Part of my second job when I was 17 was transporting dead patients to the morgue in Sai t Joseph's hospital in Atlanta. It was always hard going up there with the stretcher while the family is crying. Sometimes the last breath happened while I was taking them away. It made me really appreciate life.
My best friend was killed by a negligent driver. We weren't allowed to have her funeral until the police had finalised two autopsy reports. It had to be a close casket funeral. I wanted to see her but they said I couldn't because I'm not genetically her family. She was all I had. Three days before was the last day I ever saw her. We were long distance at that time with plans to move in together after we graduated highschool.
My great great grandfather was an EMT during WWI. He told my great grandma during one of his shifts, he and his partner picked up a deceased soldier. The soldier had sustained a wound to his torso that was so large, you could see right through him. As they were driving, the body snapped right up into a sitting position, eyes wide open and unseeing. They nearly got into a car accident from being so startled! They had to pull over and lay the soldier down. It wasn't easy since the body had gone completely stiff, so they pretty much had to break the bones in the solder's body to get him lying down again. That story used to give me nightmares as a kid.
10:26 I almost just started to cry. I've lost a friend from suicide (Not really, He more or less was on his balcony connected to his apartment and fell over.) and to loose someone thats close that you've cared for years, It just rips your heart apart.

Not as many people specifically want to be a mortician with no prior exposure to it. That’s at least how it works mainly in eastern Canada!
I haven't gone into mortuary science but I studied with a lot of mort sci people when I was at university, and even considered going into the field myself. I think that it takes a certain type of personality to do the work; you have to be able to separate the person from the human and look solely at the biology and practice involved. It becomes significantly harder if it's a young child or baby involved, but other than that it's a really rewarding line of work from what I hear.
As a Mortuary Student and Funeral Professional, the reason I do what I do is because I have a lot of empathy and am no stranger to loss and grief. I’ve been able to use my experiences to connect with the bereaved and serve my community by transporting and handling the remains of every single individual with dignity, honor and respect. It all comes from a place of compassion, which is vital. The ancient practice and necessity of death care is an honorable job that is mostly misunderstood by a lot of people. I was in that category until I started working in the field. Now my views on death, dying, grief and biological factors have become different in their perceptions from what they once were
Anyone else watching as many informational RUclips videos as possible? I'm not doing anything with the information, it just makes me feel productive 😂😂
I grew up and live on a soft/hardwood tree farm and recently we almost had a potential logging accident occur on our land. One of our logger's flipped their multi-tonne 15+ ft tall machine over on its side (keep in mind this man is 89 years old) and I watched it happen from my kitchen window. Don't ask me how he was able to turn off the machine and climbed out with nothing more than a bruise on his arm, especially considering he wasn't wearing a seat belt. The logging industry has one of the highest risks of accidental fatality and I've got mad respect for those in the industry
I don’t think people do it because they feel they have to, I think that people choose these jobs because they want to do the best they can to help. Whether it be to find the cause of death or to make them look more presentable so the family can have better closure. This profession must take a lot of heart. ♥️
I was a death investigation intern a few summers ago when I was 21 and I’ve performed a couple autopsies on my own. To most people, it’s an unbelievable job that couldn’t understand why I did it and wouldn’t want to hear all the stories. But for me, it was so fascinating and gave me such a better appreciation for my life and others lives. It was an amazing opportunity that I will forever cherish
In high school I interned at a medical examiner’s office for two months . I remember on my first day they were taking about getting takeout and even offered to pay for my take out and I just couldn’t my first day, I couldn’t even eat my dinner that day.
@@DerrilDaGoat the people who shared the photos are bad. Not the people who performed the autopsy itself 🤦🏽♀️ also, it’s normal for photos to be taken during autopsy. It’s not normal for them to be shared. Don’t shoot the messenger.
As a native American I can tell you that we never do autopsies on our family or any of the dead as it's against our religion but I do appreciate the amount of mental health they sacrifice
My uncle was beaten to death last year and we had a closed casket because they said his face was caved in. Brain didn’t return until after the funeral and they cremated it separately and just added it to the urn.

