This helps a lot! Excited to build my gladiator
Glad I could help! You will LOVE them!
Got a Gladiator. I'm optioning it out for my child.
Injora parts are amazing bang for the buck, definiton of value. Now, there has been(until Injora hit the scene) either really expensive SCX24 parts or cheap but not nice machined parts. Injora parts have incredible milling and finish on them, at ANY price.
Shipping is free directly from them, but you have to wait a little while. You can option out your entire rig for about 200-250!😊
They are a good value for sure. Another great company with quality and good prices is Meus. Be sure to check them out.
@@TheShopMiniRC sure thing, many thanks! 😊
I need these on my ULTRA4. I used your video to explain scrub to guys I crawl with.
Nice! Glad it helped.
Sweeeeet, might need these for the cheat code
They are pretty cool.
Awesome review thank you.
Have a question, I have a almost stock trx4m bronco, and when I turn my steering wheel all the way left or right, I get vibration on my front wheels, especially ıf I apply more than 70% throttle. Will buying these axels solve the issue?Thank you :)
These axles are for an scx24 and trying to install them on a TRX4M will be difficult.
But yes, you can get replacement axle shafts for TRX4M that might do better. Also, we did a video on the TRX4M Meus Isokinetic axles.. those axles have a ridiculous turn radius. Be sure to check that video out.
I see, thank you very much for the detailed answer :)@@TheShopMiniRC
I put a mark on my wheel and went around a couple times and the mark did not line back up so I’m pretty sure that’s what’s causing my binding when I put it in reverse
Most likely. It means you have over or Underdrive.
I saw on Amazon that they had +4mm cvd. I wonder if they would fit inside the injora axle housing?
No, this won’t work unless the cvd is made specially for the axles.
The normal +4 cvd is extended on the knuckle side of the shaft where as the axles in this video are extended on the axles housing side of the shafts.
At 6:58 you talk about and demonstrate the smoothness (zero binding) of these axles.
My question to you is are worm geared axles supposed to be free of binding? I'm getting mixed answers from social media.
I got a set of the Meus isokinetic axles and the rear axle has a lot of binding. I broke down the axle and gears, everything looks good. Snug down the diff cover screws and she binds up.
Thank you, sir.
You shouldn’t have actual binding if you’re turning the driveshaft. If you try to turn from the wheels, they will likely bind.
Try loosening the diff covers and then see if it changes the binding. If you tighten and they bind again, then the cover is smashing down on the pinion and bearings and you might check to see if the oring is in there and if it’s broken or maybe just remove it. See if that helps when the cover is tight.
@@TheShopMiniRC I will give this a try. Thanks again for your help, Ken!
@@TheShopMiniRC took the axle apart again and there are no o-ring (s) in there. I even tried the under-drive gears, still binds. I then took the worm gear out and left only the worm wheel with axle shafts in, put the cover on, barely snugged the screws and she binds. I believe that's telling me the cover is binding on the worm wheel (spur gear). Just to be sure I checked everything, I removed the worm wheel (spur gear), put just the worm gear in, snugged up the cover screws and she spins freely. So, after all this, it's got to be a problem with the worm wheel and the cover.
I'm still waiting for a reply to my email from Meus. I'm nearly on my last nerve with these axles. Thanks for any other advise you may have, besides tossing these in the garbage and buying the injora+4's 🤯
@@GeorgieBud2020 you could try sanding down the flat end of the worm gear just a tad. Or try to scrape out where the bearings seat into the diff cover or inside the axle with an xacto or something. Just to try and free up the worm gear some. Could also
Just not tighten the cover all the way down. Use loctite to hold the screws since you can’t completely tighten them down.
@@TheShopMiniRC was thinking the same, maybe take my dremel to the inside of the cover. Going to wait to see if Meus has an answer.
Which axles would you prefer meus Scx24 axles or these axles ?
I really like the Meus isokinetics.
I’ve thought about overdrive on the front but concerned it will cause strain on the drivetrain with a high traction surface. Have u run an OD on painted expanding foam with a lot of grip? Any issues?
You would be fine with over/underdrive on a crawler as you arent "ripping it".
If you are going fast, then its a different story, but with a crawler, you're good.
LOCK TIGHT EVERYTHING on out side of axels cause if you loose them little brass spacers on the front axel you will be down for months inless you happen to have them little rare pieces. i bent my dog shaft in the first 5 hours of crawling. an the only "Extension" i have is the Stamp Steel Wheels flipped. any thoughts on how to get a stronger dog bone ? or should i just flip my wheels back around lol and whats your personal thoughts on thesse axels since you had them for a month now
I love these axles but yes, be sure not to break anything or your gonna be waiting a while. You kinda don’t want to go too wide and the whole point of these axles is you get to reduce your scrub radius. Soooo I wouldn’t run flipped deep dished on here. (It’s also hard on your dog bones)
@@TheShopMiniRC yep I bent the passenger front dog bone yesterday but if you go to Amazon an look up these axels then into questions there’s a link straight to buy spare “Injora dog bones” wish they made these in cvd? Heard that’s stronger
Reduced scrub radius? Is it not worse widing the axels?
@@Hannsom7 no. Because scrub radius increases when you extend from the knuckle outward, not when you extend from the knuckle inward.
