Old games in a nutshell
The old game cutscenes are much better movies than the actual Monster Hunter movie we got.
Facts
Dude spittin facts!
Is the movie really that bad ? In my country it’s not already available.
So, is it really bad or « ok »?
@@nathangacio5787 visually it's superb and very monster hunter, story and everything else are trash
@@lambchop58 oh okay, thank you very much !
People say that the wings are impenetrable because they can’t even get close to them cause of the fukin wind pressure that sets you off-balance for 5 seconds

0:38 "A freshly-wounded Kelbi..."
The Kelbi: *completely dead on the ground*
Don’t worry it’ll revive in a couple of minutes
I don't think that's a Kelbi. Maybe a kind of wild moofa
Clearly the biggest secret of Monster Hunter is how to make a potion
How to make a what?
Pfft stupid. You combine large barrel with gunpowder obviously.
I actually forgot
Idk how to make them, fatalis usually gave them to me
@Mar Vert Neyra it was a joke, but probably you are a troll
Kushala's got that "classic yet still unique" feel that I get from Rathalos and Fatalis.
Capcom needs to make a monster hunter animated movie.
The intros for all games are amazing.
They are. It's call monster hunter legends of the guild. It was supposed to come out two years ago but it didn't. From what I know they are still making it.
@@spacemegalodon5049 this comment aged well
I’ll tell you now - they did for Netflix - it’s quite disappointing and childish- given how serious the game is with it’s lore and game…
@@zoenayru This couldn't be more wrong. The games were never that "serious", especially the characters that are present in the movie. The excitable A-Lister is as goofy and clumsy as in 4U and world, and the other guys just behaved like they did in the games. The dialogues in the games were definitely not serious, have you ever seen how the guildmarm (and the other quest-ladies from the other games) are talking in the games?
The Felynes and Melynx are also absolutely not serious in any game, they are talking in puns all the time. Same with so many other NPC's that you can talk to in the towns, constantly joking. Not to mention the Quest descriptions, they have always been over the top. The cutscenes in general were also whacky, especially when Felynes were involved. The animated movie nailed so many references and quirks that are present in the games, it's insane. It seems like you've never played anything else besides World (which is the most serious MH Game) or you have never paid any attention to detail at all. I'd suggest playing 4 Ultimate, that's the game in which the Hunter group that is present in the movie has appeared for the first time, and is packed with funny dialogues as well with a serious story - just like the movie; the movie was basically made with 4U setting in mind.
@@Mekudan - The lore is dark and could’ve been made like the Witcher - Yes the dialogues are suppose to be fun because it’s a game - but reading the actual stories behind monster and how they act - the movie wasn’t bad is was just disappointing IMO
Fuckit, the nostalgia is hitting hard with that intro
I love MH2 opening. The controls, not so much though.
I'd like to see some lore on Gore Magala. How he turns into Shagaru Magala or Chaotic Gore Magala when he fails to mold properly.
I heard that shagaru magala purposefully interrupts the transformation of gore magalas to not get competion, resulting in chaotic gore magala
@@Edujs23 that is really interesting
@@Edujs23 "Fuck you, no more shagaru privilege"
That is an amazing idea
Everything the Hunters before me have stated is correct and if you want to see it happen play Sunbreak it happens before your eyes. Magala are in my top five
*ooh this looks awesome already! I love lore videos and what better then from TDS*
brain: are you trying to sleep?
me: yes, now shut up
brain: *NERGIGANTE CAN REPRODUCE ASEXUALLY-*
also I love that dos has some of the earliest reports of kushala daora's existence, and by the time the Commission sets out to the New World it's the poster boy of elder dragons, the big bad dragon parents probably warn their kids about to scare them, everyone knows of it. Just gives an idea of the time span in lore between some games.
Technically, fatalis can also reproduce asexually~
@@sinteleon Hes not reproduce, He is basically Immortal
@@user-rw8vs1we3y no fatalis scales can regenerate into an entirely new fatalis.
@@ciphymasterofmedia9104 and that’s terrifying.
I gotta say, the production Quality of TDS Videos by now is at a point where it could easily be official Capcom content made to advertise the Games! Keep going guys we love your videos!
Kushala's theme is the best piece of music in the series. I never really notice the music in the game but fighting Kushala is an event to me. Those swings of music make me feel something, like I'm in awe of the monster. This theme made me become more aware of other monster's themes and added a whole new level to the hunts. Maybe my favorite monster in the game.
11:22 this scene gives me shivers
just watched it and can agree
Mh4u memories intensify
When the giant gale dragon says “Wait...I remember you, wretched worm. I’ll finish what I started!”.
