I am 3 weeks post op and feel 100% back to normal it's wild. I went back to work day 5. So so thankful. Thanks for sharing your journey has helped me so much!
I'm on day 4 of recovery from my laproscopic hysterectomy. It's easy to overdo it. I did too much sitting up on Thursday trying to work remotely, on Friday I slept so much and had no energy. No complications thankfully, but I don't see my doctor again for 16 days. I purchased a large heating pad prior to surgery and haven't needed it. Thought about getting a belly binder, but discovered a pillow works just as well. My dr recommended not spending money on things just for surgery. They would provide what I needed. They sent me home with disposable panties, pads, and protector pads for my bed. Didn't need any of it. Was happy we had started miralax 5 days prior to surgery date. I had my first bowel movement on Thursday afternoon. Drinking warm water with lemon and honey for the sore throat I got from being intubated
I had my hysterectomy on 11/29/2023. Recovery has been good for the most part. I did slightly overdo it on post-op day 6 and paid for it that night and the next day. I am being more careful and just relaxing and asking my kids for help. Your videos have been great watching! One of my steristrips came off yesterday 😮 but all is good. I have 4 incisions. The worst part of my surgery for my doctor was all the scar tissue from 4 C-sections, but aside from that, she said it was tough but a success!! Yay!! Taking a stool softner has been a blessing. Crazy not having to push because your body just shoves it out gently. haha Thank you for your videos. I wish I had seen them before surgery, I was a mental wreck. I am glad I am seeing them now. Take care ❤😊
YAY!!! I am so happy you are on the other side of surgery and that you know now to really take it easy and allow your body to rest and heal and recover! Thank you so much for watching these videos and I am so happy they are helpful even after the fact! I am actually getting ready to share my 2 year post op video this month (hopefully in the next week or two)! Hope to chat more with you soon! xo
I am rewatching this after an unexpected hysterectomy (my hemoglobin was nose diving down to 5.2 and they were concerned about it going any lower) 8 days ago. Your 4 month update popped up and reminded me to check back and rewatch these. I knew the hysterectomy was an eventual surgery but didn't expect it so soon. I wish I would have had more time to prepare myself and my family. It is kind of scary to hear your mom is going straight to the hospital. My husband has been AMAZING as a husband, dad, and emotional support throughout this all! I am so blessed! I wish I had some of that Smooth Move tea! First time was so scary because of the big, bold print warning! But we got 'er movin' and am getting more normal day by day. I may send my hubby to the store to get some just in case. Still sore and tired but I am trying to give myself grace. Drinking lots of water, taking pain meds when I need to, and taking breaks/naps whenever I feel the need is so important! As a mom of 5, I am relying on my older kiddos to help more and more. My sweet 10 year old daughter said, "Do you normally do all this stuff? No wonder you are always tired!" Yes, yes I do! The itchies are setting in and driving me batty! I had my sutures glued so no steristrips to take off, but I am wishing I could do something to relieve the itchy sensation! Thank you for being so candid and honest! It is really helping me put my recovery in perspective! Smiles, Abby Smith
Hi hope you are you doing better.. finally I am seeing some one having hysterectomy due to Anemia. Did you have to consistently do iron infusion after the hysterectomy. Can we please connect, would like to get some advice. I have had hysterectomy done last week.
