I have carried the PPS M1 for the last 12 years. That is a tough gun to beat. I put over 5000 rounds through it and it proved to be absolutely reliable and fun to shoot.
Man my accuracy with the pps m2 surprised me lol I was in a training session with a new shooter and I was just trying to give a little demo on shooing smaller guns and I pulled it off my hip and and drilled a hole at 10 yards. They were looking at me and I was shocked myself 😂 it shoots so much bigger than it is.
I think my m2 has a mag with 10 rounds? Maybe it’s just 8 I’d have to double check but it pretty sure it’s 10 but I know it doesn’t always come with three different sized mags
@@AshleysActivism The LE version comes with night sites, a 6,7 and 8 magazine sizes. The normal version does not have night sites, and comes with a 6 and 7 round magazine capacity only. I just got my M2, normal version and put night sites on it.
I just bought a pps m2. But I live in NJ. 😢 so I have to fill out a permit to purchase form to get a hand gun permit then wait 5-8weeks before my background check to be completed. Did I mention I already paid for this gun but I have to leave it at the FFL dealer for those 5-8 weeks before my background check clears. Then the nics background check can be done from that point. That background check takes 48 hours to a week to clear. After all that, I can finally go and pick up my pps.
@@ddibiasi1983 Oh I completely understand brother. I grew up in Sparta NJ. Moved to Nevada when I was 19 and couldn't go back due to the rules, regs, taxes, and violations of our freedoms. I need to visit ny grandma in pompton plains soon, and will feel so naked without my piece. Been carrying it literally everyday for years and only go to states that will honor reciprocity or constitutional carry
Great carry gun. Easy to conceal, narrow, and 3 mags. Paid under $300.00 new. I had to slide rear sight a little and it is very accurate. Only con is the price of extra mags. Walther makes great firearms and I love mine.
Thanks for a great video. I like the shootability of the PPS M2. The recoil impulse is smooth and allows for extended high round count range sessions. Mine went full auto and had to go back to Walther for servicing. I’ve had no problems since getting it back last year. I changed the sights and added a Galloway magazine extension for seven round capacity with reduced height to use in IDPA BUG.
I carry the PPS 40 cal. It is a great firearm that has been reliable. It is my hiking and camping gun, you can't go wrong with a 40, for wildlife defense. Out of all my firearms, the PPS is my favorite to carry. It feels good in the hands and it is accurate. I have thought about buying a PPS, M2 but waiting to see what happens with the PPS M3. It would be cool, if Walther came out with a double stack PPS 45 acp. That I would buy as soon as it hit the market.
I picked up one of these on sale from PSA back in '19 for just under $300 that included tax and a $10 transfer shipping was free. Initially I hated it but after toughing it out and shooting several hundred rounds through it I came to like it a lot. Night Sights: I installed a set of TruGlo Tritium Pro sights. the front sight uses a set screw. The rear sight must be drifted out from Left to Right as the OEM sight utilizes an expanding coil pin set into a one-way asymmetrical groove in the dovetail. You may then drift in whatever rear sight you choose from Right to Left. You don't need to re-use the coil pin during the install of night sight. CDNN Sports still has 6,7, and 8 round magazines in stock for a very fair price.
I have a PDP Compact and was looking for something smaller. I watched this video. You're right why put money into upgrades when you get a good gun out of the box. So yesterday I found a PSS M2 LE for $479. The top of the line for this model. I know Bass Pro price matches, so I found one on line for $405. Bass Pro matched that and gave me 5% above the price match which took another $20 off. I was also able to redeem my Bass Pro Credit Card points of $50. So I ended up getting mine for about $335 and I'm very happy. It came with a nice case, a 6 rd, 7 rd, and 8 rd magazine, plus night glo sights. Crazy good deal! I carried it all day in my belly band and it was super comfy. I'm lovin it. Great video.
I agree with your assessment. I tried the P365 and it was too small in my hand. I love my PPS. I heard a rumor that Walther is working on an increased capacity version that they plan to manufacture in the U.S. to get around the import point restrictions that made it impossible before, but given the complexities of setting up a new manufacturing line here I'm not holding my breath (also it's an internet rumor).
I recently got into Walthers. I have owned many many different handguns and have traded many of them. I got a barely used Q4 SF in December for a hell of a deal and since then, I have not wanted any other handguns other than Walthers. Bought a PPQ M2 a few weeks ago and a few days after that, I bought the PPS M2. I have yet to be disappointed with these. Have a P99 AS and a PDP on layaway now.
