Nergigante has paws like cats, no thumbs. I'm 99% certain Capcom used cats as reference for how those forelimbs work. Next time you take one down go look at it's forelimbs, you can even see the distinct cat paw and paw pads and independent toes match a cats.

I just replayed the game and i had the exact same idea. After killing Nargigante the handler said that the poor elder dragons can now live in peace, you know the monsters with incredible destructive powers that do anything BUT live in peace!
I hate the Handler so much.

@@ky1i316 Relax Nergigante can reproduce asexually through the spikes it grows on it's body so everytime it dive bombs and launches it's spikes all over the place a billion Nergigante babies are born (which is utterly terrifying IMO😅)

Well Rajang doesn't really have that high level of destruction compared to other Elder Dragons sometimes. I think that's why.

They're probably tied to the "ancient monsters" which are basically the ancestors all monsters have developed from over time. Ragegaming made a video about them

Seriously though I’d love to see a monster hunter game that maybe goes back in time to the start of man that has some of the older monsters. We’d maybe see similarities to modern monsters but they’d ultimately be different. The only one that would be the same would be Tigrex.

fun fact: ruiner keeps his wings up when he isn't fighting and rarely moves them, likely due to the metallic spikes all over the 'wrist' joint restricting movement.
I figured ruiner was just knock out conscious, but if he did in fact played dead, he knew that shara was in the area but didn’t know exactly where he was, during the fight we had with him he decided to play dead to draw him out but didn’t expect he’d be buried alive and spent the whole time either digging his way out or waiting for an opportune moment to attack.

Same. I'm interested in the fungus of blackveil, how the regular and blackveil's eyesight compare, and how its bioenergy is used, as well as its growth cycle.
@@therighttrousers343 I found it pretty cool, that, you can blind the original with flash pods whenever just fine, but the growths on Blackveil, actually blind him, and you cannot Flash him till you break apart his head.
Yeah, to me that implies somewhat that it can sense through the mushrooms since it can detect you while its eyes are covered. I think sporepuffs still work though, and presumably smoke bombs too, and also ghillie mantle, so I would say that the spores on black veil do detect photo-sensitively rather than detecting like Gore Magala, because of that ghillie mantle being specifically a way to hide visually. Another thought is that Vaal Hazak might have evolved specifically to deal with the low light conditions of the Rotten Vale, but Blackveil rather than evolving the eyes to deal with a higher light environment, takes an evolutionary shortcut by simply blocking out the high-light environment with mushrooms.
Surely I can't be the only one that thinks nerg is kinda cute and really want to pet him (Probably not a good idea but anyways)

ive always loved nergigante, primarily because he is just a powerhouse not relying on elements as a niche but instead on pure strength alone and then ruiner applying that with intelligence as well
Nergi honestly has to be my favorite monster so far. How can you not love a monster that comes in and finishes off something like Shara Ishvalda, especially in the brutal way that it did.
Well it didn’t work for it. Literally waited till it was almost dead to finish it off.
Its kinda really easy to hate a kill stealer to be honest. Even if it's done with style.

Yes, would love more MH ecology videos since that is arguably the most fleshed out "lore" of the franchise, and that's fine considering how much thought and creativity Capcom puts into creating these monsters.
As for who'd I like to see next, either Glavenus, Zinogre, Ahtal Ka or Valstrax would be my picks.

Can someone just make like a 1 or 2 minute video of nergi idling. He's honestly so adorable when he idles, when he looks around or nuzzles against objects with his sharp spines. Or maybe just make a video where all the monsters can be seen idling

this honestly was an excellent video and something the monsters truly deserve, a good in-depth look at everything that went into creating them with the exclusive material provided by Capcom, just one hicup where Ruiner was called a subspecies and maybe some points about how Ruiner will not get rid of it's hardened spikes and the slight coloration differences it has on it's horn is all I can think about for feedback :)
Plsss do a collab with BannedLagiacrus if u wanna continue with this series. He is, when not, the best MH-Researcher out there. ^^
Love this series already my only note would be not to confuse new fans of the series by using sub-species and variant in the same sentence as it could confuse them. Great series otherwise 👍

Yeh, but no one seems to care about it... For some reason...
lore does not make plot. Lore is background information, reasons why the world works like it does. Plot is events within said world. MH doesn't have much plot because the events are always just "Monsters are attacking, you need to stop them!" but the information about these monsters and how they work is much more interesting.

Always love the lores of monsters, love this new series
I'm new to the series and only really began enjoying the gameplay but this lore vid got me hooked for more. It's presented in a way similar to that of a prehistoric discovery.
I will be eagerly awaiting for more lore vids. Great work and thanks for showing me something I didn't know I would have been interested in. 😁
