Razer Panthera Evo
Hands down one of the most thorough reviews around, thank you for this info!
Thank you so much ❤️🙏
Its been a year since I got this stick, and honestly its my favourite thing I have ever gotten for gaming. Love this channel and am always happy to see new vids.
Man this guy is the most wholesome human I've ever seen
Thank you for your support 🙏❤️
Love for the community & product shows
Appreciate you ❤️
your work and time is much appreciated. I'm on the hunt for an arcade stick and your videos make it a lot easier for me to find the right one. Shout out from SAUDI ARABIA 🇸🇦 many thanks man !! 👍
Thank you brother, glad the videos are helping ❤️🙏
من وين بتشتري لك وحده لان المواقع السعودية ماش مافي شيء و امازون مقفل التوصيل وش الحل ابي وحده 🙃
m7md m7md sorry i am not sure in other country, try a local electronic store or game store ?
Nice review! Just bought it when it was on sale this holiday break thanks to you! It's been frustrating transitioning from pad but it's still fun!
Renaissancorskill its gonna take some time, its like playing the piano, once you get the movements down, you will be able do combos like reading music notes, u will see a combo and be able to replicate it easily 🙏❤️ thank you for watching
Renaissancorskill it seems hard at the beginning but when you get used to it it hella easy
@@JoystickNY yes like a piano 💘
Thanks so much for your review! It's nicely structured and very thorough in comparison to other vids on yt and u r the only one that actually gave a definite answer that the buttons are easily modable!
the Gamer glad it was helpful ❤️🙏 thank you for watching
Thank you for taking time to make this review! I have decided to go with this fightstick and will be modding it with sanwa buttons.
Thank you for watching ❤️🙏 i hope the sale is still on, it was on sale for 110$, if it is not on sale, i would say wait a little bit
@@JoystickNY already bought it in a heartbeat haha! Was using silent hayabusa for years but the buttons on it routinely gets stuck so it kinda left a bad taste in my mouth. Thanks for the break down now I know how to mod this fightstick, definitely one of the best purchase I have made thanks to your video :)
XIII OverDosed enjoy 🙏 happy gaming ❤️🎮🕹
Got one today for $200CAD! Your videos made it easier to make my decision, thanks mate
iAreDeekien glad it was helpful ❤️🙏
where? my god I only see them for $299 lol
cory6002 gamestop website has it, in usa site
Thank you so much for the videos, I found your channel recently and all your stuff is great! Keep up the good work! I just ordered a Razer Panthera Evo as my first stick so this video is very helpful and informative. I've learned so much about arcade sticks in such a short amount of time thanks to you! Much love from NJ
Bryze thank you ❤️🙏 i hope you got it with the sale price?
@@JoystickNY You're welcome, and yeah I found it on the Razer official site for $110 with free shipping. Ended up paying $107 after tax and a coupon! Very excited to learn on my first stick with Granblue Fantasy Versus when it comes to Steam tomorrow :)
Bryze thats really good deal👍
Happy New Year. It's cold as hell here in NYC❄️
SHIN BAKI HANMA so colddd lol, as i get older, i dont like the cold anymore 😂
JoyStickNY aww
TheRadKad Fazo thank you for watching 🙏
Just found your channel, very good videos. I just wanted to point out, that clear ring is also used in the mad catz TE2(+), the reason behind it is that once you put the plexiglass on, the buttons would be too low if they were plugged flush on the panel, so this is basically a way to avoid griding down the plexiglass everytime you change your buttons, while keeping the right height. I was too lazy to go through all the comments to see if anybody already talked about it so sorry if this is old news. Thanks for your dedication !
A few viewer mention it, and i also realized it after messing with it more, Thank you for taking the time to share 🙏❤️😊
I enjoy watching your videos. Really good reviews. Your video about the different sticks and buttons really helped me out as well. Great videos. Keep it up.
Thank you so much 🙏 glad they were helpful ❤️
@@JoystickNY I just picked up a TE2+. Because I felt like that was the one for me. I watched alot your videos to see the differences between alot of the sticks and buttons and that's the one I landed on.
The_Brok3n-_on3 - that is my one of favorite stick, this stick is going to be worth something down the road, its a classic from madcatz and one of the best sticks out there. As you see why daigo uses it mainly. Its a collectors item too.
I have one, this is only one that i could buy in my city in brazil, good to know how diferent buttons , thanks for review
ExplosionGamerHD thank you for watching ❤️🙏
I just bought this and was afraid the modding aspect of the stick would be a lot more difficult, I appreciate you showing that off only video I could find when it came to opening it up.👌 love the channel! - Fight Stick Noob
FlyingUppercat glad it helps, thank you for watching ❤️🙏
Michael C. Main yea, its a few diff types of screws in there. I dont know why they that extra stuff
Just brought this stick from the razer site for $98! This review really helped me learn a lot about my first stick.
cupcakeapplesauce when did you buy it ? I check before, it was sold out ❤️
@@JoystickNY I bought it mid march, they are already sold out unfortunately.
cupcakeapplesauce gotcha 🙏
@@JoystickNY I managed to get an EVO on the 29th April. It was OOS for a long time and I kept checking the site everyday. Maybe they had a return because as soon as I bought mine it was OOS again. Looks like the sale has finished now :( The stick seems a good deal for £80 ($99)
Mark James evo is also a very popular stick 👍
You’re one hell of a Street Fighter player, JoyStickNY. Very talented.
