Wyvern is the category for flying monsters that are dragon-like just in appearance (dragon as in classic dragon, not ancient dragon). Ancient Dragons have such a power some are considered a natural disaster. So yes, Ancient Dragons are like magical superbeings while Wyverns are just big animals.
I’ve always liked to imagine Gogmazios as one of the remaining Equal Dragon Machines. The fact that he is forced to eat gunpowder means that he simply cannot have evolved naturally, as gunpowder does not exist in a natural state, and the game tells you that Gogmazios cannot sustain itself by just using sulfur. When fighting Gogmazios you will notice that his roars and sounds sound much much more mechanical than they do natural, and Gogmazios is also able to pull his wing webbing up or down over his wing joints, something no other dragon can do, yet something very common in machines that have cloth wings.

The Equal Dragon Weapon isn't part of the official lore though, it's just a concept piece in the MH: Illustrations books. I mean it would be super rad if it was though, that thing would be a really good fight...
I thought The Equal Dragon Weapon was a part of Fatalis' lore in that it drove Fatalis to the rather extreme lengths it went to with its hatred of humanity.
Yeah the equal dragon weapon was part of the concept art from the 1st book, I actually uploaded the whole book on my videos, there are 2 videos one for the armor and the rest is the monsters. Since i cant read any japanese i cant translate any of the stuff written in it.
Just wanted to add that the Wyverians (Monster Hunter’s Version of Elf’s, or long living human-like race) were the race that created the abomination dragons, in the ancient civilization. It’s what lead to their mostly pacifist lifestyle. They also mostly let humans hunt for them to get around The Whole“not killing anymore” lifestyle while still being able to study and research all wyvern lifeforms. Hopefully that’s something you’ll bring up in the next vid.
I'm a month late, but whatever, I just want to share some lore stuff. I think Wyverians aren't the ones who create the equal dragon weapons (and definitely not the ancient civilization). If I remember correctly, correct me if I'm wrong, wyverians were the descendant of wyverns of old (hence their name), that would explain their affinity towards nature and balance. Another theory I've heard is that the primitive wyverians were ruled by the ancient civilization, and some even used as foot soldiers during the great dragon war, hence why they have the knowledge to teach humans to create weapons and armors out of monsters material. But these are stuff i read ages ago, so I'm probably mistaken in some area.
Following up on what’s already been mentioned, wyverians are more than just the descendants of the wyverns of old, they’re actually a species/group of wyverns themselves - they can grow wildly differing sizes (shown by “his immenseness” in 4U), and have clawed feet and 4 fingered hands. If you look carefully, you can see that all real wyverns in monster hunter have 4 digits on their front pair of limbs. The reason why wyverians refuse to hunt is probably due to the fact that they refuse to hunt their own.
if Im not mistaken in older MH games like FU or 3rd portable (I forgot which) there's an elder mention that wyverians is the one teaching man the arts of hunting itself and also introduce all of those weapons that hunter use and also I dunno if the MH Orage manga is canon or not but its also mention 1 of ancient city being destroyed by dragon because they don't have any hunter
Gentlemen Gamer most of them are just extremely powerful animals. The only ones you could really argue are intelligent are the Fatalis variants, and maybe Gog and Atlal.

Im sure "the slaughtering of 30 dragons to make the equal dragon weapon" is greatly underestimated, i heard in another video that it was meant to say 30 carts filled with the parts of dragons, or perhaps even 30 ships, this would mean a massive amount of dragons were killed to create this, and it would truly be powerful if ever activated

