Is The Ultraview Button Still Worth Purchasing?

- I've had possession of the Ultraview Button now for 6 months. Is the release living up to the hype? Is it still worth purchasing? As a first attempt at a button activated release aid I think Ultraview did a good job. But, there are somethings I believe they can improve on for future generations. Like anything else in archery it all comes down to comfort and your shoot ability of a product. If you like it and shoot it well, who cares what it is. My answer though is, Yes I still believe this release is worth its price. After owning the button and shooting thousands of arrows through it I still like this release and will continue to keep shooting it and carrying it with me into the wilderness.

** UPDATE **
Since the drop of this video I have been in contact with Ultraview. I was informed because I received a release from the first batch which went out to RUclipsrs like myself, the issue with the looseness in the thumb barrel has been addressed and remedied. I have a replacement release coming and I will update the channel as soon as it arrives.
For a 300$ release there shouldn’t be any issues
Glad to hear UV took care of you. Great customer service!
how sloppy is your hook?
@@boydfowlkes just replied to your other comment. I would contact Ultraview. They might have a better answer/solution for you
U can also take it apart and put some lube on sears I also polish all contact point on all my releases just use some buffing compound on a strop like a knife doesn’t take material off just polishes so there super smooth and crisp like a expensive trigger
Thanks for the long term review. I just bought one and have a couple of hundred shots through it. So far, I love it but definitely see the light gray finish being delicate.
Already an awesome video 12 seconds in! You had me at "coffee."
Loving my UV button much like you, the seamless transition between it and the hinge 2 is worth the investment imo.
Bought one few months ago and it’s awesome no problems so far
Best thumb on the market. I'd put it against my Truball Blade Pro any day
Just purchased mine today, so I’ll let ya know 😂
Been waiting for the Large UV finally I am getting closer to actually trying one.
I’m a little put off on the finish and looseness of the thumb assembly. May look a little harder at the XL Onnex .
I use a Stan sx3 had it for 3 years looks like brand new, gets a lot of use no problems whatsoever.
Being one of the most expensive releases out there wish the UV was a little better made..
I got off the phone with someone from Ultraview today. I was sent one of the first batches to get released and since then they have fixed the thumb barrel issue. I was assured this was a problem with the first run of releases and was quickly resolved and that it has been taken care of. I will be receiving a new one here shortly and will immediately update the channel when it arrives. UV always has had great customer service if you ever run into an issue.
I can vouch for the finish on both versions of the UV Buttons (I have one of each) being extremely weak. They should have stuck with anodizing over cerakoting (or find someone who knows how to apply it correctly). I don't know with what the stainless is coated, but mine has a "battle worn" look after 6 months.
As for the play in the trigger stem, UV seems to have addressed it by either increasing the thickness of the trigger stem or decreasing the width of the opening in the casing by a thousandth or so. My aluminum UV Button was purchased during the Black Friday sale and it has no play in the trigger stem.
So they are listening to us, which is nice.
Dialed archery should also find someone who knows how to apply cerakote as well, worst finish I’ve ever seen.
Since this video dropped Ive been in contact with Ultraview. The issue has been resolved and a new release is coming my way. I was part of a group that received releases from the first run of them. Shortly after they resolved that problem. I have a replacement coming and I will update the channel accordingly.
I love mine. Two months and approx 2k arrows and zero wear. Mine lives in an AJB holster so that may help.
I've owned two of these, my first one the travel and sensitivity screws kept backing out so I contacted them and they replaced it zero problem. My second release from them the screws stayed tight, but the them arm and button screws kept moving even after tightening. So I had to drill the arm hole thru and tap it deeper and then tap the threads in the button deeper as well. I love the release, but in some areas I feel like they prioritized form over function.
I haven’t had that issue but I can attest their customer service is second to none. That’s very important to me.
@@jeffcordero_ their customer service was 10/10 can not complain about it at all
the Perfex by Stan cannot be beat IMO. I need to try one
I have the same one. Much better quality and adjustability. This is an expensive/cheap knockoff
The Perfex and the Carter 1st Choice are both unbelievable IMO.
My UV button also had wiggle in the trigger bar. I contacted UV and they took care of the issue. Might be worth your time to contact UV customer service.
Waiting for the Large version to drop so I can finally try one out!
They just released them not long ago.
@@jeffcordero_ I think you can only preorder them at the moment. Supposed to be available around early March I thought I read.
@@keystonestatebowmen3128 ohh my bad. Well march then lol
The setting (travel & force) changed bit by bit as i shoot... not sure anyone experience that as i did.
It changes from hot to cold (travel) and from light to hard (resistance).
I love love love the body to feel everything about it besides the spring tension you cannot take the bastard out enough preaching really wrap your thumb around the barrels before the shot brakes it's a super hairy ass trigger I talk to Colby Handley and ask them if they would sell or possibly change the spring so you can get better attention but don't look like they're going
I had issues with the jaws not closing completely, after locking and cocking and on draw back, as i twisted my palm from facing the ground to having the back of my palm against my cheek, then the jaws would have enough slack and release the D loop causing a misfire. Has anybody else had this issue. ?
User error
I like the UVs…..can’t beat a Stan imho though.
Stan’s are great
Still digging my GOAT
Are the additonal Brackets (2 /4 finger) compatible with the hinge 2 ?
I was able to put my 3 finger attachment from my hinge onto the button as a test. I would say yes, but I’d confirm with UV.
@@jeffcordero_ thank you for your effort.
@@darqueING confirmed from UV today that the Hinge 2 attachments will fit the button
Mine has the slop and I have only used mine a little
Contact Ultraview. Their customer service is great and I bet they will take care of you.
Does this release change your draw length
The release won't change your draw length... It will change your anchor slightly and make it feel like your draw length is too long, but for me the longer I shoot a UV release I find it comfortable and all other releases feel like my draw length is short.
I was breakfast for dinner?
If I were to suggest anything to the engineers, it would be to shorten the neck. Don’t make people change their d-loop length just to shoot your release.
Also, include the 4-finger attachment with it. Stop being cheap.
I agree with both of these suggestions!
Maybe I'm a fucking caveman but I just can't quit using my like mike 2 index release
as long as you shoot it well it doesn't matter!!
@@jeffcordero_ you got a good point
Overpriced. Never worth it.
Does it come ever come loose thinking of buying one
I'm not sure what you are referring too... If your concerned about the thumb barrel coming loose go watch the update video I posted
