    My recommendation for dumping the cassette.
    1. Walk with confidence
    2. Carry it vs roll it if possible
    3. Port a poties are awesome
    4. Your sewer clean out at the house outside works really well

    I sure hope that tank/water line don't freeze. I've had to deal with that many times in real cold temps. In Northern BC I resorted to putting my sewer hose over the exhaust pipe to run hot exhaust over the dump tank valve and defrost it enough to open. Keep rocking!

    You should add liquid flash in the hole of the composite panel. If you don't, an eventual leak will occur and water will go in between your panel. Doing the flash will have any leak pass directly through to the inside so you can see a leak vice having it hidden for a long time possibly.

    For dumping waste, we have had a lot of luck with using vault toilets at national parks, or the family bathrooms of rest stops. Those only have one toilet, one sink and one door so you can take care of business with privacy. Also, it might be too late, but I would have kept water lines in a more insulated area. Putting them in the wall, if they freeze you won't be able to thaw them from the inside .

    • @AmbitionStrikes
      @AmbitionStrikes  3 года назад +1

      Thanks for the tips! We actually wrapped the water line in insulation before inserting in the wall and the cubby will be insulated as well, so we don’t have any major concerns with freezing.

    The shower looks great! I have never found cassette toilets useful, they are always a pain to empty and a stinky mess. What works for me is a 5 gallon bucket lined with a trash bag for solids, and a dollar store plastic jug with screw on lid for liquids (admittedly less convenient for girls). The solids go in a dumpster, the liquids get flushed down a public toilet. I made a cabinet to hold both to keep them from spilling.

    The cassette toilet was def the way to go. Gives you the option if you wanted, to have a larger gray or fresh water tank. Lots of places to dump them so no worries. Going through Texas not long ago we noticed most rest stops had dump stations. We have a small tear drop and have a normal toilet but had we had any say in the design, we would have opted for a cassette and added a larger fresh water tank.

    Be careful of the MaxxAir Fans. Humidity, if any, will corrode the internal circuit board of the fan. Everlanders, on RUclips, did a video explaining this. To prevent the circuit board from succumbing to moisture, he sprays the board with " conformal spray, a clear coat to prevent oxidation and if there is an electronic working ribbon in your fans, put some silicone at the point where it meets the board as a preventative also. MaxxAir does know of this design defect but why would they change it?? They sell more parts and fans that way. Awesome Build BTW. My back is so limiting. • @AmbitionStrikes

    You haven't put in hot water yet, I can tell you of a new way I came up with for hot water, as done the usual way I don't take shower often and I remember the water in the line get stagnant. And I came up with a new way. It's also has a water mister line also for summer and it will mist behind my fan and I got a special off and on switch that you can adjust the seconds of both.
    But, when I want a shower I put a 1- 1/2 can on the stove shower water. Iabove there 2 holes hiden in the cabinet. I put down one holes to fill it with water . Abouve the cabinet I have a garden Y adapter with off & on valve water both side. To take hot water from the can or to take water from my water tank it connected to the intake of pump.. So after I fill it. I push it back up and pull the other hose down suck water to the pump. .that line also has a shower hoses you plug in & turn to lock and take off. After that I have a valve off or on to my mister hose.
    It's work wonderful, and it keep all water in the line fresh. This is a manual propane hot water shower. LOL and my rv only has 6 gallon water tank by the passenger seat. LOL

    Awesome couple you two are. Amazing build. One quick - with all your amazing ability here; instead of having that bathroom vent/fan/light topside/outside be the plastic unit that weathers poorly and fades (likely becoming brittle over time); why not construct an aluminum cover that is vented, takes the abuse well, and looks awesome. This would also serve as a secondary level of waterproofing of this area of roof, and generally look like a million bucks. Just sayin. peace

      Additional insulation is going to be added to the toilet box, and we will be ducting heated air into the bathroom. If that was a major concern though I would definitely recommend a different model toilet that is fully inside the camper!

      @@AmbitionStrikes what I meant was that the water line you ran in the exterior wall has little to no insulation between it and the outside elements, leaving it prone to exposure from them. In construction, you're never supposed to have any plumbing on exterior walls for this reason. Not sure if the same applies, just wanted to let you know. :-)