Loved listening to this, two very important things that weren't quite mentioned though, with minimal speculation (but it's still there, mostly in parenthesis)- The Ancient Civilization is implied to have been people similar to the ones we play as; and they were wiped out (similar to the Ragnarok mythos;) humans in the World of Monster Hunter were taught to hunt by Wyverians, after what is loosely described in the flavor texts as an extinction event (each game also chronicles changes in Wyverians based on interaction with humans.) Where once Wyverians were either giants or very stout, The Argosy Captain explains to the player that he is an oddity among his people- having similar proportions to humans (much like the first Guildmaster, the Kotoko Chief's fiancee, who died in The Five.) The technologies used by the Ancient civilization are all standardized to human size (as opposed to the drastically varying Wyverian sizes.) In Cathar (MH4U), we learn that some groups of Wyverians secluded themselves from the budding civilizations built on the camaraderie between humans and Wyverians; but those groups seem to be in decline. In MHW (MH5;) human-size Wyverians are much more common; but Giant Wyverians (such as The Man, or His Immenseness) are not. The "First Wyverians" are significantly shorter even than the Wyverians living among humans.The traditions of Wyverians are in decline, while the new humans are booming- but the society of MonHun involves an unspoken pact among Wyverians, Humans, and any group of Lynians who join their causes. In this society, most leadership is taken on by Wyverians, exclusively (The Admiral being the first Guildmaster equivalent to be human, with striking similarity to The Caravaneer who served His Immenseness when the call to defend the Guild's seat in Dundorma was issued.) (The humans of the ancient civilization likely didn't hunt, they exploited. A hunt involves investigation, struggle, and with wyverns, attempts to capture as opposed to slaying- incentivized by the game's reward systems and shortening hunt length to get to those rewards.) Many quest flavortexts mention that Elder Dragons live in a cycle of reincarnation (I think that this makes the Dragon-Equal Weapons even more awful than we would assume. The Elder Dragons used would reincarnate in a never ending bid to flee, and then be carved up again as many times as necessary.) They remember their fights with hunters, and in the case of Shagaru Magala and Nergigante, even display violent changes in their desire to combat a hunter. To fight an Elder Dragon is to fight a natural calamity given form- to slay one is to inherit it's materials, but not be able to keep a body long enough for study. In World, the corpses of Dalamadur (The Rotted Veil) and Zorah Magdaros (The Guiding Lands) foster entire ecosystems, feeding further into the idea that Ancient Elder Dragons reincarnate as entire biomes of Wyverns, smaller Dragons, and all of the life among them. While these aren't immediately important to the first half of the story here (the creation myth,) they do show the world as it has moved through time- and point backwards when Ancient Elder Dragons are encountered (Yama Tsukami, Ceadeus, Amatsu, Dire Miralis, Dalamadur, Gogmazios, Zorah Magdaros, and most recently, Shara Ishvalda,) as context clues about the environments they both guard and dominate- as well as the overaching themes the game has with it's gentle natured environmentalism, and sense of balancing of civilization with nature (as opposed to against nature.)

Isn't Fatalis like the counterpart of the EDW? Like, his scales are forged by human hunters that were defeated by him melted together. He was the dragons personification of hate and revenge for the ancient civilization. Please correct me if Im wrong and I would love that video about him and his variants to come soon.
Apparently fatalis can come back from your armor so that's spicy but his hide is actually just hardened he puts the hunters over his scales to create an extra layer of protection so yep your right

Monster Hunter has a lot of over looked lore in the series as most just think it’s ‘go and hunt a monster over and over.’ I think it would be good to have a lore video that helps to show how the Hunter we play as is considered exceptional and how our hunts actually affect the world from an in world perspective. Seriously, we need more Lore Masters researching and presenting this knowledge to us! Please think about continuing your delve into Monster Hunter.

The only thing (from my previous lore understanding) that seems is off is that I thought the creation of the bio weapon dragons was brought about BECAUSE of the dragon war not that the war was because of the creation of said weapons.
yeah.. i been wondering about that too, i read the lore before and to my understanding the EDW are created to fight the dragons at the war, not the reason the war broke out
@@variaraiza6335 its because the dragons got fed up of being used as livestock and resources and being disrespected,EDW is just an additional fuel for the dragons to wage war against humanity but was never the reason.
I've watched a whole of monster Hunter lore videos in my day, but wow your voice sends chills down spine along with Monster Hunter music in the background enhancing the effect. Also the commitment to accurate details is something truly amazing thing to seek after.

