    Barley is rich in Net Carbs, GI doesn't indicate the how much of blood sugar spike. Barley has almost 60 gms of NET carbs per 100 gms, which is too much for a person with metabolic issues - diabetics per say

    Thank you so very, very much, Dr. Gupta! While some of the foods you list my gut microbes don't like in the least, others I used to eat regularly. Then I started eating less (but not wisely) in order to lose weight. Need to go back to eating my legumes and apples and bananas. One point, if I may, about steel-cut vs. rolled oats: I've had both, but do rolled oats really that little fiber content compared to steel-cut?

    When I googled, 100g of barley has 73.48g of carbs and wheatflour has around the same 72.57 gm.
    But in the video you have said, barley has very less carbs when compared to wheat flour.

    All prebiotic contents described are in raw form . These are mostly disintegrated when cooked. So barley , lentils and beans consumed cooked will be of no use
