I am so excited to see this in a cinema. The cast looks amazing. Cate is not only an extremely talented actor who becomes each character she plays, she is also a luminous movie star. She just glows on the screen and I am drawn to her films. Her performance looks astounding in the trailers. 🤩🎬

Learnt a lot about the making of Tar that makes me more convinced that Todd, the leading actresses, the orchestra and the production team deserve proper accreditation. It’s should be ranked among all other landmarks in movie history.
As a german it's so strange to hear that german accent from nina and the others. But also I kinda love it. Makes me feel more confident to speak english on vacations. I always felt so embarrassed, but it's so cute to have an accent 🤓🥰
Yeah she does, even though I would totally love for Michelle to get it and I hate that they're up against each other... Cate just had the more challenging role and she absolutely rocked it
Hoping we get to see it and other scenes shown in the trailer but not in the final film (the scene with an orchestra in a ballroom/palace, Lydia blowing smoke) if/when Tár is added to the Criterion Collection 🙏
This masterpiece deserves best Screenplay, Best Motion Picture and, OF COURSE, Best Actress. Unfortunately, the Academy might not realize how great it is..... PS: I would also throw in Best Director, but I would be thrilled to see Todd win for Best Screenplay. It's such a clever, intriguing screenplay. 🤩
well no, it only questions it, it doesn´t take a specific stand. Its a great scene that makes you reflect on the dilemma artist (identity)/artwork and how they are connected. We see it in the entire film with the main character how she thinks thats the way it should be and lives by that but the movie is an experience, it´s a way to bring up questions and reflect on cancel culture, me too movement (and happening with a lesbian character, to make it more broad and show how it can happen in multiple levels, i think with a male hetero lead it the public would have been more polarized). Yeah, in the Julliard scene it seems like Lydia wins the debate, but it´s just a way to show the characters perspective and way of living, and also how strongly she feels about it. With your thoughts about what the film exposes your showing your inner reflections, thoughts, identity
@@sailorgalaxia963 Oh okay yes, i agree, i thought "exposing hypocrisy " was taking a view point on that subject. I think lydia is doing that but i don´t think the goal of the movie is to just point out this, its just to question all these things
@@cacaktuaaa5695 absolutely! It's up for the viewer to decide who won that debate as it is up to the viewer to interpret the ending and whether or not Lydia deserves to have lost her artistic credibility. It's amazing that they actually managed to create an unbiased, nuanced movie on such a controversial topic. But I also want to add that the director personally thinks Lydia lost that debate with her student :D
Saw it yesterday. Todd Field’s writing is Oscar worthy, and Cate should definitely be nominated for best actress . Hope they both win Oscars. Brilliant movie.

Cate Blanchett unfairly snubbed for TAR. It’s hard to imagine any actor male of female of 2023 could match the excellence of cate. Academy definitely lost its credibility to award performances based on merit only

Well, matching outfits are how the Társ stick together... like tar. 🥁
Best movie of the year. I'm still thinking about it months after I watched it.
Nina Hoss is an underrated Legend.
Seen all of her films with Christian Petzold. Extraordinary performances.
For me, by far the most interesting performance in this film. (A film I did not enjoy, by the way. But Hoss is simply superb.)

I love her accent. So clear, gut pace, and strong
As a english speaker hesitant to speak German, this makes me more confident too :)
Why was Cate and Nina twinning that was so cute 🥺🥺
I heard from Nina, she was the one suggesting it and Cate agreed.
Love the matching jackets !
Vu aujourd'hui pour la 5ème fois.....meilleur film 2023 ,excellent scénario, interprétation remarquable, bravo à toutes et tous

"The Academy" is too dull to understand film art...they always were...
@@muncangel5993 this year they outdid themselves on the "dull" part.
The cast looks perfect and the movie look intriguing
Nina’s performance was the most interesting one in this film. Her eyes and body language were very engaging.
Cate, Nina, Sophie all involt thank you for the incredible film!!!!
Drop that scene/nice short film NOW hahaha
cate blanchett TO FREEDOM !!!!!!!
You can’t start without me!
Anyone know who made the jackets that Cate and Nina are wearing?
I've been wondering the same. It kinda resembles one of Romero Britto's heart patterns, but I could be wrong...
Love and respect Cate Blanchett!
Cate is that "straight" woman we all wish we were.
Yeah, "straight" (~~~)
i love how this films exposes hypocrisy of college students on classical music and cancel culture. Multiple thumbs up

Piet Mondrian.
