I’ve got the uv2 hinge and absolutely love It. Going to be saving up for the button. UV puts out a good product. I know a lot of people hate on them and the prices are a little outrageous but for me to keep a consistent anchor and switch between the two without an issue I’ll spend the money. Thanks for the video!
I hear that and thats why i bought the Silverback and Nock2It years ago and im jus glad they both were like 200/250 bucks cheaper total loll i sold my hinge first gen and thankfully got good money for it but i jus didnt like how super light and noisy it was
@@MichiganAmBushOutdoors yeah, haven’t used a wise choice and obv both made by Carter but my buddy just got the second gen one with better internals and no travel adjustment, just trigger tension and i wish they had that one in “gold” (more like champagne colored) when i bought mine, its slickkk. Although mine were all only 200 at the time. The 2 smooth is very nice also, even tho they hit just a slight bit different. The long neck affecting the draw making it shorter i can see be frustrating. Im at 29.5” and still wouldn’t want to give up that 1/2”
I agree, my anchor point is back too far now. I pull 30.5" so I will still have good speed at 30", but it will mean re-dialing in my sight and that's a whole process. Other than that, the UV is the best release I ever had. I really didn't expect it to be as good as it is. Maybe over time it will go down in price
I have the nock2 it and really like it but just purchased the UV in stainless and absolutely love it. Yes your draw length is a tad longer but I was able to adjust for it and shoot hood groups at a distance. It would be nice in the future if they were to shorten the neck a little but their are other ways you could shorten the draw length without changing the mods. I shortened up my d loop a bit and that made it feel better. I may change my let off next if I'm not happy enough with the d loop. Great detailed video thanks for taken the time to share this.
@Michigan AmBush Outdoors so I'm shooting the Matthew's V3X and I'm a 28.5 dl and I have 80 mods if I dropped it down to 75 it would shorten it up a little but my holding weight would increase because the cams won't be rotating as far back if that makes sense. I'm still contemplating on doing that or going with 28 mods. I'll have to get more reps in before I make that decision.
@Michigan AmBush Outdoors not sure where you are located but lancaster archery is one of the best shops anywhere if you were to give them a call they could set you up. They would be able to give you the right information and supply you with the correct left offs or other options. I just know about this from guys there and my buddy that has been shooting since he was a little kid. Give them a call and let me know if that helps
I’ve become so used to this one. It fits my hand perfectly. I like the closed loop style of holding where my thumb rides deep hooked over the knob and it touches the release slightly. For me this is more repeatable than having thumb sticking out and riding on the knob kinda hanging out in space lol. This closed loop gives me maximum control I feel. I am in complete control. I use a very relaxed handso when I pull thru it doesn’t take any hand finger tension change but just pulling straight back until it pops. Honestly, I tried the closed loop because of a video of Joel Turner of IQ fame. After a months of serious, very uninterrupted, shooting my ability to shoot long distances ( for me 80 yards) so much accurately than ever. I have never shot at any animal past 55 yards and that was a coyote and haven’t ever shot a course that needed shoopast 60 yards.
I love my wise choice, but I started shooting a hinge this year, and every time I go back to the WC, I keep wanting to shoot the hinge For that surprise release every time. Recently I tried shooting the WC the same as the hinge, and my accuracy significantly improved.
@@MichiganAmBushOutdoors I’ve used a Total Control hinge for 3-d but not hunting. Because of the way I use WC it get the same down range results. When I do everything right it will fire unexpectedly as it can get. I know it’s going to fire if I just keep pulling thru the shot. But if anything goes wrong I can easily and more safely stop by just pulling my thumb off the knob. Like when a deer suddenly turns wrong while I’m into the shot cycle. It’s harder to control a let down with a hinge.
I've never hunted with a hinge, either. I might take a few does in the early season with it to see how it goes, but from the sounds of it, I shoot the WC the same way. Just place a little pressure on the thumb peg and pull until it breaks.
