    The gamma lt’s are crazy good. Durable, breathable, comfy. I do a lot of bouldering, which ends up being probably the hardest thing you can subject a pair of pants to. Scrambling, bushwacking, lots of abrasion. My pair looks new after three seasons.

    I've used my gamma lt pants for rock climbing in every season all around the country and they've held up great for the past 2 years showing no significant signs of wear and tear.

      can i ask , how wide are they at the thighs ?

    • @bullionsean456
      @bullionsean456 2 года назад

      @@walterwhitelickstoesforfun Not sure how to answer that but I'll try. They aren't too wide and they aren't necessarily tight either. Perfect climbing pants for all kinds of weather with great range of motion.The fabric is very smooth too and they never really get sticky.

    The two holes down on pants is to run cord trough and under the sole of your shoes to secure the pants in inclement weather

      You can also run your boot laces through them.

    For climbing you can look at the Sigma, not cheaper but different material

    I had the LTs in a small and the thigh was way too tight. I am a former soccer player so I have bulkier thighs which definitely contributes. My waist is about a 30-31 for reference and my thighs were screaming. I also used them for rock climbing three times and took a small whip off a climb which led to a 3 inch scratch on the left leg. They’re decently durable but agree with you, for the price point I think it’s better to get Outdoor Research Cirque II.

    TP Stands for Tres Petit, which is French haha.. Is that a Gamma LT Softshell jacket? Is the Gamma LT pant as thick as a material as the jacket? I have a Gamma LT jacket, as well as a pair of Palaside pants, the pants are a little thin as far as I concerned, was hoping for the Gamma LT pants to be a little thicker!

    • @seanmacdonald8476
      @seanmacdonald8476  4 года назад

      Lol! That makes more sense. It's the same material as the jacket. Nice pants, just too pricey.

      Hi, I live in Alaska and I think these are the best pants for summer. I have them in that exact same color, so I was a bit confused here, thinking I might be wearing men's pants, haha. But I'm pretty sure I am not, as I'm a girl with small waist and thick thighs and butt and they fit me perfectly. So yes, i LOVE wearing LT in summer. I'm visiting my home, Czech 🇨🇿 , at the moment and I'm wearing them with a thermal layer now, as it got a bit above zero and they're still nice and warm. I love how stretchy they're, as I struggle sometimes, having an hour glass figure. Hope this helped 😉

    • @seanmacdonald8476
      @seanmacdonald8476  4 года назад

      Hey Bryan, what is your normal inseam? You should consider the xs for the waist and the short length is what I believe to be an accurate 29.5". Sounds like we are pretty silimarly sized

    I've worn Arc for a number of years until I bought into Mountain Equipment, started off with the summer lightweight Comici pants which are light weight, breathable and dries quick, stretchy and importantly, the cut/fit is good for my 30/31inch waist and inside leg. They come with a straight stitched hem so shortening is easy and cheap to do if required.
    I find their winter softshell Ibex pants perfect for the conditions where I live & trek: down to 0 C/32 F, damp and windy. Give enough protection yet breathable and good weight at 445g.
    ME is good value in UK where they're from and in Europe vs Arc and for the fit, weight and usability, I prefer it over Arc. I believe they are sold in US(?) where you are?

    • @seanmacdonald8476
      @seanmacdonald8476  4 года назад

      So I ultimately did not buy any pants because none fit my needs. With that said I was pretty dead set on the fac that the comici would be the one! Unfortunately they are not really sold in the US and it's hard to track them down. I will need to go through the NA distributor to see if there are any in country. I have a hard enough time finding pants that are in the US in my size so I'm not hopeful. I just need a friend in the UK =]

    The marking in the pant XS/TP, I know XS is extra small, but what does the TP stand for?

    • @seanmacdonald8476
      @seanmacdonald8476  4 года назад

      TP is XS in spanish, I just learned that =] The Arcteryx sizing system is fairly straight foward. The only complication is the tall/short versions so XSS would be XS Short and a MT would be Medium Tall.

      Thank you. I have been looking into some pants from Arc’teryx as I have a few of their Jackets that I’m really happy with, one being the gamma LT like the one you chose (and I love it also)! You and I sound like we are sized the same and I haven’t ran across those two letters! Just wanted to make sure I wasn’t missing anything! Thanks again! What other brand of pants did you end up going for?

      @@The1stDomino Hehe I haven't made a decision yet. Still wearing my ill fitting zion stretches for now... which are still amazing pants. I really want to get a pair of Mountain Equipment Comici in hand which I think you would really like too but it doesn't seem easy to find in the US. Also was looking at Mountain Hardware AP. I've ruled out a lot of classics just because of sizing which is why you may not see the usual suspects listed above. There are a pair of gamma rock pants on rocksolid right now that you may want to check out maybe you can fit in the S waist.

    • @The1stDomino
      @The1stDomino 4 года назад +1

      Well lol I love my Prana Stretch Zion too. Those are what I’m up grading form for more weather protection! That’s crazy, same size and taste! I will look into you suggestions tho. On the Arc’teryx side, I’m really liking the gamma MX for winter purposes cause they have the fleeced lined inner and a little more open at the bottom for larger boots. Thanks again for the feed back it’s a big help!

    • @seanmacdonald8476
      @seanmacdonald8476  4 года назад

      Ha! I'm sure there are plenty of things someone "can" use them for although it's unlikely they would. With the LT status of these pants I don't see many folks utilizing them when poor conditions are possible. On the other hand... will I complain about a small feature included that otherwise doesn't compromise the product? No =]
