I’m 5dpo and just want to thank you for your amazing videos. They really helped me prepare before my surgery and I’m astonished and so grateful at the number of real women sharing details of their hysterectomies on RUclips. You guys are giving so much goodness to the rest of us. ❤

Thank you for this update, Lisa! Isn't it shocking at how so many of us women believed that painful periods were normal growing up? Ugh, the things we have to go through. Glad you are doing well!

Working for a hospital in billing DO NOT just pay anything until you check it. With so much automation now bills go out left & right that are wrong. It also doesn't matter which hospital you have any procedures at the cost is always based on how the insurance processed the claim. The only way the cost would be different based on hospitals is if you had no insurance at all. The total charge for things will be different based on equipment etc. If you have insurance it doesn't matter if you bill 1 million dollars the insurance is only going to pay the contracted amount the rest has to be adjusted to what the insurance says the patient owes. If they are charging the difference they are doing something wrong. Hope this helps & for anyone reading this as well. I deal with these insurance companies all day long * they are terrible.

Thanks for the update, Lisa. I just hit my one year mark and remember watching your videos before I had mine. You are correct. Total is cervix, tubes, and uterus. And Radical includes ovaries.

My surgery is scheduled for this Thursday. Everything is being removed. To say I’m nervous is an understatement.

Hi, how are you doing after your surgery? I am considering the surgery because of my endometriosis, I need a full hysterectomy, including removing my ovaries, and I'm am so very scared.

@@luzhernandez5321 i’m doing great! I was terrifying up until I was not conscious so I completely understand but after the surgery I felt like there was this huge weight lifted off of me and was such a relief. I didn’t necessarily 100% needed it but I am on a Harmer replacement patch now, and after a little adjustment to it, I think I’m doing great. I felt like I had to reply because I’m right here with you. I scared as I was I don’t regret not that I had a choice but I don’t regret the surgery if I’m being honest, I thought I was gonna turn into some kind of monster after they took everything out but I’m very calm now and I’m really not in as much pain anymore soI hope you feel less afraid and I’m praying for you

Hi Lisa, thanks for doing this update. I originally found your channel while I was researching and planning for my own hysterectomy. The video series you did was so helpful and reassuring. I am now 4 months post op and feeling better than ever!

My heart goes out to you so much because of your journey. And just like you - I thought it was normal growing up with ALL the pain of the cramps. Endometriosis is hereditery and that was 1 reason why I didn't want kids. I would feel horrible giving this to my future daughter(S) or even son(s). Yes, sons too. It's rare. But sons can be born with it I guess? I have only seen a few research studies on it. Literally only a few. This disease is nuts! Full Hysterectmy was the BEST decision of my life!!! I was hysterical when I went in for the last apt practically begging, I gave up. I couldn't live another day with my pain. The dr would do an exam and I was practically screaming and falling off the table - thats how bad I was. I was going to a special Women's clinic at U of M as well. Crying and everything. During Covid times. Mann. It's so crazy cause it's been almost 1 1/2 years for me...
Do you feel like you have a "phantom uterus" still? Like you have pain still every so often? Cramping? I asked my dr about it and she said it's because I am still "ovulating" from my last ovary.

I had a full hysterectomy at 55, (4 years ago) had my ovary’s taken out because I had a sister died of ovarian cancer so my doctor recommended I take them out and take estrogen after, unfortunately I had really bad side effects from the estrogen so I stopped, I don’t regret getting the hysterectomy but I am dealing with awful mood swings, depression, fatigue, anxiety, no sex drive, and I just been diagnosed with osteoporosis, I think if anyone thinking of a hysterectomy if you can keep your ovaries keep them, I haven’t been the same from losing my hormones

I needed to hear this ♥️ I’m 48 so I don’t have the exact same scenario BUT I can absolutely relate on so many levels. I’ve been told I need to have a hysterectomy done for many years. A lot of the things you talked about were so helpful to hear so thank you. I’m finally ready now to go through with the surgery (some people would say just wait for menopause but my doctor says I am very high risk for gynecological cancer and I have excruciating pain even when I’m not menstruating soooo) I’m still breastfeeding my 18month old miracle baby so I need to make sure I have help at home(I have children) before I go ahead with surgery. I think I will be okay I mean I had 3 c-sections and I really did not have an abundance of help…ANYWAYS thank you so much for sharing ♥️🤗

I just had a total hysterectomy 3 days ago on the 18th with salpingo oophorectomy…. So everything was taken out. I’m very eager to see your experience 2 years later as I’ve been researching the heck out of other peoples experiences.