@@Hannsom7 also… I explain it all in the video. Be sure to watch the whole thing. I break down everything you wanna know about scrub radius.
Where did you mount the rear links? I only see where to mount the HC ones not the straight ones.
They mount to the rear truss. You likely need to use the stock rear truss.
Are the shock mounting positions the same as a standard axle or are they widened like the super 8’s? Looking for a widened shock mount axle for a wide chassis lgrp comp build and the super 8’s are never in stock
Standard.
I’m stuck between a set of these or the meus isokenetic axles for my Scx24 Betty
The Meus are pretty good. Better turn angle but a bit more scrub. These are also very good though. Hard call.
@@TheShopMiniRC thank you for this it’s only a 7$ diff between the two but I think either option I wouldn’t be upset with
Will they take the stock gears? Already have an OD trans :)
They use the same type worm gears. There should be no issues with putting stock worms in.
Hi,
I just upgraded my deadbolt scx24 with RCGF axel, before I installed it then it was working just fine... After the installation, it is going backwards... If I pull the trigger it goes rear if I push the trigger it goes front... Somebody knows how to fix it?
on the remote there should be a way to switch your channel 2 direction. worst case, you can switch the tire on the motor.
I have a video here: ruclips.net/video/3LOarPpZCxQ/видео.html
I put new axles underneath my bronco and when I go backwards something ain’t right I think I need your help
I’m pretty sure I have overdrive in the front so that’s probably what my issue is
100%
I hope someone makes wider axles for the fcx24
That would be nice!!!
whats the best way to widen a scx24?
You just watched the video on the best way. Extended axles are ideal.
Yeah, don't use brass extenders, they sucks.
Ohhh I like spoilers !!!
Indeed ;)
If those had CVDs and were machined to have a little more turn radius they would be perfect - like this - you have to invest time and money.
Yah. I agree.
I love your content, but please put your videos at normal speed. I'm not smart enough to slow it down on my side.
Best I can tell, this video IS at "normal" speed.
These are at normal speed. He just speaks very fast. I sent him a suggestion before to slow down his speaking while making youtube videos as constructive criticism. Anyways, great video The shop! Iv been running these axles for a few months with no problems and the quality is great.
If you are in a phone, click on the video and in the upper right is the “settings gear” icon. Click on that and at the bottom of the list is playback speed. If in a computer it’s in the lower right of the video screen.
He's on Crack, its sped up. You can tell by his chipmunk voice.
I thought I was cracked out. Its definitely sped up a bit.
i just don't like that most of these "companies" are putting their brand name on absolutely everything, it ruins the look for me.
Many people buy part FOR the branding lol
You can always repaint the parts. :-/
Ok, I hate you...I truly hate you. A little over a year ago, my next door neighbor gave me a yellow SCX24 Jeep, and I vowed to keep the original chassis & body, only upgrading 'necessities'. Granted, even a year later, I haven't gotten many of those intended upgrades done. Through decals, the body now resembles the Jurassic Park Jeeps (tho, I should mention that, in the novel, the vehicles are NOT Jeeps...they're Toyota FJ-40s). Other upgrades are the aluminum tie rod & steering link, anti-squat, and steel driveshafts...that's it, so far.
Now, your 'problematic' video comes out, and or has me thinking...thinking I need to buy a new SCX24, and turn it into (a facsimile of) a micro Capra.
I hate you...just kidding...lol. Seriously, fantastic video. While I'm not one to go for Injora parts (since they tend to be of 'questionable' quality), a vehicle this small could make me "change my mind". 🤙🏼
We have a full build video in the buggy coming soon! I apologize to your wallet. ;)
@@TheShopMiniRC GREATLY looking forward to that video. As for my wallet, no worries...it hates me of late, anyways, due to a lot of recent Mini-Z-related purchases. Of course, I have my former nextdoor neighbor to thank/blame for that. After all, he's the one who gave me the SCX24, and who got me interested in Mini-Z.
Gotta blame someone (other then myself), right? 😁
@@robbryan3044 ooof. Hopefully in the next few weeks we will have the new Reflex Racing RX28 SE mini z build video up too. Lol
@@TheShopMiniRC I've had my RX28SE for a few weeks, but I haven't started building it yet. Last night, I did get the 'unboxing' video uploaded...I'm hoping to get the build (and video) done within the next 1-2 weeks. Tho, I certainly don't expect my video to be as polished as any of yours. My channel is 2+yrs two years old...but, due to an incredibly chaotic work schedule for the company I used to work for, I never really had the opportunity to film/upload, or to grow the channel. Having recently moved (and, changing companies in the process...but, essentially, the same line of work), and changing the name of the channel in the process (from RC Adventures), I'm hoping to finally be able to do videos on a more frequent basis. By the way, I still "hate you"...and, my Jurassic Park SCX24 Jeep will remain a Jeep (I'll just have to buy another SCX24 to do my 'Micro Capra'.
Just to be clear, Injora stuff for the 1/24 has actually been really good. Definitely coming into their own in this space by watching what people are doing and making what the market is missing but keeping it affordable. It used to be that you had to buy RC4WD tires, now most people buy Injora. Their QC could be a bit better but the products are good.
