Been saying that for years. Even more so today. Even in the 1980's when 1/2 of non-american cars were stick, my Uncle's car was stolen. They made it 3 miles away before destroying the transmission. Instead of a total loss, the insurance company only had to replace the transmission. In those days, $10K for the car vs 1K for the transmission. Orion exactly. That’s why I don’t understand when people comment “oh having a manual car is the best anti-theft device” as if there aren’t many people who know how to drive a manual, and better yet what if the car thief knows how to drive manual lol
The $4500 doesn't just get you the bigger engine. It also gives you 3 way heated seats, satellite radio, proximity keyless entry, auto walk away lock, blindspot monitoring, rear cross traffic alerts with pedestrian detection, sunroof and on automatic, gives you a 10 speed auto, FAR superior to the CVT. I would like to say a year after this video was made, that my 2019 Accord Sport...the exact twin to this 2020 was the best Honda purchase I've made to date and I've had alot of Honda's. When I first saw the new body type, I was like Nope! Hard pass. But eventually came around. I first test drove the 1.5 after waiting months for a manual to come in to any dealership. The salesman was of course nervous with a female test driving a stick, but I quickly put him at ease. After the test drive, I said..let's try the 2.0. Took him 30 mins to find (i think someone was hiding it lol) and a year later, I'm still in love with this car! Only other 6 sp MT I loved equally was the 08 Altima CP 3.5 I had and only reason why I opted for it was because I couldn't find an Blue Accord CP in Manual back then. Only thing I do wish for is the signal lights on the sideview mirrors like on the EX and Touring Version.
"nobody should ever drive this in eco mode." proceeds to drive in eco mode. hahaha also, there's a safety latch that wont let you put a manual in reverse from fifth gear. so you can stop stressing about it. :)

These are the only problems I have with the car. Which can be fixed with better flywheel and clutch, better differential. 0-60 is 5.7-5.8 seconds, not 5.5. It is the best bang for your buck car that fits people over 6 foot. I am 6’ 4” and love the car. $30,000 Out the door with a lifetime power train warranty. And if you want more power... grab Hondata’s stage 2 tuner for $700 and you’ll have 290-300 HP and 350-370 tq.

I will be testing this accord and see if i will get rid of my jetta. One thing that i don't like about this one are the taillights but i think with some vinyl wrap i can fix it. I love the removal of the dual screens and random buttons. this new dash is simple and clean. disappointing that everyone is complaining about the shift know getting loose. for 26k that's frustrating.

You will love your accord sport with the 10 speed automatic. I have a 2020 SI sedan and my friend has the accord sport and they are both very fun to drive.
Agreed, these cars have a reverse lock out that engages around 8 to 15mph. Highly unlikely that someone will be in 5th gear before the reverse lockout engages.
10:20 Also, on the main screen, there's an option under, I believe, Settings --> System --> Instrument Cluster (something like that, I don't remember offhand), where you can check a box to have the tach on all the time. That way, even if you have the range/fuel or something else showing, the tach will still be on behind it. I find that super-useful. I have the tach on all the time, and have the range/fuel info on.
Thanks for the nice review. I didn't know Honda Accord still comes manual in 2020, just found that out because of this video😂 I really want to get one.
You get a lot more for your extra $4500 on the 2.0 versus the 1.5 then just the bigger engine. Do you also get heated seats, sunroof, a better stereo and infotainment system., a power driver’s seat and keyless start. In essence, the 2.0 sport is based on the EX trim while the 1.5 sport is based on the LX trim.
I was on a Honda lot here in Florida last week and I looked at 20 accords not one was manual gearbox. I couldn’t believe they didn’t at least have one on there lot.
Ha! Not quite that tall. 6'6. The extra 3 may be an issue. The good thing about car is the ability to lower seat, pulling out steering wheel so it doesnt effect knees and the lumbar support.
Our(Edmund's)2018 Honda Accord EX-L stickered for $30,865, including destination. Over the course of a year, we added 13,302 miles to our odometer. In this condition, the Edmunds TMV Calculator valued the Accord at $23,815 based on a private-party sale. That works out to 22.8% depreciation, which is slightly worse than the fleet average of 22% average. The depreciation level is even worse when you consider that the majority of our cars pass the 20,000-mile mark. Edmund's longterm Accord
Curious, why do you advise against using the Eco feature? Also, FYI, Honda will not be making a manual Accord after 2020. I got one of the last ones left in early August. So happy I was able to. This is my 5th Accord since 1984. Very sporty, super fun to drive, beautiful.
80's Boombox Collector that's an opinion. The GTR is sportier than the nsx, the 350 or 370 is more powerful than the s2000, and the accord doesn't even compare to the all wheel drive maxima. Those are kind of facts
@@ChuckTay23 The Accord is in the Altima's class, not the Maxima's. The 350Z is much heavier than a S2K. Nobody is going to cross-shop a heavy V6 coupe with a tiny 4-cyl convertible. And where is your proof that a GTR is sportier than an NSX?
