I was today years old when I realised something about this fight: Every human that Asgore killed had an item they had from the overworld, that each of them dropped somewhere in the underground. (for example Frisk has a bandage already in use when you start playing) Now, these items were items like the toy knife in the ruins, the ballet shoes in waterfall, the burnt pan in hotland… Look familiar? When Omega flowey uses each soul to fight you during the ‘act’ breaks, the attack corresponds to the item the human souls had. For example: The light blue soul (patience) had the toy knife The orange soul (bravery) had the worn gloves The blue soul (integrity) had the ballet shoes The purple soul (perseverance) had the torn notebook The green soul (kindness) had the burnt pan The yellow soul (justice) had the empty gun I can’t believe i didn’t figure this out earlier… EDIT: this apparently goes even further, when your soul colour changes in certain battles (like the blue soul in papyrus/sans or the purple soul in muffet), you get affected by it, right? The blue soul is affected by gravity and can jump, the yellow soul can shoot, the purple soul can move across lines… yeah you see what im getting at EDIT 2: yes even further, you know how with light blue coloured attacks, you stay still? light blue is patience remember? this also sort of applies to the orange attack how you need to be moving and orange is bravery…
Omega flowey's fight gives me a huge "standing up to the bully" feel. Specially after you free all of the souls and they help you in the final part of the fight.
When it says his defense dropped to 0, I'm reminded of Father in Fullmetal Alchemist when Greed pulls a reverse shield on him and turns his body to graphite. Even a stick can do a lot of damage, in this brittle state.
The design of the battle does a great job of making the fight feel completely hopeless and overwhelming, when in actuality, after you manage to survive the first portion it's almost impossible to lose.
I realized that the reason why he's not pixelated is to show that after he absorbed the souls he pretty much became god he's the being of a higher power and it is showcased by him being more detailed and photo realistic than every other character
I really really like how toby created the incomprehensible. Instead of cencoring, or doing an approximation, he shifted the ENTIRE game down and then made him at our level. He's a 3d being in a 2d world, a real image in an 8 bit world. That's what most animations lose about him. If undertale was as detailed as real life, flowey wouldn't still be that thing. Flowey would be like Cthulhu, incomprehensible and eldritch.
I don't think people understand how DETAILED this fight is compared to the rest of undertale. Like, to the point where this fight alone is probably 70% of the game's data. Making flowey's sprite do all that moving is harder than it looks, I applaud toby for it.

9:00 God I love how Flowey starts off slow due to the shock of you actually fighting back, but as soon as the shock fades away, he goes from incredibly slow back to full power in a desperate attempt to kill you. This fight is going to be one of those parts of a story that sticks with me for the rest of my life. I just remember suddenly feeling so..... panicked and completely, helplessly overrun.
This is my favorite fight in the game, the music makes it even better, Undertale has a special part of my heart, specially this scene, I love it so much...
Look closely at Flowey's eyes when he tells you he's going to save over your death. You'll find that he's not actually looking at Frisk - but at something in the bottom-left corner of the screen.
In my opinion this is one of the best boss fights in gaming history because at the beginning you have this unusual feeling that you have lost everything. At the start of the boss you feel like you’re going to die the whole time until the other human souls arrive giving you some hope to survival. At the end of the fight you feel like you’re gonna die but because the souls heal you it gives you that tiny bit of determination to survive and the soundtrack at the end motivates you to keep going and when i played it for the first time, it was a feeling I couldn’t explain and i still can’t explain it to this day
The thing about this is... you really are trapped by Flowey until you defeat him. No resets, no reloading, not even a menu... just straight to torture. Scary stuff
The intro is really underrated, probably the coolest part of the fight and also has foreshadowing to the genocide run given that it's describing what flowey's done and what you will do
Omega Flowey is a really different fight. Not like the other ones,it's always your and Omega Flowey's turn. You can attack soon as the Fight button appears,but Flowey doesn't stop attacking when it appears. Flowey attacks much faster than any other monster,even faster than Sans. You can't act(you can when he says"call for help,i dare you"but that's kinda a cutscene)you don't know how much HP you have,you can't eat any items but,instead of items the souls help you. After all you can't spare(why would you tho)there is no buttons. There is just fight. And when all the 6 souls start helping us,Flowey becomes much easier. Even though it still puts your dodging skill to hell,you deal more damage. And when the souls appear,they betray Flowey and kill him. And yeah. Long comment. And you see,you just finished your Neutral Run or your Pacifist run(not true pacifist though)
Seeing the realistic face on the screen is more terrifying when you remember that flowey is actually a flower that came to life because of someone dying

