  • Fanatec changed the sim racing world with the Clubsport pedals when they were first released. These were the first performance pedals available to sim racers at a reasonable price. Over the year Fanatec has made these pedals better with the V2 model and then the V3 model with each version seeing improvements.
    Now Fanatec has turned things upside down with the introduction of the inverted version of the V3 pedals. This set comes fully loaded with the extra damper kit installed and in addition to that has a drop down clutch and brake pedal like a real car.
    Shaun Cole of The Simpit takes these new pedals for a spin to see how they handle on the track, He covers their adjust ability as well as their construction.

    I think what some aren't getting here is Shaun talking about how Fanatec changed the game. First, most of us had plastic pedals. Fanatec introduced metal construction at a reasonable price, where most premium pedal manufacturers charged much, much more for their metal pedals. Now Fanatec brings inverted pedals at a reasonable price, certainly much cheaper than other inverted pedal sets. It's going to cost you as you move away from cheap stuff to equipment that should last a lifetime. Are you a casual user or are you ready to take your sim racing to the next level?

      John G. Hill T500 pedals can be inverted and cost much less. Also what I don't like about Fanatec, is their tendency to make false statements. E.g. they said on their homepage that these are "hydraulic pedals". This is not true. Didn't happen for the first time though.

Normally would never have bought them but the Fanatec Blak Friday deal put at them -40% sale, lowering the price from 600€ to 360€ which is finally a reasonable price for me. They're arriving in two days and I can't wait to have them replace my V2 pedals which I was actually very happy with.

    Seriously HE Pro pedals are miles better than the V3's, inverted or otherwise. If you're in Europe buying these instead of HE Pro's makes little sense. Until recently I had the regular V3's, and they we're great. Bought HE Pro's and the difference is measurable in the brake and throttle modulation control. I had an entirely different and improved experience with the Pro's brake and throttle fine control. Of course had I not upgraded I'd have no idea, and beforehand I had doubts whether I would find them better. As a user of both, I can tell you they are very much superior to the Fanatec pedals.
    Not knocking the standard V3's, at that price I think they're excellent. But the inverted puts them in competition with far better pedals, it's simply fact.

    • @floodo1
      @floodo1 7 лет назад

      Meanwhile, in the United States the v3 inverterd are $499 while the HE Pro are $760. The only competition for the v3 Inverted in the US are the v3 non-inverted (who else makes $600 or less pedals of this caliber in the US?).
      VERY interesting how the situation is so different on either side of the Atlantic!! Good info, thanks (-8

    • @SoulReaperJay1
      @SoulReaperJay1 7 лет назад +2

      The prices shown on the HE site have the 20% VAT in the price. Here in the US we don't pay that, HE Pro's can be had for about $590.

    • @floodo1
      @floodo1 7 лет назад

      Good point about VAT, forgot about that. 720 euro with 20% VAT is 600 euro without VAT which is 634 dollars currently. Clubsports have a base plate that HE and Proto Simtech do not have. When you add the plate to the PT-1's then they are 530$!
      Anyway, thanks for the info (-8

    Have the normal V3 for a couple months now. Only thing I wish they would add is an option to move the individual pedal assemblies.
    Moving the face plate also changes how much force needs to be applied since force is not being applied to the center anymore. Off center forces tends to increase wear as well...
    Had to cut those little spacers rings to move the brake pedal further out. Would have expected a proper solution for a "version 3" design. Other then that, pretty good stuff.
    EDIT: Forgot, one thing that pissed be off when taking them apart. Metric and stone age thread screws in the same product (with damper kit), WTF!?

  • @VladInc
    @VladInc 3 года назад

    Is it comfy for left foot braking? I.e. not too much offset, not too much body twist, enough spacing? Recommend for F1? It looks to me that they are a bit more spaced out than the non inverted V3. I'm looking for a set to offer a good left braking position, but also use as clutch drive from time to time. This also seems to have more travel than the non inverted V3 and slightly better quality. Should I order this? If so, should I still order the damper to mount it on the gas pedal? I read some people do that... or should I just mount the stiffer spring if I need more feel. Any educated opinion is welcome. Thank you

