That's odd, I've never had a range/transmission issue with my Lite+. My experience with transmission/range has been quite the opposite of yours. I easily get 30 - 32 minutes+ flight times with the Lite+. The RC tends to be directional so maybe you weren't pointing the RC to the aircraft when you had a loss of transmission with aircraft.
You’re being way too nice to this drone.. I’ve had it for 6months and I have so much to say about this drone. I bought this for my business to have it as a backup drone in case my DJI goes crazy (which has happened) I also really wanted to use its night-time capabilities, but I’m very disappointed at that, the camera is great during the day, but at night, there’s no way to dial tune image manually, and that would be ok if the drone didn’t force you to use noise reduction, which is way over-done, I do a lot of Downtown Miami videos at night, and the buildings look blotchy, the colors overrun, windows look like they have cotton candy coming out of them, and details are completely lost all because the software on the camera tries to compensate for the noise. And don't get me started on the stability, it is horrible, this thing cannot fly in a straight line if its life depended on it. A drunk guy texting on his phone has more stability than this drone. Timelapse? do not even think about it if the wind is higher than 10mph, tracking is unusable, might as well fly it manually, but that also sucks because the controls lack fine tuning, the app is subpar (and that is being nice to it), the pro-app for the Evo2Pro is way better and what should have been used. On that note, no way-point missions (which was a huge plus of having an Evo2Pro instead of a DJI drone). The only reason why anyone would want to buy this it’s to avoid having to deal with DJI’s annoying NFZ, which I’m glad it exists because there are too many idiots buying drones, so I’m glad they’re buying DJIs who keeps them on-check If you want to get an Autel, skip this, spend a few more bucks and get the Evo2pro, it is older but a much more superior drone than this thing in every single category.
I am looking at the autel not because of budget but because DJI drones can be a pain in the dairy air in areas where flight approval is needed. I fumbled with the DJI app for twenty minutes today trying to get it to unlock my drone even though I was in G-Space. The app would not unlock because there was an airport near by. With each passing day flying my Mavic Mini, Autel is looking more and more attarctive .
The real question I’m interested in is how this stacks up to the Mini 3 Pro. Including the DJI RC controller, the Mini 3 Pro comes in at almost $1000 less and it looks like almost the same specs (except the 6k, which I’m not sure is that useful in the real world). Plus the 3 Pro has D-Log.
Very good review. You hit on a lot of the subjects I'm most interested in with this drone right now. Just ordered mine yesterday. Your video has made it even more exciting knowing what's coming. Background: been flying drones for over 4 years. My go-to for the last 14 months has been the DJI Air 2S. Don't get me wrong, I love that bird. But I'm starting to see some of it's limitations. I do a lot of low-light photography & videography. And the video end is where the Air 2S stumbles a bit. Thanks again for your insight.
Out of curiosity does your phone display dim while flying? I’ve used iPhone and Android and screen goes dim after a while. Not sure if there’s a setting to turn off
If anyone can offer advice I would be very grateful. I currently use 2 GoPro hero 10's for my RUclips channel which is for car reviews. I want my first real camera and would like two lenses to start off with, however I don't know where to start. I will be keeping my GoPro hero 10's for action shots (hood, roof, trunk, wheels). I want a great starter camera and lenses for pictures and video. Any suggestions?
Greetings, would you be so kind as to tell me if this drone has marking points for flight and cruise control, thank you for your videos and for your attention.
I mean, the DJI Mavic 3 is absolutely a better drone so I'd be more likely to get that. But I think you will eventually end up wanting or needing at least an extra battery and those are not cheap
As soon as the video started, I KNEW it was Puerto Rico, haha. Awesome, thanks for confirming. I'm considering getting this for my aerial footage for destination weddings here. Does the new update have geo-fencing included? I'm considering it because normally it doesn't come with any unlike DJI.
