  • In this video, I explain the emotional struggles I faced associated with my pelvic organ prolapses, hysterectomy, and complete pelvic reconstruction. I discuss the range of emotions I faced related prolapse symptoms, acing a vaginal hysterectomy at a young age, the physical aspects of my recovery, and being unable to participate in caring for my family. I also attempt to normalize ANY feelings women are having related to the prolapse journey, and encourage women to give themselves grace and seek help.

3 weeks out from this exact surgery. I waited until my boys were a little older to do it. I can’t imagine you having to do this with tiny littles and the tremendous stress that comes with. Definitely emotional and physical trauma for you. It’s hard enough for us moms to not take care those around us first and we don’t give ourselves time to heal. I’ve found that other women tend to be the most critical, including female gynos! Hugs to you and praying for your continued recovery. Thank you for sharing!

You know… you’re right. In my overall experience with doctors, I have found male docs to be much more compassionate and willing to find solutions than female ones. Thanks for sharing your story!

I am in my early 40's and had 5 surgeries at one time including my hysterectomy. I was so glad to find your channel since I couldn't find much that covered all I was going through. I still struggle with functional issues post-op i feel are not being addressed well 😒. I am glad you seem well and just wanted to say thank you for helping me along my journey it truly helped so much to know what seemed "normal" or not.

I’m so glad you found this channel helpful! I understand still having some lingering issues. I commented on your other comment about lingering urinary urgency. I hope that things continue to improve for you.

Grief about hysterectomy is a reality. It is frustrating that people have a "meh" response to our having a hysterectomy. I was 66 yrs. old when I had a hysterectomy and pelvic organ prolapse surgery. I even considered postponing the surgery because I was feeling sad about removing a "perfectly healthy organ". But it had to go. Even though those baby bearing days were long gone, it was still a grief worthy time. It would have been nice to have someone in the medical community to address this feeling. Hmmm? But now, 4 months later, I am having defecation issues. I was doing fine with bowels before the surgery (besides the vaginal area falling part feeling). But it seems right after I had the surgery I can't poop like normal. It is like there is a ball there. I asked my surgeon at my post-op exam and he said something about something sticking toward the rectum and that the stool will have to kinda go around it. He suggested Miralax. Hmmm. I have another appointment scheduled for next month to ask the same question. I am not a happy camper and no one likes a grumpy old lady around; hahahaha.

Have you tried the joylux? Do you have a lot of scar tissue? I'm considering surgery, but have concerns so I'm glad I found your videos😊
