Had a minor issue with one of the SRM adaptors, sent an email, Simon contacted me super quick even though he was out and about at Donnington Park to help sort it, the guy is an absolute legend
In my experience with Simon, he's a great guy with an even greater business. I have purchased much of my gear from him including several conversion kitts, QR's, and other accessories. He truly is an amazing person and a reliable guy that is constantly striving to improve the industry. A one man army. Glad you are giving his stuff a look.
In my opinion, this company is the single most important company in all of sim racing. Bought many products from them, always pleased with the results.
I say logitech all things considered, the g25 pretty much set all this in motion. It was such a bomb for the market and the value was insane. But they didn't continue with the push... Fanatec and other companies sure helped forcing them to make a DD at last. But it feels like DD only just recently became accessible enough to be for a wider market.
Back when I purchased my conversion for my podium hub he hadn’t quite gotten the firmware right for it but it just so happened that he was almost done with the final build so he made sure to update the firmware for my unit before shipping it out to me. Communication with Simon was great, and I’m so thankful for the fantastic work that he does!
Damn i wish i knew about this earlier! As someone who has a ton of wheel rims without buttons and everything I would have saved a lot of money!! Thanks Will!
Been buying stuff from SRM for more than 5 years ago. Even then his gear was top notch and created products at the time to solve the old Fanatec wheel to DD issue a long time ago. Love what he's always done.
I just wanna take this time to thank SRM for the efforts and will for giving them exposure. I never heard of them till now and I am constantly looking out for items that enable crossover between sim racing eco systems. I hope SRM flourishes as a business and will as well 🤘
I'm using an SRM emulator on my dd2 with there 6x conversion kit. Now I'm able to get rid of fanatecs QR system and run any wheel I want with out losing the high tourqe. I'm very satisfied with this company. I definitely recommend there products
I’ve had several of Simon’s products over the last 3 years, they have being excellent and are an absolute solid, high quality product. Simon’s customer service and support is unrivalled in my experience in the sphere of sim racing and Fanatec could learn a think or two from SRM.
I got converted my Fanatec Formula V2.5 with the SRM conversation kit for use on my Vrs base what i bought as an update from fanatec csl elite base. it's working flawlessly since a year now...
Simon is THE man. Great quality and attention to details. Bought a conversion kit in 2020 for my F1 limited edition 2020 to use it with my SC2 Pro and could not be happier. Great that you praise him 👏
Those prices are ridiculously reasonable. I wouldn’t have expected to get the machining of the replacement shaft for £57, let alone the anodising and electronics too.
I absolutly can recommend SRM. Have their SRM Fanatec Conversion Kit 5x for my Fanatec Mclaren GT3 Replica on my VRS Wheelbase - works great (all Buttons + Display !).
Cool to know this stuff it out there, I'm about to order some fanatec gear to start sim racing and knowing that I am able to open my options for wheels is nice to know for the future.
One thing to note for Fanatec owners, the "case only" version of the wheel-side emulator can be used to convert any Fanatec V1 wheel to be able to use a QR2 (or any removable Fanatec QR)
I purchased a g27 the first day they came out for live for speed. Over 8,000+ hours on it in assetto, not including other sims games and still works today, never needed to replace or upgrade anything on it for it to work. I got a direct drive and have had nothing but issues with hardware failure until i had to spend to get the highest model just for it to be useable.
Omg I woke up with a notification on my phone from your channel and I thought for sure this was gonna be the Club Sport DD review. Still a great video as always, but come on spill that tea!
I have their shaft extension which I use with CSL DD - it allows me to hide the wheel base behind the screen and have nice cockpit view. Great product!
The problem with SRM version of the universal podium hub is that it’s cheaper to get the Fanatec version if you live in the US. Shipping and import fees is what makes it more expensive than the fanantec version. Again this is if you live in the US.
When will you guys be able to release the CS DD+ review?! I’m holding my purchase off until I see your review of it against simcube, Simagic, VRS and Asetek
If you do all this for the sim racer, you have worked hard and his products seem to be good to me, great that someone is doing this, there are many gaps between brands for solutions
More info on the VRS adapter. I always thought the VRS was a little dinky and not as well finished as Simucube, Simagic, Asestek, Moza et al. It would be nice to have the VRS look Professionally finished.
How about getting more buttons for podium hub? Can't find anyone to sell those. You can add only 2 button modules with shifters or buy insane expensive button module. I just need few more buttons...