There are disturbing similarities between Omega Flowey and Spamton NEO on the Snowgrave route from Deltarune Chapter 2. Namely "You called for help" and "Kris called out for help". The Spamton also taunting the player, saying something akin to "Go ahead, scream into the receiver, see if anyone hears you!" The ending of chapter 2 has shown a TV screen turning on to reveal a wide, evil smile. The basement of Queen's castle has music with the leitmotif of Your Best Nightmare. A scary face appears in that basement randomly when you reach the cliff before the teacup ride. And when you use your CELL in the hallway with those chomping blue traps on the ceiling, their expression becomes eerily similar to both Omega Flowey's smile and Gaster's smile when you attempt to interact with him.
I played undertale when I was home sick from school one day, and got through to this part of the game in the evening when my mom got home from work. She walked in right as Omega Flowey was revealed onscreen. I will never forget the look of fear and confusion on her face upon seeing him on the screen--

No, I'll point out that 6 souls are stronger than 1 determination soul (determination is stronger than any of the 6 souls but 6 souls combined they are more powerful) . As a result flowey combined with 6 human souls are the stronger than frisk , so Flowey has the control over timelines, if what I said is right (which probably is) only one determined human can live, unless they die in which another is born, but that cannot happen due to resetting.

I really never found much interests in undertale back when I was younger; I watched videos of it, but nothing really stood out, I mostly watched it because of the creator. Just a few days ago, I randomly got “Your Best Nightmare” on my Spotify shuffle (it was in an old playlist) and somehow just fell in love with it. The feeling of adrenaline in the song really is urging me to buy this game single-handedly

Guys I just realized something.. Everytime a soul interrupts Flowey with the warning thing is a refrence to earlier made. The 1st interruption has knives as an attack and you find a toy knife in the Ruins (Toy Knife) The 2nd are gloves which you find in Snowdin (Tough Glove) The 3rd are ballet shoes which are weapons in Waterfall (Ballet Shoes) The 4th are Notebooks which is sold by Gerson (Torn Notebook) The 5th are frying pans which you find in Hotland (Burnt Pan) Then the 6th is a gun which you can buy from Bratty and Catty outside MTT hotel (Empty Gun)

I remember I needed help from my best friend and brother to win this one when I first played in 2016. My brother played this by himself for the first time a month ago and he won on the first try! I was so amazed. But no matter what, the moment his defense drops and Finale starts playing, it's the most epic thing ever
The absolute chaos and the background music will stick with me forever. The spirits breaking through and the warning noise was terrifying for reasons I can’t explain. The tortured souls coming back to help you. I remember thinking that pressing ACT would activate a message like “…but nobody came”, so I was extremely surprised that I got healed. This battle is unlike everything in the game, and basically your determination is highest at this point after SPOILER: A pacifist run when flowey kills asgore, Which is extremely clever of Toby
The beauty of the Omega flowey fight is in the little details. The battle starts and flowey saves just in case. First off, when you attack Omega flowey (without the souls) he sounds almost amused, like "Oh! That tickles!", All while the TV screen displays the faces of the tormented souls. Second, literally none of his attacks make any sense. You are never able to see anything coming. Nuclear bombs? Flies? Green balls with teeth? Flamethrowers? Fingers with flowers on the end? Complete madness, like all the power of the seven souls has driven flowey to insanity, and he loves it. Also, whenever the souls are about to attack, the TV flashes a "warning" sign. I like to imagine the warning is from the souls to the player, to help prep them as best they can. While on the subject of the souls, during the soul fights, some variant of flowey's theme plays, but when you call for help and they give you health, it plays music unlike any in the game, it sounds comforting and reassuring. Skip to phase 2: a cutscene plays. All the souls surround you, and a take on flowey's theme plays, but this time it's encouraging. It knows that whatever is about to happen is gonna be tough, but you all know you can make it through fine. Then is the final battle. Flower starts abusing his powers as much as possible, creating and loading saves, throwing out attacks in a less telegraphed manner, but your attacks start to actually have effect on him. He sounds amused as usual at first, but as he realizes you're killing him, he starts crying out in pain and frustration, now he legitimately _fears_ you. You deal the finishing blow, and Flowey is visibly hurt. He begins to speak... And loads the save from the beginning of the fight. He is unscathed despite the epic battle that just ensued, but the souls are unaffected by the load. They are still free from Flowey's control, and they use their power to at last kill the monster that kept them enslaved and tortured throughout the whole fight.
I love how omega flowey is introduced just having the song start with the sirens then lowering it down then the music stops showing him fully while flowey laughs at ur hopelessness from the screen

In my opinion this is one of the best boss fights in gaming history because at the beginning you have this unusual feeling that you have lost everything. At the start of the boss you feel like you’re going to die the whole time until the other human souls arrive giving you some hope to survival. At the end of the fight you feel like you’re gonna die but because the souls heal you it gives you that tiny bit of determination to survive and the soundtrack at the end motivates you to keep going and when i played it for the first time, it was a feeling I couldn’t explain and i still can’t explain it to this day

