Hello everyone - I'm Misha, the owner of this Accord. There are many questions in the comments why I went with another Honda product. I have owned Honda and Acura products for a very long time. I've also introduced many friends and members of my family to Honda/Acura family of cars and SUVs. I've owned everything from 1994 Accord to 2003 CL Type S 6MT to the latest from Acura and Honda. I did look outside of Honda line of cars when I started shopping and everything in this price range was a massive let down. My car before the lemon TLX was a 2016 Accord Sport 2.4L 6MT. Best car I ever owned, hands down. I made a huge mistake and traded it for the TLX because I wanted a V6 and SH-AWD. Car turned out to be garbage. I lost a lot of time, money and nerves with that car. I will always miss that 2016 Accord. I wasn't going to leave Honda family because of one bad apple. I wanted to give Honda another chance and bought another Accord. So far this car has been great and I love driving it every day. PS. When I bought my civic I originally wanted the accord sport with a 6 speed or an SI sedan. The sales guy said those cars (6MT accord sport) are rare and hardly anyone request them. I was then told that Honda sadly quick making the 6 speed and my only option was a CVT. I ended up buying a a 2020 civic 6MT and I quite enjoy it. My first choice was the Ridgeline but it was out of my price range.
No mention of the power band? My biggest issue with most turbos are the initial lag and stops pulling after 4,500 rpm. NA V6’s keep pulling in the upper revs but lack the torque of turbos. I suppose you have to give something up for daily drivers unless you want to pay premium money for a more expensive car. This Accord is nice, appreciate the remarks on cable linked feel of this manual, I really wanted to hear that it felt as good as the S2000 but I’m grateful that Honda is offering this option.
From all the posts I have read on this issue it happens more in colder climates with short runs. It happens while the engine is cold and the piston rings havent expanded to the piston wall. If you use a higher quality oil such as Mobil One and better its not as bad.
Change the oil often and maybe implement a oil catch can. Id stay away from having both the gdi turbo combo. Id prefer n/a with a 4cyl but a big on like the k24. I work on my own car so working space underhood is important to me too.
@@q-bert6454 they do happen just because its relatively knew design. With any gdi engine there will be some dilution no matter what as well as carbon build up on the valves. This is due to the fuel being pressurized into the combustion chamber and a minor amount slipping past the piston rings. Also why you should use quality oil. Honda has been working on that issue to keep it down.
This reliability issue mentioned in the beginning happens more often than most will admit. The perception of faultless reliability is not true but many blindly believe it. Some make excuses for any problems a Honda (or Toyota) may have while bashing many other makes for allegedly being unreliable. I am sure I will bashed for this post. A buddy of mine had an Accord that constantly had reliability troubles. He said it was the worst car he ever owned. A friend of mine has had 2 Toyotas over his lifetime of car ownership including a Camry he currently has. He has had problems with both and said he only bought them based on the perception/reputation of reliability. I have had 2 Toytotas j my family and neither were problem free. Honda and Toyota gets lots of sales of based on this perception from people who know nothing about what they are buying or only care about a car as an appliance. So many other viable options are completely overlooked or dismissed without any consideration which is sad. Honda & Toyota are very good cars but so are 98% of all other cars today so don't ignore other options out there when buying a vehicle.
Genesis G70 2.0T is right at the $40k price range and is RWD to boot and makes similar more power/tq. I like the interior better in the Genny but Accord is right there. ruclips.net/video/Wsv4EfUWpwk/видео.html
I think it’s worth noting the aftermarket support is decent. Most of the cons are easily fixed. For less than $1000 you can add all of the acuity shifter mods (short shift adapter, aluminum bushings, rocker) eibach springs and swaybar. Then you have your tight handling car with very nice shifter feel.
I just got my first manual transmission car at 30 years old. I never learned how to drive one growing up. I bought a Hyundai Veloster N. I find myself leaving for work early so I can drive the back roads and have a little fun. This is the first time I've ever really enjoyed driving.
I wanted to buy this accord with the 2.0t 6mt but now they are so few selling and they are selling at new prices. All of them shot up 3 to 5 grand which blows. I want the car but I'm also against getting ripped. If only I had enough money saved just a few months earlier
And it's annoying as hell...if you ever stall the car and try to restart immediately you have the fucking annoying voice saying "please engage parking brake". So you flip this switch, wait a second, THEN you can start your car.
Same in Australia. It's like they're not even trying... some of the most appealing cars in their lineup (like the 3-door Civic with a manual, oof) are completely unavailable here. The Civic is CVT only unless you go all the way up to the Type R.
After Honda fell to 6th in the Japanese market they pretty much decided to become an American company. The Accord is much larger than it used to be, doesn't make much sense for most Europeans anymore. The Civic is bigger than the Accord was 10 years ago.
They cancelled it in North America too. The Accord you used to get in Europe was called Acura TSX over here, but they discontinued it in 2014.. A shame too, cause the vehicle they replaced it with (Acura TLX) isn't as good in my opinion since it's trying to replace two discontinued vehicles..
@@OlJackBurton Now that I've been watching SG for awhile, I think it's the #1 car review channel on RUclips, at least that I've seen. A lot of car channels are high on praise but very low on criticism, which makes the video an infomercial.
Just bought this car 6 weeks ago but with the automatic transmission, love it! So impressed with what Honda has done with the Accord and I previously owned several BMW models. I think it’s hard to beat this car in value for the money! Great review!
You’re like me. I’ve owned several BMW’s in the past and just got tired of the lack of reliability, maintenance costs, overall high cost of ownership. When I looked at the 2019 Honda Accord Sport 6sp and noticed simple little conveniences such as a spare tire, an oil dipstick, and a battery in the engine bay that doesn’t require registering, I was in heaven. Also, my Honda is just plain fun to drive!!
I've seen these go quickly on the used market. Either way, i hope this car sells well so that they have a reason to continue to improve the manual/sport option. Everyone complains about the lack of manuals on the internet, but when its time buy something in the real world, more often then not, they are walking out to automatic, or cvt equipped cr-v or something of that nature. Its put up or shut up time with cars like this that are quickly dying!
gladdy02 I wanted to buy a manual transmission Accord but out of 35 models, not one of them was a MT-and the dealer said the second one comes in it is sold... So it seems like perhaps Honda doesn’t really feel like making them as much as they want to be able to *say* they make them. Unfortunately.