I have the crosstour v6 I was thinking about trading it for the accord but it's a 2013 and I feel like I'd be downgrading! Just gonna hold on to my crosstour that's alot of money to get less car
I bought my V6 sedan for the extra power. Coming from a 2007 5 speed sedan, I knew I’d enjoy the extra power. But In the end, it is the refinement of the V6 is what I appreciate the most. It feels like a different class of car. It’s such a shame that they never made the 9th gen Sedan with a V6 and a Manual.
FYI the seat bolstering isn't real leather, it's vinyl. You only get leather on the EX-L and Touring trim. It's still nice, I'm curious to see how it holds up over the years.
You chirped the tires in 3rd and 4th gear because you still had the accelerator down when you released the clutch to shift, so the RPMs jumped up, then you let off the clutch quickly, so the tires chirped a bit. ;) This car definitely has some rev hang, so you have to let off the accelerator almost BEFORE you press the clutch!
9:15 You actually cannot shift from 5th to Reverse, at least if the car is moving more than 5 MPH. There's a lockout that prevents you from moving the shifter that far to the right if the car is going more than 5 MPH. You can try it out... best way is to face downhill. Let off the brake, then move the shifter all the way right and back to the center, back and forth. Once you get up to 5 MPH, you won't be able to move the shifter far enough to the right to be able to get to Reverse; you'll only be able to get to 5th and 6th. I was a little concerned about that when I first got my 2014 Accord EX 6MT, but quickly discovered that lockout, which is the same in the 2018 that I have now.
Gpah own one of these its crazy honestly no comparison to his sport trim 2017 honda accord. the 2020 2.0t is a monster for a sport sedan many safety features if you own a mustang from the late 2000s dont pull up to the light with that honda
does accord also affected by oil dillution problem in honda's engine? or only the CR-V. honda accord 2.0T 6spd manual may ultimate dream car :D someday you'll be mine.
kIkOmAnStEr 81 umm aren’t you just repeating what I said? If you read another comment I made bout the headlights as well. I’m just noting the errors in the video. P.S. Be advised I’m not complaining bout the car. FYI I have a Sport model too.
I couldn't get that colour in a 6spd. That's the car I would have bought but Canada. So dumb, but regardless. This car is awesome. So much fun and will fly under the Civic radar.
I wanted the Blue one with Manual transmission, but ended up with the one exactly like this, but 2019. And even that was hard to find. Took months. I only had the choice of 1.5 MT in White or 2.0 MT in Silver. I guess cuz I live in California and MT are definitely NOT in demand here
you know i've gone full boomer when I want to own this car one day. Wish it had the 3.0 v6 though. Not a huge fan of turbos as they give up before any Honda engine does.
For manual you don't grab and push hard. Just tap with a few fingers and slightly push towards and backwards. It will guide by itself to related number of gear. No problem to grab but with small amount of force.
I have a 2007 civic and in the manual it says that the reverse gear gets blocked as long the car is moving forward. I guess with new Hondas it is no different. So you really don’t need to worry about getting in reverse from fifth gear because it is physically impossible.
My review of the GLI ruclips.net/video/-oe4G8iLlmE/видео.html. Kind of different cars but I personally like the Accord Sport better. Bigger, more comfortable and faster. But GLI is better looking, nicer infotainment and better seats.

:) still a fast accord.
@@DriversOnly Oh, I agree!! Love mine... 2.0T Sport, identical to the one you reviewed, including color, except mine's a 2018.
He said he wasn't an experienced manual trans driver. A good driver could shift those gears with no lag.
#SaveTheManual
Great Review!
I agree, thanks!
Thanks, yea a few replied saying that as well.
Got the same shifter on my Civic Sport Touring and it will NOT go from 5th to R. Ever.
Wow this car is awesome 👍👍👍👍👍😀
Yes it is
Thanks for the great review. Quick question... does the manual save you more on fuel than the automatic? 🤔🤔 Inquiring minds would like to know.
The auto with a cvt will get you the best gas but it’s a cvt
You remembered Batman Day!!
for me this car is the best buy in this class, more reliable than mercedes or bmw
Damn the fact that you compare a Honda to a BMW or Mercedes just shows how good this car is
You are comparing apples and oranges lol.
Love your work man!
Spend a ton of money to make the car "pop". Driving > popping. Enjoyed the review! Subscribed
Welcome!
This car doesn't require a 6 foot rear wing to fly
I got mine in February its smooth a cruiser
Love the car and loved the video!
Gpah own one of these its crazy honestly no comparison to his sport trim 2017 honda accord. the 2020 2.0t is a monster for a sport sedan many safety features if you own a mustang from the late 2000s dont pull up to the light with that honda
The clean look of the sport trim Accord + manual, is exactly why I would want over the overstyled Camry… and this is from a Toyota fanboy
The low beams are LED... and I'm glad Honda did't give the back of the car more excitement... it all went to the Civic!
