I... Had no problems with him. At all... In fact, I didn't use that armor set.... even a little. I took improved healing and faster healing. 'Cause it made more sense. I solo'd him, first try... Granted I fainted twice, but that is the normal allowance in hunter games. I dunno, people say he is hard and annoying, and I didn't mind him?
Really? I used it just fine, whoI ping that but fine. Just don't frontal attack it use the glaive mid air dash to get behind it then attack, rebound, mid air dash, attack. Rinse and repeat. And flash pods doesn't hurt

To be fair, the speed bit applied to a lot of monsters. When I was a beginner and didn't really dodge/pay attention, I used to run into the map zone (ie zone 8) and then get killed immediately as I saw the monster fly from one side of the zone to the other to destroy me in Hyper/G rank.

For any new players hoping to learn from this, here's some Nergi tips I've amassed from hunting him so much. 1. Elder Seal weapons do absolute jack unless you got four high elder seal weapons. Seriously, unless you got all four with decent dps he pretty much charges his death dive at the same rate. Btw for those who don't know, elder seal prevents and weakens elder dragons. Nergi has his spike growth rate slowed, Val has his effluvia cloak dissipated, Kushala loses his wind pressure, and Teostra loses his flame cloak. Not sure for Xeno, or Kulve. 2. Dragon Pods are useful. They deal decent elder seal effect, and around five shots usually results in a stun. 3. Boulders cheese him easily. The boulders in the crystal cavern area cut down on the fight quite a lot. Get good enough an you can solo a tempered Nergi investigation in under 15 minutes. 4. Combine the vitality cloak with a shield to have decent attempt at blocking his death dive. I speak from experience when I say, Nergi can be unpredictable. When his death dive is coming up, and I have no idea who he is aiming for, i might try for a superman dive, but most times, I'll I'm in his general vicinity an block while wearing a vitality cloak. Worked every time so far, but it could easily be patched in the future. I have more tips but, trying to type this on a digital keyboard is aggravating so instead, friend me on Xbox One and I can run through more tips in the game. My gamer tag is Paragonnova10.
The paratoad is the reason the New World can never be civilized. The Elder Dragons can't kill it. The Elder Dragon killer himself can't kill it. I doubt even Zorah Magdaros' meltdown could stop it. And not even the hunters can slay it. All fall before the paratoad's might. Our only mercy it that there hasn't been a Toad Crossing. Not yet anyway.

Nergi was bullshit compared to the later elders, tho kirin comes close with that super kirin transformation, while teostra was the easiest. Havent beat xeno yet sinve i have trouble even hitting him with my dual blades in between him spamming the 1 hko ground explosion attack
I fondly remember the time when Nergigante was the hardest Elder Dragon in the new world. If you could solo him you were a god. Everyone thought twice before fighting Tempered Nergi, and we were terrified of AT Nergigante. Those were good times

in case you didnt know, the reason his hitboxes are so big is because most of his moves also spray spikes if he has any on the attacking body part. the dive bomb is especially deadly because he sprays spikes in a huge area around him as he dives. that means his attacks not only become weaker, but also easier to dodge once you break them off (or if he does it for you)
I dont think Diablos is that bad,but that depends on which weapon you are using to hunt i believe. Diablos attacks can be dodge much more easily than Nergigante *because he doesnt fly* ,you could say that he can dig the ground instead,but its very easy to dodge his underground attacks when you are running,meanwhile is extremelly hard to dodge flying attacks from Nergigante,especially the divebomb that can 1 shot you.
You know when I first watched the animation and when you showed the 'speed' part I didn't get it. Until I finally got to fight Nergigante and realized I was LITERALLY across the area from it and suddenly in that one move where he slams his claw down to the ground he was right in front of me. O_o Never in my years of MH have I ever screamed like I did when that happened. The only ever time I did scream like that was when Deviljho came to fuck me over in tri when I got to high rank hunting Queropeco. XD
Nah the peak of fear is when a Lv.140 emraged Golden Rajang (MH4U) starts kamikaze bombing you from the sky and all you can do is panic dive to survive, then once he stops that he starts firing satellite lasers out of his mouth...*shivers*
That was honest brilliant. You put every type of humor in there this was seriously well done. I saw humor from looney toons to anime. I laughed the whole time. I loved this.
Deadrocky Actually most of his attacks throw spikes that hurt you if pay attention. Most of his hitboxes are fine however the spikes are so small and fast they hit wherever. (Though the one wing attack hitbox sucks.)
Let me tell ya boys the hit boxes are fine I took down gigante by myself it was easy I broke his horns and cut the tail it's not that hard. All things considered it's probely cuz I'm a veteran. I just finished xeno-jiva today I should have yesterday but I was helping somebody btw the final cut scene + credits is longgggg
The hit boxes are so broken and honestly is what makes this fight freaking insane. I Solo hunted him with hammer and it took some serious concentration as I had 1 life left in the final area.
If you REALLY REALLY struggling with him and want to go solo: do the Elder's Recess side quest to become buddies with the Gajalaka. I don't care how OP your palico is, having a THIRD body really makes the fight easier and who doesn't want the meowlotov? PS: If your palico DOES have meowlotov, it will drop down a cute bomb when a monster goes to sleep. Just one more bomb for the occasion.
Aydarkzero yeah like don't bring traps when hunting a Elder Dragon they don't do anything this also doesn't work with certain special monsters like Shen-Gaoren Akantor and Ukanlos also apparently the thing with hitboxes with this thing is thode regenerative spikes they spray all over the place if they've grown back and he uses a attack that isn't the super dive bomb well actually they do fire with that dive bomb as well however they don't break off if it's a attack that isn't that special one which only happens when there all fully grown back
It and it's cousins do. I just wish it was like real life where the animal would normally avoid it if they were non-agroed. Kinda like how nearly everything goes out of its way to avoid a skunk or porcupine.