Centrevez the author isn't talking about changing Byf's logo, just the music behind it. Even if you don't want to mess with the logo file at all, he could easily mute the file in the video editor and overlay another audio file.

I always liked the concept that the Hunters we play are the descendants of "super soldiers" left behind after an apocalyptic war with ancient elder dragons. This explains why their culture is both surprisingly tribal yet highly advanced at the same time, and how the Hunters themselves can wield weapons of such magnitude as greatswords and gunlances without constant bone breakages, fractures and/or torn ligaments. It also explains their prodigious eating abilities before a hunt and the fact they can't actually _die,_ though they can be knocked unconscious. Failed hunts are never the result of being killed by monsters, it's more likely that the Hunters realise they're unable to tackle the monster or they're too weak from being knocked out repeatedly and give up. Then we have Felynes / Palicoes, most likely the result of cats evolving alongside ancient humans to a state where they've integrated fully with humans, being able to understand their language, hunt alongside them, operate farms, blacksmiths and all kinds of other services. Ultimately I know Monster Hunter is basically a game about hunting huge creatures with over the top, cool weaponry and armour... but as a lore nut I need some kinda explanation!
@@youcantrustmeinc.5401 The guiding lands are blatantly the corpse of the Zorah Magdaros you diverted from entering the everstream. Everything from the names of the unique materials there to the very icon for the region being the same as Zorah's kind of spell it out. It's not subtle, even if you missed the whole it will create a whole new ecosystem out in the ocean somewhere bit.
@Eric Schwalb I mean the third fleet directly implies this new location popped up overnight and the whole talk about the new eccosystem being created stems from the release of Zorah's mystical life energies being released when it dies. But if it's more fun for you to try apply real world physics and timeframes to a fantasy setting where eating dragon meat makes humans grow up with the inate strength to hoist 800kg swords like a 30kg sledge hammer... Well honestly I encourage that because it's more interesting. But we still have to go into that accepting the devs justifications for story events in the game aren't going to hold up to that same standard.

I believe Monster Hunter takes place after a technologically driven apocalypse. As I imagine it, an ancient civilization (it need not be the one we know about) of humans developed absolutely staggering amounts of technology. Some of that technology would be the kind that could physically and genetically modify an organism to make them better, stronger, faster, tougher, and generally unlike any creature known before that time. At some point, humanity loses control of this technology and gets out "into the wild" and starts to heavily engineer all other creatures on the planet. The kind of nanotech modification I'm talking about involves things like spider silk woven into skin, the extensive use of metamaterials in bone and organs, entirely new organs and body plans, among things I can't even fathom. The story we hear about in the game, even the story detailed in this video, takes place quite some time after this nanotech virus has proliferated and heavily modified every organism on the planet, including humans. It has been this way for so long that no one even remembers there was a time when humans were weak and frail. A time where they couldn't wield weapons larger than themselves, where jumping off a cliff would break every bone in your body, where a single small monster would be a match for any seasoned hunter. What we get to see is the world after it has already been shaped by the technology of an advanced civilization beyond the scope of even the ancient civilization. We use their bones and hides as advanced armor because that's exactly what they really are. What is left of the technology of the precursors exists only within the monsters created by that technology. It explains so much of why the world would be the way it is. It explains why individual humans are so mindbogglingly strong. It explains why the creatures are capable of doing what they do. It even explains why the Wyvernians even exist at all. The balance talked about in the legends of the ancient civilization, that balance would have been created by the nanotech virus specifically because it would have been programmed to make everything "better." The dragon war, and monsters suddenly turning on humanity, that would have happened because humans upset the natural order it created and it started responding by modifying the creatures in response to the changes to that order. Think about it, why aren't any of the monsters we face as intelligent as depicted in these stories? How could they all be directed to some end without being able to directly communicate with each other? Why would the monsters in Iceborne spontaneously develop new powers and abilities in response to the happenings in the new world? If everything on the planet is "infected" with a kind of nanotech virus with the power to modify existing creatures both genetically and physically, while also operating as a kind of limited intelligence distributed through the ecosystem, then all of it makes far too much sense. The myths we hear about in game are therefore just that, myths and legends.. stories we told ourselves to justify our place in a world of godlike beings. They became the creator deities and were interwoven into the kinds of myths and legends humans have always created for themselves, except this time the gods are tangible and real.
So, humanity unwittingly gave "Mother Nature" a literal form and function in the shape of a nanotech "virus" that's able to mutate and shift living organisms into constantly different forms in order to try and settle into some sort of natural order once again, while also removing humans from the equation? This makes the most sense when considering monsters constantly attack human settlements, and the humans in turn train Monster Hunters who are themselves genetic monstrosities (eating entire banquets in minutes, being nigh indestructible). Makes me wonder if all humans can actually become Hunters, but only training will "awaken" their prodigious capabilities, probably from a young age.
@@DisemboweII I think the explanation for the difference, and why the humans aren't as physically altered as the monsters are, is just that the nanotech responsible for altering humans was under more direct human control. As such, it has limitations imposed on it for what it is allowed to change, or allow to change, in humans. In other words, the monster's virus can't affect humans directly as they carry a benevolent version of the same kind of nanotech virus, which is actively protecting humanity. The human version may even still technically be under human control, though no one alive would actually know it or even remotely know how to interface with it if they did.
Do more of these please! I want to know the world of Monster Hunter but don’t have the time to play through them all to do so. Having you guide us through is perfect for me.
It makes sense now! The game is called monster hunters, but we never refer to any creatures as monsters, yet. And in world we were introduced to a creature that was difficult to categorize as it ate elder dragons, the nergigante, though in other games I'm sure there are more, there is also the vaal hazak, it lives in the rotten vale and its where elders go to die, so it can expect their corpses to build but it never really seeks out other elders (that we know of yet) but it has regenerative properties (armor) and nergigante regenerates its spikes
I would love the idea to battle against the Equal Dragon Weapon, basically a forbidden, perverted act of combining the dragons with ancient technology that gave birth to the true "monster" in Monster Hunter.
Tbf, its more like a set of hot air balloons with the ship acting as a basket....which doesn't require much in the way of technology, just the knowledge that hot air rises and can lift things.