Emil thank you for the kind words 🙏❤️🕹
Panthera evo user here 🙋♂️, and the downside for me is that my right wrist always end up sitting on the edge of the curve while pushing the buttons and making me uncomfortable and if you're playing for long time it will hurt and give me bruise lol, so I ended up taking all the evo parts and put it to my old hori rap hayabusa and felt great because hori have shorter depth than evo so my hand just resting on the palm instead of my wrist.
Holy shit you're up to over 2.5k subs! I'm happy you're getting more attention, man. Your videos are just so pleasant.
EDIT: I could listen to you doing combo challenges with that stick for hours. It's like the ultimate form of ASMR for me; so gratifying.
Kevin B seems like a few of your comments are getting pass notification, i seems strange. At what number were you following this channel?
@@JoystickNY Somewhere back in the 250 sub range I think? I had been planning to make the transition to playing on a stick and your Qanba Drone video was one of the first I watched. Unforeseen circumstances meant I wasn't able to make the jump, but I hope to get the chance some day. Until then I'll keep enjoying your videos. ❤
The qanba drone is on sale on qanba usa for 49 and free shipping and no tax, actually a pretty good deal, if you are interested, check them out.
@@JoystickNY As much as I would like to I'm in a tight financial situation due to having to move back home and take care of a handicapped parent. But for now my pad is just fine for my needs - no locals around here! Thanks for the heads up either way. Just keep doing what you do my friend. :)
Can you please review Qanba Obsidian, I'm looking to buy one and found a used one currently. No other reviewers are as in depth and concise as you are.
SkyreeXScalabar if i see one on sale, i will probably pick one up, but if the stick you see is on cheap, i would say buy it. That is one of the best sticks out there, tournament level for sure, i have seen too many pros use it in tornaments
Arcade razer , the best ! Nice quality product ❤️💙❤️💙❤️💙❤️💙❤️
BSZ / Pretooun for sure 🙏❤️ enjoy, is going to be a great year for fighting games
Where were you when I was buying my first arcade stick!
You go through everything on the stick, unlike most reviews that are too in-depth for a casual player, but are too lackluster for the veteran. You just earned a new sub from me! I hope you review the Hori Fightingstick Alpha when it comes out.
Thank you for the support 🙏❤️
I recently got this stick before Christmas. On changing the lever, The Hayabusa will not fit easily due to plastic blocking it near the screws, If you change the plate horizontally you can fit it though you will only be able to fasten 3 screws instead of 4. Sanwa and Seimetsu levers all fit fine. You can get a Korean lever like the Myoungshin Fanta to mount IF you use the Golden Plate and Golden Collar from Arcade Stick Indonesia, I currently have that set up (Great for Tekken 7).
Triplekitty great info, thank you for letting us know, i havent swap the levers yet, but i use sanwa lever mainly, and hayabusa buttons, i would probably have to cut some plastic off to make it fit in that situation. 🙏❤️ thank you for watching
JoyStickNY thanks for the reply! Great Videos and Great Content! Keep it coming in 2020!
Triplekitty 🙏❤️ i usually edit at night and post videos before i sleep, and i love waking up to read and reply comments at work.
I've just watched your video comparing Sanwa, Hayabusa and Seimitsu joysticks. A video comparing their silent version of joysticks and buttons would be great. I'm trying to find someone using the modded version of Crown SDB-202 pushbuttons from Paradise Arcade but i cannot find it anywhere.
Angelo Batista do Nascimento i will add that to my list of videos to make, thank you. Eventually i will go thru most of them, its a just matter of time, if one day i can go part time, i can create content faster 🙏 thank you for watching
It actually works on PS3, i'm playing Capcom vs SNK 2 and DarkStalkers with it. Probably my Fav Stick!
It an amazing stick 👍❤️
Literally got mine today - nice man, love your vids keep it up
Thank you🙏, you got it on the sale?
JoyStickNY Yeah i got it brand new for about 140$ which was a steal - really good build quality and wanted to upgrade my F500 Elite which was a bit small
Kheriss thats good price, its the sale price that most people bought it for recently. Excellent stick 🕹👍❤️
Awesome review, I have been waiting for this!
🙏 Thank you for watching , took me some time to edit lol
In my country this ArcS is so expensive.. Like a 250 dollars y buy a mini drone Quanba by to half. But i chenge the all bottons for Sanwa and bat top to. But this kind of Arc stick are really nice!
