Hi just wanted to ask how you are doing? Hope you are ok. Your videos have been a great help to me, I have prolapse & am due to have vaginal hysterectomy in October but I don't think I will go ahead with it ...too nervous to be honest

Hello. I am doing well now, but it’s been a journey for sure. I recommend you watch my “considerations for a hysterectomy” video. I’m not sure how old you are, but if you’re not near menopause, I hesitate to recommend a hysterectomy. There are other, more conservative, ways to fix prolapses. I’ve suffered ovarian failure since mine and the roller coaster of hormone related issues has been hard to manage. Just my thoughts… check out my video, and email with any questions. I wish you continued good health & happiness from Ireland 🙏

Thank you once again for such an informative video. I was also told this about my ovaries being left intact and would cause no problem. I am also in menopause a year after surgery. I definitely want to start HRT once I have had further surgery to sort out another prolapse that occurred after my hysterectomy. Everything you say I agree with and you are so right about not being fully informed before the hysterectomy about the ovaries. Thank you once again for sharing, this has been so helpful to me🤍

So sorry for your experience, dear. My experience testosterone is a nightmare I take 1.5 mg estrogen patch saved my freaking life and a progesterone pill at night. Getting hysterectomy next week keeping everything but my uterus. I’m excited to up my estrogen after I get rid of my uterus, it makes me so youngand feel so fabulous. Yes I’m scared but I have to do this and I’ve got my hormones on lock testosterone destroyed me and many others. I know God bless.

Hi. I’m so sorry you went through this. Can you please share more with me about the negative effects of testosterone for you? I worry about this myself, but I have not yet had any bad side effects. I would love to know what to look for, and be able to talk with my doctor about my concerns. Also, do you remember what dose of testosterone you were taking?

@@personalprolapsestory hi for me testosterone was instant almost like a histamine reaction. My hands were puffy and I gained 5 pounds of just water almost overnight. My temper was short and I got rough skin like acne. I can’t stand feeling swollen and it definitely made me feel that way, so I stopped it, I got my testosterone numbers back this week again they’re incredibly low. Don’t even care. Had hysterectomy a couple of days ago pain from the gas from the laparoscope is worse than anything kept ovaries kept cervix did vaginal vault and a really cool pelvic floor tightening. estrogen is my favorite thing and I am even able to up that now that my uterus is gone, I don’t know if I mentioned before I take 1.5mg transdermal patch twice weekly. The brand I like is Mylan MYLAN and I take 2 to 300mg progesterone nightly knocks me out and I swear it makes my small breasts a little bigger🥳now that I don’t have a uterus I don’t need to take it, but I’m going to continue the nightly progesterone at a lower dose. I don’t personally know any women that have tried testosterone that have loved it or continued it. I really think it’s a fad and setting up these testosterone clinics and implants is just a nightmare. I can’t imagine falling for that and getting a pellet.🤦🏻‍♀️

Hello. I am no doctor, but a bulge of any sort doesn’t seem normal. That said, I did have a scar tissue lump/bulge near my rectum on the outside for about 6 months after my surgery. It went away on its own, and did not impact my bowels at all. I would be very hesitant to have your anterior vaginal wall fixed with mesh. I caution against almost any mesh… but I don’t know your exact case. Have you watched my “how to choose a surgeon” video? I will say that I do have some urinary issues I didn’t have pre-surgery (urge incontinence/urge issues), but it did fix my stress incontinence (which was worse). I understand your hesitancy and I think I’d seek a second opinion from a VAGINAL SURGEON.

I had a high utero sacral ligament and rectocoele surgery in October. It felt great at first. At least the utero part. But I haven't been able to empty my bowels since then without a laxative of some kind. I have asked my surgeon about the "bulge" I feel in my rectum. And he said something like that happens. The stool just needs to go "around" the bulge. Huh? Before the surgery I had changed my diet (we're carnivore now) and my lifelong battle with constipation was gone; woo hoo! But that joy was short lived; ugh. Now the "front" of my vaginal wall has prolapsed and it has been recommended that I do a surgery for that which will involve this triangular looking mesh thing. Not thrilled. My urinary tract is going along well and always has been. I am a bit tentative that anything more will mess with that system and that would be a giant NO for me. Anyone dealing with anything like this? I am very sorry for all y'all younger women who are going through this type of condition. I am 67 years old and didn't see this problem until about five years ago and, like you, not at all fine with any of this. Ugh.

I am 23 F, I have mild cystocele due to my chronic constipation issues and some hormonal imbalance .
I don't have any discomfort or issues with urine or UTI's .
I am really afraid of going for a surgery .does it affect sex life ?
I never had sex till now .
It feels depressing to have this issue this early; whixh i have no clue about .
If u have any idea ,please help me with this .
I will be going to urogynecologist in couple of months .
    Thanks!

First, I’m so sorry you’re facing this.. especially at 23. 😮 First, don’t even let them think about suggesting a hysterectomy. Second, I’d steer clear of mesh slings. This is what MANY doctors want to do, but they’re a bandaid fix, your bladder will fall again, and THOSE can cause issues with sex. I’m hoping you live close enough to a metro area that you can find a urogynecologist or vaginal surgeon to do native tissue repairs, where they instead repair the structure of your vaginal wall. Check out my “how to choose a surgeon” video for more info, and feel free to email with specific questions. Personalprolapsestory@gmail.com

Have you heard of anterior colporrhaphy?

And I will be marrying in a couple of years .now I am thinking of going for a surgery 🙂 it's success rate is 70 to 90 percent .
I don't have any have any problem with fingering, does it hurt when having sex ?
Do I need to go through surgery ? It would be better if surgery is done after I have a kid .

YES!! That’s what I had done (among other things), and is by far the best way to treat this. Assuming your surgeon does a good job, this should be exactly what you need for long term repair.. although I cannot speak to what will happen once you start having babies, especially vaginally. I would definitely ask your doctor that, if that is in the cards for you. Sounds like you have found a good surgeon who does things the right way!

Just recovering from hysterectomy, cystocele and rectocele. I am having a horrible time recovering from my bladder repair. I was convinced my urinary retention and recurrent utis were because of my prolapses. I am having a hard time emptying my bladder still. If someone had the same problem please advise.

How long has it been and did you call the doctor? I had to have my catheter put back in twice because it took a while for “my bladder to remember its job.” Could the sling be too tight? Did the catheter get removed too early? Still inflamed or muscle contractions? These were all things I was informed could lead to issues emptying. Heat and AZO helped me feel better.

You don’t have a uterus, no need for progesterone.

    • @personalprolapsestory
      @personalprolapsestory  4 месяца назад +1

Progesterone is used to counteract estrogen when a woman does still have her uterus, but it is used for many reasons other than that for those who have had their uterus removed. It is one of the primary female, hormones, and needs to be supplemented if you are having many of the symptoms that I am. The biggest issue with the onset of my symptoms is that it did not happen gradually as it does, when menopause naturally occurs. My ovaries pretty much immediately shut down And I require progesterone to feel optimal. It sounds as if you need to do a lot more research about hormones. Progesterone is not only used to counteract estrogen to prevent uterine cancer.