Well the Dalamadur could be considered the Dragon that created the Mountains since its death is what created the Rotten vale and thus the Coral Highlands.
Sarcalogos Tortolero dire was literally a walking artillery piece with how it summoned meteors unlesss it shot those out which is still a threat if it wanted to do that while walking williy nilly.
It's Hawx I think Zorah might be one of them. Sinking into the ocean and creating land? That’s basically what happened to Zorah when he died in the end of MHW’s story.

Here you have Shakalakas and Gajalakas who are very tribal and wear masks, then the Melynx and the Grimalkyne who are both more advanced But still tribal, then there are the Felynes who decide to help us and the guild and taking the title 'Palico' like we take the title 'Hunter.

The Equal Dragon Weapon isn't part of the official lore though, it's just a concept piece in the MH: Illustrations books. I mean it would be super rad if it was though, that thing would be a really good fight...
I thought The Equal Dragon Weapon was a part of Fatalis' lore in that it drove Fatalis to the rather extreme lengths it went to with its hatred of humanity.

Yeah the equal dragon weapon was part of the concept art from the 1st book, I actually uploaded the whole book on my videos, there are 2 videos one for the armor and the rest is the monsters. Since i cant read any japanese i cant translate any of the stuff written in it.

Just wanted to add that the Wyverians (Monster Hunter’s Version of Elf’s, or long living human-like race) were the race that created the abomination dragons, in the ancient civilization. It’s what lead to their mostly pacifist lifestyle. They also mostly let humans hunt for them to get around The Whole“not killing anymore” lifestyle while still being able to study and research all wyvern lifeforms. Hopefully that’s something you’ll bring up in the next vid.
I'm a month late, but whatever, I just want to share some lore stuff.
I think Wyverians aren't the ones who create the equal dragon weapons (and definitely not the ancient civilization). If I remember correctly, correct me if I'm wrong, wyverians were the descendant of wyverns of old (hence their name), that would explain their affinity towards nature and balance.
Another theory I've heard is that the primitive wyverians were ruled by the ancient civilization, and some even used as foot soldiers during the great dragon war, hence why they have the knowledge to teach humans to create weapons and armors out of monsters material.
But these are stuff i read ages ago, so I'm probably mistaken in some area.
Following up on what’s already been mentioned, wyverians are more than just the descendants of the wyverns of old, they’re actually a species/group of wyverns themselves - they can grow wildly differing sizes (shown by “his immenseness” in 4U), and have clawed feet and 4 fingered hands. If you look carefully, you can see that all real wyverns in monster hunter have 4 digits on their front pair of limbs. The reason why wyverians refuse to hunt is probably due to the fact that they refuse to hunt their own.
if Im not mistaken in older MH games like FU or 3rd portable (I forgot which) there's an elder mention that wyverians is the one teaching man the arts of hunting itself and also introduce all of those weapons that hunter use
and also I dunno if the MH Orage manga is canon or not but its also mention 1 of ancient city being destroyed by dragon because they don't have any hunter

Neat. I was always fascinated by the colossal ancient structures on the psp games that were my initiation into the series. Really fun to hear about all this. Curious as to whether the New World is the Dragon Island or not and if we'll ever get to see/find any ancient areas through added content...
