    I'm a simple guy. I see Terra Ware video, I click. If we're CPU bound, then this game must only be using a few cores properly. Unless it's just the RT cores that are being maxed out. It's really a weird situation.

      @HankBaxter both is probably true, if it weren't maxing out RT cores, the 4090 would not be faster. But the game is known for being singlethreaded as well.

    Experiment with the am5 platform to see if u are cpu "cpu bottlnecked". In some games especially when raytrainng is on running with faster ram speed/tune can show higher perf, as the ram will make the cpu to wait. x3d cpus have big l3 cache so it does not need to access the ram as often as the non x3d cpus but the perf uplift may still be there. Another thing is to oc the cpu with the blck, that option is present on a very few motherboards, easiest it to get an high end x670 asus or the gigabyte b650e master.

    This video was very interesting to make and quite unique from a GPU utilization perspective. Especially the 1440P section where the XTX and 3080Ti appear to be CPU/System bound but than the RTX 4090 pulls way ahead in FPS.

    Great video. The mod looked amazing in the DF video but still seems to have a lot of issues, I guess that's why it's not official. This game always ran poorly on the 7900 XTX imo, can I ask if FSR actually works for you? Back around launch FSR barely got you any performance even at 4k. I want to check out the mod but I don't want to reinstall the game since it takes up so much space.

      Yeah it barely worked at launch but it seemed to increase FPS a bit this time although I didn't think to examine it more closely.

    Well, got a 3080ti watercooled, playing 4K with 13900ks
    With RT on Max I get 60-90 fps…

    this just makes me think that forza motorsport is terribly optimized as it can't even utilize the gpus properly

    How the fuck are you CPU bound at native 4K with RT with a 3080 Ti/7900 XTX? This game is absolute meme and I'm glad that I uninstalled it a long time ago. JFC.

      Well that's what I thought because it looks like being CPU bound but skip to 2:17 where I compare the 4090 and XTX and 4090 is like 40 to 50% ahead.
      If it was a true CPU limit the FPS would be the same right? All GPUs aren't fully utilized with this mod though. It's very interesting.

      The game is a meme, but not for this reason. The mod changes a lot of settings, including draw distance/LOD. Meaning cpu load is a lot higher due to significantly more objects being loaded at once.

      @whatistruth_1 This makes sense. We know a lot more of a load is added to the processor with the mod. I still find it interesting that the 4090s is able to pull way ahead of the 7900XTX and 3080ti which perform very similar and below 90% GPU utilization.
      Are they maybe maxing out on their RT capabilities and the 4090 has much more RT processing power?
      That still kind of doesn't ad up because the GPUs aren't maxing out. Classic CPU bound scenario surface level.

      @@TerraWare Not maxing out doesn't mean it's fully cpu bound.
      The frametimes are just overlapping. It's cpu and gpu bound. Means it's a well balanced workload.
      This is why I'd recommend using the latest versions of RTSS/Afterburner which have presentmon support. That way you can see the cpu and gpu busy frametimes.
      It's also why I wish we'd move past framerates and discuss everything in frametimes. They make much more sense. Framerate isn't real, only the time to render frames.
