This beast eats other elder dragons. The awesome and terrifying part is where each elder dragon has some mastery of an element or something similar. This guy only has pure. Brute. Force. That and stupidly fast healing. Which pays into his brute force.
+TheXIIIth "fast healing"? I didn't see any, because it dies pretty fast. Maybe you mean his spikes' regeneration, not healing. The only healing a monster tries to do is by sleeping.

Which implies that those first five horn notes, that always play whenever Nergi shows up both in gameplay and in cutscenes (even in in Stories 2, where his actual battle theme is absent), everyone present ACTUALLY hears them in-universe.
To be fair, the client could have just been having a panic attack, and they used that to reference the song. There's literally no reason or means for the horns to actually play in-universe.

That's what i like about him. His design is soooo cool. Much like us, we want to beat down elder dragons. But this guy is also smart enough to know what side to pick on, or how to hunt its one meal. This will also always be known as Gunlance's Theme to me, personally. My first ill-fated run, using Fate's Ember (Odogaron's Light Bowgun), against Nigel got me absolutely flattened (my second failed quest ever, first one being my first run against low-rank Diablos and for somewhat similar attack pattern-based reasons). After that, I built a Kadachi Striker (Tobi's Thunder element Gunlance), upgraded it and built armor (High Metal waist, Anja legs, Lumu arms, Ingot head) with Capacity Boost, maxed Artillery and some Thunder Attack to compliment it and easily beat Nigel on my second attempt. *BOY* can you block some absolute crap with a Gunlance's shield, and shelling (plus Wyvern's Fire and Wyrmstake's explosion, I believe) ignores his spike's insane defense boost (for comparison: using Fate's Ember everything I tried was doing low single digit damage per hit, using Kadachi Striker+ I was dealing 30~ damage a shell constantly plus it seems to have low Wyvern's Fire recharge time).
It doesn't feel like his theme unless I also hear his roar 2 seconds into it. Only then does it feel complete and I feel like going toe-to-toe with my favorite monster hunt.
Commander: “welcone to astera let’s see how tough you are” Me: “how tough i am? I’ve beaten nergigante” Commander: “and then?” Me: “with flashfly cage gadget” Commander: “welcome” Faint twice as the result
If anything.this beast is the tigrex of elder dragons. Both dont have an associated element and rely on sheer brute force. And they're also lightning fast all things considered......
sorry im new to MH series so i never saw it coming :< friend already told me "it have 4 legs and 2 wings? its elder dragon, dont even try to catch it. exception is gore magala, its a stupid larva"
The Elder Dragon classification is a lot less/more complicated than just number of limbs. An Elder Dragon is just a monster that the Guild cannot classify under any of the existing monster families, such as Flying Wyvern, Fanged Wyvern, Carapaceon, etc. That's why Kirin is considered an Elder Dragon. Because it doesn't fit any of the existing categories enough, so they just lump it in with the rest of the freaks of nature like Dalamadur and Yama Tsukami.
According to Wikis I've been reading, Nergi can get exhausted unlike other elder dragons. This gave me the idea that beyond this whole elder dragon eating stuff, Nergi is still a normal monster. One that can get tired after using too much energy. This thing may eat elder dragons but they themself aren't completely ready for the title yet. I'm not too sure about ruiner but it's my belief that it's nergi's transition of becoming an actual elder dragon, a new incredibly dangerous force in the ecosystem.
The funny thing is that while Nergi can get 'tired' it's still an alien creature and thus is still an Elder Dragon: -Nergigante goes ONLY after Elder Dragons based on the theory that it feasts off the bioenergy the dragons produce. -Nergigante isn't a he or she, it's asexual and reproduces asexually via its spikes, which contain cells that will eventually grow into copies of Nergigante -Nergigante regenerates spikes and armor swiftly - and constantly, necessitating combat to shed excess spines, which coincidentally makes fighting Elder Dragons far more valuable an investment. Basically, Nergigante is presumably capable of making mincemeat out of most of the Elder Dragons, though I think a general consensus is that certain monsters such as Safi'Jiivah, Alatreon and Fatalis would still curbstomp the Eater of Elders.
Kirin: I will summon thunderstorms to smite you! Kushala: My winds will rend yiu apart! Teostra/Lunastra: Our heat will reduce you to cinders! Nergigante: *I'VE COME TO RUN THEM ROUNDS F*CKBOI, NOW PUT EM UP*
You know, he was a massive pain in my backside... But at the end of the day, he is nature's enforcer... An I respect him for that. Now that doesn't mean I don't want to hit him upside the head with my charge blade though!
