That's how all cars should come from the factory. I always wanted to do the rocker panels and fender wells on mine. Rock chips and scratches are inevitable in those areas.
Hey bro quick tip on the threads in the engine bay when painting. To advoid having to clean all the bolts after you take them out. Use the little foam ear plugs. Squish them and set them in the tread holes then paint and remover befor dry with needles nose plyers. 👌 eBay can get bulk earplugs really cheap
Looks kinda dope like putting wrinkle red in the engine bay I think I would was the entire under body sprayed with it as well awesome video as per usual thanks bode 🥰
I always had this thought that all black car with a red bed liner engine bay would look cool with a fully chromed out engine. In my mind in, it would look like a jewelry box
When I restored my 3000GT I did bedliner spray in the wheel well areas. I didn't use this system, I just used some rattle can Rustoleum or something, but same basic thing. I might look into the Raptor kit for the wheel wells for the Eagle Talon I am doing now.
Being that I live in the northeast, I was thinking of raptor lining the hole underside and wheel wells of my civic. Looks easy to apply. The hard part is tear down and prep.
Ear plugs I find to be a great alternative to covering up bolt holes before spraying liner as well, won't have to clean the hell out of the bolts before reinstall and ear plugs are disposable and cheap. Just a helpful tip lol
This is what Kyle should do to his engine bay when he comes back with a much brighter red though this came out kind of orange to me or maybe its the camera either way it came out killer, I really like the look of the Liner.
It's definitely a feature I respect and love to see. Also has its purposes for sure. But my build style I probably wouldn't do unless I was doing track racing or rally.
Durable wrinkle coat paintjob. It's the best. I've done 2 Cara before in raptorliner. Comes out amazing. I want to do my bike and the 2 cars I own now with colored on 1 and just black on the other .

I dunno why but I absolutely love anything with bedliner on it, love the idea of something that looks great but tough as hell. I want to apply the same on the exterior of a project car BUT with a more finer texture output than the usual heavy texture that off roaders use on crazy Jeep builds for example.
Being from upstate ny, I am going to try to do as much bedliner as much as I can. I am building a winter beater k5 now so I don't drive my good one in winter
I'm sort of on the fence about the finish in the engine bay, I don't think I would want it on my car but for what you are doing here it looks nice. You are progressing well with the bodywork though, thanks for sharing
The raptor liner wouldn't have been my choice but I will say the fact that it is tinted red is cool. Once the motor and all the shit is back in the engine bay I bet it will actually look pretty cool.
I'd love to do my entire Hilux Surf in with tinted Rhino Liner. Rhino says that you can mix a base coat without a binder into it but I'm no expert. Just need to drop it off with you, lol.
It looks nice but my only worry is keeping it clean. When you think of bed liner in a truck bed it's always dusty because the texture holds onto grime and because it's a little soft and rubbery stuff sticks into it/stains it that way as well. I would bet it's not as temperature resistant as paint either and might crack or peel after a few years. That said sometimes stuff just works, hopefully you can update us on the build in a few years and see how it held up. Bedliner inside is just a win I think, so much easier maintenance. I would do it to my own car but idk how I would hide all the wiring that went under the carpet.
I’ve been waiting for someone to do this. RUclipsr Tommy fyeah doesn’t do the bays bc he’s color matching to the outside of the gtrs but he does a black raptor lining in the wheel liner area and the rest of the metal underneath the front fender to protect it. If I ever pull the engine out of my truck this is what I want to do.
@BodeVision raptor liner isn't all that durable anyway and whatever they use to make it wrinkle or texture may not like the heat. I wish I could have an engine bay as clean as one you would do with your attention to detail
@@jack_of_all_trades_52 it holds up fine to heat we use in on rally cars all the time for inner arch’s and floors underneath only issue I get is my exhaust tunnel discolours but temp is logged at 350deg Celsius at that section of system.
Hey Adam...Kinda Off Topic Question for ya if you see this...I have some Polyurethane Rear Bumper Flares and I want add some extra structure to them and do some remolding maybe too...What material will bond to Polyurethane?....Fiberglass Milled strands stuff?....or will a BONDO Brand fiberglass repair kit work?....Any advice is Much Appreciated dude!!!!
i have been building a widebody lifted da integra and have been contemplating on using the exact same stuff in the exact same color to paint my body. still not sure. think if i also build a exo cage i would for sure but not sure without it.
I've considered it for my car, but I hate how much dirt always seems to get stuck in bed liner. Living in an area with red clay dirt everywhere, having nooks and crannies for the dirt to get even more stuck in would drive me to distraction!
@@BodeVision my goal would be to make not only the paint super resistant, I would love to make it absord some little hit to help keeping it as much dents as I can. I don't know if this is the best product but I tough that could be a very good option
Just curious did you sand down the engine bay before spraying. I want to do my bed on my truck. And everyone said i have to sand it first to make it rough.
paint adhesion is always affected by whether or not you rough up a surface first. If you dont sand the paint/primer has less surface area to grab onto; therefore its more likely to peel or crack eventually as opposed to properly bonding and becoming one with the surface
If your bed is clean and it has glossy paint on it you’re going to want to dull the surface. Even getting in there with a scotch brite and some elbow grease will do the trick
People who get textured finishes in the engine bay, have 100% faith in their build quality, and ZERO interest in keeping a clean bay with any reasonable use.

