FGC Tech: Razer Panthera Pro Cable Fix

- In this episode of FGC Tech I fix Greg's Razer Panthera Fight Stick. Razer decided to go it alone and not follow the standard Pro Cable pin-out found on many fight sticks including the TE2, TE2+, MLG controllers, and the Panzer Fight Stick. Maybe they thought it was better? Current events state otherwise as many Panthera owners have found their cables failing and Razer support hasn't provided any means to fix or replace just the cable.
In this video I go through the entire process, start to finish, on how to change the pinout of the pro-cable connector on the Panthera so you can use it with the Jasen's Customs Pro Cable (or any TE2/TE2+ pro cables) you have or want to buy.

Sir i have a question i have that same fight stick over 2 years now and the problem iam having with it is that sometimes is disconnects from the game and also 2 days ago it just stop working no power at all can you help with this problem?

Joel LeBlanc cables are a good place to start, they get the most wear.

Someone by chance has the page that he uses in the 3:20 part of the video to solder the cables, I see that he uses as a guide with some pages but I cannot find it anywhere ...
I made that guide while filming the video. I recommend pausing it, copying it, and using it ;)
Does the default razer wire still work after you do this mod or would it require another cable?
hi - no, it doesn’t. That’s the point of the mod. It lets you ditch the propriety cable that fails in favor of one that’s readily available like my pro cable :)

Hello Jasen, many thanks for your very helpful video. I own a Razer Panthera and the cable is broken. I have a GX12-5 plug. Is it correct to solder the pins in this way:
pin 1 (green): VCC
pin 2 (white): D-
pin 3 (red): D+
pin 4 (black): gnd
pin 5 (yellow): shield

Yes, but the pinout is different, hence the video to fix it. :)

how about switch pinout on the cable instead on a plate? (I don't understand electronics at all =) )
Razer uses standart pro cable connectors but swapped two wires to be unique and use-only-our-cable. Mod is for standartification with other pro cables.
Так как Ваш ник кириллицей написан, то по русски отвечу тоже: рейзер поменяли два провода местами чтобы стандартные про-кабели не подходили к их стикам, дядька замодил разъем на плате чтобы любые подходили