Just brought the csl dd bundle first time ever ordering a wheel upgrading from g29 but fanatec take 2 weeks to reply to your email and I ordered the wheel on Monday and it still hasn’t been shipped
Great video! I was close to buying their DD1 wheelbase conversion not too long ago since Fanatec had not come out with the QR2 release. Btw - I see you don’t have the BMW anymore 👀 congrats, mate!!! Well deserved!
Considering that you have been doing some DIY projects on this channel and now you even know a guy who "hacks" the wheels, I think it could be a cool video/project idea to make a wheel holder that will enable illumination and maybe even screen on that BMW wheel. Even having F-logo displayed on McLaren wheel's screen while it hangs on the wall could be rather cool thing. Looking forward to that.
Question🤔 How do you know which end is the top and the bottom when putting a wheel on the QR2? because with the qr1 you had to rotate the shaft to make sure you had the top part position correctly in order to put the wheel on the shaft if not it wont go in or could damage the pins. is that the case with the qr2? Because the new shaft seems to look identical all the way around, so how will we know what's the top and the bottom for us not to bend the pins when placing a wheel on it
Hi Will. Can I use the latest version of Fanalab with these adaptors for Fanatec Wheel to xyz base, as it is suppose to be matched to the Latest Firmware? Do the flag LED's work, do you know. Thanks for your time and videos.
Hi will, since you have asetek invicta with the QR for other steering wheel. can we use the fanatec steering wheel using SRM conversion kits to the Asetek's new QR bundle? SO that we could use fanatec steering wheel and then attach to USB female hub of Asetek QR?
The real crack to Fanatec will be when someone redesigns the flawed pin system to resemble the Logitech sprung pad system. No matter how many times the wheel goes on or off, you won't break any sprung pads as opposed to the pin design, which breaks if you sneeze. I'm genuinely astounded that Fanatec didn't release this for QR2.
I bought some magnetic shifters from SRM some time back - they're really nice. I then found they're not that far from me, and in fact I've flown over their place many a time in my plane as they are on the approach to where I fly from.
Does SRM plan to build out something similar for Moza products? It would be nice to be able to take my GS and CS forward to something like a SC2 pro down the line and not having to rebuy wheels would make that transition easier to swallow.
Great introduction to these products👍 A question sprung to my mind while watching… On my DD2 I have to acknowledge the high torque mode on every start via button press on the hub. Do the emulators also enable the high torque mode? I didn‘t find information regarding this on the website.
Thank you for an interesting video. I think it's great to see this kind of products that allow us to cross-use the product. I'm also curious to see how one can use Fanatec wheel on a real car. Especially when Fanatec positions QR2 to be "a real wheel from a real race car". I think many of us have sim-racing wheels that are much better than the one used in our cars. It would be cool to see if it's possible to use Fanatec wheel in a real car.
I was wondering if to install the standard QR2 on the XF1 Sport used in Bluetooth mode the SMC emulator was necessary or are there other cheaper methods
Amazing products! Hope he makes a solution to help us who have real car rigs to connect a regular car steering wheel to a base. I had to buy a cheap Fanatec wheel and sacrificed it, cut the quick release in the back and put the PCB board inside. It works, but not nearly as elegant and sturdy as this one.
On their site they don't list the GT DD pro as compatible for the adapter that makes the base think a fanatec wheel is attached. May work but that base is not listed
Hi nice video. I thinking about to buy the BMW wheel. What do i need to drive it on a MOZA base? Hope you can help me with this. Thank you for the video.
Who doesn’t wish for standards right? I’m still waiting for Linux support on the higher end wheels but my brake modded Logitech with a custom force feedback driver should work me wonders for a few years more Do like Datacenter tech does, assemble a consortium and get out open specifications together, both hardware and software
Maybe a rookie question. But if buy a Ascher USB wheel. Using the SRM or fanatec podium adaptor. Will I be able to map all buttons in game only or can simhub assist with some functions like bite point? (Is simhub the real host ? Or other software)
What do yall recommend if someone wants something around 12 nm dd with a alcantara wheel as for pedals I’m not too sure nor know if it matters but any pedals I suppose, and as for the reason I want one is because I currently have a g923 I hate the latency and the loudness and want something smooth and nice for drifting. I currently have an Xbox series x what do yall recommend? Money is not too much of a concern especially a next level upgrade compared to the Logitech g923
I got the srm emulator over fanatecs podium hub simply because of the color 😂 i didn’t want gold on my rig because it didn’t match anything on my rig and the srm emulator has been really good piece of kit!
Kind of skipped over it but if you use a non Fanatec wheel on a Fanatec base, I assume you can just use the QR1 or 2 of your choice but just with no pins going into the base side?

