Your Vanda are beautiful. I have had some for 5 yrs with no flowers so am going to try Your Bloom Booster. I suspect mine don’t get enough sun but they are on my balcony which only gets sun for part of the year here on Gold Coast Australia. Thanks for sharing.
Hi! Loved the video! I had the same issue, healthy mature Vanda's that wouldn't bloom! Then I came across a video The Orchid Whisper she adds CAL MAG to her fertilizing regime and this keeps plants strong/healthy and they bloom for her all the time. So I tried it and VOILA it worked! I am sooo excited! My Vanda's are spiking!

I just watched the fertilizer video for your indoor self watering pots and that was great, 1/4 tsp per gallon of your 20-20-20 gives a concentration of 50ppm Phosphorous which is a safe concentration. If we do the same math for this video however using 1 tablespoon per gallon of a 9-45-15 bloom booster gives a whopping 30x45 = 1350 ppm Phosphorous. I am all in favor of using bloom boosters but never excessively. You should use it in the same concentration to your main fertilizer. So your main fertilizer is 20-20-20, this bloom booster is twice as strong already containing twice as much phosphorous and instead of adding 1/4 teaspoon you are adding 3 teaspoons so this works out extremely concentrated. I personally don't think one should use more than 250ppm phosphorous ever which would work out as 1/2 tsp per gallon. 1 Tbsp is too much. But I can see that the plants get rained on a lot and get flushed regularly and watered in between, you also saturate the roots by soaking them just like a sponge filling up all their water holding spaces with plain water first before applying fertilizer which means the plants suck in and store plain water till they are full and then top up with fertilized water wherever they can still store some. This prevents them taking in a majority of the fertilizer which is probably saving them from getting excessively burnt but it all seems a bit excessive. You can see from your hydroponically grown orchids that 50-100ppm of the macro nutrients which you are using is enough so to use a bloom booster that contains over 20 times more is just fertilizer flushed down the drain. Sorry if this comes across in the wrong way. I really am impressed with the precise way you have documented how much you use for anyone around the world to understand and copy and that your concentration is correct (for your indoor plants) and the balance of fertilizer gives a great ratio of all nutrients needed. Hardly any youtuber gets this right and the majority of video's online recommend to feed too little. It is true feeding too little is far safer than feeding too much but ideally you should feed the right amount, not too little and not too much but just right. Thank you for the great video's especially your fertilizing in self watering pots one and consider what I have said. You can adjust your outdoor concentration better. Fertilizer is really not that hard to understand. Like said if you are using 1/4 tsp/gallon of a 20-20-20, then 1/4 teapsoon of a 9-45-15 will give half the nitrogen and roughly double the phosphorous. You double it up, and you double the numbers and so on. I'm aware you are probably not as used to converting and working out the concentration of the nutrients you are adding as me but it helps to get a basic understanding that a 20-20-20 is exactly twice as strong as a 10-10-10 so using twice as much of a 10-10-10 gives the same concentration as using a 20-20-20. Then it helps to know that adding 1gram of a 20-20-20 to 10 liters of water gives 20ppm of each macro nutrient (yes the math is that simple). It just gets complicated converting the grams to teapsoons and the liters to gallons.

Hello🤗 i truly appreciate your comment, thank you for the explanation☺️ i fertilize my orchids using purified water, same as RO i guess and i water them first to avoid root burns. My orchids also get rained and in a hot/warm and windy environment. This is also how i fertilize my Outdoor orchids with 20-20-20 plus others, only my orchids indoors or in Self watering pots are fertilized in controlled amount😅 hope you can also check How i fertilize my Outdoor orchids in the separate video?☺️ i am also trying to modify how i fertilize my orchids, i also tried controlled realease fertilizer. Any insecticide that contains Imidacloprid 17% or above will help in eradicating thrips. Once eradicated, apply once in 6 weeks, when the weather is low humidity. Around December till March.

Hi ms che..napansin ko lng po karamihan sa mga buds mo ay nasunog...ganyan din sakin mam...minsan ung iba nasusunog yong dulo...kung minalas uong lahat na buds na malapit ng mamulaklak nasunog i mean nagdry..and i found out that it is cause by applying fertilizer most of the time.......minsan po kc di natin nasasadya natatamaan nila yong buds...un pagtinamaan sila lalo kpag matapang that result to burning..nmamatay..nanghihinayang ako...kya ng magexperiment ako dinako nagapply almost a month un mga buds ko wla ni isa ang nalagas o nasunog..sa tlga dpat ingatan ung matamaan sila...or ako po seldom ako nlng maglagay...awa ng Dios namumulaklak nmn sila maybe its beacause of their age..

Hi!🤗 I bought them from golden bloom orchids, purificacion orchids, cherry laureano, other sellers and local garden center. Most of these vandas are first time bloomers but one Vanda here had already bloomed 3 times.

Hi!🤗 depende sa insects din, kung thrips need yung insecticide para sa kanila, natry ko ascend. Other insects malathion para hindi masyadong toxic or pwede din home made insecticide.