What a waste of an empty engine bay. Raptor liner isn't all that durable either, it scratches almost as easy a paint does.. with all your attention to detail what a missed opportunity to have a clean engine bay.
That's how all cars should come from the factory. I always wanted to do the rocker panels and fender wells on mine. Rock chips and scratches are inevitable in those areas.
I don’t know how I feel about the bed liner I prefer the nice glossy finish but like always it looks amazing

Thanks for killing it brother!!!
I never thought of doing something like that to an engine bay, but it's a great idea & it turned out looking great as well!
Not trusted name in the game speaking to the affect of exactly what I had in mind. You're awesome man, thanks
Most definitely would use it. Did my whole Jeep Cherokee before. Great stuff. My 08 Tahoe is next!
I've always wanted to do a full car Nice work
I always used the pray bomb technique for the guide coat, 97 cent can of spray paint and it always worked well!
I coated the inside and out of my dually fenders to protect them from chips etc. Sanded outside than primed and painted them. Worked great.
Ive used that stuff painted my integra and a friends truck its an awesome little kit
Wow, that's great stuff, Adam. I like this texture. Thanks for sharing. Have a great weekend, Dutch regards, Nico.
Super cool result - looks easy to do as well.
Looks like red valve cover crinkle paint! Looks good! 👍🏽

Cigarette filters there on ground there everywhere perfect for threaded holes I use them when painting motor cycles
I've reduced raptor liner about 20% and put it down with a 2.0mm primer gun, results always look good.

I want to do this to my dc5 now kinda.
Enjoying the video, but I have a question about the color. Does this red look that light red / pink / orange / hard to decide haha in real life?
i wonder if you can flatten the tip a bit and get a wider pattern
You can thin the bed liner with Urethane reducer & Urethane activator will kick it.
I’d love to see you put a clear coat on top of that
Damn bro this looks very sharp 👌 bed liner in the engine bay area that s fire 🔥 #bodesqaud #projectredhatch

Great video love your work but noooooooo to bedliner in the engine bay. Too late now though it’s in there forever
Itll be really difficult to clean
that looks awesome! my only question is raptor liner going to hold up over time to the heat cycles an engine bay gets from an exhaust?
Would you think this is less durable then a regular clear coat? Because engine bay paint is not rated to be high temp it’s always just regular paint
@BodeVision raptor liner isn't all that durable anyway and whatever they use to make it wrinkle or texture may not like the heat. I wish I could have an engine bay as clean as one you would do with your attention to detail

superb
I did this to my ek 6 years ago girl ran stop sign hit me and bedliner held up made body stronger

Normally you use 3 or 3.5 oz of base coat to tint it …. That way you have perfect color match with the rest of the car ….
So it mixes well with ppg paint. Was wondering if you had to buy their tinted or not

Can you apply the bedliner in white and paint with normal paint after?
I was wondering the same thing. Once it’s cured I would think you could. Not 100% sure though
It seems like you could but wouldn't it be prone to chip though? I think it might defeat some of the purpose of bedliner being tough.
Looks Amazing! Not a fan of the bed liner finish...
What’s your opinion on the Transtar paint line?
