Release heaven at Carter enterprises. The amount of releases Carter has come out with is incredible and the fact releases 15 years old are still relevant goes to show the quality and pride that goes into every Carter release. Thank you Elk Shape for the tour of Carter
Been a fan of Carter releases since 2006. They are all I own and shoot. This is one of the most informative video’s on Carter releases, that I’ve seen. Awesome job Dan!
I always like seeing behind the scenes,... the quality control and how things work and are put together, etc. And I like the idea of supporting small business (especially from the state where I grew up).
I’ve been shooting a BK/Target 4 for over 20yrs…I’ve always appreciated their simplicity, ease of maintenance and dependability. The interview was great!
It’s so cool to see how these releases are made and what goes into them. Thank you ElkShape for putting a behind the sense video out for all of us to enjoy. Keep up the great work!!!
Damn that purple POPS actually. Was that the “whisper 2” as well? And I didn’t hear if he said it or not but can you use a strap with the Whisper? I’m shooting a Scott Pursuit right now and I like it, but the thumb button is way too little and you can’t upgrade to a bigger one. I’m going to upgrade my release eventually… hopefully! Edit: I love that dude’s mindset honestly. Doesn’t patent it because he’s already had so much stolen from him, he’s basing his success off sales and others taking his idea to their own release (wouldn’t even name drop the company that took his idea from him). Yeah, I’m going to have to get me a Carter when I upgrade. This guy is pure American and does business right. He’s earned our money over companies like Tru-Ball. It’s a “Too Simple” by bad, commented before I finished the last 20 sec.
Is this dude the release whipserer!? I cant believe how easily he just rips those releases apart and puts em back together. I know they are just a mechanical object, but to the laymen they are a mysterious magical object. Awesome show, awesome to see. Thanks Dan!
After 10 years I finally got my Chocolate Addiction. It took so long as life had other plans. I’m getting back into archery and I’m slowly building what was once my dream build. For the old designs to endure and for new designs to come out, speaks volumes of the quality of engineering and dedication of the team.
I had been shooting a 4 finger thumb button release for a couple of years and really struggled to not punch it. At times I would miss my 36x36 target completely because I got so bad with the hammering the thumb from target panic. I went back to the index and was slamming nock again. My wife took a liking to that release so it gave me the excuse to get another one so I picked up a Carter thumb and first shot I took with it was at 60 yards. I couldn't believe it... the dang thing fired off and it actually startled me because I wasn't expecting it. A dang thumb button actually firing like it should! I took a second shot.... dang near broke a nocturnal at 60 yards and heard the shafts slap in the target. Once again startled because I just had to pull through a little bit and off it goes almost as If it was a pure back tension. So now the wife is trying to "share" that release since she knows stealing it would not go over as well as last time. So... winning sure would be a big help to resolve that!
Jerry is a class act. Good ol boy right there... truly living the American dream. Made a living following his passion!.. awesome video Dan!.. thank you! 👍👍
Outstanding information provided. Never knew there were so many different options in the Carter releases. David makes release tear down, cleaning, assembly and adjustment look easy!
The history and knowledge that is at Carter Enterprise is fascinating to listen to and be able to see the small details in their releases blows my mind
I’ve been using Carter releases since 2000. Absolutely love them! Mr Carter and his crew are the Trailblazers of the release aids! Awesome vidja Dan-o 👍🏼
been shooting a Nock 2 it for the past few years, really liking the look/function of that "Like Mike 2" !! Thanks Dan @ElkShape for always bringing the dope stuff to light!!
Super awesome to see how they are made and to watch him work on a older one. Love Carter’s releases. Used to own two Chocolate Addictions. Had to sell them to pay the bills 5 years ago.
The wise choice was my first love when it comes to a handheld release, something about it is just pure nostalgia for me. Would love to have a crazy colored wise choice!
I always new Carter was a great release but watching this and listening to the podcast. I love them even more for their values! Awesome job documenting.
I’ve shot the rx1 for many years and I love that thing! If I ever jump to the world of thumb button or hinge releases you can bet that Carter would be the first I would try. Thanks for the inside scoop Dan!
Wow! That dude knows his stuff! Excellent video to give us a good look at a company renowned for their quality releases. Wish I could try everyone of them!
As a machinist I like that he used a tap to make the hole tighter for the pins. Could of also used that press and a ball bearing so he wouldn’t have to file off a burr. This is good content for the archery community. Love my wise guy release.
Carter makes great releases and has great customer service. A few years ago I made a mistake and broke my release two weeks before elk season. They rushed the repair and had it back to me in like new condition without even charging any extra rush fee. I’m a customer for life. Great people, great service, great products.
Honestly didn’t know much about Carter releases before this video, but now interested in getting one to try out. Plus live in Northern Utah and always good to support localish business. Thanks for the video!
Great to see the history of Carter Enterprises and the passion they have to creating the best releases! Whisper 2 looks like a game changer!! Team Carter!!
Love these “field trips “ never used a thumb release yet looking to get one this year but need a sight instead. Plan on picking one up for next year and have come to respect your opinions on gear. You do a great job of keeping us informed and inspired thanks my man.
