When I first saw Teo's intro cutscene I was honestly awestruck at the sheer badassery of it, and things only got better when this absolute banger started playing. Needless to say he instantly became one of my favourite monsters in the game and has retained that position ever since
Its introduction just means "do you really dare to challenge me, the emperor of the flames?"

I prefer the rotten vale theme. It seems like an intense boss fight song to me

Bow has changed in iceborne, before iceborne has my favorite weapon,high dps and mobility
It's not that bad. But maybe it's because I've been playing bow for like 3 years. Not the best weapon but it has style and I love it.
@@choonce4696 I mean that the arrows from the bow against the teostra are useless unless you hit him in the head. The weapon itself is great
Fitting, given the flame king dragon’s rival.
I could listen to this for days. I love fighting Teostra just for the theme. Tempered is more fun because the fight is longer. ^_^

One of the things I love about this theme is that it fits Teostra so well, it sounds reminiscent of Roman War music, and all of Teostra’s weapons are Roman themed like the Teostra Spada

After the brutal slaughtering of his flock, Lambert the Sheepish Lion fled to the volcano and trained, soon becoming a master of the flames around it. He donned himself an armor of scales, grew wings, and set out into the world to avenge is flock, no longer Lambert, but the Emperor of Flame himself

This is soooooo goooood! The old theme only reminded me of the environment it was in didn't really feel in.... But this one is more majestic , heroic , vibrant , alive.... It's reminds me of what I'm up against like the theme actually belongs to Teostra and he owns it .... One of my favorite themes of the game

I wish we had more stuff like this for the monsters in the series! Like, the hunter's notes cover a VERY basic description of a monster. I always liked the ecology videos that showcased natural behaviors that weren't always monsters fighting things.
This and bazel are hands down the best themes in mhw. Really suits Teostra so well, an ancient foe that is the master of fire, deemed the most powerful of elder dragons. Really emphasises that you are facing a truly legendary foe. Also considering he’s a lion and lions are known as the kings of the jungle, they did well making this theme very regal. Even Teostras body language in the game is spot on and ties in with who he is. The beat is a perfect mix of ferocious fire and powerfull regality.
Sad he's considered a low-tier/common elder.

Hs isn't considered the most powerful Elder Dragon though, just the most skillful "Fire" Elder Dragon.
Even that is debatable as Fatalis exists and is way more destructive with its flames.

@@borzoilover4156 i mean canonically Iceborne tells us that the Iceborne fight is actually the first ever Fatalis the Guild has ever encountered, so you are right. But still, so many monsters have better fire power than Teostra, the Metal Raths, Flaming Espinas, all have arguably stronger firepower than Teostra.

New World Teostra is justifiably sure of its nigh-unchallenged place at the top of the food chain, so he has no reason to waste energy on something as seemingly insignificant as a small unknown creature, especially in the Elder's Recess, where he can live entirely on the bioenergy-rich crystals. It's only when you attack him does he realize that you need to be eliminated.
Old World Teostras, meanwhile, have had hundreds or even thousands of years of interactions with people, and they know that when a small two-legged creature wielding a big metal stick approaches you, it's time to fight.

I could go into this in far greater depth. Being with this franchise since the start. Stopped gaming years ago, but I don't mind. New version don't provide the challenges I once faced.

There are definitely parts in the original theme that are superior but overall I love the regality and power that is conveyed through this version. If some of the brass had a bit more punch to it this would go from really really good to great
As a trombone and tuba player, I wholeheartedly agree. They didn’t feature low brass a lot in MHW in favor of trumpets, and this theme would’ve been perfect for loud, explosive low brass segments fit for the infernal emperor.

While so many themes in this game are absolutely phenomenal, this one never fails to give me chills
I don't know exactly why but Teostra really reminds me of Entei from Pokemon Gen 2.

Watch your ass Magnamalo, the king is back and pissed off as hell for taking over his waifu's flames.
This sounds way more powerful and regal than the original theme but I understand way people like the original theme
to me Teostra older theme is for a younger, scrappier King who fights and mocks his enemies. Teostra's world theme is an Older King in his twilight years the youthful flare he had is gone but his flame for combat hasn't extinguished, if its a fight you want a fight you're going to get.

I'm partially glad that I don't have nostalgia spoil things for me in this game......which also makes me slightly sad if there is another monster hunter game in the future. Seeing the game for the first time won't be the same

Teos theme has a much more imposing and emperor like feel while Luna has a more elegant empress type motif

This definitely was the hardest boss out of the main game. Him and Nergigante were extremely hard for the newbie I was. Kushala and Hazak were still challenging, but goddamn.

My favorite elder dragon to fight
Was helping a friend of mine beat the elder dragons before fighting Xenojiva, and they managed to SOLO Teostra with the Gunlance. AND THEY WEREN'T OPTIMIZED FOR THE FIGHT!
teostra is the second easiest of the elder dragons right after baalsack imo
So heres my explanation
Teostra has some beats which represents some myth of Sun (Teo) Moon (Luna) Teostras theme has that backround music which is a lower pitch compares to Lunastra that has a higher pitch in the theme they are making Teostra look more harsh rather than the even harsher Lunastra.

I love the feel they went for, but it’s missing some oomph. Harder brass and more intense drums would do it. Still prefer the original, though this one is way more fitting for the Emperor of Flames.

Sounds like MHFU Theme. Teostra and Lunastra have always been my favorite elder dragons.
