Thanks for sharing so much knowledge with us...I basically rescued a pair of vandas from bags at a big box store, and after watching your care videos and following your advice, they're not only thriving, but they've doubled in size in just a few months, and have tons of new roots growing. Your videos helped make it all possible!!

I was terrified of Vanda!! I’d inky seen them at the New York Botanical Garden and thought they were too fancy for a home grower. I bought my first Vanda in March and my experience, buy a blooming side plant! I now have two spikes. The orchid gets a daily soak and weekly foliar feed (it is bareroot) Having flower spikes so soon into ownership makes me feel very confident and excited to get another.

Hi Danni, thanks for your video. Here in Germany we are told that vandas can't live in bark, only hanging barefoot or in a vase. Means you have to water quite frequently. But I like travelling! But you show the opposite with the bark. I'd like to try out a type like bangkok sunset. Would you recommend large barc and orchitop? Thanks in advance!

I love your videos and all the tips and advice you so willingly share with us. I have 2 vanda in glass. The violet vanda has very little roots but glad to see it put out a spike. The other is an orange vanda with incredibly lots of roots but no spike. I put them both outside during summer and they seemed to love it esp the roots grew much faster than indoors. All I wish now that the orange vanda puts out some spikes.☺️☺️

I brought home my first vanda hybrid (ASCOCENDA THAI RUBY X VANDA BLACK BALL) after watching this video and I have to say that I definitely have to disagree with them not caring too much about humidity. Mine’s roots have been withering and browning, new tips going brown and dying, despite twice a day soaks in RODI water in a 45% humidity house. I set up a humidifier for it last night and I can already see the root tips breaking through the brown calloused areas again! Mine is kept hanging in a basket, obviously that lowers the humidity around the roots vs in a pot, but I wanted to weigh in on the general statement that they don’t care too much about humidity from my experience and with this hybrid!

Thank you for sharing this video. I just got a Vanda orchid and it's so gorgeous, I'm in love 🥰 This helps me out a lot and I do appreciate your knowledge so very much. I usually grow cattlyas but the Vanda is so unbelievably neat. I live in Central Florida Zone 9b and I think these will do ok in my climate. It's so humid here. Also, thank you so much for sharing this website with us called Repotme, I've never heard of them before but their pots are absolutely breathtaking, especially with the beautiful orchids inside. I'll have to check out their site and place an order soon. I mostly collect succulents, cactus, air plants and many different houseplant varieties, but never had any luck with orchids until I started growing cattlyas. You have a great channel! Love watching you go to work on those orchids 😉

Ps. they most likely won't bite but even in the off chance that it did they're not venomous and it would prob feel like an ant bite.

It has been dropping leaves consistently since December and no longer has much in the lines of roots. It is still growing leaves and had 7 keikis starting on it, I have 4 of them left now as the other dried out. It also looks as though it has new roots starting further up the stem. Can you do a video on how to care for keikis on a vanda when in the super small stages? As idk if it’s ok for them to get wet or not. I am soaking vanda in bucket for maybe 10 mins as it has not roots. But idk if it’s ok for the keikis to get wet as I lost 3 of them. One seems lose as I touched it and it felt unstable. They’re super small. Any help would be great.

The orchids that I grow in my bedroom are Phalaenopsis, Doritis, Doritaenopsis, Oncidium, and 1 Dendrobium kingianum. All of them do just fine under LED grow lights. I need some help knowing what to do with my poor Vanda. It’s about 3 years old and all the thin roots died, it only has a few very thick, hard roots. The stem is long. I was wondering if I can just cut the stem about 50% off? I wish I could send you a picture.

My Vanda arrived without roots, and there are no roots yet, I have had it for more than a year so I wonder if it will ever survive. I keep it in a kind of terrarium, a vase actually, with some spaghnum moss in order to keep it damp. The window is facing south, but with filtered light. Is there any hope?

I was told you can leave 20% water in the pot and change once weekly, not needing to remove the water from each water change.

Please tell me how to not kill my last orchid. I've killed as now 5 Vandas and after 6 months I decided to try cultivating a Vanda again. All the previous died because of Fusarium.