Wow it does
11:22 I'm 100% certain that Rusted Kushala remembers Julius in that cutscene.
Yeah but from what
@@monocasualzari That giant scar in it's face might be an hint.
@@monocasualzari Or he wouldn't even just come close to him and make a stare down
@@gabigab7240 Yeah but is it from an off-screen battle or have we seen Julius and the kushala clash before
@@monocasualzari it's explained in the story that Julius' master caused the scar when he saved Julius from the Kushala. They were no match for the elder dragon, but Julius refused to retreat and almost got himself killed. The Master scarred the Kushala while also recieving a fatal wound in the process. He survived, but his hunting career was over. That's why the Kushala is Julius' nemesis.
I want ridge wallet made of fatalis skin.
Ooooh this seems interesting. Also, Dire Miralis next would be nice.
Should be noted that Daora also has a normal skeleton (endoskeleton) unlike that of a invertebrate. You can see the vertebra when you cut it's tail. The exoskeleton is a more like armour than an actual skeleton like those of invertebrate.
Yama Tsukami, i'm sad that this flying elder dragon octopus was forgotten, it could be so unique monster on world engine.
This was sooo cool. i love going back and seeing how the games presented all this info.
Makes kushala feel like a weird storm elemental steel butterfly.
Fun Fact: Besides Kushala was the Flagship of MH2, the series also introduced LS, HH, GL, and Bow
What is GL?
@@Noah-kc2pi Gunlance
@@Zip-xj9qo ah ok thank you
Those four weapons were the chosen weapons carried by the 4 hunters in the Jungle part of the intro.
Fun fact: Daora in brazilian portuguese its equal to "cool" or "awesome"
I could listen to Chris talk all day. Man your voice is soothing. You sound like a really nice person lol (I hope this isn't weird)
Nah it's not weird it's just polite
6:38 This actually give credence to a theory of mine; that Velkhana actually started life as a Kushala Daora, before gaining its icy powers after consuming or absorbing power from the crystals left behind by Shara Ishvalda, and the Legiana lured by its song. That as it molted, it gained the icy powers imprinted on its shell, allowing it to form the ice armor it utilizes in battle.
Additionally, I believe that Vaal Hazak was spawned when the effluvium fungus infected the cast-off molt of a Kushala Daora, gaining mobility and some wind manipulation powers as a result.
Cool theory
@@filippietruczuk AHA. HA. HA.
Kushala Daora can also be found in 2nd generation desert, in MHFU
ikr smh
Watching the 4U cinematics again made me realize the the Ace leader is a wrestler from the 80's and 90's WWF.
6:42 ohh thats a kushalas scales.... I though when I was a kid it was some dragon that died there
The Monster Hunter Orange manga has a couple of nice ideas that I'd like to see in the games, like the whip-sword and most importantly the wind attribute in weapons, either as just a new element, a status effect that slows down some of the monster's moves or even as a brand new kind of attribute beside elements and statuses
cant wait for mhRise content
Can’t wait for your next video in 2 years
@@yukibananana I knew there was gonna be a comment about the upload schedule 💀
Hope you do a lot more of these. I love listening to these types of videos during work.
Dalamadur or maybe nakarkos (love those two babies, the nakarkos could be kind of hard to deal with as we do not have many informations about it 😗)
Wind weapons would be interesting! I'd personally love if Elder Dragon weapons were differentiated with unique effects rather than standard elements.
Using the Elder Dragons from World as an example, let's say that Kushala's weapons could have increased attack range, utilizing its horns to create dangerous wind pressure from a distance. For bows and bowguns, this could mean faster, or further flying ammo types.
For Teostra's, it could mean the ability to utilize Fire and Blast at the same time, with every attack, unlike some Dual Blades which only have one element on one blade. For bowguns, perhaps this could mean enhanced Special ammo types, like Wyvernblast, Wyvernsnipe, and Wyvernheart dealing additional Fire or Blast damage.
For Vaal Hazak, while weapons are drawn, you would be wrapped in a damaging aura that slowly eats away at a Monster's HP, while very slowly healing you at the same time.
And for Nergigante, the weapons could slowly regenerate Sharpness, similar to how Nergigante's spikes slowly harden over time. Not sure what it could mean for ranged weapons, though.
These are just random ideas, really. Felt like getting them out lol
It helps that science is kinda loose in MH. It doesn't make sense how slapping a detached Kushala's horn to a weapon would make it control wind accurately, but then again, slapping a Fire T-rex's fur to a slab of bone somehow makes it set things on fire.
Excellent video and your narration style is very good. Keep it up. Hope you'd continue doing more videos like these.
How about a video on Chameleos? Just to honor its return in Rise :D
That was a great watch. Thank you very much for this wonderful video! ❤