Thats too expensive, maybe go for a cheaper stick and change the buttons your self ❤️🙏
So i just got this stick and its my first fight stick and the only 2 gripes I have (mind you these could just he newbie issues) is that the joystick doesnt seem to respond well to double movements for dashing and id like to adjust it to be a smaller range of movement to make tighter executions easier. Also I'm a bigger guy with big hands and (again it could he a newbie thing) the buttons are so sensitive that I press some of the buttons by accident but again that could be an execution issue. I got this particular fight stick for $125 so i wont complain. Again take my mini rant with a grain of salt as it could be an execution error on my behalf but anyone new to fight sticks could have this same issue.
Give it some time, i think over time, you will get used to it, my hayabusa buttons are super sensitives too, a light tap activates it ❤️🙏
@@JoystickNY yeah I saw your SFV video over being less stiff with my hands over the buttons and after doing that today ive noticed a difference but now I got MVC2 wrist now 😂😂😂 gonna take a break and get back to practicing Bnb combos later on DBFZ and MK11
Kage I’m thinking about getting a stick bro, are u getting used to it.... u think it’s worth it still
I honestly prefer the OG Panthera over the Evo. But if it had the removable plexi and the headset features of the Evo, it would've been perfect.
Sir Charles your right, the og panthera is still a better buy if they were the same price 👍
Quick question if you can't answer the question it's okay, Where Arcade cabinets aka Arcade sticks or Hitobox made before the paddle controllers aka Pad controllers?
ii Ahahy Bilaash i think controllers were first, and then variations of arcade sticks came after
@@JoystickNY Okay was wondering because a lot of ppl say Arcade cabinets aka Arcade sticks are cheating when I feel like arcade sticks or cabinets were intended for fightings games to be played on ever since they were established, and I thought since fightings been around for a very long time and so were arcade cabinets so I assumed they were made before paddle-like or pad controllers because back in the day the only to play games were in the arcade station I believe right?
ii Ahahy Bilaash thats a great question, i am gonna to look it up later tonight, very interesting, but i do remember seeing very old consoles with pads. So i assume pads were earlier, but i am gonna check it tonight lol.
Also, i probably wouldn’t consider it cheating, they both do the same thing, there is no advantage in either one. Though the hitbox may get some criticism because it offers some advantage over normal arcade sticks and pads
Just picked one up for $130. First fight stick trial.
Awesome video. Don’t have this stick... yet. You are really good at SFV. :)
B. O. Thank you ❤️🙏
my first mod I pull some sanwi buttons in and changed to Octagonal gate and added a bat top! To open this stick is a pain in the ass lol🤯
mindgame220 your right, its kinda hard to mod it cuz its in 2 pieces, usually all the parts are components are on one side. 🙏 thank you for watching, and i dont know how your comment got pass notification, i never got an email on it, but i usually come back to scroll down cuz that youtube sometimes misses comments
@@JoystickNY Do you know if Panthera evo can fit a Korean lever? I wanna try one out and recommendations? I'm a tekken player
mindgame220 sorry brother, i would have open it up again for you, but i dont have any korean levers at home, all i have are japanese parts, i will be going through korean parts once i finished all my japanese part videos
This was the best review I’ve ever seen for like..... anything. Subbed.
Appreciate the support ❤️🙏 thank you
i just bought this for 117.99 GBP can't wait for it to arrive🤩🤩
Thats a sweet deal 👍😊
Same! I even bought it on the same day funnily enough. Got dispatched early this morning
I bought mine for 150$ 😅
@@JoystickNY you should be sponsored by these joystick companies man you're by far the best joystick-related channel on youtube
Thank you, alot have of companies have reach out, but right now i have my own list of video i naturally want to make, i dont want to work with products or companies yet. Possibly down the road 🙏❤️
I ended up buying this, it came down to the Hori RapN or the EVO we don't get much choice in Australia. I went with the EVO because I wanted a sanwa lever, I'm new to arcade sticks and pretty heavy handed. Thanks for the awesome reviews ill be sure to watch your arcade stick guides.
Its a great stick, xian uses it in many tournaments and when he streams
razer had a deal today for this stick for $110 plus if you sign up for their email list you get 20%off so I got this stick for $96 including tax and shipping. Mine you I have the regular panthera and I love that stick. Couldnt pass on the deal.
fredo19 wow thats an amazing deal, enjoy my friend 🙏❤️
@@JoystickNY just found your channel a few days ago. Great job on the channel, love how you educated us on different thing. When i was watching the hori N review and you broke down the noir and viewlix layouts with the history behind it, thats when i hit subscribe. Awesome job.
fredo19 thank you 🙏 so much❤️ appreciate the detailed comment, it helps me create better content and do more of what people like to see 🕹👍
Whats is your microfone? Very good sound.
Thank you, i am using the rode video mic go. Its a pretty affordable mic for around 75. Its not too bad, but i heard the more expensive ones are better. ❤️🙏
Thanks, I had trouble removing the buttons.
David glad it was able to help 🙏
I ordered it through their website for 50% off. Got it. Hate it. I have a Razor panthera and it's amazing. This one feels cheap. I immediately switched the buttons out. The buttons were mushy and R1 was getting stuck.