I shoot v3x 33 in 27. I was gonna buy the uv button just now until I heard about the long neck. Dang man that sucks. I shoot a trufire synapse, and an uv hinge. They are great and all just wanted something new.
@robertbatista7164 yes. The wise choice has been my favorite release for a long time. This year, I switched to the Carter Too Simple, which is the same release, just with a shorter neck, which allowed me to increase my draw length by .5”. The UV is an outstanding release, but because I have a shorter draw length, I didn't run it because I would have had to decrease my draw length.
No comparison I have the nock 2 it, the goat, abyss, UV button and UV hinge 2. The goat comes close but the UV button is just more crisp, less creep and just an overall more comfortable better fit release. Love the hinge for keeping my shots honest. I like to start practice with the hinge and go to town with a button. The carter is over priced compared to the other two.
I picked my Carter wise choice up for 220, which is what the Nock2it goes for, but with that said, I think the Nock2it has better quality control and a better trigger. I picked up a Truball HBC hinge, and I love that release. It was a tough transition, but now I shoot it super well. Thanks for watching!
Some corrections, i used to have both carter wise choice and carter mini evolution, there is no anchor point difference and impact shift to the arrow on target
I think not having a set screw is going to be a serious flaw. My buddy got his in and pulls 82 pounds with his bow and after about 500 shots hes getting constant creep. Hes gonna email ultraview and see what they say. Idk if they heavier holding weight is making it worse or if he just got unlucky but we will see.
@@Doober560 my buddy is getting a new one as well but i honestly feel like its gonna be an issue. I dont think the creep is from a faulty part i think its from the design. Was really thinking about getting one when they came out with the Large size!
Do those adhesive patches you have placed in the finger grooves for extra grip on the Wise Choice come with the release? Or is that something you purchased and installed separately? If so please link it! Thank you!
What material do you put on the finger grooves of your releases? Skateboard grip tape? I've noticed it in a few of your video's, which have been great btw. I enjoy the thoroughness of your comparisons. Thanks.
The uv definitely feels better for me. I just got the Tru ball trident pro flex and I like the feel of the uv button much more. From the button itself to how the overall body feels in the hand. BUT, I had to get rid of it because of how much it changed my anchor point. It just felt so awkward. At 27.5 I am not going shorter. What shame that this design was made this way.
Great review! Looking to order my first thumb release and have a question about the WC size. I have smaller hands for a guy and have heard the WC is for medium to large hands. But I've also heard of some smaller-frame women using it. No local shops currently have the WC, so can't really try it out. Some of the features of the WC look good for a first thumb release, but do you think it wouldn't fit right for an average to small man hand? Also looking at the Just Cuz (no wrist strap or auto-close). Could also buy and return, but would be nice to avoid that. Thanks!
Thank you. I have small hands as it is a little big but in no way uncomfortable. You could also check out the NockOn Mini if you are concerned about it being too big. It's the same release as the WC but it's a two-finger vs. a three-finger.
Is the medium size UV Button/Hinge about the same dimensions/size as the Carter wise choice? Afraid the the finger holes might be a bit small for my hands, as I shoot a wise choice now.
The med is a little smaller but not by much. You can always try it and if it's too small, UV has a 14-day window to try it out. If you don't like it, they will give you a 100% full refund.
I have a NockOn Silverback and I didn't have any issues or notice that it was harder to draw vs. my carter wise choice but it is always worth trying another release.
You really helped me make my mind up on. The UB button however I didn’t know completely that it would change your draw length I figured but I appreciate the info I just subscribed I am also I fellow channel but nowhere in the ballpark of you lol 😂 best luck of 23 season

You could just get use to a different anchor position and keep the draw length the same. As long as the string is hitting all the references correctly, that's the most important thing.
Unfortunately because of my shorter draw length, I am already squeezing as much as I can. The UV put my anchor point behind my jaw and causes a little pressure in
