I’ve always had to hunt public land. The amount of people that think every 1-2 year old buck they shoot that’s not a 150-190 is a “management buck” is unreal. Then they think these bucks are mature, just small bodies like the rack. 🤦♂️
It's because they need a experienced hunter to hunt with to hold them off. They learn for us veterans in the field of hunting. They have nothing to compare a small buck to. They get to horny and pull the trigger. Only to hold a 2.5 year old super buck 😢
I couldn’t agree more I grew up in east Texas and never saw anything for years maybe one doe a year so I would watch the old monster buck hunting tapes and dream of a buck walking out in front of me so when the time came and a buck finally came out the buck fever was unbelievable I thought I was hooked on hunting until I shot my first buck and that’s when the obsession took over and now I own 250 acres in Missouri and pass bucks that I never dreamed of passing and last year I took my daughter hunting for her first deer and we hard hunted and something went wrong every hunt and it was frustrating but ended up being a blessing for God bc by her not getting one last year all she talked about was going hunting a killing her first deer all off season she helped me plant food plots and hang cameras so long story long she is hooked now and I wonder would she be as hooked had hunting been easy last year one more funny part to this essay lol is the last evening of rifle season my daughter and my dad and me were hunting over a alfalfa field and finally had a doe in range were she was comfortable taking a shot and she gets the gun up and gets aimed in about to shoot and the deer started blowing and ran and I’m in shock bc this deer was all but dead well it was pretty close to dark and I look back and saw why the deer freaked out and it was bc my dad was videoing from his phone and didn’t realize he had the camera light on 😂 that was the kinda stuff that happens last year but again I think it ended up a blessing
I talked with a whitetail photographer that follows deer for years in non hunting areas. He says he's seen a few have their best year at 9.5 -10.5 after a swing down at 7.5 and 8.5.
Good interview, love hearing Lee’s story. They worked hard to get to where they are. Congrats to them on the success. Btw, you should leave your phone alone during the interview.
To go from Quiting your job in Minnesota and moving to Iowa and then starting a TV show. Now to have over a dozen farms 5000 Acres .Talk about perfect timing for Lee a Tiffany. I don't think you can do what they did in 2024. With land prices now/TV show #
Fine and dandy. "But" you need the acreage, and here in WI, lands not for sale, most have their 40-80 acres, and shoot anything two years old. Plus with our DNR, and the so called, CWD, there is NO feeding. You all would be in a different world, if feeding wasn't allowed...
With the deer that was on the other farm. Wondering why it didn't come 300 yards to the perfect food and stuff I'm thinking it could be related to the fact of being an old deer wanting to keep to himself as has been talked about on previous podcast.
Good podcast, I was wondering if you guys thought 12 farms was way too many? I think this is what Eberhart is referring too when describing us going towards a European style of hunting. Regardless, you guys will have to go see the new PAGC podcast that was released today talking about myths with the agency? The one talks about not taking funds from organizations, don’t they get a crap ton of money from oil and gas on SGL? Speaking of funds, how the frig is Matt Morrett still an employee of the PAGC
Lee can’t answer but I can lol I love Kentucky. I own about 350 acres near Morehead. People would say wow he must be rich, in reality it’s because land is cheap. Low deer numbers but there are big bucks, it’s a beautiful area and I don’t ever plan to sell
The problem with cwd… we can no longer feed or put minerals out here in west Tennessee. There philosophy is kill all you can but we have never had a case on our farm in 5 years when we first started
Biggest things with kids in dirt bikes is making them wear the saftey gear, not buying them something too big or more than they can handle. Like a yz250 at 15 is a little much
The CSP program is Conservation Stewardship Program. You can get money to fight back invasives, prescribed fires, all sorts of stuff. Great program that most people dont take advantage of. Great show guys.
Awesome "show" guys! Very interesting conversation! I dont believe i have heard a conversation like this before. FWIW, I would like to request Spook Spann for episode 200.
Man y’all worry more about other people than you worry bout yourself. Did you tune into the pod to watch an interrogation or learn sum shit from some good hunters?
Look we need to see nick he’s a huge part of the show, show the guy some love
The not knowing is the only thing that keeps ppl coming back every week
Give us Nick!!!! 😂
Nick is the man
@@HUNTRPOD😂
Is he as boyish as y’all describe him to be?
Awesome episode!! We need Lee, Skip, Mark Drury, and Bill to have a round table discussion.
I would not fail to embarass myself
Lee's genuine obsession with deer is contagious. Love it.
Lee is an absolute guru!! Did he low-key call bullshit on "management bucks" when he said some just don't blow up until they're 7,8,9 years old?

I keep thinking my phones going off every time the Ding sounds .🤣
Good one. I’d like to know how many of his yearling bucks are spikes and how many of those turn into B&C class bucks.
Heck ya man. Why does this keep popping up

awesome podcast. With your experience buying farms, what's your thoughts on buying land in eastern Kentucky?

There are two guys who I can listen to them talk for hours: Lee Lakosky & Mark Drury
No doubt
That was a wonderful 3 hours! Great job fellas

10 ac of standing corn is a 10,000 lb corn pile
If you’re going to pick one guy to learn how to hunt deer from - this is the guy.
The answer to 1:24:50 would be too much pressure and he'd rather eat a lesser quality than deal with too many doe's and other bucks
Definitely hope the soil podcast can happen
For sure happening
3:23 the mute?? What happened with him?
hOW LONG ID IT TAKE FOR tIFF TO FINALLY GET THE FIRE STARTED ?
I'm waiting to see ur podcast about the field and stream report about 2 people supposedly dying from cwd that is cjd in humans.
It’s coming

Spook is one on the list for sure
@@HUNTRPOD oh good! Another d-bag law breaker!
I read the first case was confirmed of cwd that jumped over and killed two hunters
Let’s go!!!
Awesome podcast fellas! As always! Lee and Tiffany are a couple of the greats to figure it out and do it!
Why didn’t you guys ask Lee about how they r baiting deer in Iowa ? You guys r such anti baiters would’ve thought u would brought that up.
You mean feeding deer? We discussed it a lot lol
Go to 1:07, Lee does talk about feeding, baiting and food plots
or ask him about not tagging the buck he shot correctly this year receiving a ticket

@@jinsennave2174he’s not that good anyone in iowa with the amount of land he has can kill the same deer
Sorry fellas, for sure inconsiderate having your(the host)..phone going off time after time during the interview of a guest...that you invited

Ohhh Yeah let’s gooooo
In the words of Ivan Drago. If he dies he dies!!
Was he on meat eater
Typical podcast where rich boy and man bun talk more about themselves then the expert they have on their show
And yet, here you are. Must be doing something you like!
Man bun is gone though ? 🤫