Pretty sure he only does his flying slam which I refer to as double edge when ALL of his limbs are covered in black spikes so you might be able to delay it by breaking the spikes off but thats only temporary and besides you NEED TO SEVER HIS FUCKING TAIL.
Best advice I can give for his story fight: get some uragaan armor pieces and make use of buff items like adamant/might seeds. Remember that you have 50 minutes, don't rush the fight.
First encounter Low rank : wow what is that? Looks badass High rank : asdfghjkl HELPPPPPPP Master rank : Why hello there. I must praise you for being brave enough to come near me
It adds to its charm, actually. You KNOW he can jump and pounce at you. But at other times he is seemingly playful because this guy has some similarities with cats (AKA it has cute toebeans and like cats, they play with their food when they know they can't do jack shiz against them.)
maybe it's the obvious orchestral and cymbals playing, but something about this track feels so "disney villain", the old straight evil by nature, like they wanted to make a simple and brutal bad guy
I’m that one guy on you’re team (not in the video) that is using a hunting horn because they thought it was like a hammer but the just suck with they hunt horn
I liked using the lance...but this fight made LOVE using the lance. Watching your friends running and diving for cover while you stand there ready to eat that divebomb like captain crunch.
The sheer cockiness of Palicos is kind of my favorite thing. "I GOT A LITTLE TANK-CART THING! COME AND GET SOME, MEOWNSTER!" That is an Elder that eats Elders, and cat-friend don't give a single fuck.
Who else can hear Nergegante roar at the beginning of the theme. I swear I fought that thing so many God damn times that whenever I hear this theme I can also hear the roar at the beginning.
Bro this song is sooo nostalgic I remember fighting it with my big brother and his friends and half of us just bayblading on his back like Levi while one of us just puts bombs and tries to predict where he will go to just destroy him like demo man
Whereas Deviljho is the invader for large monsters, Nerg is the invader for elder dragons. Though admittedly there is nothing more satisfying than seeing this big guy pile drive a Kushala to the ground, or cause a Teostra or Lunastra to literally explode its supernova on everyone's faces and then tossing them like they're nothing. He really is one angry boy.
I respect this dude for not having any element whatsoever and kicking ass with just brute force alone.

Grab your vitality mantles and be ready to dive
Gunlance is a perfect bullshit counter to Nergigante's screen-killing bullshit.
i heard this theme over 100 times. GIVE ME THE DAMN GEM!
A Local Hedgehog Mad after being annoyed by Ant
It doesn't feel like his theme unless I also hear his roar 2 seconds into it. Only then does it feel complete and I feel like going toe-to-toe with my favorite monster hunt.
nergigante going after zorah magdaros is the definition of "Nah, I'd win"
"The Powerful Beast from the East" The Nergigante!
.... To the west!
Commander: “welcone to astera let’s see how tough you are”
Me: “how tough i am? I’ve beaten nergigante”
Commander: “and then?”
Me: “with flashfly cage gadget”
Commander: “welcome”
Faint twice as the result
Nergi such a beast. Just took him down myself >.< his attacks and speed are a little insane and immunity to traps is...ugh
DDkiki Furolo
Well.. he is considered an elder dragon. And all elder dragons are unaffected by traps
If anything.this beast is the tigrex of elder dragons. Both dont have an associated element and rely on sheer brute force. And they're also lightning fast all things considered......
sorry im new to MH series so i never saw it coming :<
friend already told me "it have 4 legs and 2 wings? its elder dragon, dont even try to catch it. exception is gore magala, its a stupid larva"
DDkiki Furolo hit & run, that's what I did. Dual Blades user.
The funny thing is that while Nergi can get 'tired' it's still an alien creature and thus is still an Elder Dragon:
-Nergigante goes ONLY after Elder Dragons based on the theory that it feasts off the bioenergy the dragons produce.
-Nergigante isn't a he or she, it's asexual and reproduces asexually via its spikes, which contain cells that will eventually grow into copies of Nergigante
-Nergigante regenerates spikes and armor swiftly - and constantly, necessitating combat to shed excess spines, which coincidentally makes fighting Elder Dragons far more valuable an investment.
Basically, Nergigante is presumably capable of making mincemeat out of most of the Elder Dragons, though I think a general consensus is that certain monsters such as Safi'Jiivah, Alatreon and Fatalis would still curbstomp the Eater of Elders.
I’d put the eater of elders just below land shapers like shara ishvalda with the “black dragons” at the top
Yeah the chief ecologist in world specifies that he's not a true elder dragon, just an unclassified monster that got put into that category
*Nergigante shows up*
Omiawamo Shinderu!
*stands there*
BRING IT ON BAD BOY!