FBI: How did this guy die?
Imagine meeting an 8 yrs old kid and they say I WANT TO BE A MORTICIAN WHEN I GROW UP 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Dr. G taught me about the "Y incision"🩺👩⚕️
@ no I was an undergraduate intern
@ I had supervision but I performed all the cuts
In high school I interned at a medical examiner’s office for two months . I remember on my first day they were taking about getting takeout and even offered to pay for my take out and I just couldn’t my first day, I couldn’t even eat my dinner that day.
I feel a little ill. I'm amazed people can do this for a living. It's so upsetting just hearing about it. But I'm glad there are people who do do it.

Man: Here’s the shirt I want my brother to wear in his casket.
Mortician: bruh he was cremated..
Me: Gets out of bed to get a snack
*The people doing the autopsy:*
Preparing a person’s body for a dignified wake is a noble profession.
"You and everyone else will die"
SPOILER ALERT!!!
Come on guys, that's a HUGE plotpoint!
Tim Baughman IKR, hes spoiling the ending, like dude, I haven’t seen it yet!
When you heart a comment, the outline disappears...
Wait, this isn't Tik Tok....
Lol
Last time I was this early, all the comments said "First!"

Morticians do not perform autopsy… anatomical pathologists, who are doctors do… a mortician provides funeral services…
Out of all the videos I have watched on this channel. This one disturbs me the most.
I wish my body will never have to go through of autopsy
U have to if u want to have a grave and a funeral sorry bud
@@Fuckdaopps5 autopsy is done to determine the reason of death right ?
@@IMdAbdulquadirKhan no
@@Fuckdaopps5 we have cultural differences
@@Fuckdaopps5 . That's not true bro. If you're death is expected then you won't have to bet an autopsy.
i loved listening to this guys, its like he's a friend of mine and tells me how his work is
I think they did the y shape thing with von in his leaked autopsy
Yeah they did
They do it with everybody
That's a standard incision for every autopsy.
All I gotta say is thank you to this people who do the work
Sorry to hear about your friend.😦
Does anyone else get sad thinking about a loved one potentially dying and there’s nothing you can do about it?):
I'm pretty sure everyone does. It feels so helpless.

“Like you Opening a Rambuta-“
*Filipinos* : We heard you call for us
“No”
*ok*
Yes
I love rambutans 😋
No rambutan is from Indonesia no filipinos
“Died from overfilled brain” because of this video, the same thing might happen to me
I've seen several autopsies and the only thing that creeps me out is the sound of the bone saw. It's WORSE than fingernails on a chalk board.
Agreed
See's Corpse with an entire katana sticking out of it
Mortician: *Hmm, Interesting*
the fact that my homeboys & king von went thru this 🤦♂️
Best thing to know is that the people who do this are doing this with the utmost respect possible.
@@eleanorofaquitaine2979 cap. King Von's was leaked
@@DerrilDaGoat the people who shared the photos are bad. Not the people who performed the autopsy itself 🤦🏽♀️ also, it’s normal for photos to be taken during autopsy. It’s not normal for them to be shared. Don’t shoot the messenger.

I'm going to try and not die in a messed up way so no one has to put my decaying body back together...
My friend is a mortician. My biggest fear is the day he has to process me. Hopefully I get the timing right.
As a native American I can tell you that we never do autopsies on our family or any of the dead as it's against our religion but I do appreciate the amount of mental health they sacrifice
Anyone here after seeing Von autopsy?
Yea
The way you said I sometimes confused me but this was a great video with great naration
who’s here after King Von died & got his autopsy pictures leaked?
My uncle was beaten to death last year and we had a closed casket because they said his face was caved in. Brain didn’t return until after the funeral and they cremated it separately and just added it to the urn.
The fact when he used the example that you're watching the infographics show and you're lying in your bed then you end up dying out of nowhere got me. That's mee, I'm doing that at this exact moment.
Here after king Von pic released
4:59 why does he look like Teller from Penn and Teller
The playing dead challenge episode . Finally !
He's a man with emotion with emotion at the end of the day...that's few