Atleast it was only $130. The plus is that it's crazy light, its wide so you can rest it on your lap. And you can change the art. And it has a headphone jack
SistemaGaming i am sorry to hear you dont like it, maybe return it ? Its probably under the return policy days no?
Great review! Though way out of my budget. But I love how easy it looks to change the graphics on that panel.
Darwin Alcazar yea, abit expensive, there are good entry sticks out there around 50 too, check them out 🙏 and thank you for watching
Soooo...game stop has these for $130.00 I think I might pull the trigger!!
If they still have it , pick one up 🕹👍
Happy new years to you too! Love your reviews
Lautricius Maximus happy new year 🙏❤️and thank you for watching
I feel like this was misunderstood in a very confusing manner. The buttons sit on those clear rings so they're flush with the removeable top... If they weren't on rings, they would be inset. If they were just pressed into the removeable top, you would have to remove the buttons every time you want to change the graphic...
Thank you for sharing, this is what i like, the community sharing info back and forth 👍🕹🙏
Very in depth review, nice work. I bought the Evo on release and at first I thought it was a great upgrade, but now a few years later I have gone back to my old stick. The chassis does not fit my Seimitsu LS-40, the plate fits fine, but the unit is too large to sit inside. The plastic rings that are required to lift the buttons and keep them in place are very easy to break and lose when switching around, and the solution you gave of getting screw in buttons is what I had to do... but the 'nut' that holds the screw in place does not fit inside cleanly and I had to grind down the plastic. I have personally had issues with it not working on PS4 intermittently, and also the audio has had issues. Overall I would say that if you want a good stick out of the box, it is OK, but not if you plan on changing anything aside from artwork.
Thank you for the great information, well said 🙏
diggin that chinatown fair intro
Michael McGee thank you 🙏 i used to live there pretty much lol
I think you covered everything haha. Great review
Appreciate the love and support
i got one recently and i am not a fan the weight is bit odd a first but you get used to it but buttons are a pain to clean and need a flux out of the box and stick feels odd so adding an otto kit is almost an essential but at least golden lever fits inside it but no seimitsu :(
Ess Sound Diary yea, the weight can definitely be heavier, if it gets any lighter, then is no good, its border line right now to me.
Brilliant video mate. Thanks
WingedOcean thank you for watching 🙏❤️
Thanks for the help my friend.
G O thank you for watching 🙏❤️
@@JoystickNY After I saw this I pulled the trigger and got the Evo for $90.99 from razer.com. Supreme value!
What are your thoughts on hitbox by the way?
G O really good choice, amazing deal. If someone was to buy the parts separately, the sanwa lever is already 25$, and the buttons probably are 20$ total, that means its 45$ for the casing, pcb, eletronic components, cables, etc. i dont even think anyone can custom build a stick this nice for this price if you know what i mean 😂. About the hitbox, i havent tried it yet, but i will pick one up later on to review it, and to understand it, i have a pretty good idea in my head how its going to feel though, because i used to play keyboard a lot back then in emulator days. 🙏❤️
My girlfriend got me this while it was on sale on Razer's website for around $140 USD including tax. This is my first stick with a Sanwa lever and I do not like how loose it is, however, I am replacing it with a Seimetsu lever either the LS-32 or LS-56. I do not know how the LS-56 feels, if anyone knows how the LS-56 performs over the LS-32 please let me know, I like how tight the LS-32 is. It is a good stick I just wish the top plate was made of plexiglass, it is like a softer plastic. The buttons are fine, it was a weird decision to make the side buttons Sanwa, though. I would recommend this stick when it is on sale.
Vengeful Mosquito i wish my gf would get me a fight stick haha, thank you for watching 🙏 by the way, u dont have to get a new lever, you can change the spring on your sanwa lever to make it less loose. I am going to have a video on that soon. But by default, u r correct, seimitsu is tighter than sanwa right out of the box
@@JoystickNY Thank you for the reply. I started watching your vides and enjoy your in depth reviews. I am glad I found your channel. A video on how tot tighten the spring would be very helpful.
Vengeful Mosquito thank you, that video is on my list too, probably very soon 🙏
Thanks for ur review it’s helped me a lot to get a new pad !!! Much respect ✊
Iori yagami glad it was helpful 🙏 and thank you for watching
I liked the razer buttons for the duration of use I had with them, but when they started failing on me in that they became "sticky" and would get stuck, or I would get the button inputs buffered for two buttons even though I pressed the two buttons individually in order. So I just replaced them with sanwas. But I absolutely love the ergonomics of the sale, and its lightweight makes in very easy for travelling.
Ya they feel good to me too, feel very similar to sanwas 👍
I bought because of the deal razer has for $100 off. I’m a pad player and I still will play pad but I want to experience stick and try it out.