    I’m still running my T500rs with the original pedals. I haven’t really raced in my Obutto Ozone since GT6. I was too lazy to rearrange my Man Cave to play GT Sport. Now that GT7 is here for the next 5yrs or so, I am so out of “racing shape” LOL. I have the pedals mounted onto the pedal plate in the “GT” or inverted position. Inverting your pedals was all the rage 10yrs ago. But, now it seems like that cooled off and the majority of pedals are set in the “F1” orientation. I also used to have my brake pedal pretty stiff. Now that I’m 52, I don’t feel like having to really lay into it to get full braking. Same with the gas, I am finding myself pushing my leg to go full throttle rather than pivoting my ankle. I can’t recall if I’ve ever used the pedals in the down or F1 position. If I move the seat forward a click or two, then I’m too close to the pedals and I get soreness in my left ankle from resting my foot on the pedal. As for the brake pedal face, I’m using a custom made pedal face that spans the brake and clutch. I have zero internet in using a clutch. I tried it on my G25 and it was just nothing like driving a real clutch. So, I’m quite happy with sequential shifting.
    I can’t just simply flip the pedals around and press a couple of buttons. The pedals are oddly mounted to the Obutto pedal tray. I can’t find any inverted Vs regular pedal position videos to give me an idea of what to expect if I take my rig apart and flip them around.
    What are your thoughts on inverted Vs regular (or flat)?
    Thanks bud

    • @TheSimpit
      @TheSimpit  2 года назад

      Tbh, there really is no difference between inverted and flat orientation. It all comes down to your preference, what you like, and what feels good to you.

    It is expensive, but Fanatec made something use to be thousands of EU for hundreds. It cost much more than a low end padal, but the qulity can match those custmized extrem end products, which can cost you thousands of EU (you can even buy a real used car with that). Still a good job.

    - in the 2 areas of how they perform and price, how do these pedals compare to the Proto SimTech PT-1's and the HE Pro's pedals?

    • @SimRacingCorner
      @SimRacingCorner 7 лет назад +2

      HE Pro's are significantly better. The HE Pro's uses higher quality load cells for the pedals which makes a massive difference to the sensitivity of the control you have, it just feels more connected. It's something that can only be demonstrated by trying them.

    • @tomasartica4861
      @tomasartica4861 7 лет назад

      mingojingo Thanks for replying. So the only difference is the higher quality load cells on the HE Pro's? What is the price difference? Know the real differences between the Proto SimTech PT-1's and HE Pro's?

    • @SimRacingCorner
      @SimRacingCorner 7 лет назад +2

      There of course other differences such design choices and adjustability which you can see in many video reviews. The HE Pro's are certainly more visually authentic and I'd wager the electronics are more robust too. I mentioned the 'sensitivity of the control' as that is something I know from owning the HE Pro's and previous owner of Fanatec V3's, so it's comparison between the sets. And it's something you won't know without testing them. Just because both use load cells doesn't make their performance equal.
      Sorry I've never used the PT-1's so I couldn't comment. The V3's not not trash in anyway, they are very good. There's just better out there. And my point really is if you're pedal budget is this high (V3 inverted), you have other options, and indeed they are better options.

    They're a masterpiece of Sim racing enginuity and I'd consider them actually cheap for what they can do,but the rocker motors are only pc compatable. I only play Forza on Xbox. I can upgrade my current pedals to load cell and customize hydraulic braking if I wanted. That's too bad the rocker motors aren't compatable.

    Was the damper included previously? Now the price is $599 and the damper is sold separately for $79. I guess despite growth in the pandemic to bring costs down they decided to squeeze as much as possible out of everyone. I'd like to see an engineer sell on kickstarter a much cheaper version.

    If playing on PS4 with Clubsport V2 and inverted pedals connected to Clubsport base I have severely reduced Pedal Resolution. Is there a fix for that?

    Is there no instruction video on how to invert normal V3 pedals instead of paying € 240,00 more for inverted V3 pedals ?

    Hey Simpit! Shortcut for centimeters is cm, not cent. Cents are common for dollar denomination in USA.
    Which ones would you get if you would have to spend your own hard earned money - the GT ones or inverted? Doesnt really seem to be worth the extra buck to me... Its 350€ vs 600€.

    They look great but you have alot of flex in the base plate , how would these compare to the heusinkveld sim pedals sprint as they are very close in price I use a modded set of t3pa pro with load cell upgrade

    Is there much flex in them? 90kg is a lot of force on this construction. Can't see it too well because your rig flexes a lot. And are the pedals loud when released rapidly?
