You’ve gotta love Carl… he’s misunderstood by the public as an arrogant prick, but once he engages in conversation, it’s clear that he’s just aware of his place in the world… a proper hard fucker, a great world champion, but with a ceiling on his ability that he’ll freely admit to and overcame with balls and resilience. Never anywhere near the best technically but nobody was tougher. Maybe juiced up Holyfield or coralles when he had the best comeback of all time. Or Emanuel Augustus vs Micky ward but even those guys I think would tip their hat to how tough Froch was!

What a quality interview! Simon’s my favourite host on talkSPORT, the way he ties people in knots and makes Jim White look a plonker on a regular basis is brilliant 😂

I like Simons straight forward style but he interjects/interrupts too much when Carl is talking. The fighters have the true insight into the physiological and technical side of fighting so let them finish a sentence.

agree with froch. Fury wants none of usyk , do not be fooled otherwise. Who would want to fight him? He’s a nightmare. Fury would much prefer fights with non boxers now.

@@bladerunner16 well past his prime ? Granted he wasn't in his absolute prime but he only had 3 losses at the the time he thought Joe 2 to tarver and 1 to Jermaine Taylor he also beat Felix trinidad before he thought Joe who is great fighter and won Joe calzaghe was also 35

19:00 - I very much agree with Carl on the whole maturity thing from a personal perspective. I think about a few things in my own life which I could have handled way better and in reality, I was a man in his late 20's lacking the emotional skills to deal with it. But, life is about growing and I am able to reflect back and see that. Plus, an older version of myself now is levels above my maturity at that time.

Thing about Carls toughness it is down to his determination & his genetics But he always fought at his proper weight, a weight he was strong at. Which is what fighters should do but often don’t, sometimes fight at catchweight or a higher weight. So Garcia for example was weak at that catchweight & thus weaker so thus can’t take the bodyshots.

Fury knows that if he doesn’t knock Usyk out, it is a 50/50 all of a sudden because theres no daylight between their boxing ability.
Usyk has never been knocked out.
Fury can’t stand the idea of tossing a coin…if he lost it would be absolute scenes.
The fight will never ever happen.