Ha! those hit boxes are not fixed, his tail slam can hit you if you are underneath him, and his death dive, HO! Good luck dodging that, roll out of the way still get hit.
In the beta, Nergi had a combo in which he knocked you down and then timed a second hit for the moment you stand up. I was getting fucked by it until i remembered that video you made about not standing up immediately to extend the invulnerability and managed to win.
There's always that moment when you forget you are fighting an elder dragon on a non-special area and you set a trap just to make other players look at you like a noob
You're are already dead when Nergigante is somehow learning two or three thing from Hokuto No Ken. Oh yeah, The hunters and huntresses who lost the battle with Nergigante,Please take a health Insurance from the Gulid right away.
New to MH and just passed the Nerg story mission and am now trying to farm his damn tail (eugh); this is pretty much spot on. The hitboxes, the speed, the utter confusion when he just waltzed over my traps. I didn't think I'd despise a monster more than that interfering Bazelguese (seriously, he just crashes EVERY hunt I'm on... Go. Tf. Away)
Just FYI, Nergigante is an ELDER DRAGON. ELDERs are not at all affected by traps because they can't be caught. Pay attention to the classification of the monster you're fighting so you don't waste your traps.

My nergigante experience was like “How bad can he possibly be?” Quests failed almost 50 times . . . . . . . . *F* *I* *R* *E* *S* *A* *N* *S* *O* *S* *F* *L* *A* *R* *E*
Fellow Heroes epic odagaron IG before Vice first try. I honestly didn't think he was that bad. Also found out the first time you face him like actually hunting him he has a defense buff. If you fail the quest or abandon it goes away.
He was a tough son of a gun for me. Especially since I can almost never connect, and I have no friends to play with. So the only help I had was my Palico.

Deadrocky Actually most of his attacks throw spikes that hurt you if pay attention.
Most of his hitboxes are fine however the spikes are so small and fast they hit wherever.
(Though the one wing attack hitbox sucks.)

The hit boxes are so broken and honestly is what makes this fight freaking insane. I Solo hunted him with hammer and it took some serious concentration as I had 1 life left in the final area.

If you REALLY REALLY struggling with him and want to go solo: do the Elder's Recess side quest to become buddies with the Gajalaka. I don't care how OP your palico is, having a THIRD body really makes the fight easier and who doesn't want the meowlotov?
PS: If your palico DOES have meowlotov, it will drop down a cute bomb when a monster goes to sleep. Just one more bomb for the occasion.

Aydarkzero yeah like don't bring traps when hunting a Elder Dragon they don't do anything this also doesn't work with certain special monsters like Shen-Gaoren Akantor and Ukanlos also apparently the thing with hitboxes with this thing is thode regenerative spikes they spray all over the place if they've grown back and he uses a attack that isn't the super dive bomb well actually they do fire with that dive bomb as well however they don't break off if it's a attack that isn't that special one which only happens when there all fully grown back

In the beta, Nergi had a combo in which he knocked you down and then timed a second hit for the moment you stand up. I was getting fucked by it until i remembered that video you made about not standing up immediately to extend the invulnerability and managed to win.

New to MH and just passed the Nerg story mission and am now trying to farm his damn tail (eugh); this is pretty much spot on. The hitboxes, the speed, the utter confusion when he just waltzed over my traps. I didn't think I'd despise a monster more than that interfering Bazelguese (seriously, he just crashes EVERY hunt I'm on... Go. Tf. Away)
Just FYI, Nergigante is an ELDER DRAGON. ELDERs are not at all affected by traps because they can't be caught. Pay attention to the classification of the monster you're fighting so you don't waste your traps.

Fellow Heroes epic odagaron IG before Vice first try. I honestly didn't think he was that bad. Also found out the first time you face him like actually hunting him he has a defense buff. If you fail the quest or abandon it goes away.
He was a tough son of a gun for me. Especially since I can almost never connect, and I have no friends to play with. So the only help I had was my Palico.
First try with help from others, Full Odogaron B armor and high lvl Anjanath Great Sword
