Jk, in all honesty if you have a beast PC, Xenia Emulator is by far the best way to play RDR 1 now. Some of the indoors have flickery shadows but playing the game at 4k 60fps is a sight to behold. Baffling Rockstar don't just re-release it as is with no changes. It holds up really well in 4k, I even think it looks better than GTA 5 I'd say!

Arthur is definitely the higher definition character now so when we move to John it's not quite the same, but going back to 1 his character is much more fully enjoyable and the world is more desert cowboy. I like both for different reasons but 1 is definitely more what I think of for a western movie.

I promise you're not the only one who loved GTA 4's car physics. The way the car lurches to the side when you come swinging around a corner is so reminiscent of old 70s and 80s chase scenes to me, especially when you see the suspension jiggle around. Cars feel weighty and dangerous. I even prefer not being able to control my car in the air, unlike how you can somehow magically tilt your entire vehicle while airborne in GTA 5. One other thing is GTA 4's motorcycles feel tangibly different, and you can more easily be knocked off than in 5. In 5 it feels like your player character is glued to the seat and feels all stiff.
And seeing your character launch out of the front windscreen is still one of my favorite things ever.

For me Arthur Morgan is the best protagonist in video game history because Dan Houser, the other writers and Roger Clark did a perfect job at making him someone you can sympathise with and making him feel like a real character and your there alongside him, watching his life play out. Not only that but Roger is a great guy in general. He's very patient with fans, he loves to communicates with fans, he's happy to talk to people about their problems and tries to make it clear that theres more than just voice acting when it comes to video game characters. Rockstar not only created the perfect protagonist they found the perfect guy to play him and it's another example of Rockstar doing good for the world.

Objectively I think GTA SA is their greatest acheivement. What they did with the technology available, and how it compared to the competition, was truly astounding. Subjectively my favorite was GTA3. Coming from GTA2, the difference was unbelievable. The impact on me as a kid, being able to drive and explore an adult world, was huge. Yes their quality of games is incredible and unbeatable, but they destroy the games by adding useless and annoying things nobody ever wanted.
Then they’re also very greedy, just look at the Sharkcard prices.
In Germany you get 100.000 credits for 2,49€.
All the new content is overpriced and especially as a new player it’s hard to get started.
They have great games that they destroy by greediness.

The first Rockstar game was GTA 4. The game was my childhood. I remember my half bro playing the game, and handing me the controller to play. I didn't understand anything. Now I'm 18, a decade or so after I played the game, and I still come back to GTA 4, to relive my childhood. To relive the world that I ended up enjoying so much. My half brother passed away 5 years ago, and the one thing I remember is me and him reenacting one of the ending scenes in GTA 4. I am going to keep going for him, and I am going to keep playing the game that he introduced me to, and I instantly fell in love with.

As someone who never really enjoyed having parts of the map locked off until you do a number of main quests, I thoroughly enjoyed being able to go literally anywhere in GTA V. You could go from Los Santos to Sandy Shores to Paleto with no restrictions and explore 90% of the map, and even go right up Mt Chiliad if you chose to. Earlier GTA games, you COULD go to other parts of the map but your wanted level would always make it extremely risky if you happened to get past any barriers and weren't in a train or place virtually inaccessible for NPCs. And then GTA V came along and the map restrictions were gone, you could go anywhere and even visit places that were part of the campaign before you kicked it off. And the physics were definitely an upgrade from GTA 4, those physics also being an upgrade to earlier games as well. Vehicle physics and the return of customization options were amazing.