this is awesome bro please keep update this content i really love this, much love
The exoskeleton bit was really interesting! Although I’d also like to point out that due to elder dragon bones in the quest rewards for Kushala hunts, this also implies they have an internal skeleton as well as an exoskeleton. So this guy has two skeletons, and one of them is made of metal. Just thought that was cool
Strangely enough even small Hermitaurs and Ceanataurs drop bones so I guess MH crabs also have an endoskeleton
5 Fun facts not included,
1. If you pay attention to the Cathar Guru's Dialogue, he makes reference to the fact that the Kushala you fight in 4u is in fact the very same one from Dos, as with the help of his brother (the Jumbo Village Chief) he'd been warned of the coming Kushala after it had been fought off from Jumbo.
2. Kushala eats ore, this can be observed as far back as the second generation if there were ore deposits available in the jungle.
3. Kushala was technically the first monster in the series to have the Elder Dragon Classification, as it was invented by the guild in Gen 2. So even though Lao, Kirin, and Fatalis came first, Kushala is the first by classification.
4. Some varieties of Kushala native to the regions around Val Habar and other locales in 4u have exhibited the ability to naturally produce ice, this was a push by the developers in the 4th generation to establish Kushala as an ice monster.
5. The Scarred Rusted Kushala in 4u is the only monster in the series that we have not killed in-game, nor did it directly go to it's demise like Zorah. Since it's battle ended in a standard repel, and regarding the fact it has survived encounters with hunters before, it might very well still be alive.
What were Kirin, Lao and Fatalis classified as in the first game? I never got that far.
@@kingofflames738 Sorry I needed to correct myself. In game they're still divided into the ED classification, but the Guild only really made it an official classification during the events of Gen 2.
So it's the first in-canon monster to garner the classification.
I thought there won’t be any lore vids but u guys came with something better...Thanks !
I hope we got a lot of these episodes! This is really cool!
As a person who got into monster hunter from world and the first video is about probably my favorite monster in MHW i am very pleased....
Are we getting more of these Lore videos?
I think they're really interesting and educational! Hope for more
this kind of content is BEAUTIFUL, I LOVE IT
The inclusion of Nergigante adds an interesting dynamic to the tiers of elder dragon it preys upon, in that they are subjected to the classic predator-prey arms race that had previously been thought irrelevant to such powerful creatures. Kushala's metal armor would certainly make sense as an adaptation against the jaws of its predator. Of course, as said in the video, the disadvantage of this strategy comes into play when it has to molt, as then it is entirely vulnerable. No doubt a pivot of the relationship between these creatures is how competently a Nergigante can track a rusted individual, and in turn the rusted individual's ability to evade it.
Damn this channel has been improving keep it up!
This is great keep doing these
I feel like you should have started this series maybe more than a week before a brand new monster hunter game comes out LOL, you guys are gonna have your hands full! Shame, I don't want you to sleep on this series, really enjoyed this first episode!
Ive noticed with kushala's torso design seems similar to gills on fish
im assuming its apart of helping kushala fly easier or more likely to suck wind internally to fire it back out?
Possibly just how kushala looks and actually surves no or little purpose but the design of its torso looks fairly similar to gills
This was amazing! I am patiently waiting for the ceadus videos :)
Im interested in Alatreon, actually im interested in every black dragon in the series.
I started with World and personally I wanna know wtf is going on with Dalamadur because I see a ton of giant ass snake skeletons in the Vale lmao
yooo this was amazing i'd love more of this with just about every monster haha
This is probably the best video you ever made.
Hopefully this thing gets enough views to keep you going because I really really enjoy this content

I'm so happy you included the Kushala Daora ecology video from freedom unite
Pretty cool video format, I'd like to see one about frenzy virus and its consequences on monsters. It would be really cool
Yamatsukami next please :)
Teostra and Lunastra. These two has always been my favourite. All because of their BGM lol.
05:27 The detail of the shed bending is awesome because they could have easily made it so it softens to make it easier for Kushala emerging but they decided on the cooler option.
Thank you for the vibes Chris 👏🏽

Really impressive vid. I was always interested in such topics. Would be cool to see shah dalamadur and how that serpent-like creature became the fundament of the Rotten Vale in MHW
I’ve never heard someone say “vary” like that

I would definitely wanna see an Amatsu video, I mean not cause he's my fave monster or anything...
Kushala, still my favorite elder dragon.
tbh I like the old title better just because it's straight forward, and I know what monster lore the video is exploring.
I really want to see ancient tower from mh2dos in this series
I would love to see a Nergigante lore about his evolution to ruiner elder eating etc would be amazing
It's in the game.....there it said that is just a nergigante who endured harsh fights and never lost a fight....until DUH we are assigned the quest and it becomes just as average as any other nergigante.
