This is by far the best video explaining what happens after death. As a medical student I can tell you this explained it far better than my text book! Much appreciated!!
hi, I'm investigating a crime took place in AZ, they don't have TOD, I have medical report, police report and photos of the victim who was my friend. By the way my name is not Ben, I am using different account to avoid problems with the killer/s. Can you help me? I'll write you my email if you can. Thanks
My partner died (lying on a sidewalk) from ethanol toxicity (alcoholism). I obtained the medical examiner's report which described livor mortis as a condition of the body. She was 61 y/o, living homeless for approximately 3 years and suffering from chronic alcoholism . This video explains the mortis differences which gives me more information about her time of death. The only time reference was that of the EMT arrival in response to a 911 call. .Thanks for the clear explanation. North Hills CA USA 7-15-2021
I remember holding my late grandmother’s hand some time after she flatlined and her body went into rigor mortis. Scared me half to death but I had to keep myself from laughing afterwards- almost like she wanted to play one last joke on me.
That’s not the worst part. I had call where this lady’s father was decomposing and all the blood pulled to his face and swole it up. Every while has fluid coming out and his face was dragged and out of place to the point where he was in recognizable. He had green fluid soaked around his face and blood out the ears. Pretty amazing what happens to the body .
I'm a pet mortician at an emergency animal hospital. I prepare the pets (mostly cats & dogs) for either cremation or burial, & rigor makes everything we have to do more difficult. Thought it was about time I looked up exactly what's going on with them - except I didn't know about pallor mortis being a thing, because you can't see any change in skin color through the fur.
I'm writing a book and I needed to know how to describe a scene where a cop finds a dead body and talks about rigor mortis. So I found this video. Very informative ❤❤
Or discovering one in your home not knowing they've been deceased for approximately 2 days...N you checked on him the day before realizing he was deceased n just thought he was sleeping so you ate his cookies n talked sh** about the hair he left in the bathroom. Then having to clean up the mess n air the odor out from what's left after the M.E. removed him. N he always made fun of me n called me the maid because I cleaned my mom's house for her, n there I was cleaning up after him, literally, for the last time. (He wouldn't mind me talking about this. He had a dark sense of humor)
Very informative and interesting but can you pls give a word by word explanation in the bottom and an emphasis word like the hours for us not to missed that important information, very very thanks for this.
My father passed last year. When I got into his house, he was laying face down, a pool of blood from his mouth and nose, his body was not yet in rigor, and thankfully, he had a smile on his face, and a look of peace and relief. The police, both young idiots; closed and locked the doors, so when the wagon came the house stank of death.
something that i've always been curious about, but never met anybody to ask, who could explain it... i was there as an uncle of mine died in the hospital, of liver failure. he was breathing in a bizarre rhythm that day, then his breathing became relaxed, slowed, slowed, slowed, and just stopped, rather quickly. he died with his mouth wide open and eyes wide open, and i attempted to close both very shortly after, because my mom - his sister - was going to be coming back soon, and i just wanted him to be a bit more presentable. his eyelids wouldn't move, and his jaw was also stiff, stuck open. i wasn't going to apply a lot of force or anything, but with the moderate force i was willing to use, i couldn't make either budge. was this not rigor mortis? why did it happen within a minute of his death?
@@j___3107 this wasn't sudden at all, we had gotten called in like, 12 hours previous because his breathing was all crazy, this breathing pattern people can take on when they're actively dying
Lol. Good one! My own answer is once the receiver (brain) cannot pick up the signal (source creation/consciousness) anymore bcoz it's dead. That's when I reckon that life force skedaddles back to it's homeland.
This video was more brutal than most of death metal or grindcore album covers. XD Truth and reality is worse (because mor painful) for people than any imagination.
man why is learning so much fun when not under pressure with tons of tests in class..

I'm sorry for you, man.
May your partner rest in eternal peace. 💙
"the skin becomes pale"
animators: *make skin darker*
Actually that's true.
Well yes because it’s loosing color in the skin, making it appear more sickly
I had no idea all these things happened so quickly. Informative video.
Thank you for clearing this out. I'm a criminology student and I just couldn't understand the class from which I'm paying for.

So when we die, we piss ourselves and fart.
Our bodies release waste from our renal and digestive system because our muscles relax.

Could have been rigor mortis, in cases of sudden , accidental or homicidal deaths it occurs early.. so maybe but its unlikely

So that's why the forensic doesn't allow anyone to move or touch the dead body in a crime scene?
Yes or for evidence.
Probably, and also to make sure no extra DNA gets on the body.
Have you taken the "room temperature challenge"? It’d be a lot cooler if you did! lol
Why does a corpse’s skin look yellow (jaundiced) shortly after death? I wondering if it was due to death or pre-existing condition?
AH so THAT's what rickand morty is!
How many science students are here?
Rigor mortis is first seen in the jaw and thigh muscles, not the eyelids and fingertips.
I don't want to die 😫😫😫😫😫
You will not. Don't worry. Keep smiling :).
I think only muscle contraction needs ATP and not muscle relaxation.
Justice for SSR
LOL.