I had a total hysterectomy two years ago. I was so tired for several weeks. I’m glad you are not overdoing it. I kind of did and I paid for it later- Which just slowed my recovery some. Just be patient with yourself, it’s a small amount of time in the long run 🏃♀️ so be careful. Sending you hugs 🤗 and we’ll wishes ! 💕🤗🙏🏻
Good to hear things are going well for you! Just do what your body is telling you. We definitely miss your videos and chatting often but take care of yourself first and foremost ❤️
Thank you for sharing your story, I was recently diagnosed with a fibroma and a cyst, I'm waiting for my doctor's verdict and most likely I also need to prepare for the surgery, I'm scared 💞💞But your videos are motivating, thanks again💕💕
Just found theses wish I had looked b4 surgery today is my 8 th day after surgery and feeling a little discouraged. This videos definitely help did u have any redness on your tummy at all that u can recall
So glad your recovery is going well 💜 You are helping lots of people by talking about your experience - especially the tmi stuff :) I know you are tired but you look beautiful! You will be so happy when you can sleep on your tummy again 😴
Great video … so much to look forward to this year for you … Getting back to full fitness , your house move and of course delighting us all with your SCENTSY videos . You sound like you’re doing great after 2 weeks. Stay safe and well. 🥰
I have to get a hysterectomy May 15th because I am always getting blood transfusions due to my menstrual being so bad. Sometimes I bleed 2 or 3 times a month. I am nervous and sad. Thank you for these videos
So happy to hear you continue to do so well. And you were not bragging - you were just sharing your experience. Also, glad to now be counting down the days to WLS!!!
I wish you all the best. I just had mine on April 5th I am still recovering. I am feeling better each day. The pain was bearable I haven’t taken too much of the narcotics I took it once since I came home. I do take my ibuprofen 800mg whenever I need to. You are going to be fine. Have faith pray and trust God. ❤️
I am EXACTLY the same way n my "time line" thinking - "This time last week/month/year", etc. And I also think that as you get older, it's harder for your body to throw off/recover from the long-reaching after effects of anesthesia. I found that over the years, even though I had more "minor"/less physically traumatic procedures, I still took longer an donger to recover my energy/not be tired for longer and longer periods of time after any surgeries. And I totally understand on the bowel habits - pretty daggone regular here too, and I can feel the difference if I don't every day. I feel ya, sistuh! I also had a "don't need this stuff celebration after my uterine ablation. And I felt SOOOOO good when I "didn't need all that room in my suitcase" the first time i went on vacation after that, and DIDN'T need to take an entire huge bag of pads with me, because of heavy bleeding!! Wonder if part of the pain you were feeling could also have been localized muscle spasms, from them having "moved stuff around" and using the DaVinci (or whatever robotic system you had), especially since Shawn could visibly see movement. Have experienced that myself several times. Had them in my upper back so badly after my spine surgery in my neck that it felt like somebody was holding a cigarette lighter against my skin - very localized, very painful - and didn't start until about a week or so after my surgery - guess my body was "relaxing" is the way I think about it. And yeah - "healing itchies" are no joke!!! And I wore my granny panties pulled WAY up over my belly button - as near to my chain as I could get them - ROTFL - for a LONG time after my tubal ligation - felt like a 90 year old man, but did NOT want that feeling anywhere NEAR my incisions!!! LOL I continue to heartily applaud you for being so open, blunt, and honest - always - but particularly in this journey - in an effort to perhaps help someone else. You're my hero, and a total boss!! Continue dong well, and continued admiration also for your wonderful, supportive hubby!! P.S. Having a NOT love fest with FedEx right now - at least it's NOT with Scentsy, but that doesn't really make me feel any better. They SO suck! :( :(
Just curious how long did it take you to go back to work or even working just a little bit I know you said you work from home. Thanks for sharing your journey I've been in pain and my several drs have told me to deal with it and I have been but my pain is getting worse I figure il wind up having this surgery eventually if the drs will ever listen to me
I’m only 1 month post op but the smooth move kept cramping my stomach really bad so I switched to miralax and it works so much better and I don’t get the stomach cramps. So it’s definitely about finding what works best for you :)
I am so happy you're going along so well! When I had my gallbladder removed I had the itching so bad also and I used hydrocortisone cream and that helped a lot.