I’ve seen, watched and reviewed many many vehicles over the years from tabloids, advertisements, television and nowadays from internet including RUclips, but, you’re the very first tester/reviewer in the last 35 years (Top Gear UK from the early 80s to 1992 tested every type of vehicle not just performance) who’s actually showing and explaining underneath the vehicle and its components, interiors and all types of its driving mannerisms.. I applaud your unbiased real world reviews, great to watch someone who understands what really needs to shown...
I am current owner of 2019 Accord Sport 2.0t 6mt. From my experience, this review is the most accurate and honest. I can easily find out what he is trying to tell us in this review. Even with somewhat negative review of this vehicle, this review made me become huge fan of this guy. Here is what I think about 10th gen accord 2.0t 6mt. He nailed down all essential pros and cons about this car. Engine has great torque in low end, but power dies way too soon before 5k rpm. For having sudden surge of torque at low end, traction is slaughtered got the point why electronic stability control holds down on unicorns wings. Clutch engagement point is at top 5% of clutch travel. Shifter is my favorite. Honda's worst work ever. I had to mod my car, I had to... make myself to like this car and keep for at least couple years. Just 4 mods made me like this car again. Ktuner, Acuity Stage 2 shifter mod (best mod that all accord 10th gen 6mt owner do!!!), Borla Exhaust, and H & R lowering springs. All above mods cost me $2,600 + Labor ($0 for me cus I did all mod at my condo). 10AT is the way go to for this car.
Another lost opportunity for Honda not making this Accord as a "4 door coupe". Just look at the body shape, especially at the back... This car should have a lift-back!!!
Maybe because silly Americans like coupe styled sedans, but hate hatchbacks/liftbacks. So you get booted cars that look like liftbacks, more than some actual liftbacks
@@ZZZRaven65 You may need to fly to Serbia or Croatia - there are some that are still on the road lol. Last time I saw one was in Austrian Alps with Croatian plates lol... it handled alps like nobody's business :)
Our 2017 Civic EX has major infotainment problems that seem to be endemic to the model. I don’t think Honda put enough memory into the system that runs their home brew OS, and it locks up all the time. Their system glitches out, and it’s really bad because they tied every control into the infotainment system. Honda refuses to fix it, has no apparent interest in fixing it. The car also rattles something fierce. Never again, no more Honda products for us. Honda has destroyed their reputation in this last generation of cars.

In this condition, the Edmunds TMV Calculator valued the Accord at $23,815 based on a private-party sale. That works out to 22.8% depreciation, which is slightly worse than the fleet average of 22% average. With the new Camry TRD giving people the ability to get thr by cheaper, thatd be my bet. Honda quality isn't what it was, and I'd much rather a v6 over a turbo 4. Yea, manual, blah blah blah, it's a daily.. I don't really care

I’ve watched a million car reviews and as a 10th generation Accord owner I can say without equivocation that this is far and away the most in-depth & honest review of this car. 2019 EX-L 1.5 is an amazing every day cruiser.
@@earlsweat9727 Haha! I'm a woman but I understand my name doesn't show up so I dont hold it against you. To answer your question I got lucky and was able to get one of the last regular 4cy NA V-Tec. I didn't want turbo for the same reason. Had to special order the car though. While it may not have the upfront torque the turbos have it's still an incredibly fun car to drive and will last a long time. Absolutely love the car! =)
21:05 Just to be clear, the resell of the 6MT Accord on the private market isn't great. The book values are generally just based on overall resale of the model, but because no one is actually looking to buy an Accord w/ a MT, if you try to sell it on your own, it'll usually just sit there while you try and find that very unique buyer.
Though this is true in the 3-5 year window, they outperform the autos as they age beyond that because the rarity. This was at least true with the last two generations.