Hodgy thats a very good decision, always explore all options, becuz you never know, you may be really good in the stick 😊🕹
Have you ever completely disassembled the sanwa buttons? It’s very interesting design inside how it works with a spring and a BB. I have had to take mine completely apart and clean due to spills. Maybe a video idea how to disassemble the buttons and clean and reassemble. Yes you can just buy new ones but maybe you don’t want to wait to get new ones and it’s no so much trouble to disassemble with fine knife edge the black internal button mechanic. Over time I have noticed also the BB and metal posts have gotten corrupted and can be clean with toothbrush and a green scrubby on the BB. If you disassemble take care not to loose small bits. Suggest white cloth and maybe do on floor so parts can fall and bounce away.
Thank you for the detail info; i havent fully taken apart a button yet, maybe i should try it one day and see 🙏❤️
@@JoystickNY 😀. I could make it but your camera work and presentation is far superior to me 😍
Damn I just got the hori edge witch ain't bad bud I wish I knew of this channel first
That is a good stick, alot of people use it in tournament, its just that its abit expensive compare to other sticks. 🕹❤️🙏
Ooooh china town fair, used to go there when i was younger
Sad to see it go away 😢
U should review the etokki Omni for your next stick. Love the vids
Thank you 🙏❤️ they are on my list, i ll pick one later on if i see a sale 😊
Razer Atrox don't work on PC (Win10) ,i just bought it and the Razer support said so.
Mefi100% thats so strange, such a big company, i am going to look into that, thank you for letting us know 👍🙏
@@JoystickNY support.razer.com/console/razer-atrox-for-xbox-one/
The Razer Atrox for Xbox One can currently be used on Windows PCs with limited functionality. You will need to use the current Microsoft beta drivers for Xbox One controllers. However, at this time, Microsoft does not plan to have official drivers for Arcade Sticks and thus, Razer does not officially support the Atrox for Xbox One on Windows.
This "limited" funcionality means you lost HK and tripleK buttons on the stick. Others are working fine. But you cannot remap the controlls for arcade stick for example in SFV.
Mefi100% i dont mind not having the triple K, but do i get all 3 punches and 3 kicks? I usually just use the other 2
@@JoystickNY So you miss RT and LT buttons. Whats makes the stick unplayable.
I hope it wasn’t chipped or dented a little when dropping it slightly in the box
HCIbn luckily it was okay ❤️🙏 thank you for watching
Good review, just purchased one for myself as i transition from pad to stick....now for some humor, at 16:57...I heard that rippa XD
Blindman Cometh haha i dont even know what sound that was, prob not from my body haha 😂 either from leaning on the table legs or tripod legs or things rolling on table , good catch 😊🙏❤️
Question...can't u just put the clear washer underneath the panel? It's there to offset the buttons not sitting on top of the lexan cover. Just feed the wires through the washer and install button, plug in wires and slide the washer down past the retaining clips that hold the button in place.
Great channel...👍👍
Thank you, i realized the clear washer was to keep the buttons level with the acrylic panel 🕹🙏❤️
One of the best reviews I’ve ever watched on a fightstick. You have my follow! I watched this after buying one not knowing that the EVO existed lol. But doesnt the original panthera include a korean knob instead if the standard japanese knob?
You are correct, the panthera sometimes come with a extra bat top, they stopped for some batches tho, only for certain time period, i didnt get one for mine ❤️🙏
It does work on PS3. It's basically just works as a wired ps4 controller and those work with PS3
truelifedood300 oh really? I dont have a ps3, so i didnt get a chance to test. That is good to know, so it just plugs right in? No need to do anything extra?
@@JoystickNY Yep! Played all my ps3 fighting games with it.
truelifedood300 thank you, good to know, i am surprise they dont label it
@@JoystickNY Tbh, I think they didn't know wired ps4 controllers work on ps3 and I bet they didn't add the components specifically for it to be compatible so that's probably why
What people should focus on is that the EVO is not a downgrade/upgrade to the OG Panthera. Its a bit misleading since it has a 200$ price tag but is lacking in some quality of life stuff. Being able to easily access the innards is always a plus and second best is getting it in through one reliable way (bottom panel screws like in Obsidian, etc.) Needing to go through like how the EVO does it is a bit of an inconvenience. Granted the price premium goes up with mechanical buttons but even then experienced stick users go to gamerfinger or even Crown 202 for those types. The headphone jack is nice too but I think that option is more situational than a real quality upgrade. If it was regularly priced around similar sticks like the Qanba Crystal or HORI Rap N, it would definitely be a more tremendous value.
I agree, i think it should be price around 150, 200 is abit high for what it offers,
Comparing other sticks. 🙏 thank you for watching
Hey! china town fair, love that place but its not the same anymore as it was back then
latintiger yea, its no longer a real arcade, just social games now. I pass by it every week, and eat in chinatown quite often 🙏 thank you for watching
@@JoystickNY agreed i also stop by like once every couple of months mainly for the food and i do vist the place just to see whats new after that i go home
This doesn't seem much more expensive than the hori rap 4, the buttons sound better (in videos) than the rap 4 and it has some key features that i need that the rap 4 doesn't have (r3 and l3, headphone jack) so i'll think about getting this instead
Both great choice, cant go wrong with either one 👍😊
@@JoystickNY yeah both seems great to me
Hi. Awesome content. Good effort.