Omega Flowey has one of the most motivating boss themes I have ever heard in my entire life
Omega Flowey is a really different fight. Not like the other ones,it's always your and Omega Flowey's turn. You can attack soon as the Fight button appears,but Flowey doesn't stop attacking when it appears.
Flowey attacks much faster than any other monster,even faster than Sans.
You can't act(you can when he says"call for help,i dare you"but that's kinda a cutscene)you don't know how much HP you have,you can't eat any items but,instead of items the souls help you. After all you can't spare(why would you tho)there is no buttons. There is just fight.
And when all the 6 souls start helping us,Flowey becomes much easier. Even though it still puts your dodging skill to hell,you deal more damage.
And when the souls appear,they betray Flowey and kill him.
And yeah. Long comment.
And you see,you just finished your Neutral Run or your Pacifist run(not true pacifist though)
They don't kill him. They take his powers away and make him extremely weak, but they don't kill him.

This one is my favorites of the whole game. It’s so cinematic and the boss theme is so good.
There are disturbing similarities between Omega Flowey and Spamton NEO on the Snowgrave route from Deltarune Chapter 2. Namely "You called for help" and "Kris called out for help". The Spamton also taunting the player, saying something akin to "Go ahead, scream into the receiver, see if anyone hears you!"
The ending of chapter 2 has shown a TV screen turning on to reveal a wide, evil smile. The basement of Queen's castle has music with the leitmotif of Your Best Nightmare. A scary face appears in that basement randomly when you reach the cliff before the teacup ride.
And when you use your CELL in the hallway with those chomping blue traps on the ceiling, their expression becomes eerily similar to both Omega Flowey's smile and Gaster's smile when you attempt to interact with him.

No, I'll point out that 6 souls are stronger than 1 determination soul (determination is stronger than any of the 6 souls but 6 souls combined they are more powerful) . As a result flowey combined with 6 human souls are the stronger than frisk , so Flowey has the control over timelines, if what I said is right (which probably is) only one determined human can live, unless they die in which another is born, but that cannot happen due to resetting.

I really never found much interests in undertale back when I was younger; I watched videos of it, but nothing really stood out, I mostly watched it because of the creator. Just a few days ago, I randomly got “Your Best Nightmare” on my Spotify shuffle (it was in an old playlist) and somehow just fell in love with it. The feeling of adrenaline in the song really is urging me to buy this game single-handedly

The 1st interruption has knives as an attack and you find a toy knife in the Ruins (Toy Knife)

The 3rd are ballet shoes which are weapons in Waterfall (Ballet Shoes)
The 4th are Notebooks which is sold by Gerson (Torn Notebook)

Experiencing this fight for the first time was so genuinely mind blowing and emotional, I'm glad that I didn't got spoiled.
I remember I needed help from my best friend and brother to win this one when I first played in 2016. My brother played this by himself for the first time a month ago and he won on the first try! I was so amazed. But no matter what, the moment his defense drops and Finale starts playing, it's the most epic thing ever
This is actually very fitting given the themes of the battle: cooperation and helping the ones you love.
The absolute chaos and the background music will stick with me forever. The spirits breaking through and the warning noise was terrifying for reasons I can’t explain. The tortured souls coming back to help you. I remember thinking that pressing ACT would activate a message like “…but nobody came”, so I was extremely surprised that I got healed. This battle is unlike everything in the game, and basically your determination is highest at this point after

The beauty of the Omega flowey fight is in the little details.
The battle starts and flowey saves just in case.
First off, when you attack Omega flowey (without the souls) he sounds almost amused, like "Oh! That tickles!", All while the TV screen displays the faces of the tormented souls.
Second, literally none of his attacks make any sense. You are never able to see anything coming. Nuclear bombs? Flies? Green balls with teeth? Flamethrowers? Fingers with flowers on the end? Complete madness, like all the power of the seven souls has driven flowey to insanity, and he loves it.
Also, whenever the souls are about to attack, the TV flashes a "warning" sign. I like to imagine the warning is from the souls to the player, to help prep them as best they can.
While on the subject of the souls, during the soul fights, some variant of flowey's theme plays, but when you call for help and they give you health, it plays music unlike any in the game, it sounds comforting and reassuring.
Skip to phase 2: a cutscene plays. All the souls surround you, and a take on flowey's theme plays, but this time it's encouraging. It knows that whatever is about to happen is gonna be tough, but you all know you can make it through fine. Then is the final battle. Flower starts abusing his powers as much as possible, creating and loading saves, throwing out attacks in a less telegraphed manner, but your attacks start to actually have effect on him. He sounds amused as usual at first, but as he realizes you're killing him, he starts crying out in pain and frustration, now he legitimately _fears_ you.
You deal the finishing blow, and Flowey is visibly hurt. He begins to speak...
And loads the save from the beginning of the fight. He is unscathed despite the epic battle that just ensued, but the souls are unaffected by the load. They are still free from Flowey's control, and they use their power to at last kill the monster that kept them enslaved and tortured throughout the whole fight.