Honestly, I’m not too sure, Ryan. I’ve heard that sentiment circled around online, but I haven’t personally had issues with them, and of the people I know that do own 3.6L-based GM vehicles, most haven’t had any engine related issues either! What seems to be the case is that with continued, regular maintenance, and consistent, civilized driving, they’re quite decent. Let them sit around or lapse on the maintenance a bit, and then I start hearing of the odd issue or two. On the flip side, the numbers are very similar between the 3600 and the J35, but GM’s engine really digs into its torque sooner than the Honda, and really gets up and going sooner too! In their stock form, the updated 3.6 engines in newer GM vehicles have a higher base output, though I imagine both have roughly the same overall potential. In comparable cars, like the Malibu and Accord, I did notice that the Honda engine was smoother overall, but the small gains on performance with the GM engine, and the slightly nicer off-beat sound really sold me on it. Fuel economy in real-world driving is about the same too, so it really is a tossup imho
I love how the first thing he notes is the dual-screen, I actually like having a second screen on the top. Occasionally when I'm driving on the highway I'll just leave the bike lane camera on to see the lane next to me in the outside or mid lane. Not everyone is a fan of I guess.
Same here, I love the dual screen and lane watch on my 9th gen v6. I can’t stand the stupid glued on tablet look. Irritates the heck out of me. Got a 10 th gen loaner while servicing, couldn’t take it back fast enough to get my car back.
If they're hardly going to sell any sticks , why not put a real shifter in it. Don't put it in a tub of yogurt, the only people buying the stick are car guys
So many people buy online now or have never even driven a stick when they buy this car. If this is all you know you won't be disappointed. Not until you drive an old Honda.
Older Hondas - and older cars in general - used shift linkages to change gears rather than shift cables. Almost all new cars use shift cables and I can’t think of a single one I’ve driven that feels half as good as my Integra’s linkage-type setup.
@@drivedb7 The BRZ/FRS/Toyota 86 is almost as good. The Cayman Boxster manuals were very good also. The Integra was a high mark. The RSX box was close with shorter throws and a very mechanical feel.
I'm so happy they come with the optional 6 speed manual. Lots of Honda guys love older Hondas because of how they feel, how they react, how they are driver's cars. This would be a great daily driver for a Honda enthusiast.

I am keeping my eye out for a 2.0 6 speed accord for future replacement of my 2007 Accord SE manual. I only have 208,000 miles, so maybe when I hit 275,000 miles I will trade up.
Watch out for the norm comments as they can be thrown out the window. GM lover for some reason as has tried to pass Buick suv as being better than such as CX9. And yes Norm we also drive them .
Thank you so much for reviewing the Accord, finally! I honestly think this is the best Accord to date, it's not a "Sports car" it's a sporty cruiser. You can do amazing things if you go aftermarket (specially on the 6MT) but that can be said for any other car. I bought mine exactly one year ago today. I'll keep it for years and years.
What do you think about getting the valves cleaned every so often in this car since its direct injected, Im guessing if you don't do it you will start to have serious problems as the engine gets high mileage??
@@living4christ Actually don't know that many cases from owners who haved to have the valves cleaned, Honda is better than VW when it comes to carbon build up. I'm at 17K and haven't had any issues so far, it's been a great car.
I love my Accord, at first I hated it when I saw it at release but due to an injury I had to finally move from manual to automatic. Checked it out and its quick and comfortable. I really love the elegance of the car in general. I got the 2.0t Sport with the 10 speed and honestly you get a lot of car for the price.

The V6 6mt Accord was pure perfection. Simple car that was just an absolute sleeper... Saw a video of a guy in a 6mt coupe almost beating a 5.0 mustang in a highway race. If they dropped a J series in the new gen Accord I would buy it on the spot.
In fairness, the back-end treatment on the previous Accord was perfection. They could only go down from there. I'm not a Honda fan, and I marvel at them every time I'm behind one in traffic.
This is a really good car but number 2 in the class for me after the Mazda 6 .I like good handling car and i think the Mazda 6 is the best handling car in this segment and i think car and Driver motortrend and savagegeese agree. Btw. Cross balance Mazda 6 signature :51.09% Toyota Camry: 52.91% Honda accord 2.0t sport:53.29% Can't go wrong with this Three cars is this segment.
I work at a Honda dealership and personally I think the accord is great sedan with great driving dynamics and some of the cleanest lines for a mass-market vehicle(slim and long vs squared, wide and fat... giggity) But unfortunately crossovers, SUVs and trucks are dominating the market. It often gets overlooked.

been waiting a long time for your review of the new accord. Honda should make a type R Accord with magnetic dampened shocks, and the LSD from the civic type R.. I want to do a Hondata tune on mine but like you said it is constantly using stability control from all the torque. Great review as usual!
That would be true with almost all modern top trim mid-sized family sedans and CUVs. Just look at the features, technology and interior designs from any non luxury car from the the early and mid 00s...
(Gasp) as I say all the time and I will continue to say the answer will always be Honda. Honda is the star mark and continuance of automotive greatness.
2018 Sport 10sp 2.0 owner and I love my car. What he does not mention is the great gas mileage for a large car. Ave 28 MPG and get 33-35 on longer highway trips going well over the speed limit. The 10sp is too good to mess with a stick especially in a not really a sports car sedan. Only con is it sits low and view over the hood is not typical Honda feel. Can’t beat this car for the money.
Someone told you there is more overhead on the 1.5l motor? Lmfao. You can make 350 whp out of the 2.0 with just a tune. You can't do anything close to that with the 1.5l. So that's basically a lie
I always loved Honda but over the time I learned to move on. Current s2000 will be my last Honda. I feel like Honda n Toyota is boring compared to dare I say American cars. I am going freedom v8 next for my fun car and looking forward to it
Don't put a SPORT badges on if you're not going to make it Sportier...at least offer a sport inspired suspension for consumers. The manual is a good option for people to feel more engaged.
Pete Quinones I feel you. Honda is relying on low profile tires, spring tuning, 6MT and sport trim. It is a passenger car and not a sports car of course. Its not a M5. But I think Honda wants people to throw money at the Acura line for sports-luxury. To a degree I understand it. They are not a low volume niche car-maker. Honda likes big volume sales.
oldtwins na I think the K24 is a great engine in many ways but people do like waking them up with turbos because today people expect more power, closer to 300-400hp. Honda has been mastering V6's for many years and they are sweet though.
A Honda Accord that is every bit as big, on the outside, as my 2001 Lincoln Town Car! Of course, on the inside it's much smaller. Yeah, it's big for an Accord, but not comparable to the Lincoln. Modern safety standards make the difference. Still, it's just amazing just how big 'small' cars have gotten.
I have a 2019 Accord Sport 2.0T with the 10 Speed. Its an awesome car. I believe Honda tried to compete with the Audi A4 with this, that's what the rumor was at least. Tire noise on MXM4's isn't the best, but thats my only complaint.

