I mean, you can clearly see the amount of smoke coming out of the vehicle when it fully stopped and then the diver blows out a lot of smoke as well. This officer was really smart getting the driver out of the car to show a "expired tag" which was true but the main offence was the poss of marijuana and also DUI. If telling the driver straight away that could be leading to a pursuit leaving a lot of people in danger including the officers and the driver himself.

Unfortunately due to a small % of people commiting crimes involving firearms, more and more laws become enacted that infringe on the firearms rights......sort of like blaming cars for drunk drivers or spoons for obesity. Depending on your age, you may have noticed the change of how crimes were committed in AU after the firearms were taken from the people....other weapons were used and only the criminals have firearms. Let's not forget world history and remember what happened when the government disarmed the people in a certain European area around 1938....we all know what that was the start of. I would love to see the AU firearms laws change allowing you to keep and bear arms as we do. Until then, you can always visit the US to get some range time. I'm sure if you were to show up at just about any firing range and tell the shooters you are from AU and would like to experience shooting, you would very quickly have offers to fire many different firearms.

K-9 did not exhibit standard alerts, they called the K-9 to cover their asses for the unnecessary and possible, illegal search. So yep, the end does not justify the means. The officer (Cpl. Montana), I have to say, is an excellent situation de-escalator. Gotta give it to him. This would've gone way off the rails in the hands of another officer. It's pathetic that someone would go to jail for possession of Marijuana (wasn't using while operating a motor vehicle). Think about it objectively - these officers are tied up dealing with someone with some weed, no intention to deal, not using, not hurting anyone. The release of these funds can be given back to police officers in the form of salary, education benefits, etc. Police units have reached the point that they have call centers asking for donations. Think about that. Cop told me it takes 3-4 hours of paperwork on a DUI charge compared to minutes for Marijuana. When I was in drug classes for Marijuana both classrooms were filled one with drunks and one with weed [texas]. They have them every week. 1 person = minimum 10,000 charge on the DUIs

The officer (Cpl. Montana), I have to say, is an excellent situation de-escalator. Gotta give it to him. This would've gone way off the rails in the hands of another officer.
It's pathetic that someone would go to jail for possession of Marijuana (wasn't using while operating a motor vehicle). Think about it objectively - these officers are tied up dealing with someone with some weed, no intention to deal, not using, not hurting anyone. The system is eating itself alive in cycles in this situation (financially), and needs to be overhauled. The release of these funds can be given back to police officers in the form of salary, education benefits, etc.
Police units have reached the point that they have call centers asking for donations. Think about that.
Pro Tip: You will get a shitload of donations if you spend your time with violent crimes, community involvement and interaction, and using your resources to deal with situations that actually impact the community. Guy with a handful of weed who isn't using it while operating a motor vehicle is an embarrassing use of public funds. The public will shun you, which sucks because I think you have good intentions. First impressions to the public - only takes once.
The k9 did alert it jumped up to the window, smelled, and then sat down. That is an alert. The k9 office then rewarded the dog for doing its job.
"Weed " is not harmless...Visit an ER where they get many overdoses...

Cop told me it takes 3-4 hours of paperwork on a DUI charge compared to minutes for Marijuana.
When I was in drug classes for Marijuana both classrooms were filled one with drunks and one with weed [texas]. They have them every week.
