    Thanks both for the tips and for the viewing, Cameron. I always appreciate your work. Was interesting to learn in a previous video about your big gig as a helicopter pilot.

    Very nice. Good idea. As an enthusiast and dad I will never have the time I want. However I treasure both the successful and learning shoots. I appreciate you showing so many good shots you can still learn from.

    Yes and anything outdoors. Including hunting and Flyfishing is my favorite things to do. Great job sir .

    Good stuff, Cameron. Enjoyed your brief discussion of each image. I think you used the term “being a student of your own photography.” This is so important (even if I screwed up your terminology). As I gained experience, made mistakes and figured out what the hell I was doing, I gradually changed my approach. Became really focused on analyzing my images, being harsh in the critique, and only publishing and printing the ones that were special. That whole process prompted me to be more thoughtful in the field about trying to capture something special and slowing down and trying to accomplish some specific shots. Thank you for sharing your process.

    Thanks for all your great advice!
    I just find your channel and I'm binging everything you've got here.
    I'm at the very beginning of this passion and is the first time when I heard "to expose for the background". It will be great if you will explain in a future video how to do that.
    Thank you very much once more!

    Well...I did it...I completely watched all of your videos. Your videos are truly inspiring, and your photos are phenomenal. I have only been doing wildlife/bird photography for about a year now, but I have been into photography for the better part of my life, I remember buying my first little point and shoot camera when i was like 16/17. It just grew from there. Since I got into DSLR’s, i have always had nikons. Started with a D40x, then a D7000, and now I have a D750 which I am hoping to upgrade soon, to either a D850 (or the successor) or a Z7ii. Ive thought about switching brands, but I do love Nikon. I love when you speak about the adventure and the experience of getting the photograph, that really is what it is all about. I fall in and out of that mindset, but lately I have been having great experiences in the field. I mostly shoot birds since where I live there really isn’t that much wildlife to shoot besides foxes and deer. I also love printing images. Yes viewing them on a computer screen is nice, but I grew up having photo albums throughout the house and always enjoyed flipping them open to enjoy pictures. Sorry for the long comment but I just wanted to express how I felt. Thank you for your content, and photos. One day I am going to purchase one of your, once I figure out where I can put one and what size I want. I cannot wait to see you grow more on RUclips and in general as a photographer. I definitely need to make a trip to Alaska, it has always been on bucket list, but seeing what you experience, I definitely want to experience that. Happy holidays and I look forward to more of your work.

      @@cameronroxberry7014 thanks Cameron, I truly appreciate that! I also forgot to mention that I also love the journal idea and actually have started that recently myself. Sometimes you go on so many adventures, they all blend together. So I wanted to be able to look back on each individual day and know exactly what happened.

    I too like the rembrandt lighting of cow moose image. Would like to know how you determined to use the portrait orientation instead of landscape orientation. Think the landscape orientation having entire body would have taking away from the image.

    Interesting your comments on exposing for dark or light backgrounds rather than subject or whole scene. Does that mean you are using a spot metering mode?

  • @steveboice
    @steveboice 3 года назад +1

    What medium did you use for the Lynx image on the wall? The detail looks like it is photo paper but I'm assuming it is canvas given the size.

    You mention several times how you "got lucky" with a shot. You did. Several examples of being at the right place at the right time.... that being said, you made your own luck by getting out to these places again and again until you got those print worthy shots.