I feel like my 2019 Accord Hybrid falls into the best option for this car. 212HP falls right in-between both motors. It has a NA 2.0L Port injected engine so the reliability is (in theory at least) higher, aside from changing the battery pack after 10 years. It also uses direct drive electric motors to move the car, no transmission. And my real world fuel economy is 46mpg in full mixed driving. It should be the Accord more people buy/talk about but it isn't.
I was between the hybrid and Touring 2.0, the hybrid would have been the smarter buy because my commute is bad but I went with the 2.0. I really feel both cars are awesome and I wish I could own one of each. 46mpg is awesome! I'm only getting 24mpg in the 2.0 because of the commute.
Usama Ahmad I have a 2016 Touring that gets 24mpg at best, and I hopped in my dad's 2017 Hybrid Ex and drove around the city for a weekend and had buyers remorse lol. I love having power when I need it but holy heck is the Hybrid a quiet and smooth drive!!
I love your videos but the 'in the shoppe' segment is about 10.7% to 20.13% too technical for me. Maybe you could do a video explaining what some of these terms you reference mean? Control arms, aluminium knuckles... Sounds like you're talking about prime Tyson?
The manual transmission needs an LSD and one of my custom gear sets for this transmission that gives it a close-ratio 3-4-5-6 gears. Additionally, there's the option to use the 4.111 final drive from the FK8. For more information, check out my facebook page: facebook.com/BenseBuilt
I completely agree. Honda's customer service sucks and my family and I have had horrible experiences....but we bought 3 more new ones....it's a problem for sure.
If you want a rigid sporty car that you want to drive fast, get a sport car... and take it to a race track. Maybe Honda was on to something with that trac control: it's there to keep you in control and keep you safe from driving like an idiot on the public streets. It's a sedan. It's one of the more supple sedans out there, and I've missed that pillowy feeling in modern cars. My criticism is that you went in seeing a manual transmission and expected a Lotus experience. You even said it wasn't a sports car, yet you felt yearning for a stiffer ride. Learn to temper your expectations.
A lot of modern manual transmission cars have rev hang. Yes, it makes it hard to drive smooth but it’s not too bad. Usually a good tune will take it away.
And it's the rev hang from drive by wire throttles that completely make me hate new manual transmission cars. They all seem to do it, from most manufacturers. I personally love my 15 accord v6 and don't have any issues with the things they mentioned in this video, but I do wish I could shift mine... (No paddles) the new car has my attention but it's not so much of a game changer that I'd upgrade. I don't need a faster car (mine already hauls ass) and I love vtec in the v6. Sounds so good. Someday... I'll have to upgrade because I drive so damn much

Love his reviews, but disagree with what he said when talking about the 2.0L turbo when he brought up the Civic Type R and Acura RDX. The Civic Type R is of course faster and the sports car of this trio, but the Accord is much faster than the RDX. He said it didn't feel as quick, but that is incorrect. My parents have a new RDX and I have an Accord 2.0L 10 speed.
Touch screens and glare! Why would they have the screen titled back it's just asking for glare issues, How to either kill a conversation or sound like a snob, use jargon. Nvh LSD, eba, dbd, m...blah blah blah. I know I'm being blunt, but hear me out, are you making these videos to preach to the converted, in which case what's the point, they probably know everything your talking about already. If you don't know who your audience is, and being a very public forum, you don't, rule #1 In public speaking 'Don't use Jargon' (unless of course you are a politician then yes use it a lot because the last thing you want is for anyone to realize what you're actually saying) never assume your audience knows what you do. The whole idea of video blogging is to inform those who don't know right? If I'm talking to a mechanic and I say "limited slip dif' instead of LSD I really don't think he'll care, but you start with LSD, ebd, tsc, racc, and the numerous other abbreviations in the motoring world with someone who wants to know is this a great car, but aren't car savy, then as a communicator you've just failed.
I respect your analysis but I was surprised on your opinion of the manual transmission. It was the complete opposite of what I have experienced in regards to the shifting. I traded my 17 Civic Si for this Accord 2.0T. The shifter in the Civic Si was the most un-Honda-like manual I have ever owned. My Honda history goes back to 1986 when I got my license and purchased an 85 CRX. Since then, its been mostly Hondas including a brand new S2000. The 17 Si shifter was notchy, imprecise and not smooth at all. When I drove the Accord, the shifter immediately stood out to me as if I were back in the glory days of 80;s, 90's and early 2000's Honda. Meaning, the shifter was perfect. The rest of the car is brilliant and I don't miss the Si at all. All the Accord needs is a thicker rear sway bar to make it just right for spirited street driving. I like the way the engine makes power compared to the Si's 1.5T. Maybe I am getting old and more mellow but this Accord is a fun, capable machine that can haul ass and the family. For all those thinking buying this Accord, please get the manual and raise the take rate statistics. Honda needs to continue with their manuals. This manual is very very good. Sorry Mark but I respectfully disagree. BTW, my shifter was loose as well when I took delivery.