Im sure "the slaughtering of 30 dragons to make the equal dragon weapon" is greatly underestimated, i heard in another video that it was meant to say 30 carts filled with the parts of dragons, or perhaps even 30 ships, this would mean a massive amount of dragons were killed to create this, and it would truly be powerful if ever activated

Loved listening to this, two very important things that weren't quite mentioned though, with minimal speculation (but it's still there, mostly in parenthesis)-
The Ancient Civilization is implied to have been people similar to the ones we play as; and they were wiped out (similar to the Ragnarok mythos;) humans in the World of Monster Hunter were taught to hunt by Wyverians, after what is loosely described in the flavor texts as an extinction event (each game also chronicles changes in Wyverians based on interaction with humans.) Where once Wyverians were either giants or very stout, The Argosy Captain explains to the player that he is an oddity among his people- having similar proportions to humans (much like the first Guildmaster, the Kotoko Chief's fiancee, who died in The Five.) The technologies used by the Ancient civilization are all standardized to human size (as opposed to the drastically varying Wyverian sizes.) In Cathar (MH4U), we learn that some groups of Wyverians secluded themselves from the budding civilizations built on the camaraderie between humans and Wyverians; but those groups seem to be in decline. In MHW (MH5;) human-size Wyverians are much more common; but Giant Wyverians (such as The Man, or His Immenseness) are not. The "First Wyverians" are significantly shorter even than the Wyverians living among humans.The traditions of Wyverians are in decline, while the new humans are booming- but the society of MonHun involves an unspoken pact among Wyverians, Humans, and any group of Lynians who join their causes. In this society, most leadership is taken on by Wyverians, exclusively (The Admiral being the first Guildmaster equivalent to be human, with striking similarity to The Caravaneer who served His Immenseness when the call to defend the Guild's seat in Dundorma was issued.)
(The humans of the ancient civilization likely didn't hunt, they exploited. A hunt involves investigation, struggle, and with wyverns, attempts to capture as opposed to slaying- incentivized by the game's reward systems and shortening hunt length to get to those rewards.)
Many quest flavortexts mention that Elder Dragons live in a cycle of reincarnation (I think that this makes the Dragon-Equal Weapons even more awful than we would assume. The Elder Dragons used would reincarnate in a never ending bid to flee, and then be carved up again as many times as necessary.) They remember their fights with hunters, and in the case of Shagaru Magala and Nergigante, even display violent changes in their desire to combat a hunter. To fight an Elder Dragon is to fight a natural calamity given form- to slay one is to inherit it's materials, but not be able to keep a body long enough for study. In World, the corpses of Dalamadur (The Rotted Veil) and Zorah Magdaros (The Guiding Lands) foster entire ecosystems, feeding further into the idea that Ancient Elder Dragons reincarnate as entire biomes of Wyverns, smaller Dragons, and all of the life among them.
While these aren't immediately important to the first half of the story here (the creation myth,) they do show the world as it has moved through time- and point backwards when Ancient Elder Dragons are encountered (Yama Tsukami, Ceadeus, Amatsu, Dire Miralis, Dalamadur, Gogmazios, Zorah Magdaros, and most recently, Shara Ishvalda,) as context clues about the environments they both guard and dominate- as well as the overaching themes the game has with it's gentle natured environmentalism, and sense of balancing of civilization with nature (as opposed to against nature.)