What did you buy from them ?
In my opinion, this company is the single most important company in all of sim racing. Bought many products from them, always pleased with the results.

I've converted my fanatec v2 with their adapter to fit my simucube 2. Great products 👌
eh?@@randomguydoes2901
The G25 was awesome!@@randomguydoes2901
Babe - this is all useless, warranty voiding hodgepodge. Buy an entry dd base & load cell pedal. Done. No dickering
Simon is a legend! I say this as a guy who knows him personally. His whole business set up is incredible and he's just a straight up good bloke!
Back when I purchased my conversion for my podium hub he hadn’t quite gotten the firmware right for it but it just so happened that he was almost done with the final build so he made sure to update the firmware for my unit before shipping it out to me. I don't have Fanatec nor plan to own one, but I will still watch it!
I just wanna take this time to thank SRM for the efforts and will for giving them exposure. I never heard of them till now and I am constantly looking out for items that enable crossover between sim racing eco systems. I hope SRM flourishes as a business and will as well 🤘
I am using the SRM adapters on my DIY wheels, all works perfectly!
I got a usb converted mclaren wheel when i bought my vrs base, the firmware was then updated to make the dual clutch work, awesome products
I'm using an SRM emulator on my dd2 with there 6x conversion kit. Now I'm able to get rid of fanatecs QR system and run any wheel I want with out losing the high tourqe. I'm very satisfied with this company. I definitely recommend there products
Me too.
This kind of video is priceless and fantastically done. I’d absolutely love to see more of this sort of thing
I’ve had several of Simon’s products over the last 3 years, they have being excellent and are an absolute solid, high quality product. Simon’s customer service and support is unrivalled in my experience in the sphere of sim racing and Fanatec could learn a think or two from SRM.

He answered my question so quickly it took me by surprise. SRM are extremely efficient. All great stuff.
Simon at SRM is a gigachad. Great products
Simon is THE man. Great quality and attention to details.

Used SRM this week to replace my broken pins - great company, great service and great product
I absolutly can recommend SRM. Have their SRM Fanatec Conversion Kit 5x for my Fanatec Mclaren GT3 Replica on my VRS Wheelbase - works great (all Buttons + Display !).
SRM seems to have the game figured out. So cool to see that this is all possible.
we need to talk about that lotus!!😮
Soon :)

If I installed one of these emulators on a thrustmaster SF1000 wheel, would I be able to use it on a Fanatec CSL DD wheelbase?
SRM is great/great bloke. Excellent example of the many high quality cottage industries in the UK.
I have a fanatec f1 converted steering wheel, its absolutely great!
Bought a ton of parts from him....outstanding service...thanks SRM!
00:02 that was Criag
Indeed it was! Real MVP!
Installed 6x and 6.2x kits last week, perfect quality and functionality 😊 100% recommended stuff
Omg I woke up with a notification on my phone from your channel and I thought for sure this was gonna be the Club Sport DD review. Still a great video as always, but come on spill that tea!
Simon is one of the most helpful people I've ever had dealings with.
Always think that is was a shame for Fanatec to turn off your FFB if you don't use their wheel, Big up to SRM to come out with a solution
I have their shaft extension which I use with CSL DD - it allows me to hide the wheel base behind the screen and have nice cockpit view. Great product!
Great to hear!
Will be nice to continue using my Fanatec wheels once I upgrade to a “better” base.
The problem with SRM version of the universal podium hub is that it’s cheaper to get the Fanatec version if you live in the US. Shipping and import fees is what makes it more expensive than the fanantec version. Again this is if you live in the US.
Would the emulator work with the new thrustmaster 488 GT3 rim on a fanatec base
When will you guys be able to release the CS DD+ review?! I’m holding my purchase off until I see your review of it against simcube, Simagic, VRS and Asetek
If you do all this for the sim racer, you have worked hard and his products seem to be good to me, great that someone is doing this, there are many gaps between brands for solutions
Do any of these solutions allow the thrustmaster sf1000 wheel to be used on a dd?
Very well made products.Well designed and manufactured stuff at SRM.
Great video! Wish you would of done it with an Asetek DD to see how that exactly works. Please make one!!
Is that a lotus emira in the background there?
Yep
More info on the VRS adapter. I always thought the VRS was a little dinky and not as well finished as Simucube, Simagic, Asestek, Moza et al. It would be nice to have the VRS look Professionally finished.

12:00 that coating isn't to protect electronics it is to stop anyone easily getting access to the chip they have used.
Great video! I was close to buying their DD1 wheelbase conversion not too long ago since Fanatec had not come out with the QR2 release.
Btw - I see you don’t have the BMW anymore 👀 congrats, mate!!! Well deserved!