And I happen to LOVE my dual screen which enables me to see what’s in my blind spot as I always drive with my passenger side camera on. My old girl is a little bit worn, but, as long as I keep fresh tires on her and keep the oil changed, she goes! Maybe before I hit 200,000 miles there’ll be a new Accord that I’ll be interested in…

Hello everyone - I'm Misha, the owner of this Accord. There are many questions in the comments why I went with another Honda product. I have owned Honda and Acura products for a very long time. I've also introduced many friends and members of my family to Honda/Acura family of cars and SUVs. I've owned everything from 1994 Accord to 2003 CL Type S 6MT to the latest from Acura and Honda. I did look outside of Honda line of cars when I started shopping and everything in this price range was a massive let down. My car before the lemon TLX was a 2016 Accord Sport 2.4L 6MT. Best car I ever owned, hands down. I made a huge mistake and traded it for the TLX because I wanted a V6 and SH-AWD. Car turned out to be garbage. I lost a lot of time, money and nerves with that car. I will always miss that 2016 Accord. I wasn't going to leave Honda family because of one bad apple. I wanted to give Honda another chance and bought another Accord. So far this car has been great and I love driving it every day. PS. Thanks Mark and Jack for letting me hang out with you guys during filming!

When I bought my civic I originally wanted the accord sport with a 6 speed or an SI sedan. The sales guy said those cars (6MT accord sport) are rare and hardly anyone request them. I was then told that Honda sadly quick making the 6 speed and my only option was a CVT. I ended up buying a a 2020 civic 6MT and I quite enjoy it. My first choice was the Ridgeline but it was out of my price range.

So many reasons to buy the new Accord but the one reason I'm not getting one is the rear fast back design. Waiting on the 11th generation .
No mention of the power band? My biggest issue with most turbos are the initial lag and stops pulling after 4,500 rpm. NA V6’s keep pulling in the upper revs but lack the torque of turbos. I suppose you have to give something up for daily drivers unless you want to pay premium money for a more expensive car. This Accord is nice, appreciate the remarks on cable linked feel of this manual, I really wanted to hear that it felt as good as the S2000 but I’m grateful that Honda is offering this option.

How do you feel about the oil dilution issues that have plagued the honda DI + turbo engines. Would you avoid buying them?
From all the posts I have read on this issue it happens more in colder climates with short runs. It happens while the engine is cold and the piston rings havent expanded to the piston wall. If you use a higher quality oil such as Mobil One and better its not as bad.
Change the oil often and maybe implement a oil catch can. Id stay away from having both the gdi turbo combo. Id prefer n/a with a 4cyl but a big on like the k24. I work on my own car so working space underhood is important to me too.

@@q-bert6454 they do happen just because its relatively knew design. With any gdi engine there will be some dilution no matter what as well as carbon build up on the valves. This is due to the fuel being pressurized into the combustion chamber and a minor amount slipping past the piston rings. Also why you should use quality oil. Honda has been working on that issue to keep it down.

This reliability issue mentioned in the beginning happens more often than most will admit. The perception of faultless reliability is not true but many blindly believe it. Some make excuses for any problems a Honda (or Toyota) may have while bashing many other makes for allegedly being unreliable. I am sure I will bashed for this post. A buddy of mine had an Accord that constantly had reliability troubles. He said it was the worst car he ever owned. A friend of mine has had 2 Toyotas over his lifetime of car ownership including a Camry he currently has. He has had problems with both and said he only bought them based on the perception/reputation of reliability. I have had 2 Toytotas j my family and neither were problem free.
Honda and Toyota gets lots of sales of based on this perception from people who know nothing about what they are buying or only care about a car as an appliance. So many other viable options are completely overlooked or dismissed without any consideration which is sad. Honda & Toyota are very good cars but so are 98% of all other cars today so don't ignore other options out there when buying a vehicle.

I think it’s worth noting the aftermarket support is decent. Most of the cons are easily fixed. For less than $1000 you can add all of the acuity shifter mods (short shift adapter, aluminum bushings, rocker) eibach springs and swaybar. Then you have your tight handling car with very nice shifter feel.
You shouldnt have to go aftermarket for things that shouldnt be done at the factory

I had a dark green 4 door manual ex 97 model. It was my first manual. My mother taught me how to drive it.

Same in Australia. It's like they're not even trying... some of the most appealing cars in their lineup (like the 3-door Civic with a manual, oof) are completely unavailable here. The Civic is CVT only unless you go all the way up to the Type R.
After Honda fell to 6th in the Japanese market they pretty much decided to become an American company. The Accord is much larger than it used to be, doesn't make much sense for most Europeans anymore. The Civic is bigger than the Accord was 10 years ago.
They cancelled it in North America too. The Accord you used to get in Europe was called Acura TSX over here, but they discontinued it in 2014..
A shame too, cause the vehicle they replaced it with (Acura TLX) isn't as good in my opinion since it's trying to replace two discontinued vehicles..