Apparently fatalis can come back from your armor so that's spicy but his hide is actually just hardened he puts the hunters over his scales to create an extra layer of protection so yep your right

The only thing (from my previous lore understanding) that seems is off is that I thought the creation of the bio weapon dragons was brought about BECAUSE of the dragon war not that the war was because of the creation of said weapons.

Centrevez the author isn't talking about changing Byf's logo, just the music behind it. Even if you don't want to mess with the logo file at all, he could easily mute the file in the video editor and overlay another audio file.

I always liked the concept that the Hunters we play are the descendants of "super soldiers" left behind after an apocalyptic war with ancient elder dragons. This explains why their culture is both surprisingly tribal yet highly advanced at the same time, and how the Hunters themselves can wield weapons of such magnitude as greatswords and gunlances without constant bone breakages, fractures and/or torn ligaments.
It also explains their prodigious eating abilities before a hunt and the fact they can't actually _die,_ though they can be knocked unconscious. Failed hunts are never the result of being killed by monsters, it's more likely that the Hunters realise they're unable to tackle the monster or they're too weak from being knocked out repeatedly and give up.
Then we have Felynes / Palicoes, most likely the result of cats evolving alongside ancient humans to a state where they've integrated fully with humans, being able to understand their language, hunt alongside them, operate farms, blacksmiths and all kinds of other services.
Ultimately I know Monster Hunter is basically a game about hunting huge creatures with over the top, cool weaponry and armour... but as a lore nut I need some kinda explanation!

@@youcantrustmeinc.5401 The guiding lands are blatantly the corpse of the Zorah Magdaros you diverted from entering the everstream. Everything from the names of the unique materials there to the very icon for the region being the same as Zorah's kind of spell it out. It's not subtle, even if you missed the whole it will create a whole new ecosystem out in the ocean somewhere bit.
@Eric Schwalb I mean the third fleet directly implies this new location popped up overnight and the whole talk about the new eccosystem being created stems from the release of Zorah's mystical life energies being released when it dies. But if it's more fun for you to try apply real world physics and timeframes to a fantasy setting where eating dragon meat makes humans grow up with the inate strength to hoist 800kg swords like a 30kg sledge hammer... Well honestly I encourage that because it's more interesting. But we still have to go into that accepting the devs justifications for story events in the game aren't going to hold up to that same standard.