I haven't tested the latest update in a geo fenced area so I'm not sure exactly if it's as bad as DJI but apparently they did add some form of geo fencing
Ill stick with my Air2s and its hard to top Dlog 5.4k at 24 or 30fps fly more package which does 90 percent of what the mavic 3 does. I think autel is a great alternative however for professional work the Air2s is just enough to get the job done ✅
have been in the fence on this drone for a couple months. Does the log profile for video, on Auto shoots on 8 or 10 bits? otherwise I think Air 2s still has some edge over the the Autel.
It is still 8 bit although the 8 bit seems to hold up really well for 8 bit....it isn't always apples to apples. For example, 8 bit Sony video files have no where close to the room of 8 bit video from Panasonic, Canon and Nikon. Even my 10bit Sony video files still struggle in the shadows quite a bit. I never felt like I needed 10bit until I switched to Sony and then for some reason those files fell apart so fast, I wanted 10bit for everything haha!
@@redwolf_media If you tend to grade with a magenta/teal grade, absolutely lol. I mean the video from it looks great but it almost looks graded right out of the camera and there's no adjustment. Not a bad thing as long as you are ok with the look. It works well for landscapes though so I'm guessing that's what they are going for...very punchy magenta/teal look. And hopefully they add LOG to the pro mode!
Appreciate the unbiased review, but I’ll hang onto my Air 2S. The lack of Dlog in Pro Mode simply sounds crazy to me. Along with the heftier price tag, I would figured side sensors were a given. Although I’m not a range pilot, having the ability or at least the comfort of mind knowing the drone has a sound transmission system makes a huge difference imo. Lastly, we’re all aware that the lack of side sensors on specific DJI products cause great concern for crashes as it pertains to Tracking. However, when flying in certain settings, the software works pretty darn well. Again, great review & video
Mini 3 pro is pretty quiet with master airscrew. Lite + is louder but kinda quiet 4 its size. Captain drone mentions it's not that loud too. From memory autel lite I think quiter than air series.
Fantastic review! I'm prepping to by my first drone, so I'm watching as many reviews as I can to narrow the field. I keep coming back again and again to this specific drone. I wonder if Autel does any Black Friday pricing? If they do, I'm in!
I was about to say there’s NO WAY ! You filmed this in Florida , the biggest hill you will find in Florida is a sand castle at the beach lmao ! Great video tho I appreciate the review ! Also why didn’t you record in el Yunque ? Would have been the most ideal / perfect place to record & definitely epic shots
Hahaha...definitely not FL. I might live here but not for the landscapes lol. I literally only had 1 day to travel around PR to get some content with the drone so I spent some time around the north side where I was staying and then hit that main road down to the South side getting anything I could find along the way. Good to know about el Yungue though!!! I'll definitely hit that up next time
Bro my 6k footage doesnt look anything like the videos you posted here, not even close. Granted I am new to high-end drones coming from an old parrot Bebop 2 so maybe I need to learn more about the settings, but my footage and I am filming in auto, it looks grainy and no where near as cinematic and clear as yours. I also don't get anywhere near the range advertised by Autel. In the city if I am near houses/business I am lucky to get a mile...
So I was also a bit limited by range but quality is definitely dependent on movement, settings, editing, and quite a bit more. It's like buying a Lamborghini and being disappointed you don't get the same lap time as they did with an experienced race car driver
@@learningcameras That makes sense. My primary motivation for upgrading was increased range because I fly over a lot of places that don't let you launch from inside the property but allow you to fly over the property provided you launch from outside. Was really hoping for at least a three or four mile range but at this point I haven't even got two miles but I'm going to keep experimenting with it. I own the EVO lite, Air 2s and the new Mini 3. EVO is 50% more expensive than the Air 2s. A better comparison is the EVO 2 Lite vs. the Mini 3. EVO Lite has a very narrow field of view which is hard to get used to. Mini 3 is better in low-light than the EVO 2, even when using the night modes. Mini has longer flight time too. I would say the Mini is the better drone at half the price
The Evo 2 Pro does have a few improvements especially with video, the remote, and range. Nothing earth shattering but I do have a full review on the Evo 2 and preferred it to the Mavic 2 Pro. Obviously the Mavic 3 beats it but it also costs more