You’re like me. I’ve owned several BMW’s in the past and just got tired of the lack of reliability, maintenance costs, overall high cost of ownership. When I looked at the 2019 Honda Accord Sport 6sp and noticed simple little conveniences such as a spare tire, an oil dipstick, and a battery in the engine bay that doesn’t require registering, I was in heaven. Also, my Honda is just plain fun to drive!!

I've seen these go quickly on the used market. Either way, i hope this car sells well so that they have a reason to continue to improve the manual/sport option. Everyone complains about the lack of manuals on the internet, but when its time buy something in the real world, more often then not, they are walking out to automatic, or cvt equipped cr-v or something of that nature. Its put up or shut up time with cars like this that are quickly dying!

I’ve seen, watched and reviewed many many vehicles over the years from tabloids, advertisements, television and nowadays from internet including RUclips, but, you’re the very first tester/reviewer in the last 35 years (Top Gear UK from the early 80s to 1992 tested every type of vehicle not just performance) who’s actually showing and explaining underneath the vehicle and its components, interiors and all types of its driving mannerisms..

I am current owner of 2019 Accord Sport 2.0t 6mt. From my experience, this review is the most accurate and honest.
I can easily find out what he is trying to tell us in this review. Even with somewhat negative review of this vehicle, this review made me become huge fan of this guy.
Here is what I think about 10th gen accord 2.0t 6mt.
He nailed down all essential pros and cons about this car.
Engine has great torque in low end, but power dies way too soon before 5k rpm.
For having sudden surge of torque at low end, traction is slaughtered got the point why electronic stability control holds down on unicorns wings.
Clutch engagement point is at top 5% of clutch travel.
Shifter is my favorite. Honda's worst work ever.
I had to mod my car, I had to... make myself to like this car and keep for at least couple years.
Just 4 mods made me like this car again.
Ktuner, Acuity Stage 2 shifter mod (best mod that all accord 10th gen 6mt owner do!!!), Borla Exhaust, and H & R lowering springs.
All above mods cost me $2,600 + Labor ($0 for me cus I did all mod at my condo).
10AT is the way go to for this car.
Another lost opportunity for Honda not making this Accord as a "4 door coupe". Just look at the body shape, especially at the back... This car should have a lift-back!!!

Our 2017 Civic EX has major infotainment problems that seem to be endemic to the model. I don’t think Honda put enough memory into the system that runs their home brew OS, and it locks up all the time. Their system glitches out, and it’s really bad because they tied every control into the infotainment system. Honda refuses to fix it, has no apparent interest in fixing it. The car also rattles something fierce. Never again, no more Honda products for us. Honda has destroyed their reputation in this last generation of cars.

I’ve watched a million car reviews and as a 10th generation Accord owner I can say without equivocation that this is far and away the most in-depth & honest review of this car. 2019 EX-L 1.5 is an amazing every day cruiser.

@@earlsweat9727 Haha! I'm a woman but I understand my name doesn't show up so I dont hold it against you. To answer your question I got lucky and was able to get one of the last regular 4cy NA V-Tec. I didn't want turbo for the same reason. Had to special order the car though. While it may not have the upfront torque the turbos have it's still an incredibly fun car to drive and will last a long time. Absolutely love the car! =)
21:05 Just to be clear, the resell of the 6MT Accord on the private market isn't great. The book values are generally just based on overall resale of the model, but because no one is actually looking to buy an Accord w/ a MT, if you try to sell it on your own, it'll usually just sit there while you try and find that very unique buyer.
Though this is true in the 3-5 year window, they outperform the autos as they age beyond that because the rarity. This was at least true with the last two generations.

Honestly, I’m not too sure, Ryan. I’ve heard that sentiment circled around online, but I haven’t personally had issues with them, and of the people I know that do own 3.6L-based GM vehicles, most haven’t had any engine related issues either! What seems to be the case is that with continued, regular maintenance, and consistent, civilized driving, they’re quite decent. Let them sit around or lapse on the maintenance a bit, and then I start hearing of the odd issue or two.
On the flip side, the numbers are very similar between the 3600 and the J35, but GM’s engine really digs into its torque sooner than the Honda, and really gets up and going sooner too! In their stock form, the updated 3.6 engines in newer GM vehicles have a higher base output, though I imagine both have roughly the same overall potential. In comparable cars, like the Malibu and Accord, I did notice that the Honda engine was smoother overall, but the small gains on performance with the GM engine, and the slightly nicer off-beat sound really sold me on it. Fuel economy in real-world driving is about the same too, so it really is a tossup imho

I love how the first thing he notes is the dual-screen, I actually like having a second screen on the top. Occasionally when I'm driving on the highway I'll just leave the bike lane camera on to see the lane next to me in the outside or mid lane. Not everyone is a fan of I guess.

Same here, I love the dual screen and lane watch on my 9th gen v6. I can’t stand the stupid glued on tablet look. Irritates the heck out of me. Got a 10 th gen loaner while servicing, couldn’t take it back fast enough to get my car back.

