Hi Maria, love these videos so much, it feels like girl talk! Thought I would mention drying your hair about 80-85% then placing in the rollers may have a better effect for longer lasting volume and a more defined curl! Thanks for sharing your journey as always ❤

    • @cathygenereux2656
      @cathygenereux2656 4 месяца назад +5

I was going to mention this too. If you leave your hair a little damp, put the rollers in, let it sit a couple hours, then remove them. This makes amazing curl!

This! Plus dry shampoo for a refresher in the afternoon or day 2. It will add volume, texture and remove the scalp oils. I like chi’s fake and bake dry shampoo.

Oh girl. I FEEL you. I also have fine dark blonde hair and lost about a third of it to the worst stress and anxiety of my life last year. (Seriously, what was up with last year for all of us?!) I’ve always loved your videos and think you’re so great (and a serious badass!!) and am so sad you had such a hard time this past autumn. Wishing you health and happiness and healing in every way. Thanks for making life a little brighter for all of us, just by being you. 💜

I had some hair loss going through menopause. It's slowly coming back. You just have to be patient when you have stress or hormone related hair loss, frustrating as that may be. You have such gorgeous, soft, shiny hair, the curls just make it that much prettier. Count yourself lucky!

i understand the health anxiety. it’s important to remember stress can show up so strongly in our bodies and make us stress even more that there’s something worse at play. i’m glad you’ve gotten that reassurance through testing, so maybe through whatever it is that relaxes you and makes you happy, you can lower your stress and hopefully soon the body will start to respond positively. your hair looks beautiful, and i know a lot of people who struggle with hair loss from stress, most very young; so it’s nothing to be ashamed about at all. you’re gorgeous, inside and out!!

Anyhow, I have the same hair issue, fine and thin. I've even had a perm back in the 90s and they took the rods out to my bone straight hair. We can't go without washing a day bc our hair gets way to greasy. You look beautiful and your skin looks great. Mila is getting so big now.

Oh Maria, I’ve lost so much hair too! It’s either just crazy shedding or stress. So I understand what you’ve been dealing with. I’ve been taking the Nutrafol vitamins and I feel like it is helping with my shedding/overall fullness. They are pricey, but after three months I do feel like they are worth it. I also started using Batana oil? A little pricy but just drop it on my roots and wash it out the next morning.
Love you always and always thankful to see your update!

Both looks would look (even) better without such a low side part.😅 It doesn’t have to be dead center necessarily, but something close to a middle part would look more harmonious on you, I think. Especially with curly and more voluminous looks like these.

Maria, when you said "I had panic attacks because I thought something was wrong with me," it resonated so much with me. I struggled with panic attacks through 2022 and 2023, and one of the major contributing triggers to them was a continuous intrusive thought "something is terribly wrong with me." Physically, I was in totally normal health-even the experience of the panic attack itself is not physically dangerous (it's so crazy because it feels like you're going to die, or maybe have a heart attack, but it's just adrenaline. and your body can only produce that much adrenaline for about 10-15 minutes.) But I was constantly anxious that there was something really really wrong. After all, my body kept telling me I should panic, be worried/anxious/afraid. I was diagnosed with panic disorder by a psychiatrist and I take an anti-depressant now, which has pretty much eliminated the panic attacks. But I just want to tell you you're not crazy or alone in thinking that your panic attacks were happening because you /thought/ something was wrong physically with your body, even if nothing was.
Thank you for sharing parts of your life with us on this channel ❤ wishing you and your family good health and happiness.

With fine or "silky" hair, don't use leave-in conditioner. Use a good conditioner in the shower, leave it in for a few minutes, then rinse it out completely. You need a texturizing spray (a light mousse or a salt spray) on towel-dried hair after the shower to get your hair to hold a wave or a curl. It will also help with volume. Source: my mother was a cosmetologist for 50 years. Good luck!

My hair is terribly silky. Your comment makes total sense, but I struggle with staticy hair (mainly in the winter) if I don't use some kind of leave in conditioner! But like you suggested, I also started using texturing spray recently along with leave in conditioner and it has helped a TON!

Hello Maria, I had the same issues with my hair, I thought also it was stress but I wanted to have curly volumn hair in the mornings so I slept for 3years with a high bun in as many ways as you are doing😊. The biggest issue sleeping with your hair pulled up, it pulls your hair from your forehead up which causes damage at the roots and in the longterm the hair breaks. Don't try to stretch your hair too much at night, a loose braid is still the best. :)

My hair has also been falling out recently in life and I have no idea why. This happened once before when my iron was very low but that is no longer the case. I'm in my 40s btw. So I tried castor oil, adding to my scalp on the top of my head and sleeping overnight with it on, washing the hair in the am. Sometimes I do it on the weekend when I have time to let it absorb into my skin at least an hour or two before I wash. You really don't need to use a lot. I use very little in fact and I've been noticing new growth, little hairs sticking up and less shedding. So glad it is working for me. I've also tried rosemary essential oil too, adding a drop to my shampoo in the shower.

I use the larger rods and I actually love them! Though I find they work best with hair that is already curled. For example, if I curl my hair to go out at night and then want to preserve it for the next day, I'll use the rods. In my opinion, they don't really create curls, but they're AMAZING at preserving them! But either way, your hair looked great, and you look awesome, as always!

Oh wow, you have such amazing eyelashes to accent your large beautiful eyes! I got the WOW Bombshell to use for my fine thin straight curl resistant hair. It holds the curl really well and makes my hair feel really soft till the next wash while holding my style. It’s worth it. A little dry shampoo at roots will pump up the volume. But I agree, the full on curls are a better result than the slight wave look.

Omg who let Mila grow up?! She’s beautiful!! I also like the second results more than the first too. Soft curls with volume. I also have thin hair so this is great info/review. I think you should get a bonnet for when you sleep in the bun things. Maybe it’ll help keep them in place?