Here where I live we have a nurse hot line for no emergency issues. If they think it’s bad enough they say go to the hospital and they make it so you get in faster then the rest of the less emergency people
I’m glad you are doing very well… i know this video is from one year ago. But I’m in day 7 from my hysterectomy and I’m scared of driving by myself. If someone can help me with any experience or opinion I’d really appreciate it.. thank you 🙏🏻 😊
You weren’t bragging just sharing. 🙂 Sorry you’re feeling frustrated but it’ll get better I’m sure. For your energy and healing I do have a suggestion…My dr. had me take some liquid protein drinks during my recovery to help give my body a boost and also help with the hydration mission. You could try that. 🙂
Happy to hear your recovery is going well. Sending good wishes and hugs to you! I am just like you when it comes to...this time last week/this time next week at this time!! I do that all the time!! Take care of yourself!!
Listen to your body. Move as much as you are able to…. Just little things like slowly walking around the house. But getting the blood flowing helps your recovery process. Sending you love and healing vibes! The worst is behind you and the best is coming! Xoxo
Hello I am on day 7 of my surgery Laparoscopic I have 4 little cuts And that one incide I feel sore and exhausted Missing sleep on my belly to 😭 My lower back hurts a bit Now how you feel all the pain and inflammation is gone ?
Hi Lisa, I have to catch up on your series. I was just catching this episode per say and I wanted to share with you that I had a total hysterectomy in 2017 and at that time I believe I was right around your same age It sounds like your recovery is going quite normal and well and everything you were saying sounds very familiar, going by my memory. My biggest issue is I never liked to sit still are lying in bed so I would also make myself sore because I would get up and move around too much so be careful and like you said listen to your body. Biggest issue I have had is I have been on HRT‘s for the past four years since the hysterectomy due to the fact that it throws you into immediate menopause, which I’m sure you know or did your doctor talk to you about it? I take an estrogen pill and I use and estrogen patch and if I don’t use them let’s just say I can get in beast mode. Do you know if you will be going on any HRT‘s? Is it caused me to gain a bit of weight, estrogen will do that to you. I’m not sure how much longer I need to be on these but it’s been a struggle with them. I think it’s with me a good 2 to 3 months for a full recovery after the surgery. I wish you a speedy recovery remember to take it easy on yourself!
Hi Belinda, I didn’t have a radical hysterectomy so I won’t need hormone replacement therapy. My body is still receiving hormones from my ovaries that were left thank goodness. So I should go through menopause naturally and I hope to still have a few more years until that happens.
I have to get a hysterectomy May 15th because I am always getting blood transfusions due to my menstrual being so bad. Sometimes I bleed 2 or 3 times a month. I am nervous and sad. Thank you for these videos

So happy your recovery is going well! Take care and have a great week! ❤
SMOOTH MOVE is the bomb!!! That's a staple in our house! I like that it doesn't make you run to the bathroom, IT JUST WORKS :)
I’m only 1 month post op but the smooth move kept cramping my stomach really bad so I switched to miralax and it works so much better and I don’t get the stomach cramps. So it’s definitely about finding what works best for you :)

Yay for Jan 16th vlog return! And I just saw the NOPE merch! I'll be buying something tommorrow ^_^ Glad all's good!
The type of fiber matters soluble rather that insoluble fiber is best after surgery. Soluble fiber will keep things smooth with less bulk.

@@LisaRowberry Thank you so much. I feel like certain parts are very easy and others not so much
Good info here for my upcoming surgery. Thanks! Yeah I too want to know what's to come and stuff like that.
Oh and I don’t recall having any problems at all with bowel movements they just came naturally on their own, but I know everyone is different.
I was told that I could drive as soon as I was off narcotics and could comfortably control my feel.
Have you noticed any changes in like pms symptoms at all? Since you kept your ovaries? I am scared of the gas pains after laparoscopic

Do you just drink one smooth move tea a day ? Anyone have success eating prunes or drinking prune juice
I am 7 days post op. Every day💩👌
What type of surgery did you get
Metamucil and meralax
how's your condition now?
100000% back to normal! I feel better than I have in YEARS! I don’t ever remember feeling this good!
