- Join me today on a tutorial styled video where I break down my processes and techniques for editing and printing my photography. This is how I edit the majority of my work and hopefully future proof it for sale. I'll take one particular image from import, to Lightroom for global adjustments, and then into Photoshop for the details. After the adjustments join me in my makeshift print shop as I complete the process with the final result! As always, drop any tips or suggestions in the comments so we all can grow and learn!
Programs used:
Adobe Lightroom Classic
Adobe Photoshop 2020
Topaz Denoise AI (normally)

Absolutely phenomenal photo. This is my new favorite video ever. Killer tips and techniques. Thanks so much for sharing.
@@novablaze317 you are correct...nobody cares
I love printing my images - it’s so underrated in the digital era. An image is only finished when it‘s on paper. The final print of your artwork is so satisfying. Glad you did this video, really enjoyed it, big fan of your work and learned a lot about the membrane on the eagles (and sharks) eye! The print is awesome- Thank You and keep safe.
Your images are really beautiful! I really enjoy your videos.
In regard to selecting your subject with the lasso tool, (I am sure you probably know this already), but there is a quicker way to do it. Just go to the select menu and click on “select subject“. It didn’t use to work that great, but it does a pretty amazing job now. Just thought it might save you some time if you didn’t know.
Thanks again for sharing your beautiful images!!
You’ve only taken this up two years ago? Look at that printer... you are all in!!! 😂
incredible print!!! i agree there is nothing like printing your work and watching it come to life!
For sharpening in Lightroom try:
Radius to the minimum (+0,50).
Details to the maximum (+100).
Masking usually around 2/3 up, you have to tinker a bit around to find the best value for your cameras resolution.
Adjust the strength as desired.
Only downside is, that Lightroom doesn't offer this as a local adjustment. However, it works well for most images anyways.
Thanks for the heads up on this editing work flow Cam, very kind of you to share. Keep up the great images and may you always have good light.
Fantastic. From the image editing to the final printing. Great job. Thank you for sharing. Hugs from Brazil..
I love big prints, was not crazy about the image and then I saw the print come out and loved it. I did a photo project hiking across California and I made a photo book and the amount of fulfillment and excitement I got from printing and sharing the book was as if amazing as the adventure itself. Keep up the good work and the videos.
I truly enjoy your videos. I should take your advice and start printing. It’s a real shame most of our images just sit on hard drives and never get the attention they truly deserve. Thanks for the inspiration.
I am absolutely convinced that your friend is happy with the print. Great work!
Very informative video, I learned a lot more on your channel than many other ones!
Seeing the final print is beautiful
This is a very informative video...thanks for sharing.
PS - need to get my own photobook...damn
I really enjoyed your video I could not agree more with your comments about printing your images I get tremendous satisfaction printing my images look forward to your next video
william mcgillivray so stoked you enjoyed it, man!

@@cameronroxberry7014 What kind of printer is that??
Matthew Patrick it’s a Canon IPF 8400
Amazing shot. Congratulations. You speak so much sense too. Really useful channel for us wildlife photographers. Keep up the good work.
Everything in this video is just awesome, thanks for sharing :)
Brilliant video, Very helpful and informative. Greetings from Norfolk UK. Many Thanks for sharing. The Print Is Beautiful.
Loved the Video
Thanks for detailed workflow
Thank you very much for sharing, this is exactly what I was looking for!
FANTASTIC....one of a few videos where editing is limited and the importance of printing is highlighted...loved the video and inspired to get my images printed
Great info and video Cameron. Nice setup you have there. I utilize a canon printer, but only to print for family and friends, but still most enjoyable. Look forward to your next adventure video.🙂
I enjoyed this as I am about to take the plunge to do some printing of my photos. For myself, primarily, but who knows. Thanks for reinforcing my decision!
Guy Kerr absolutely, man! i know you won’t regret it!
The satisfaction of holding your print in that size must be amazing!. I’m not a pro photographer but i do think that printing is a requirement in this digital era... as always, great video!, thanks for the content
Been waiting for this. Cheers mate!
Shame Boner hopefully it helps man!