I know it still have that problem with the day time running light going out
larry zan just got my 2016 replaced
@@MrBargill Lol how much did you have to pay?
Honda followed your advice with the 2021 model by adding blacked mirrors, shark fin antenna & spoiler.
Almost the perfect manual accord!! I wish they would have kept the manual handbrake instead of the electronic one.
I'm scared that the turbo engine will have problems other than that great car
Is this manual accord a good car for driving Uber in NYC?
Probably not
While moving forward the gate to the reverse is locked closed. I tried to get into reverse and it is locked out while shifting from 3rd or 5th.
Watching this review in the U.K. So sad the Accord is no longer sold here. Great rue view.
Thanks Dan. Didn't know that, is there some other midsize sedan Honda is selling?
The North American Accord was never available in the UK.
The low beams in the headlights are LED, the brake lights as well as the rear parking lights are also LED.....
does accord also affected by oil dillution problem in honda's engine? or only the CR-V. honda accord 2.0T 6spd manual may ultimate dream car :D someday you'll be mine.
I'm curious about this also that's one of the thing's that have me on hold to buy one.
Video correction. FYI all Rear lights are LeD except reverse & turn blinkers. Seats are not leather but pleather.
kIkOmAnStEr 81 umm aren’t you just repeating what I said? If you read another comment I made bout the headlights as well. I’m just noting the errors in the video. P.S. Be advised I’m not complaining bout the car. FYI I have a Sport model too.
Jay Park seats have leather edges with cloth inside
That’s not leather, it’s leatherette. Check for yourself. It’s not difficult to distinguish.
I love accord sport 2.0😍
i just bought one because of this video!
Wow nice! Glad I can help. How do you like your Sport so far?
ruclips.net/video/3DkIQdG8g58/видео.html
I couldn't get that colour in a 6spd. That's the car I would have bought but Canada. So dumb, but regardless. This car is awesome. So much fun and will fly under the Civic radar.
I wanted the Blue one with Manual transmission, but ended up with the one exactly like this, but 2019. And even that was hard to find. Took months. I only had the choice of 1.5 MT in White or 2.0 MT in Silver. I guess cuz I live in California and MT are definitely NOT in demand here
@@kbsinsanewrld that's a drag that choices were limited for you. enjoy the car, it's going to be fantastic.
you know i've gone full boomer when I want to own this car one day. Wish it had the 3.0 v6 though. Not a huge fan of turbos as they give up before any Honda engine does.
This is great except winter I have 18 in winter tires for a older accord sport . I’m not sure they could be better
I just noticed if you put the dual accord exhaust together, you get the si stock exhaust 😂😂
For manual you don't grab and push hard. Just tap with a few fingers and slightly push towards and backwards. It will guide by itself to related number of gear. No problem to grab but with small amount of force.
I see from the food design and understand why there's hood flutter at highway speed. How bad is it though?
I have a 2007 civic and in the manual it says that the reverse gear gets blocked as long the car is moving forward. I guess with new Hondas it is no different. So you really don’t need to worry about getting in reverse from fifth gear because it is physically impossible.
Thanks for letting me know. Still scary to think about lol.
I heard Nissan Maxima will offer a Nismo trim with Manual transmission.
car channels need to layoff spouting so many opinions. the car looks great, some people will agree, some wont.
you didn't shift up to 6th gear ?
is there any protection to prevent money shift from 5th to Reverse ?
I learned stick on a 5 speed. 6 speeds are terrifying
Doesn't it have a reverse lock out? My 93 Corvette had a 6 speed but you had to pull up on a ring on the gear shift in order to put it in reverse.
Nope doesn't exist although there might be some kind of lock out if it senses the car is in forward motion or something...not sure didn't test it lol.
It should, my 2013 Civic Si has it.
Is this manual a good car to drive for Uber?
Thank you!
Hi, how does it compare to civic sedan sport 6-speed manual in terms of clutch, shift knob, transmission, and driving dynamics?
Which one do you recommend, Accord sport or GLI ???
My review of the GLI ruclips.net/video/-oe4G8iLlmE/видео.html. Kind of different cars but I personally like the Accord Sport better. Bigger, more comfortable and faster. But GLI is better looking, nicer infotainment and better seats.
No difference between the 2018, 2019, 2020 Accord. They all look exactly the same.
Jarrech yeah it’s usually like that, there’ll be a some mid cycle changes next year but most likely 2023/24 will be 11th gen
Duh it’s only the 3rd year of that body style.. they only do minor changes until they do a major model change and that’s about every 4 or 5 years..
You’re dumb as fuck.
It's like this for every other car too for the first few years of a new model. Wtf are you expecting lol
Car manufacturers cant entirely redesign a model every year or 2. That’s not possible and has never happened.