Do you know if the razer panthera dragon balls fighter z version, if it's the same as these 2 you reviewed?
It is the same as street fighter 5 panthera i reviewed 🙏❤️
Brother... ur store looks great!
Appreciate the love and support ❤️🙏
It is definitely a very good product.
But I think there are lots of bubbles in price for performance.
The only thing that's most appealing is the design.
Except for the design elements, the rest are easy and inexpensive parts mainly from Sanwa.
Razer Panthera lacks a lot of unique and attractive elements.
Bruce [인호놀이방] Jung i agree, the price is a bit high for this stick, hopefully razer will give us better and more stuff this year for the ps5 🙏 thank you for watching
@@JoystickNY Thank you for your kind reply, even though I have written my opinion aggressively about Panthera.
Bruce [인호놀이방] Jung its always good to hear from everyone’s opinion, thats how everyone and every product improves 👍
I actually JUST bought myself one of these the other day. I've always played on pad but wanted to try out a stick.
Would you say this is a good first venture into the world of playing on stick?
Bearslaps Slapp yes, once
You learn how to use it, you will love it, a lot of things are much easier to do ok the stick, you get a better experience with it 🙏 thank you for watching
@@JoystickNY Cheers for the reply mate!
Can't wait to get my hands on this thing and get stuck into it! Love your videos, the in depth look and the fact that you obviously know what you're talking about is really interesting and entertaining
Bearslaps Slapp thank you so much, i have a secret series coming soon maybe first episode in feb; maybe it will be interesting for you 😊🙏❤️ its not on sticks and parts. It will be a bit diff and still game related
hope it still works in the ps5
NERO yup me too 🙏❤️
@@JoystickNYhave faith ahaha
NERO if i see that stick go on sale, i ll probably pick one up too
Great video again. I'd love to hear your thoughts on the Nacon Daija too 👌
Gamer Tagged thank you ❤️🙏 i dont have the funds to buy it yet 😂 i’d love to try it one day. Maybe if it ever goes on sale, i can pick one up
I managed to pick one up for £70 UK due to a clearance sale. Very lucky.
Gamer Tagged wow thats an amazing deal 👍 i ll camp their sale from now on 😂
Seconded!
Nice review on the stick 👍 Try to review Nacon Daija Arcade stick. It has some similar features to the previous Razer Panthera but also has an easy mod to artwork.
Thank you, i would love to pick one up if they have a sale, looks like a cool stick ❤️🙏
Ahh the good old days of just having a cold 🙄
Thank you for dropping by 😊
Just picked one up that was heavily discounted, it’s my first stick. How well has it held up since your review?
Its been good so far, tho i dont use it that much, i mainly use the hori rap4 as my daily driver, i will change the artwork on that later on and use it more ❤️🙏
JoyStickNY do you prefer the regular panthera or the Panthera Evo? I’m kinda tempted for the panthera since it’s easily moddable, but the Evo has Razer made custom buttons which is tempting, but I heard it’s really hard to open up
JoyStickNY also can you change the artwork on the razer Panthera? I really like the one you have, the artwork of Ryu and Akuma staring down
Ali Shirzad if they price is the same, go for the regular panthera, if the evo is like 30- 50$ cheaper, get the evo, its hard to open, but is not a big deal 🙏❤️
Ali Shirzad you can, but u will have to destroy the original artwork, it is not designed to be changed, u will need a heat gun or blow dry; its too much hassle
Can you do a review and demo of the X-arcade tankstick with trackball?
Rube if i ever get a chance to pick one up, yes. If they ever go on sale 🙏❤️ thank you
Yo kinda off topic, but what platform you running street fighter third strike on than runs that good? Loved the review by the way.
ThePurpleGamer in this video, that is the 30th anniversary for ps4. It has known issue, dont buy it. It has input issues. Sometimes inputs doesnt register. I also have 3rd strike on xbox 360, depending on what i want to show, i will switch back and forth, I think even the pc version inputs issues.
@@JoystickNY ok thanks
How about the original Razer Panthera with ps3 compatibility
Allen's Gaming, Unboxing, Tips ATBP. That one is still a better stick; for the same price, i would get the og panthera over the evo. Basically go with which ever is cheap or on sale
I think the clear rings on the buttons make it more level with the plexi, because most plexi is placed under the button while this plexi is placed around the buttons. They must have designed it like that to make it faster to change out the art without needing to remove the buttons first. Even if the buttons did fit snug without the ring, your fingertips might scrape against the plexi if the buttons sit too low but idk, might be worth testing with screw-ins.
Thats actually a really good point, i think if they were thinking it like that, i think they shouldnt have designed that way, becuz people swap buttons way more often than artwork. And now they created a extra problem that future buttons require an additional ring inorder to fit the EVO. I would rather take an extra step to change the artwork and have 1 less problem to worry about.
