670$ in on them alone 😂
For this level and price of drones, I think they’re still mainly for those looking to do pro work, which would help pay off its costs over time.
I like the Evo!!! But want waypoints and follow me!!! The air2s together with Litchi offers this!

Doesn’t fly as steadily. Gimbal moves too fast. Just not as high quality as DJI. But that is all of their drones comparatively
You can slow this down in settings. I have the smooth mode set for when I record. I think the speed for the gimbal is 3. This allows super slow pans. I can always speed this up during post. If I need motion blur for background footage I just speed it up a little.
Nobody needs 6k there is literally 1000 people in the Us that can even watch something like that.
No one outputs at 6K resolution - the point is that you can cut it in editing and zoom in while still maintaining 4K for the output project.

I definitely wouldn’t recommend this as a toy lol. Plenty of solid options if someone is looking for one of those.