If they're hardly going to sell any sticks , why not put a real shifter in it. Don't put it in a tub of yogurt, the only people buying the stick are car guys
So many people buy online now or have never even driven a stick when they buy this car. If this is all you know you won't be disappointed. Not until you drive an old Honda.
Older Hondas - and older cars in general - used shift linkages to change gears rather than shift cables. Almost all new cars use shift cables and I can’t think of a single one I’ve driven that feels half as good as my Integra’s linkage-type setup.
@@drivedb7 The BRZ/FRS/Toyota 86 is almost as good. The Cayman Boxster manuals were very good also. The Integra was a high mark. The RSX box was close with shorter throws and a very mechanical feel.
There are short shift kits that make the shifters feel really good. It’s a good transmission, just upgrade the shifter.
Can you upgrade the shifter bushings for a better feel?
I'm so happy they come with the optional 6 speed manual. Lots of Honda guys love older Hondas because of how they feel, how they react, how they are driver's cars. This would be a great daily driver for a Honda enthusiast.

I am keeping my eye out for a 2.0 6 speed accord for future replacement of my 2007 Accord SE manual. I only have 208,000 miles, so maybe when I hit 275,000 miles I will trade up.

Thank you so much for reviewing the Accord, finally! I honestly think this is the best Accord to date, it's not a "Sports car" it's a sporty cruiser. You can do amazing things if you go aftermarket (specially on the 6MT) but that can be said for any other car. I bought mine exactly one year ago today. I'll keep it for years and years.
What do you think about getting the valves cleaned every so often in this car since its direct injected, Im guessing if you don't do it you will start to have serious problems as the engine gets high mileage??
@@living4christ Actually don't know that many cases from owners who haved to have the valves cleaned, Honda is better than VW when it comes to carbon build up. I'm at 17K and haven't had any issues so far, it's been a great car.

I love my Accord, at first I hated it when I saw it at release but due to an injury I had to finally move from manual to automatic. Checked it out and its quick and comfortable. I really love the elegance of the car in general. I got the 2.0t Sport with the 10 speed and honestly you get a lot of car for the price.

@@normt5463 Earthdreams engines = oil dilution nightmare. Just make sure to do very regular oil changes and smell for gasoline when you check levels.
The V6 6mt Accord was pure perfection. Simple car that was just an absolute sleeper... Saw a video of a guy in a 6mt coupe almost beating a 5.0 mustang in a highway race. If they dropped a J series in the new gen Accord I would buy it on the spot.

I'm just not a fan of the looks of the new Accord. The previous version was a nicer looking car, though the interior of this car is better.
Same. I got the 1.5 Civic Touring instead because it looks so much better.
In fairness, the back-end treatment on the previous Accord was perfection. They could only go down from there. I'm not a Honda fan, and I marvel at them every time I'm behind one in traffic.
It looks like the box a Civic comes in. A shame.

I disagree, I liked the older 2016 Accord, but this is by far my favorite of any accord ever made. I think it's a fantastic looking car!
This is a really good car but number 2 in the class for me after the Mazda 6 .I like good handling car and i think the Mazda 6 is the best handling car in this segment and i think car and Driver motortrend and savagegeese agree.

I work at a Honda dealership and personally I think the accord is great sedan with great driving dynamics and some of the cleanest lines for a mass-market vehicle(slim and long vs squared, wide and fat... giggity)
But unfortunately crossovers, SUVs and trucks are dominating the market. It often gets overlooked.
I am holding out for the mid cycle on the Accord to see what they do with the front end. Looks pretty good on the red car shown in the video.

been waiting a long time for your review of the new accord. Honda should make a type R Accord with magnetic dampened shocks, and the LSD from the civic type R.. I want to do a Hondata tune on mine but like you said it is constantly using stability control from all the torque. Great review as usual!

Great car I looked into this with 6speed manul but went with the civic si becuase it had the lsd diff and the Adaptive dampers
2018 Sport 10sp 2.0 owner and I love my car. What he does not mention is the great gas mileage for a large car. Ave 28 MPG and get 33-35 on longer highway trips going well over the speed limit. The 10sp is too good to mess with a stick especially in a not really a sports car sedan. Only con is it sits low and view over the hood is not typical Honda feel. Can’t beat this car for the money.
Someone told you there is more overhead on the 1.5l motor? Lmfao. You can make 350 whp out of the 2.0 with just a tune. You can't do anything close to that with the 1.5l. So that's basically a lie
I always loved Honda but over the time I learned to move on. Current s2000 will be my last Honda. I feel like Honda n Toyota is boring compared to dare I say American cars. I am going freedom v8 next for my fun car and looking forward to it
I considered one of these but I saw lots of complaints about paint peeling issues. Keep an eye out for that. 👍🏻
Don't put a SPORT badges on if you're not going to make it Sportier...at least offer a sport inspired suspension for consumers. The manual is a good option for people to feel more engaged.
Pete Quinones I feel you. Honda is relying on low profile tires, spring tuning, 6MT and sport trim. It is a passenger car and not a sports car of course. Its not a M5. But I think Honda wants people to throw money at the Acura line for sports-luxury. To a degree I understand it. They are not a low volume niche car-maker. Honda likes big volume sales.
way better than the previous generation where the sport model was the 2.4 engine only that got blown away by the V6.
oldtwins na I think the K24 is a great engine in many ways but people do like waking them up with turbos because today people expect more power, closer to 300-400hp. Honda has been mastering V6's for many years and they are sweet though.
Pete Quinones The Sport model pulls something like .90 lateral G’s vs. the stock’s .84 IIRC. Keep in mind this is an Accord. 🤷♂️
A Honda Accord that is every bit as big, on the outside, as my 2001 Lincoln Town Car! Of course, on the inside it's much smaller. Yeah, it's big for an Accord, but not comparable to the Lincoln. Modern safety standards make the difference. Still, it's just amazing just how big 'small' cars have gotten.
A set of aftermarket Koni adjustable dampers and eibach springs will likely solve the soft suspension issue. Now I want one 😀

I have a 2019 Accord Sport 2.0T with the 10 Speed. Its an awesome car. I believe Honda tried to compete with the Audi A4 with this, that's what the rumor was at least. Tire noise on MXM4's isn't the best, but thats my only complaint.