If you know what i mean.
Nice! I’ve been thinking of getting the Panthera Evo, right now I have the Panthera Dragon ball FighterZ version
Gun Fighter your panthera is better actually, you dont need to buy this one. Save the money for a ps5 stick later on 🙏❤️
JoyStickNY what makes the panthera regular better than the panthera evo?
Sabnova3415 1. a bigger and heavier body 2. Detachable cable 3.easy access to internal with kick stand 4. Feel more premium 5. And it has premium sanwa buttons. Evo has razer buttons
Just picked one up for $110.99 on Amazon
RainofPain98 wow thats an amazing deal, i got mine for 129, 🙏❤️ enjoy it
RainofPain98 i will post this and let others know, thank you for sharing.
very helpful video. thank you, homie!
Thank you for dropping by 🙏❤️
This was probably asked to you a million times, but if I'm starting out on fightsticks and have no preference whatsoever which stick should I go with, Evo or original Panthera? All sticks are on sale on the Razer Store, but the only one that isn't out of stock is the Panthera Marvel vs Capcom Infinite Edition. I've been more on the Evo version side (just feel like its more noob friendly I guess), but I don't think it will be on stock before the sales end.
Agressive Pigeon the original panthera is the better stick, becuz you get easy access to internal, the evo has a lot of screws to get in, but not a big deal, because how often do we actually go in there anyway. Not much, but if they are the same price, go for the panthera, they evo is 30-50$ cheap, u can go for the evo, the evo doesnt use sanwa buttons, those are razer buttons tho, but they are not bad
@@JoystickNY Thank you for the quick answer :) I went with the Panthera, after watching many discussions about it I think the heavier weight suits me better, and as a fightstick noob being easier to replace buttons once needed is a plus. Really pumped to start learning stick, your videos were a real deciding factor
Agressive Pigeon glad to help 👍🕹
Hey thanks for putting this together, it’s really helpful. Definitely see you as the go to channel for arcade stick guides.
Would you know if I can install silencer foam pads in the buttons? I’m considering buying them to make the buttons quieter.
That i am not sure, becuz u love noises, i would google around
Nice video. Great work showing off the stick both in terms of general use and modding/internals. I have no interest in getting another fight stick but this was an interesting watch nevertheless.
IxianMace thank you for watching, i will have other content coming soon, it will not he about fight stick maybe next month 🙏❤️
happy new years 2021 to you too!!
Happy new years, thank you ❤️🙏
great review.
Kof Mania thank you ❤️🙏 your profile pic is my main in kof 2002
Getting my first stick and I'm thinking about the Mayflash f500 elite for my Switch and PS4, but I found this for the same price. Should I get this and a Brook converter later on?
Tonto the mayflash should support the switch by default via the usb-c cable that comes with, you may not need a brook converter ❤️🙏
@@JoystickNY I only have sfv on PS4 everything else is on Switch(30th ann, MK11 etc), but I think I'd rather have the better quality stick and get a converter later on instead of getting a stick that's not as good but doesn't need a converter. So it sounds like the Razer would be the better stick quality wise right? Thank you so much for the help! Shout from Binghamton!
Tonto thats a good idea, i would go for the razer too, but wait for a sale if you can wait 🕹👍
@@JoystickNY Okay thank you so much for the help!!!
Great review. Recently discovered your channel and wondering if you have any experience using this on PC? I found a really good price and I’m not sure if I should get it. Thanks.
I am pretty sure it works on pc, even tho i play on ps4, i have not used it on pc, this is one of the top sticks out there, u wont have a less enjoyable than other stick with this one ❤️🙏
JoyStickNY Thanks for your quick response. I found this one for 129$ from GameStop and I managed to find a brand new Razer Panthera Street Fighter V on Amazon for 199$. Couldn’t decide on which one to buy so I bought both. I watched your other video on that one as well. I’m late getting into SFV and hope these will still work when Street Fighter 6 comes out. Also patiently waiting for Diablo 4 to come out. Thanks again for your videos.
TheCe1ticZombie same here, i played diablo 1/2/3, pretty had the best gears in 2 and 3, and sold all in auction house before the update. If you want to save money, keep the evo, if you want to buy it as a collectors edition, then keep the sf5, that one probably be going on sale again, i think only private seller sells them now.
JoyStickNY Just wanted to let you know that the Razer online store has the Panthera Street Fighter V Edition in stock for 159.99$. I bought mine on amazon for 199$ two weeks ago 😕. If u know anyone that’s looking to pick one up. Haven’t had much time to use mine but I’m still glad I bought both of them. Later.
TheCe1ticZombie thank you for letting me know, let me check it out right now ❤️🙏
Can I put the little foam into the razer buttons?? Im merried and I have a kid so I need those buttons silent😂
gansterkof17 you can, its actually a pretty common practice people do, and when you buy those silent buttons from sanwa, its pretty much a foam washer inside, in my opinion, it just sacrifice a little bit of the gaming experience, thats all 👍
@@JoystickNY but I already have the foam separately, I dont want to buy new buttons 😢 well thank you for answering me
Make a video on hori 129 plz
I ll pick one up if i see a cheaper one, i think this one is japan exclusive, its very expensive in the usa ❤️🙏
fantastic review!! 👍👍👏👏
Fabricio Milanese thank you so much ❤️🙏🕹
was wondering if you would possibly do a review on the madcatz sfxt pro???