I have wanted to try a back tension release. I just got back into bow hunting I try to shoot every day. Really like watching your content it helps I didn't realize how far down the rabbit hole you could go with archery lol
Great video Dan. This one was super educational in both history and the inner workings of a release. For me being a visual learner this helped tremendously.
Man I need to step up my game and get a hand held. I'll think it's best to wait till after this season ends, though. So I'm not adding to the already enough pressure that a hunting season brings. Get one after the season and go full bore crazy learning how to properly shoot one. Thanks for bringing us along on the tour and the incredible interview.
Carter releases rock! I run the RX1 and the heavy trigger pull definitely helps to calm nerves when I can wrap my index finger around the trigger. Cool to see behind the scenes.
Superbly Excellent And Awesome! That’s what it’s all about, passion and desire for our great sport and community and making great products! Was so fun to see the guys and guts and glory of Carter enterprises and releases, especially for all of us who love to tinker lol, so cool! loved the content, and more like that would be sweet, the American Dream! Keep it up Elk Shape! Send Em! 🏹🏹🏹 22:50
Awesome video. I love my Carter thumb release and enjoy this kinda content behind the scenes of the quality of work that goes into making them. Makes me appreciate the value of my release even more.
I bought 2 big kid 3ds in 1995 been using them ever since along with a couple of Lockjaw index releases. Lost one of the big kids in the woods for a year. Got a spring kit from Carter, buffed and polished everything and went back to shootin it. Excellent quality and built to last.
My very first handheld release was a Carter and I have loved it!!! Unfortunately for me though two years ago in the elk woods I clipped it into my bowstring before I made the stalk and when it was time to draw back my release was no where to be found... I searched for the rest of the day for that release and I never found it. I have gone back and looked in that same spot the last year and still haven't found it... so it would truly mean a lot to have a new one to cherish and hopefully never lose!!!
I love that Mr. Carter doesn’t waste money with lawyers and just keeps making GREAT releases!!! I’ve shot the same trigger release for 20yrs. and the only thumb release I’ve thought about buying is a Carter Wise choice. After seeing this, I think I will !!
Great video guys, I switched to a Carter wise choice 2 years ago and no looking back awesome gear , extremely happy with it. Counting days until the elk are calling
My Chocolate Addiction is still one of my favorite releases and I would love to add another Carter to my collection! What a cool company and awesome guys. Thanks for the tour!
I'd love to win that hand held!! I've been shooting now for about 2 years, always a trigger release and really want to try a hand one. What a great opportunity to give subscribers. Great vid, really liked seeing the modifications on naming the trigger have more tension.
12:39 eastern. Great information on releases, thank you. Been struggling trying to find the release to help with punching and getting control of the shot process. My endeavor is to make only ethical shots on game with confidence.
I have only ever shot index finger wrist strap because I had no idea what would be good for me to try. The info presented made me much more comfortable to find a thumb release. Thank you
Man thats awesome the way that they break down the cleaning and repairing of the release!
Release heaven at Carter enterprises. The amount of releases Carter has come out with is incredible and the fact releases 15 years old are still relevant goes to show the quality and pride that goes into every Carter release. Thank you Elk Shape for the tour of Carter
Humble and honest people with great ideas and a top notch product.
Been a fan of Carter releases since 2006. They are all I own and shoot. This is one of the most informative video’s on Carter releases, that I’ve seen. Awesome job Dan!
🙏👊🏼
Good to see all of the good people over at Carter showing the behind the scenes
I always like seeing behind the scenes,... the quality control and how things work and are put together, etc. And I like the idea of supporting small business (especially from the state where I grew up).
I’ve been shooting a BK/Target 4 for over 20yrs…I’ve always appreciated their simplicity, ease of maintenance and dependability. The interview was great!
Really enjoyed the deep dive into Carter releases. What a transparent company to show all this behind the scenes. Awesome!!
Love his business mindset on obsoleting himself. Been looking at a Carter for a while
Excellent content. Really cool to see where these releases come from and how much they've evolved. Nice work
I dig the purple! I have always had nothing but great luck with Carter!
It’s so cool to see how these releases are made and what goes into them. Thank you ElkShape for putting a behind the sense video out for all of us to enjoy. Keep up the great work!!!

Super awesome! They seem like a bunch of really good people over at Carter.
Thanks for taking us behind the scenes, fun to watch.

@@ElkShape you're welcome sir.
I’ve loved my Carter Whispers since day one. Still love them.
I have 2 Carter's now bulletproof.
Great behind the scenes and history of Carter Enterprises shoot with the Quickie for the past 12 years and it still works great
Man I'm glad I watched this! I have a worn out wise choice that's collecting dust because the action is loose. Time to try this tap trick!
I’ve been using Carter releases since 2000. Absolutely love them! Mr Carter and his crew are the Trailblazers of the release aids!

I might have messed around and found the best archery content channel. Dans awesome, and he’s killing the bank account. Thanks Dan 😂
I bought a Carter Only hinge release from a shooting buddy a few months back. It's my first hinge release and I absolutely love it.

I'd love to win that hand held!! I've been shooting now for about 2 years, always a trigger release and really want to try a hand one. What a great opportunity to give subscribers.