Glad you can appreciate my silliness! Lol! One of my favorite guns of all time for sure! Thanks for checking out and supporting the channel, really appreciate it!!!
Owned a PPS M2 LE for 4 years. Built like a mini tank and the 3 different mag capacities made it a versatile CC gun. The front yellow phosphoric dot fell out twice but Walther sent a replacement sight each time, but only after a little cajoling by me. 😁 Sold it last year and bought a Sig P365XL. You guessed it, for higher capacity and a flat, 90° breaking metal trigger instead of a plastic trigger and safety blade.
My man takes advantage of his tactical love handles and he says that accidents happen all the time and usually to people who say that could never happen to me and when it comes to appendix carry one slip of the finger 💥 could uproot your FAMILY TREE 😵💫
The PPS M2 LE pistol and three mags can handle almost any ammo brand or type of ammo. One exception that has been demonstrated on RUclips is the failure of Fort Scott TUI to feed. The ammo manufacturer thinks that their heavier grain bullets might not get caught in the split of the feed ramp as their original (lighter) grain bullets do. The fact that the PPS handles just about everything is a selling point. I would chose this over the CCP model which seems to be finicky about what ammo it can handle. The downside for some folks is that the PPS lacks mounting rails for a light and is not red-dot ready. For me, a simpler setup makes more sense for concealed carry self defense scenarios, so not being able to mount accessories isn’t a dealbreaker for me.
It appears that you can switch the mag release but in fact you can’t. That said, I quickly adapted to that issue, and love this gun. I had not shot a pistol in decades and thought it prudent to have a lesson. I showed up with my new PPS M2 LE, and the instructor broke out in a big smile, pulled out his PPS , left-handed of course.
I bought mine in January of 2016 and there's three definite things that I dislike about mine. The stock sights suck and need to be replaced (I'm looking at a red dot sight) and the strength needed to pull back the slide when jacking in a round means that MOST women and those without enough hand strength wouldn't like this gun either. And besides keeping it clean and lightly lubricated, I've shot hundreds of rounds through it and practice dry firing as well. Yet this thing is...difficult at best. I'd like to put a scale on that to see how many pounds of force that takes but I don't know where to start with that. All IMO of course. Oh ya, so I said there's three things I dislike. Come to find out that Walther HAS A RECALL on this (early numbered - see their website) pistol because supposedly it can go off if it's dropped. While I've never dropped any pistol (though I can remember a couple of them that I would've liked to throw...) ever in the 50+ years I've been shooting, I still realize that because of the potential DANGER IF it is dropped, I'll be sending it in to Walther as per the directions on their website so they can fix it. The trouble there?? It's the only pistol that I own right at the moment and I don't really want to see it go for at least a month leaving me with long guns only. I'd like to LOVE THAT GUN but that'll take more time and more money and even then that's not guaranteed. Maybe I should try the PPQ next...
I have owned my Walther PPS 40 for 6 years. It has been a great carry gun. I was shocked with how accurate it was. Over time putting rounds threw the pistol, the slide got way better racking a round. I don't keep my lightly lubricated, I make sure it is wet inside. I will do that with all my firearms. My PPS 40 I will never get rid of it. That is a gun that will stay in my collection forever. I see your comment was, from a year ago do you still have the Walther PPS?
@@MaxWell-h9u Yep I still have it. I put a new front sight on it and I bought a new spring kit and installed that as well. The sight is a huge improvement!! The spring kit is a bit more subtle but it's an improvement too. I sent that pistol in to Walther so they could do whatever they do, although they didn't punch mark my gun like they said they mark every one that they've looked at with a punch mark near where the clip goes in. I kept the paperwork and put it in it's box so besides wondering what they did if anything, I can prove that gun was returned to Walther and that they did do something to it but anything other then that and I'd be guessing. Although I've still never dropped a pistol or any other gun. Good to hear from you!!
@@chuxtuff Walther has good customer service. I'm sure that since you sent it to the factory, they did their job and fixed the problem. I wouldn't worry about it at all. I'm sure your firearm is good to go. Maybe when you sent your model in, it wasn't part of the recall, and that's why they didn't put the punch mark on your gun.

In terms of true subcompacts there’s nothing better than the PPS M2.
