So Hidock did a short video showing that they got much higher speeds through the usb port in the hub. I did tested it with multiple cables and got the same result, but just thought I would let you know. K. Bye!
I know this type of pain. I've recently gotten into pc building and my best friend gave me his old PC. The one he used to crush us in WOW back in the day, with, only to find out that it was a single core cpu. Had me wondering. WTH how did he own us and so many with what amounts to a 1990s cpu.
I'm fairly sure the manufacturer didn't expect a drawing tablet to be tested in games, but maybe the manufacturer will learn something from it. Or maybe not.
As someone who has spent many years reviewing Drawing Tablets, including Veikk ones, it was quite fun seeing someone try one out who has never messed with one at all XD Also the artist glove they provide is mainly for keeping oils of your hand off the drawing surface, and letting your hand slide more smoothly across said surface. The only have the Pinky and Ring fingers cause that's all that touches the surface, and you want to have normal skin feeling touching the drawing tool usually just for feel when drawing.
Clarkson sometimes gets a bit strange about things other than cars, recently he was in the news for a badly received column he wrote about Meghan, Duchess of Sussex.
Audio on the dock thing was shockingly decent Vs most conference table mics. Real test of those things is how much noise the pick up from someone writing at the table, nothing like hearing someone take notes when you're on the other side of the line.
Hands down this man has the best personality in tech RUclips. His comparisons are absolutely hilarious, and it’s so enjoyable. It’s nice when people just can be themselves instead of following some script.
Not a single "thiddy" in this video immediately makes it a little less entertaining, but Dawid reviewing random tech crap is just so fun to watch that it's still a solid 10/10 🤓👍🏻
Your utter bewilderment at the drawing tablet had me laughing, right as I'm sitting down to draw at mine with this video on in the background! I'm sure someone else has told you already, but the glove isn't for palm rejection as it's not a touch enabled device; it's so you don't get the oils from your skin building up on the surface of the device and to stop the side of your hand from getting friction burn when you use it for a long time.
@@DawidDoesTechStuff I hope you get sent some good stuff, like cool IEM/audiophile gear, enthusiast custom keyboards, ultralight mice, haptic headphones, so on.
that half glove is for being able to slide your hand along the surface more easily and so that you don't smudge it with hand oils, it's actually pretty usual and a must have for most digital artists, the dial is not for volume really but usually for adjusting some kind of variable like brush size or opacity, and the pressure sensitivity of 8k is pretty standard and possibly even on the lower end nowdays
The Beats Gear thing has had many implementations over the years, but the only effective ones are the Buttshakers, which are a speaker driver with no cone that you mount to the bottom of your seat. For many genres this has no value, but with sim-racing it can help with immersion as you feel the vibration of the engine and the bumps in a way that makes more sense. It's especially effective in rally racing because there's always vibrations and bumps going on.
Felt like it's worth mentioning that there are essentially way better versions of the Beatsgear. I have a Subpac S2 which is a really similar concept to it, in that it's essentially a vibrating pillow for your back (or arse or feet?), but it's an actual tactile transducer that's basically a proper subwoofer driver without a diaphragm, where it uses you as the subwoofer instead. It can use a wired connection to avoid any latency and it's able to reproduce actual bass frequencies accurately, in fact it's so good that you can use it to monitor the bass in professional music production. Subpac were one of the first companies to make these, but their latest product, the X1, appears to be vapourware and no one actually got them even though they've been announced like years ago.
The drawing tablet: it takes a while to get used to the disconnect between your had and the screen. For a more natural experience you want to use a tablet that is also a screen. I've used one of these (not that brand) for years so I've gotten used to it bit it still would be better with a screen one like the Huion Kanvas series. The physical buttons on thus one look really nice.
with the sheer amount of random crap people try to get youtubers to review I know you will never run out of content if you decide you want this series to keep going. Which I 100% encourage!
Thank you for 20 minutes of completely wasting my time... I really needed the laugh and stupidity today hahaha These video's with those random stuff are really awesome. The Beatsthingvibrationthing almost killed me of laughter. Thanks again.
for the Veikk. in the driver app. you can change the mode from pen input to mouse. so it acts more like a mouse for controlling the cursor on the screen.
The translator thing, though a huge fail in this case, does show that we're getting much closer to the point of having an actual Babelfish. I can see this happening within the next few years, which is pretty interesting for people that travel internationally.
with the drawing tablet, you can just go into the driver software and select mouse mode. This makes it act more like a mouse, or you can increase the sensitivity.
I could see the appeal of the Hiblock: you would only need to plug in just 1 usb c cable and everything that you needed at that moment at the conference.. like the beamer and the usb c powersupply etc would be all set up in place, instead of having to take ages to get everything in place.... like... instead of having to work out what cable the beamer uses for video and/ or audio it's already set up on the box and ready to go!
I was actually at a hybrid meeting the other day and my boss had a dock like that one. The USB 3 port was for a web cam, and the mic and speaker was much better for everyone around the tracker to use than what his laptop was. Amazing quality, no, did a good job, yes!
I feel like HiDock is pitching this thing for the wrong purpose. I think this thing would be a good hands-free calling device for a phone. If you have an older car that doesn't have Bluetooth or steering wheel controls, then this thing could be a good way to add that sort of functionality. The big buttons mean you won't be fiddling with it trying to answer a call or hang up. The buttons are huge and easy to read. It has all the buttons you'd want for calling. Answer, hang up, mute, speaker, and volume. Not sure what use you would get out of the IO, but I don't guess it hurts that it's there.