@@LisaRowberry my doctor started me on hormone therapy right away. So far so good. I totally feel for you on how painful it can be and how much relief you feel post surgery. I had the trifecta of endo , pcos and adenomyosis. I was tired of getting cysts that kept putting me in the ER or them bursting so I opted to have my remaining ovary removed as I already had one removed 16 years ago. Back then I had 2 surgeries for all this and sadly insurance is so stupid. They wouldn’t cover the hysterectomy and wanted a diagnosis surgery first even though I already had a history of problems so I had that 9 weeks ago then had to wait for this surgery that was a couple days ago. It was absolutely excruciating waiting. The pains now are minimal compared to pre op pain. I feel for others that go through this too. It’s one of those silent invisible illnesses that others can’t see or feel so it must not be that bad right !? We get used to pushing through so others think it isn’t that bad. Thank you for sharing your experience! Now time to go back and watch the earlier videos.

I had one 3 years ago, same Kind like her. I completely doing so much better,it was a hard time before, with so much pain. Now I'm painfree and I thought it was the right decision. The only one I struggled first, was not to had a second child. Now I'm fine with my decision.

Try "Pelvic Floor Therapy". That does help a lot. That could be a suggestion for anyone that doesn't feel like themself afterwards. I know with my surgery, my dr said things were like glued together and they had to pull things apart. So a lot of my insides went through a lot that day. So I definitely went through a Years worth of Pelvic floor therapy.

I’m trying so hard to get my hysterectomy journey started. I’m 34 and I have one kiddo who is 11 years old. I was born with a genetic disease called neurofibromatosis and I have type 2. I get masses/tumors internally on my nerves and muscles. I have had 2 surgeries so far because they were so big and both came back as malignant. I also had a 75% chance of it being passed down to my son and thank god he does NOT have it!! My husband and I knew we wanted only one child due to all of the risks. I also have endometriosis. I still can’t find a good doctor who will help me get this process started even with my health issues. I’m glad you’re doing better Lisa!!! Each month is pure hell for me. The pain is so bad I end up vomiting and passing out. I’m happy you don’t have to deal with this junk anymore because I don’t wish this on any woman EVER!!!!

I had done an IUD once and almost passed out from it. So painful. and I swear I could feel it all the time. SMH
I have GI issues a lot of them. . . IBS but I also have Deeply Infiltrated Endometriosis "DIE" / Stage 4 Endometrios / Rectal Endometriosis. They found Endometriosis in my Rectum. So maybe get that checked out too. They can find large lesions with a "Pelvic MRI". My dr had thought she saw it during my Hysterectomy and it was verified via the MRI. But because of the location - it's super high risk to do surgery there - 1 wrong nick and I could become septic and have a bag on the side of me for the rest of my life. UMmmm no Thank you. lol so I agreed with my dr. I am just doing hormone therapy right now to keep my endometriosis at bay. But it has me so concerned about other body organs, cause it can be in your spine, heart, brain, lungs and arms and legs. It's crazy!!!
Oh after surgery the gas was bad... cause they fill you up with air. but because of your videos - I watched all of your videos before I had mine and I took notes and I ordered like the same things you did. The pillow for the car!!! Yes!!!! Dude... I felt EVERY BUMP!!!! And you don't realize what you use your stomach muscles for. Until you do. Like climbing stairs or getting in and out of cars and doing seat belts . Laughing. sneezing. reaching for things. nope. Nope staying still.