Oh, man. It's a sick car, hu? You essentially have a detuned Type R engine. Stock, you should be under 6 seconds 0-60.
I feel like my 2019 Accord Hybrid falls into the best option for this car. 212HP falls right in-between both motors. It has a NA 2.0L Port injected engine so the reliability is (in theory at least) higher, aside from changing the battery pack after 10 years. It also uses direct drive electric motors to move the car, no transmission. And my real world fuel economy is 46mpg in full mixed driving. It should be the Accord more people buy/talk about but it isn't.
Wait until you have to make repairs. Hybrids increase servicing costs.

I was between the hybrid and Touring 2.0, the hybrid would have been the smarter buy because my commute is bad but I went with the 2.0. I really feel both cars are awesome and I wish I could own one of each. 46mpg is awesome! I'm only getting 24mpg in the 2.0 because of the commute.
Usama Ahmad I have a 2016 Touring that gets 24mpg at best, and I hopped in my dad's 2017 Hybrid Ex and drove around the city for a weekend and had buyers remorse lol. I love having power when I need it but holy heck is the Hybrid a quiet and smooth drive!!

I love your videos but the 'in the shoppe' segment is about 10.7% to 20.13% too technical for me. Maybe you could do a video explaining what some of these terms you reference mean? Control arms, aluminium knuckles... Sounds like you're talking about prime Tyson?
The manual transmission needs an LSD and one of my custom gear sets for this transmission that gives it a close-ratio 3-4-5-6 gears. Additionally, there's the option to use the 4.111 final drive from the FK8.

I completely agree. Honda's customer service sucks and my family and I have had horrible experiences....but we bought 3 more new ones....it's a problem for sure.
If you want a rigid sporty car that you want to drive fast, get a sport car... and take it to a race track. Maybe Honda was on to something with that trac control: it's there to keep you in control and keep you safe from driving like an idiot on the public streets.
It's a sedan. It's one of the more supple sedans out there, and I've missed that pillowy feeling in modern cars.
My criticism is that you went in seeing a manual transmission and expected a Lotus experience. You even said it wasn't a sports car, yet you felt yearning for a stiffer ride. Learn to temper your expectations.

A lot of modern manual transmission cars have rev hang. Yes, it makes it hard to drive smooth but it’s not too bad. Usually a good tune will take it away.
And it's the rev hang from drive by wire throttles that completely make me hate new manual transmission cars. They all seem to do it, from most manufacturers. I personally love my 15 accord v6 and don't have any issues with the things they mentioned in this video, but I do wish I could shift mine... (No paddles) the new car has my attention but it's not so much of a game changer that I'd upgrade. I don't need a faster car (mine already hauls ass) and I love vtec in the v6. Sounds so good. Someday... I'll have to upgrade because I drive so damn much

Love his reviews, but disagree with what he said when talking about the 2.0L turbo when he brought up the Civic Type R and Acura RDX. The Civic Type R is of course faster and the sports car of this trio, but the Accord is much faster than the RDX. He said it didn't feel as quick, but that is incorrect. My parents have a new RDX and I have an Accord 2.0L 10 speed.
So your car has four more gears than the test car - that might make it faster, automatic or not.

Honda, you did everything right, and yet you made one fatal mistake. You put a CVT in it.
I respect your analysis but I was surprised on your opinion of the manual transmission. It was the complete opposite of what I have experienced in regards to the shifting. I traded my 17 Civic Si for this Accord 2.0T. The shifter in the Civic Si was the most un-Honda-like manual I have ever owned. My Honda history goes back to 1986 when I got my license and purchased an 85 CRX. Since then, its been mostly Hondas including a brand new S2000. The 17 Si shifter was notchy, imprecise and not smooth at all. When I drove the Accord, the shifter immediately stood out to me as if I were back in the glory days of 80;s, 90's and early 2000's Honda. Meaning, the shifter was perfect. The rest of the car is brilliant and I don't miss the Si at all. All the Accord needs is a thicker rear sway bar to make it just right for spirited street driving. I like the way the engine makes power compared to the Si's 1.5T. Maybe I am getting old and more mellow but this Accord is a fun, capable machine that can haul ass and the family. For all those thinking buying this Accord, please get the manual and raise the take rate statistics. Honda needs to continue with their manuals. This manual is very very good. Sorry Mark but I respectfully disagree. BTW, my shifter was loose as well when I took delivery.

I’m on my fourth Accord. I just discovered this channel tonight and I’m glad I did. Very thorough, very educational, unbiased review as well as a well-edited presentation. Kudos! You got a new subscriber! 👊🏾 That being said, until Honda gives us a real sporty Accord, I’m content driving my 2013 EXL-V6 Coupe (with 110,000+ miles). And I happen to LOVE my dual screen which enables me to see what’s in my blind spot as I always drive with my passenger side camera on. My old girl is a little bit worn, but, as long as I keep fresh tires on her and keep the oil changed, she goes! Maybe before I hit 200,000 miles there’ll be a new Accord that I’ll be interested in…
