Just traded in my 2014 Touring for a 2021, and I have to say... the accord once again goes above the intended segment and competes well with higher makers. This is truly an impressive car and the 2021 touring wheels get lots of comments. Great looking ride.

Story time brothers: My wife loves BMW(she has a pristine E39 M5 w/ only 52k miles on it). In 2018, her lease on a 2015 530i came up, but over the years we've just noticed you get less bang for your buck on German lower trim cars vs the midsizers from Honda, Toyota, Mazda, and Kia. So we went out to look at the then-new Camry and Accord. Driving is a large part of what she does daily being in medical equipment sales(especially these days), so the vehicle must be very comfortable, drives well, latest autonomous tech, quiet enough, etc. We first went to Toyota, where she liked the styling of the Camry XSE, but was let down by no Android Auto(at the time), and poor seat comfort. We then went to Honda where she fell in love with the Accord Touring(calling it a knock-off Audi A7🤣), but two things ruined it for her: The NFC badge etched into the fake wood as like fire to her eyes, and the wheels...the freaking wheels. I even offered to change them once we bought the car, but nope, she was not having it. So, back to BMW we went for another 5-Series lease. Interestingly, that vehicle did not have cooled seats, very little autonomous driver aides, no remote start, and no Android Auto. But short on time and liking the styling of the new 5-Series, she got another. Enter 11/6/2020: The lease being up on the BMW, we went back to Honda to check out the updates to the Accord, and viola, we actually bought it(not leased). (We also headed over to Kia to see if the K5 2.5T was available, but it was not). Over the 2018 we considered, this Touring certainly seems quieter, in addition to the other attributes that make the Accord so good. I believe its faster and more efficient than the 530i, and it doesn't drive all that much worse, despite being FWD. The steering is actually better(no surprise, being a Honda). We went with the Radiant Red Metallic and it just sets the car off so good with the new wheels. Overall, we are very impressed thus far.

I have the 2013 honda Accord touring with ~90k miles. It is such a solid car, I love it. Honestly, worse part about it is that it will never die and I won't be getting a new car for another decade or two 😜, I fully expect >250k.

I drove my first Accord 7th Gen for 13 years (brand new off the lot till 130k miles zero issues), traded it in on a 9th Gen Accord Sport CVT, and it has around 100k on it now. Looking to buy a 2021 Accord Touring 2.0t really soon. Cannot wait to get the updated 10th gen 2.0t.
I will say, I miss my 7th gen v6 Accord. And I am pretty sure it would have kept going all this time, with minor issues.

The 10th Gen Accord Touring 2.0L Turbo is high on that list if I do decide too eventually, it's sad they got rid of it for the 11th gen just to make the TLX more appealing but they're both great cars.

On my personal checklist the Accord earned first place followed by the Mazda and the Toyota. I think that same order would hold for 2021. I just bought the 2021 Sport SE and I’m not sure how I feel about that stop/start thing when you stop. I know I can shut it off and also not activate it by fully depressing the brake pedal, but doesn’t that kill your starter over time? Also, I grew up in the 90’s and was always told it takes more gas to shut your car off and start it back up then just let it idle. I’m sure the Honda team knew what they were doing when they did this but I just can’t see it being something good long term.

I have the ‘18 accord sport 2.0t. It’s a beast but wondering would there be some software update to allow WIRELESS apple CarPlay?! It would really speed up things instead of running wires and charging my new phone always. I don’t see much differences from the ‘18 besides the wireless CarPlay and wheels.

Can I ask why does the touring get the extra break lights but not the other models? But all of Canada models have them. That goes for the 2018-2020 accords in the US.

    • @shiftautomotive854
      @shiftautomotive854 3 года назад

because honda have a plant in Canada most of their cars are built out there so they get some extra stuff the US doesn’t get

@@Saturdayz_In_The_Fall at least it isn't as bad as what Kia did with their Telluride. Only putting LEDs headlights on the SX trim when it first got released when a lot of car makers had standard LEDs headlights. Now it's an option on the EX trim. It's extra money and not standard like how it is on the 19+ Pilot and Passport.
Honda do strange things at times but they're not that bad. At least they giving you Honda Sense as standard. One of the first manufacturers to do so. Even more Toyota!
Oh btw I just picked up the 20 Accord Touring and yes I love that extra brake light 😁. The Canadian version gets some extra cause of their climate. It's mostly cold do they get standard heated steering wheel and that extra brake light. Kinda sucks but hey they do pay more for their cars so.

I got the same color with ivory interior, it's noiiiice !
It actually leaves rubber on the pavement when you bone out.
I didn't even give it 100%. In sport mode,, depending on where in the power curve you give it the gasss, the turbo does lagg a bit, but no big deal.
It has many nooks n' cranies, so washing it can be tedious.

It's a tough call... They are definitely the top 2 in driving dynamics to me. I think the Mazda looks better and has more luxury, but the Honda has much better tech. It's really really close...

@@CarConfections Thank you very much for the reply. I watch a lot of car videos. Four years ago, I bought a 2017 V6 touring, black on black. I compared it to the fusion sport, high end camry and mazda 6 GT. I had to buy for reliability and all round balance, so the accord won. I still find myself obscessed with car videos.
