Why would not removing it be worse? I would think it would be better coz you’re containing it within your own mask and if it’s that big of a deal, change masks or sneeze into the inside of your arm. That would have been better. Sometimes I’ll pull up my shirt and sneeze inside my shirt as to be considerate of others.

@@fromtheSon The mask is precisely for that, not just to protect yourself but to protect other’s from your germs, it’s meant to keep your saliva and mucus inside the mask if you cough or sneeze.
You could make the mantle a holiday / seasonal mantle that Mila could help you with by picking out decorations and helping to decorate. It’s a small area, so won’t take much money or items, but you could decorate every two months for the next holiday or season and Mila can learn about decorating and take pride in a finished look!

I love the moss around the plants! I literally don't have any plants in my house, but I like the idea of covering up the dirt with something nicer to look at.
(If you allow them into your house) you should add Lego flowers next to the moss. They’re super cute and you and your kid can make them together there are so many kinds of Lego flowers and some bootleg versions too.

For the mantel, I've accumulated some clear glass bottles of various shapes and sizes and I've lined them up on a shelf with various fake flowers (just the tops, no stems) covering the openings. Could be a good balance of neutral and interest and would match the natural look of the moss balls. If not glass maybe some wood vases that match the little tray they're on
What timing! I decided to go thru my wardrobe and donate items I no longer care for, and spruced up the bedroom today! Such great feeling to do that. Fun to see that you had a similar idea today lol. Thanks Maria
I've been watching Masha for so long that I remember that she has already told the story of how she met Daryl and she doesn't 😂😂😂 (including personal details... Younger M used to be so free with sharing. It kills me that the ugliness of the Internet has made her pull back her free spirit). Anyway, because of those early days I feel lucky to know that after she records her professional side in her videos that she turns off the camera and is actually a very silly, fun and open person. She's very special indeed ❤️
I'm laughing so hard at the part with the monster tree because when she said its gotten huge, I didn't really understand how big it was until she stood beside it! Its HUGE. She's a nurturer for sure.

Those moss balls are pretty, try maybe to corner 3 items you like on a tray with different heights and shapes above that fire place on one side instead of the tall candles on the sides..or you can try putting something round shaped (vase maybe) on one side as well since you have many sharp edge lines .it will soften the look ❤

I like the moss balls but I think the two candles on each side are too matchy-matchy. You want balance but it doesn't have to be perfect symmetry. Maybe three candles on one side, two on the other with a decorative 'stick ball' or wooden element to go with the nature theme :)

Rechargeable batteries!!! I have so many fake candles and it’s a life saver. I have to charge them all once a week but it doesn’t take long at all . Such a money saver

I love seeing your home decor! I don't have a lot of decor tips, although... I'm a color lover so I'll always give the advice to not be afraid to add pops of color! I love finding colorful vintage items like a colorful vintage telephone or vase. I also love collecting items when I travel to add to shelves or to hang on my gallery wall to break up the monotony of just frames. I've got a vinyl record on my wall, I've got a letterpress tray hung on the wall and it's filled with little treasures I've collected on my travels (like shells or coins). And books! Books can add a bit of color and interest as well. I think everything looks gorgeous in your home!

Love how sweet and sentimental you are ❤️ Those drawer replacements were perfect, especially w the bluish gray textured wallpaper you two put up together. You have such an eye. Maybe some smaller plants up on your mantle amidst the moss balls - like succulents, prayer or friendship plants. Ones that kinda stay on the smallish side. I love when people put fairy light coiled in a glass container as a lighting fixture w or w/out other objects. They have different colors and styles. You could also use fairy lights on the monster plant. If its that hardy, I doubt it would hurt it. My Mom’s an artist and she has an eye like you - and they decorate w lights year round and its so pretty with added softness to the ambiance of low light evenings gathered around the fire. I feel like I always get some kind of illness when I fly. I was once on a plane once (years ago) where someone was coughing constantly. A wet congested cough, it was so gross. I tried so hard to not breathe it in. I got sick with a temperature that evening after the flight. I seriously can't believe that guy sneezed like that!!! Hope Mila feels better soon 💓

One idea I had for your mantle, is to put one of your big hiking rocks on one side of the moss balls, and then 2 small-medium rocks or crystals on the other side. So there’s a balance of three natural objects surrounding the moss.❤

try neem oil spray for the gnats! it will kill them and not harm the plants, it just smells awful
Love this! I'm of the same mind here lately.. I want to go through our whole house this year and clear out all the clutter we've accumulated in closets/drawers. I've done my closet so far...such a good feeling!
For your mantel, I think a couple of your plants would add some nice color, or a couple small picture frames would be nice 🙂.

I use to decorate homes in Sydney for sale.... and I am now an artist for peoples homes ...so if I may can I suggest a gorgeous large crystal and another smaller one next to it ...Id paint the wood, the colour is not quite right. Perhaps leave the candles for another time or on a sideboard ... Perhaps a glass round glass bowl of pebbles to add a bit of colour too...Just some thoughts. xx

i would add some felt circles/feet under the plant stones...without some air in between them and your surface you're likely still to end up with them transferring moisture to your surface.
also, i like the idea of something made from driftwood (maybe even balls) on either side of the moss dish.

I switched over from battery operated led candles to usb chargeable ones I got off Amazon. Have pillar candles as well as votive sized. I absolutely love them and now I don't waste so much money on batteries.
