Taylor had 16 fights in just over 4 years, before parting ways with Mcguigan. Since then - 2019 - he’s had 4 contests. In the same time, Catterall has fought 5 times. A combined 9 fights in 8+ years? Not PPV. These guys aren’t Leonard, Hearns, etc.

I had it 7-3 Mayer and I'd not be cheesed off with 6-4 but there's no way Jonas won that fight. I dont know why opponents even bother to fight UK fighters on their home soil. It always goes this way.
I think because they’re pushed into a corner to fight opponents on their soil. If you’re fighting Katie or someone like that, you don’t have much choice

@@powpow9560 I didn't have it close with a 7-3 victory to Mayer. The huge majority of people had Mayer winning, including these 2 muppets. The only ones who thought she won are the 2 judges, her trainer and all the biased scousers. So yeah I'd call it a robbery.
Boxxer have done a fantastic promotion for Jonas people seem scared of saying anything remotely critical about her and I just don't get it at all I don't see her as some great underdog I think her and Joe Gallagher are both full of it and have played the underdog narrative fantastically to avoid the Harper rematch and I thought Jonas post fight interview was awful especially when she was telling Mayer to not give up just so patronizing she just beat you up

The key issue is legal battle over Buatsi's contract as Matchroom claim he still owed them fights, you can't comment too much on legal cases. The rest is just Matchroom PR getting their mates at The Times to run PR stories like they did for Conor Benn. Nothing dodgy about those payments, just 1 side trying to dig up dirt over a wider totally separate issue

Mayer won the fight. She deserves an immediate rematch. Jonas should do the right thing. She is after the money, and fair play to her, she will get her wish as the rematch will be a bigger fight.

How come you see Opetai v Bivol a great fight at catch weight even though there's a 25lb difference in their respective weight classes. Yet there was dirt thrown over the idea of Eubank Jr dropping 3lb from his normal 160lb for his potential catch weight fight with Conor Benn please explain ?
No one really menitoned it here but Riakphore gonna smoke CBS. I remember a lot of ppl getting onto him for withdrawing from the IBF fight but i said at the time it makes sense. With Chris billam smith as champ (or okolie if he won), there's history, home soil, and a more likely chance for him to win compared to Opetaia, who would probs beat him. Glad he gonna get his chance
Jai Opetaia smashes any of the British light heavys and cruisers. Haney schools tank winning at least 10 rounds providing they don’t weight drain him down to 135 and have any silly life threatening rehydration clauses.

Too often we've had good fights spoiled by post fight debates around scoring and seeing the boxing media perform mental gymnastics to justify a result.
Open scoring system must be brought in. Puts accountability on judges in real time and the fighters will know where they stand and can adapt their approach

Was we watching the same fight? Mayer looked far stronger once she settled into the fight, which took 2-3 rounds. I dont agree at all that Jonas threw the bigger punches, the majority of her shots were just bouncing of Mayer. She deserves a rematch.

Jonus would jump in with a 3 or 4 punch combination to the body but there was no weight behind it, it looked fast and flashy but no damage, the damage was to Tasha's face and her head getting snapped back, unfortunately the Americans are at a disadvantage because they have to come to the UK for the money fights but it is instant disadvantage especially with scoring the 2 minute rounds

I think the best fight out there for Jonas has to be a rematch against Mayer. Id imagine would be decent money too. I would love it to be at a neutral venue, how realistic that is though i dunno maybe on the undercard of a Saudi card would be fair.
Spencers ringside sweet shop on fight night was attracting ladies all night !! 😂. But as I watched it live that night ,Spencer was agreed to mayer had won until the scores were read out and then said she deserved the win ?. But I found out that night all 3 judges sit on different sides of the ring !. So that would explain the scores sometimes as to what angle they see the fight from, especially when it comes down to a round or two

It was a clear Mayer win 7 rounds to 3 no doubt the fact that boxing fans who don't know each other nearly all have it 7-3 tells you everything Jonas didn't have the flashier punches at all most of her punches were hitting gloves! Is Opetaia fighting Bivol/Beterbiev not just the same as Conor Benn fighting Eubank? its certainly within the same realm of things and simon slagged that to death because it was a catchweight and he wanted them both to concentrate their minds and win titles in their own divisions, make your mind up simon... the only way it should happen is if both of them become undisputed in their respective divisions and THEN fight each other.
As for Joyce - he needs to get rid of Salas it was a terrible gameplan both fights from him - he should have closed the gap and turned it into a brawl intstead of trying to box the bigger man with faster hands!