*draws hammer*
NANI?!
When you feed the gremlin past midnight.
And the tutorial ends here, good luck (you'll need it)
watching someone else play Bow is like watching someone else drive your car...
He is the king of Elder Dragons in my opinion.
I agree
0:13 i love this heroic music there :D
Kirin: I will summon thunderstorms to smite you!
Kushala: My winds will rend yiu apart!
Teostra/Lunastra: Our heat will reduce you to cinders!
Nergigante: *I'VE COME TO RUN THEM ROUNDS F*CKBOI, NOW PUT EM UP*
Nergigante woke up every day and choose violence
Spyro-gante. His roar makes me piss the bed.
Da faq?!? Purple gante?!?
Probably the most aggressive monster. Sure rajang is supposed to be the “most” but I feel this guys furry more.
Nergigante is actually like Monsterverse Godzilla
You know, he was a massive pain in my backside... But at the end of the day, he is nature's enforcer... An I respect him for that. Now that doesn't mean I don't want to hit him upside the head with my charge blade though!
"Hey kid. Do you like instakills?"
Pretty sure he only does his flying slam which I refer to as double edge when ALL of his limbs are covered in black spikes so you might be able to delay it by breaking the spikes off but thats only temporary and besides you NEED TO SEVER HIS FUCKING TAIL.
One of the hardest monsters I've ever fought
When I first saw this thing back in the first Zorah raid, I thought for reals it would be the final boss.
Now I'm stuck on it.
also known as the theme of death, over, and over again
the theme is called "when elder dragons tremble"
You misspelled it. It's "even elder dragon's tremble" buddy :)
Best advice I can give for his story fight: get some uragaan armor pieces and make use of buff items like adamant/might seeds. Remember that you have 50 minutes, don't rush the fight.
This is the most macho Elder Dragon/monster I've ever seen.
Nergigante is thé honey badgers of the elder dragons
Ah yes, also known as “HOW THE FUCK DID THAT HIT ME”
Never getting used to the bow in MH, it feels like another fucking game. So awesome
A lot of thought went into the competition of this. Especially the choice of instruments
The sheer terror this theme gives me makes me physically sweat knowing I've screamed DIVE BOMB MOVE so many times to watch an entire team get folded 😂
This dude has the sickest turf wars.
When he slams Lunastra into the ground and she literally explodes, just perfect
First encounter
Low rank : wow what is that? Looks badass
High rank : asdfghjkl HELPPPPPPP
Master rank : Why hello there. I must praise you for being brave enough to come near me
Picture they bring nergigante into rise, but they don’t tell us and made him a invader and he just dive bombs into the monster we are hunting
Play this over with his kinship right before it starts. It fits perfectly
I think Nergi should be moving a little bit more and faster than this. It feels like he's only playing with us, idk.
It adds to its charm, actually. You KNOW he can jump and pounce at you. But at other times he is seemingly playful because this guy has some similarities with cats (AKA it has cute toebeans and like cats, they play with their food when they know they can't do jack shiz against them.)
his theme feels like old kaiju movies soundtrack
absolutely unequivocally iconic
The divebomb be like
*come on and slam, and WELCOME TO THE JAM*
maybe it's the obvious orchestral and cymbals playing, but something about this track feels so "disney villain", the old straight evil by nature, like they wanted to make a simple and brutal bad guy
The theme song of having your wedding crashed by Nergigante.
Such a brute!
I’m that one guy on you’re team (not in the video) that is using a hunting horn because they thought it was like a hammer but the just suck with they hunt horn
i remember when i was such a noob that i did not know that sharpening could help you.
0:54-1:19 is my favourite part of this theme
Саундтрек отсылает к советскому мультфильму Маугли студии Союзмультфильм . Кстати , саундтрек написала Софья Губайдулина .
I’ve lost to him over 40 times and I’m close to just giving up
The best part about the nergigante is that he can just heal Jim self
Those strings have literally haunted me in my sleep.
COME AND GET SOME, MEOWNSTER!" That is an Elder that eats Elders, and cat-friend don't give a single fuck.
if every elder dragon controls an element nergs element is violence
I've heard jokes about DOOM's ost, but *_ANGRY MUSIC INTENSIFIES_*
Guess who in stories 2.
Who would win, a spikey elder dragon that eats other elder dragons vs one yellow bio
I cannot wait to battle this absolute BEAST
One angry hungry boi
This theme is so damn epic!!! 😤😤😤 that 0:13 trompets hits hards asf
This Theme is GOATED 🐐🐐🐐👈
Ah that Nergigante Dive. Dodging that made you feel like a god.
Best Elder Dragon, wow.