I believe Monster Hunter takes place after a technologically driven apocalypse. As I imagine it, an ancient civilization (it need not be the one we know about) of humans developed absolutely staggering amounts of technology. Some of that technology would be the kind that could physically and genetically modify an organism to make them better, stronger, faster, tougher, and generally unlike any creature known before that time. At some point, humanity loses control of this technology and gets out "into the wild" and starts to heavily engineer all other creatures on the planet. The kind of nanotech modification I'm talking about involves things like spider silk woven into skin, the extensive use of metamaterials in bone and organs, entirely new organs and body plans, among things I can't even fathom.
The story we hear about in the game, even the story detailed in this video, takes place quite some time after this nanotech virus has proliferated and heavily modified every organism on the planet, including humans. It has been this way for so long that no one even remembers there was a time when humans were weak and frail. A time where they couldn't wield weapons larger than themselves, where jumping off a cliff would break every bone in your body, where a single small monster would be a match for any seasoned hunter. What we get to see is the world after it has already been shaped by the technology of an advanced civilization beyond the scope of even the ancient civilization.
We use their bones and hides as advanced armor because that's exactly what they really are. What is left of the technology of the precursors exists only within the monsters created by that technology. It explains so much of why the world would be the way it is. It explains why individual humans are so mindbogglingly strong. It explains why the creatures are capable of doing what they do. It even explains why the Wyvernians even exist at all. The balance talked about in the legends of the ancient civilization, that balance would have been created by the nanotech virus specifically because it would have been programmed to make everything "better." The dragon war, and monsters suddenly turning on humanity, that would have happened because humans upset the natural order it created and it started responding by modifying the creatures in response to the changes to that order.
Think about it, why aren't any of the monsters we face as intelligent as depicted in these stories? How could they all be directed to some end without being able to directly communicate with each other? Why would the monsters in Iceborne spontaneously develop new powers and abilities in response to the happenings in the new world? If everything on the planet is "infected" with a kind of nanotech virus with the power to modify existing creatures both genetically and physically, while also operating as a kind of limited intelligence distributed through the ecosystem, then all of it makes far too much sense.
The myths we hear about in game are therefore just that, myths and legends.. stories we told ourselves to justify our place in a world of godlike beings. They became the creator deities and were interwoven into the kinds of myths and legends humans have always created for themselves, except this time the gods are tangible and real.
So, humanity unwittingly gave "Mother Nature" a literal form and function in the shape of a nanotech "virus" that's able to mutate and shift living organisms into constantly different forms in order to try and settle into some sort of natural order once again, while also removing humans from the equation?
This makes the most sense when considering monsters constantly attack human settlements, and the humans in turn train Monster Hunters who are themselves genetic monstrosities (eating entire banquets in minutes, being nigh indestructible). Makes me wonder if all humans can actually become Hunters, but only training will "awaken" their prodigious capabilities, probably from a young age.
@@DisemboweII I think the explanation for the difference, and why the humans aren't as physically altered as the monsters are, is just that the nanotech responsible for altering humans was under more direct human control. As such, it has limitations imposed on it for what it is allowed to change, or allow to change, in humans. In other words, the monster's virus can't affect humans directly as they carry a benevolent version of the same kind of nanotech virus, which is actively protecting humanity. The human version may even still technically be under human control, though no one alive would actually know it or even remotely know how to interface with it if they did.

It makes sense now! The game is called monster hunters, but we never refer to any creatures as monsters, yet. And in world we were introduced to a creature that was difficult to categorize as it ate elder dragons, the nergigante, though in other games I'm sure there are more, there is also the vaal hazak, it lives in the rotten vale and its where elders go to die, so it can expect their corpses to build but it never really seeks out other elders (that we know of yet) but it has regenerative properties (armor) and nergigante regenerates its spikes

I would love the idea to battle against the Equal Dragon Weapon, basically a forbidden, perverted act of combining the dragons with ancient technology that gave birth to the true "monster" in Monster Hunter.

Tbf, its more like a set of hot air balloons with the ship acting as a basket....which doesn't require much in the way of technology, just the knowledge that hot air rises and can lift things.

Well the Dalamadur could be considered the Dragon that created the Mountains since its death is what created the Rotten vale and thus the Coral Highlands.
He’s not even that big compared to other dragons and he’s just a mini volcano the most he could do is burn coastal cities and forests
Sarcalogos Tortolero dire was literally a walking artillery piece with how it summoned meteors unlesss it shot those out which is still a threat if it wanted to do that while walking williy nilly.

Can't wait for you to talk about Fatalis and it's lore. The armor and weapons literally drive you to insanity, kill you or as rumors say, possess you and you become Fatalis reincarnated. This is why all the hunters that tried to hunt it either dissappear or are left broken.

Here you have Shakalakas and Gajalakas who are very tribal and wear masks, then the Melynx and the Grimalkyne who are both more advanced But still tribal, then there are the Felynes who decide to help us and the guild and taking the title 'Palico' like we take the title 'Hunter.

Think byf needs a new logo for his monster hunter videos. As much as i love his intro, Destiny symbols and quotes don’t really fit here. Nothing against destiny, but monster hunter deserves its own symbols.
