this is exactly one of two options I bought, for my soon to be Sub2000. Looks like it will work. My back up option, is a 45 degree offset mount from Monstrum, that mounts to side with M Lok mounts.
Great choice!
Good idea, was thinking of something similar myself... but now I'll just buy a gen3 and not worry about it.
Enjoyed this content, keep it coming
We will!
Had to tap on the video when I saw someone else with the 45 degree rail in the exact spot I put one on my Sub2k. Glad to know I was on to something!
It's working great for me.
This is awesome 👌
I did this 5 months ago. Is a good alternative for red dot. Used a lighter red dot. I have mechanical sites, red dot, and a laser under barrel. I like the laser best.
Good info video..thanks
Glad it was helpful!
I'll do a sub2k video at some point and you want to compare findings I think it would be good to share findings
Gen 3 is out and besides solving red dot issues you get better trigger better for end and overall better improved gun. Same price.
Understood. A lot of people already own previous generations, so showing options for mounting is always helpful. You'll have to share what you do with your Gen 3. I'd love to see it!
Does it place the optic directly over bore or is it off? Zeroing and holds can get weird if the 45 doesn’t end up placing the optic over the bore.
Yes, The optic is centered over bore.
@@MACSAmericanTactical awesome! Great to know. Thanks!
They just released the Gen 3's it's swivels and folds 😂😂😂. Getting both Gen 2 & 3. Maybe 9mm & 40 S&W I think 10mm & 45 in the works Eben 357 Sig again
😎
That 10mm would be hard to pass up.

I tried using these (not based off your recommendation but because I had the same idea) and these did not work at all for me. If you mount an optic to them it will sit way to close to the rifle and when the rifle is closed it will squish your optic out of the way causing it to lose zero. I attempted it again using a streamlight TLR VIR II and a PVS 14. The zero on that also was lost immediately upon closing and opening the rifle again. The only optics mount that I would recommend is the M*Carbo one because it mounts to the frame and not the plastic handguards. That mount also has a lot of play in it however and your groups will become borderline unusable at around 100 yards
@mrelihill I appreciate the heads up! I plan on doing a range testing video on this in the near future. I'll keep you guys updated.
My iron sites work just fine on my Gen 2. As accurate as any on any pistol I own or have ever owned. I have a re dot on my AR finally and we will see how that go,s. I'm an old fashion guy with old eyes .hard to get used to the dots.
Why bother with a red dot when the firearm is really a medium to close quarter defensive tool. I find the factory sights to do a pretty good job at those ranges. But, it's your choice to have a red dot or not. Whatever your comfortable with.
Re-read that real slowly... "it's your choice to have a red dot or not. Whatever your comfortable with." You've answered the question. I run red dots on pistols which some may argue is a medium to close quarter defensive tool... So why not on a Sub2K?
A red dot IS a close combat optic 😂….
G3 fixed that issue.
For sure, but there's a lot of older sub 2000's out there.
True, but I have a gen 2. This is exactly what I need!
I'm not currently having any issues keeping a decent zero. Granted, the sub-2000 isn't a precision rifle, but C-Zone isn't much of an issue. Super tight groupings just aren't going to happen.
It’s not fixed for 40 cal yet.
Mac, what’s the part #