We need this for Logi Pro ASAP!!
Question🤔
How do you know which end is the top and the bottom when putting a wheel on the QR2? because with the qr1 you had to rotate the shaft to make sure you had the top part position correctly in order to put the wheel on the shaft if not it wont go in or could damage the pins. is that the case with the qr2? I've got their universal wheel adapter and it works great, much cheaper than the podium hub.
Hi Will. Can I use the latest version of Fanalab with these adaptors for Fanatec Wheel to xyz base, as it is suppose to be matched to the Latest Firmware? Do the flag LED's work, do you know. Thanks for your time and videos.
I did this video with version 451 of the driver and the latest Fanalab and it worked fine.
@@boostedmedia Thank you

Also I need to know your best kinda budget racing cockpit maybe the 6 sigma 6s-80 or f-gt maybe a comparison
Great introduction to these products👍
A question sprung to my mind while watching… On my DD2 I have to acknowledge the high torque mode on every start via button press on the hub. Do the emulators also enable the high torque mode? I didn‘t find information regarding this on the website.
This is covered in the video :) just hold the wheel 90 degrees to the left or right to OK the prompt.
@@boostedmedia Sorry, missed that😅 Perfect, thanks!
Damn , can we have Micro Center in US ? Ugh .....
Micro Centre is in the US
Thank you for an interesting video. I think it's great to see this kind of products that allow us to cross-use the product. I'm also curious to see how one can use Fanatec wheel on a real car. 😱 you have an emira..... Nice really nice is it the 2.0 i4 or the 3.5? ❤
When I used to run the DD2, SRM saved me mondo bucks with their Fanatec adaptors/emulator gear. Never purchased a single podium hub.
do they ship to the US?
Hi.... I own a clubsport f1 esport wheel v1 .. Was thinking to upgrade the qr1 to qr2.. Which adapter should I go for? Thanks
Simon srm is an absolute gent and very helpful.

When’s the review on fanatec clubsport dd? I would like to see how it differs from the podium dd2.
Brilliant products, thanks for the video.
Hi, Is possible to use a converted Fanatec wheel with a Fanatec wheel-base to avoid disconnection troubles from QR usb-c? can you try it?
Sim Racing Machines SRM is hands down the best sim racing merchant i have ever dealt with...phenominal service
Do you know if there is a company that have fanatec pedals pc-boards replacement?
How did this guy fly under my radar! Highly interested in his products now! Appears he's a genius!
Just fear that firmware/software updates may break compatability.
Does it works with new fanatec bases CS DD / DD+ ?
Who doesn’t wish for standards right? I’m still waiting for Linux support on the higher end wheels but my brake modded Logitech with a custom force feedback driver should work me wonders for a few years more
Do like Datacenter tech does, assemble a consortium and get out open specifications together, both hardware and software
Unrelated question to the video but are there any budget cockpits you can recommend to a 6'5 guy ? Around the 3-400 price range
typically the epoxy is there to obscure components to make it harder to reverse engineer or repair, not to protect it ;)
Maybe a rookie question. But if buy a Ascher USB wheel. Using the SRM or fanatec podium adaptor. Will I be able to map all buttons in game only or can simhub assist with some functions like bite point? (Is simhub the real host ? Or other software)

Did the M2 get replaced by an Emira?
Whats the torque spec ? =)
Does SRM offer a adapter that allows you to add any wheel to a simagic wheelbase wirelessly without a usb cable?
No. That’s not possible as Simagic use their own Bluetooth protocol for connecting to the wheel.
$240 AUD prior to shipping for Fanatec emulator with QR. Fanatec podium is now 214.95 AUD. So not worth the stuff around in Aus.
I got the mini SRM emulator.
Works perfect, thinks its an old f1 wheel
Very helpfull vid, Will!
What car is in the background?
I got the srm emulator over fanatecs podium hub simply because of the color 😂 i didn’t want gold on my rig because it didn’t match anything on my rig and the srm emulator has been really good piece of kit!
What is this blue beauty behind you? Doesn't look like the BMW we've seen there... :)
The amount of times I’ve glanced over this video not watching it, holy shit did I need it
How and where can we get similar videos about that blue Lotus Emira behind you? :)
Will make a video soon :)
I would love to see a company make a converter to let me connect Invicta pedals directly to Fanatec wheelbase
Kind of skipped over it but if you use a non Fanatec wheel on a Fanatec base, I assume you can just use the QR1 or 2 of your choice but just with no pins going into the base side?
Fanatec disables the force feedback to force you to buy a very expensive podium hub for third party wheels.