Both your commentary and your images are excellent, Cameron. Thanks for taking us along in the field and in the lab. Your wildlife tips are great. Hope you continue to show us those
"Bad Boys" as you are wont to call them.
thanks for your tips great image to capture
Fantastic video!! Just subscribed!
Really informative and interesting. Great channel.
Loved your chair ......
Sweet set up!
Connor Macklin thanks, brother!
Thanks again for sharing this, I fully agree on the importance of printing - I am just surprised it was that easy here and that you did not have any color space management in your workflow; I spend so much time soft proofing my images before printing so that I have the exact colors I want printed and no strange effects !
Btw you did the "Soft Light" instead of "Overlay" at the eye layer at 10:28 :)
Nice print and nice bird mate. A tip, if you want 300 ppi when you resize on photoshop, tick the “resample” box and leave it to automatic. This will enlarge your image and keep it at 300 ppi. Photoshop does a great job, but the best app for enlarging is topaz gigapixel in my opinion. Try it and you’ll remember me
T S i’ve read a little about resizing, but haven’t actually ever tried. i’ll definitely get it a shot man. thank you!
Great effort and thank you for sharing. Perhaps the print was not displaying as well on the video though it appeared to be super contrasty and lacking any mid-tone details?
Thank you - very informative.
Can you show how you have your Wacom configured. I have one but have never been able to keep it in front of my keyboard. I'm not getting anything out of it over a keyboard and mouse.
Informative video. How do you prevent the picture being noticeably darker after printing though? I understand that on the screen its LED backlit, but if one would want to keep the brightness the same, is there some workflow for that?
I enjoy seeing Alaska through your lens. How do you like your Hok skis?
Agree with you on the printing its next on my list of purchases surprised your edits are so simple though a that you don't use layer masking or other super technical editing. Nice job and super jealous of that printer lol
Joseph Cole i’ve always just tried to keep it simple and realistic. I’ll be stoked to see you start printing! i definitely think you won’t regret it
Hey Cameron great job! I am a newly with bird photography. I notice that you didn’t sign or copyright your image? Is that standard practice? Cheers
Hey can u tell how do u do the black in background i want to learn it and always awsome video
Murtuza Tambawala that’s all done in camera, man. using lens compression and a low aperture to really blow the background out and give it a nice blurry portrait feel
What is the black pad and pencil that you use to edit your images?? Looking into getting one
Is there any particular reason you didn't use the resample function in PS to bring the DPI back after the resize?
I wasn't expecting to see a IPF 8400 in your basement ! lol Don't you use a RIP software to print your stuff? would give you a better quality and management of the files to print.
Excuse this (maybe obvious) question, but what is the black editing tablet you are using? Is that a Wacom tablet, what version? Thank you
How did you get so close to the eagle??
Nothing can compare to a good print.
Great looking bird but what's up with the Eye?
that’s his nictitating membrane, sort of like an eye lid. used for protecting his eye or even keeping it wet.
I thought so but seeing the eyes is so important...
Roy Bixby for me, the intent was to capture the membrane on this one man.. i wanted it fully closed exposing the veins over the eye. But i do completely agree with you. for 90% of wildlife photography the eye is the subject.
Hi Cameron, are you doing anything different today since this was 3 years ago?
Two questions: do you print from LR or from PS and if Lightroom, do you manage the profiles from there or from the printer?
Justin Sande i print exclusively from photoshop, it gives me the maximum control of the profiles in my opinion. and i match all profiles from the printer to Ps
your PC is really slow, you should upgrade it
liu changxiang that’s a fact lol
lol at the end of the video you wiped your brow while wearing your gloves -doesn't that defeat the purpose of the gloves as you just loaded the finger tips up with the oil and sweat your trying to keep off the prints :-)
You pro guys make me laugh. You have 20ks worth of gear and a bird so close and still, then show us how to edit it. That photo straight from the camera is better than anything I could ever produce with the wild life here in Bulgaria and my gear. Why not show us an average shot and then show off your editing skills.
Why are producing tutorials when you have absolutely no idea what you are doing? Literally no idea. A shambolic mess from start to finish.
would love a link to check out some of your work 👍🏻