I believe that stick is for ps3, sorry i dont have a ps3 🙏
i want to buy my first arcade shortly but couldnt find out what is actually the best...despite personal preferences of all the enthusiast players :D What would you recommend? price does NOT matter !
Robert Greiner haha 😂 i like that “price does not matter” 😊 i recommend saving the money for a ps5 stick, its going to most likey to be backward compatible with ps4. But if you really want a stick now, get something cheap like qanba drone , let me know
@@JoystickNY i am between the Hori Real Arcade Pro 4 Kai and the Razer Panthera (not EVO). what do you think?
Robert Greiner hori Rap 4 is hayabusa, i m not sure if you will like it, because sanwa is more popular and common.
Razer panthera is all sanwa and have easy access to internal, i see this stick in tournaments a lot.
I like the rap4 for daily use at home becuz is light and i personally use Hayabusa parts, i think most people would go for the razer, its a better stick and offers more features.
But u r going to spend a lot before a ps5 drop, you don want to wait?
@@JoystickNY i think i will not buy a ps5. I will use it for ps4 and emulation stuff. Or do you think there will come out new models for ps5 with downward compatibility soon? I just see that the panthera is not available anymore...
Robert Greiner then you should be okay with ps4 stick if you dont plan to buy ps5.
Most like a ps5 stick will be backward compatible with ps4. The ps5 should be releasing in the 4th quarter of 2020
hey i was wondering, how do you generally clean the plexiglass on a arcade stick? After using mine for a couple hours, i notice fingerprint build and was wondering the best way to clean this. Amazon sells this cleaner (called Brillianize Plastic and Glass Cleaning Kit with Microsuede Polishing Cloth) and I was wondering if this would work on on fightstick. For now I just been using a little warm water on the microfiber cloth that I use to clean my glasses. I just want to make sure I dont ruin the plexi or the art. Also worth noting that i have the hori soul calibur edition stick which is basically a rap n. Also great video as always!
the elusive meme i simply just use water, its mostly dust and oil, but over time the plastic or plaxi eventually use scratch up , if they are not too expensive. U can buy a replacement for it,
@@JoystickNY okay thanks. My only problem is I dont think I can get a replacement plexi since its the soulcalibur edition stick. I haven't opened the front of the stick but it almost seems like the plexi, art, and panel are stuck together. But idk, its my first stick.
the elusive meme the rap N soul calibur one ?
@@JoystickNY yes, but from what I understand from what I just started reading that this stick has no plexi, its just the art attached to the metal plate. Idk its wierd.
I think i would have to buy a whole new panel and plexi if I wanted to make sure the stock art stayed in perfect condition.
Just bought it for $140! Down from 200
Good deal 👍🕹 very reasonable price
Great review, picked up this stick a week ago as my first and I can't wait to start using it
A question, I was just wondering if it's possible to replace the PCB with a Brook UFB? I have no knowledge on any kind of stick modding for now, I realize replacing the joystick and buttons is probably really easy, but I want to be able to replace the stock PCB for something that will last permanently, I have no idea if replacing the PCB is possible on any pre-built arcade stick so I'm asking for curiosity's sake. Sometimes I play DBFZ casually at a friend's house, which he owns on Xbox One, I wanna be able to play with him on this stick, but am not able to because the Panthera is not compatible
When the stick was opened, I noticed what looked like a screw on the PCB, which looks like it can be removed as long as you're careful, I'm not sure if doing this will have an effect on the LS DP RS switch, the tournament lock, and/or the headphone jack, which I would be okay with losing as long as I can get a Brook UFB to fit. I don't know if there are any other viable alternatives to making my stick compatible on more devices and consoles without noticeably increasing latency. If modding the PCB is not possible, I can see myself buying an Etokki Omni sometime in the future
Thanks in advance!
I havent done it my self but i believe its possible, here 2 links u can check out

And i think most importantly, u just have to make sure there is enough room, as the evo is quite flat
@@JoystickNY Thanks for letting me know =)
Another excellent video! Iv got the Razer Panthera Street Fighter 5 stick. And recently after using it and Madcatz arcade sticks and Hori RAP Pro iv come to realise that my game improves when I use my Hori RAP because of the Hayabusa joystick. Just wanted to know if I can install a Hayabusa joystick on the Razer Panthera SF5 arcade stick? Thanks again for your very insightful video 👍
From what i remember, it will fit, there is plenty of room and they share the same mount screws
I couldn't pull those connectors off for the life of me lol
Use the plier 😊🕹
EVO editions price may be half cheaper cuz of material
Yup This stick should be price cheaper than the original panthera
