Not really. Rockstar always had a “controversy for the sake of profit “ mentality. Look at how when GTA 3 released, they removed all 9/11 references or in SA they removed references to hot coffee just so the game could sell more

@@FraserSouris 1. GTA Online sucks and everyone knows unless you only play GTA and GTA and more GTA, no matter how many Cayo Pericos, Doomsdays or Diamond Casinos, that would never reach the bar New Vegas, EFLC and Witcher 3 has. 2. Oh yeah what's next? N4Z*? CP? i don't think 9/11 is a good idea at the first place, sure feel free to throw muricans fat soldiers vs middle east suicide bombers jokes, but that is a tragedy. 3. Yeah but who else would help it 'normalizing' it? GOW1 & 2 never had an actual scene of doing things ,the camera just moves away while giving you buttons and analog prompts. 4. +1 Rockstar have a problem with mission designs, while Deus Ex and Morrowind had more details than RDR2 back in 2002.
same. I could say this for other franchises I care about too, people would rather enable them than just stop. The best that we can easily do in my opinion is to not stop playing (piracy is always an option) but to boycott it. Because its all what they seem to care about now, right?
The ending made me get really emotional. I am also somebody that had their childhood made by Rockstar Games and the entire crew behind the 3D GTAs. This video series was brilliant and I'm so grateful you made this.

@No Body It's a shame. I'm really gonna miss those guys...the real R* games. I'm gonna play GTA5 story mode one...last...time...and say my goodbyes to real quality games forever.
That's what we got for making them top 1 company in the videogame history since they have no competition they won't release more games so soon. Gta 5 sold more than the biggest movies, that's why they won't release gta 6 so soon and keep focusing on multiplayer...
@@Nunvalt223 And it's not like good competitors haven't existed, Saints Row 2 and Sleeping Dogs were definitely close to and possibly better than GTA, Problem is at least with Saints Row they were getting called gta clones and I assume that's why they made Saints Row 3, well, bad. I have no idea what happened to Sleeping Dogs but either way, Seems like almost all studios don't even attempt to make any modern-crime-open-world anymore, and the ones that do don't make very good ones.
It really won't, but it was a nice way for him to vent, and for us to feel validated in our complaints as well because he managed to put all of our grievances with R* into incredibly well made videos. @@pedinhuh16 Im not disagreeing as you make valid points. But im also just speaking in general as some devs do listen to community feedback, sadly, Rockstar isnt one of them. Only a staff change at Take Two can change that.
What we need is devs watching this and protesting against the new Rockstar inside the studio so that Rockstar and T2 would be forced to finally listen. Every dev should act together on the same time because Rockstar can't just fire 1000 people like that. But that will never happen unfortunatly... passion is gone even among the devs
Rockstar always achieves immersion on their games, even older ones like GTA SA feels more lifeful than several current games And this level of quality that Rockstar has is the same as with your channel
I’d argue that Rockstar often aim for immersion over gameplay. Like, say what you will about Ubisoft’s games but at least they don’t mission fail you for trying to be creative. Watch Dogs 2 won’t tell you to try again if you try and kill a target in a different way than what’s intended. While RDR2 or GTAV will fail you for sometimes even going off road.

The fact that you are willing to go this far and say everything that needs to be said, shows how much you really care about the game franchises Rockstar makes and the people responsible for crafting them. I would love to hear you talk about other things like Cyberpunk 2077, or Battlefield 2042, or that Spider-Man game wanting to be remade because the creator of the original wants to remake it. I would love to hear you talk about all of these things, and I sure hope to see such videos of you discussing about them in the future. For me, Rockstar is just like every other AAA video game company now. All of these AAA companies have had their heyday. Ubisoft push the boundaries of Military/SWAT games, right alongside Splinter Cell and its stealth game play, and the arise of Assassin's Creed and Far Cry. Activision with its COD series between COD4 to Black Ops 2. EA with its polished games, where their older game showing interesting game play mechanics than their modern releases. All of these companies have had their moments that'll lived on for rest of time. But who knows though, maybe Rockstar, or at least one of these companies, will turn a corner for the better, a slim chance, but it doesn't hurt to think on it.

What's really sad is not the death, but slow decline and decay of such brilliant game developers like Rockstar. It hurts to see abandoned franchises that still have fanbases that get ignored, or even their popular titles (GTA/RDR) that get ignored. Plenty of amazing ideas out there that have been seen by Rockstar that get ignored, that would breathe new life into such games/franchises. They only listen to money, money talks - even willing to sacrifice what little reputation they gained with RDR 2 on the trilogy just to make a quick buck. Maybe one day we will see a company like the Old Rockstar North, or even Rockstar themselves come back, but I fear it won't be anytime soon. Players keep playing/buying their games, so why change when the money keeps rolling in? Edit: 11:30 and That shows how they've changed, be it because of Take-Two, Rockstar themselves, shareholders, money or all the above. It shows their heart changed, sure they still have some people in the works who can create good content, but the heart isn't there like it used to be, money is the most important thing now. As RDR Online being completely abandoned (and other beloved franchises simply not existing anymore) has proven.

I invest more into their online than any other.

Let's be honest, Rockstar Games is a different company now. They only care about money
@No Body It's a shame. I'm really gonna miss those guys...the real R* games. I'm gonna play GTA5 story mode one...last...time...and say my goodbyes to real quality games forever.
@GTA All Day So Everywhere is front wheel drive? Okay, then older GTA are rear wheel drive.
Rockstar is irrelevant, Take-Two are the ones making the decisions

@@pedinhuh16 Im not disagreeing as you make valid points. But im also just speaking in general as some devs do listen to community feedback, sadly, Rockstar isnt one of them. Only a staff change at Take Two can change that.
I'm 100% sure the devs are watching. But changes? Very unlikely.
Rockstar always achieves immersion on their games, even older ones like GTA SA feels more lifeful than several current games

I have watched a ton of videos, but you are the only content creator who does this much details, that's exactly the definition of made with love, I would really like to see more videos about other companies and games as well

Edit:
11:30 and That shows how they've changed, be it because of Take-Two, Rockstar themselves, shareholders, money or all the above. It shows their heart changed, sure they still have some people in the works who can create good content, but the heart isn't there like it used to be, money is the most important thing now. As RDR Online being completely abandoned (and other beloved franchises simply not existing anymore) has proven.

I remember back in the day, you could upload songs from CDs onto the OG Xbox hard drive. Then in San Andreas, you could actually listen to the music on your hard drive through a special station on the radio. It was mind blowing at the time. Listening to your own music in game.
Rockstar is the king of single player DLC and games, but are bad when it comes to online games.
true?
@@HdyMac22 Yes
I invest more into their online than any other.
Say what you will but grinding in game money or buying shark cards for a currency you can buy, apartments, cars, weapons, clothes, businesses, ect. is a hell of a lot better than spending 20 bucks for spartan cat ears *cough* Halo Infinite*cough*
I'm not saying it's right, but compared to a lot of other games you can do more with real/fake money.
DLC has been free for 9 years....i really can't complain.
My only gripe is how dirty they did RDO.
I play both, but I made some genuine friends on the frontier.
Well the more simple the game the better they do max payne 3 online midnight la online and gta4
They could be king of online games as well if they actually tried.
A fitting ending to this incredible, very important, and very long series. Well done! Look forward to seeing where this channel goes from here.
Immersion is so true, when it storms in rdr2 I actually look for a place to get out of the rain because it FEELS terrible. I can smell the mud in Lemoyne.
