I learn so many things whenever I listen to Cate's interviews. She uses so many words that I've rarely heard in casual conversation. On top of that, she often talks about the role of fear in her life and it amazes me that she can be so candid about it. It's slowly inspiring me to take more risks, or bigger risks.
When I watched "Carol", the most powerful moment for me was when the character Carol Aird told they attorneys that she would not live against her own grain and made the vulnerable request that she be allowed to visit with her daughter even if it had to be supervised.
"God, I'm talking a lot. Shut me up." Cate, are you kidding? It's been very interesting hearing your thoughts on different processes in acting and filmmaking and trends, and some of the big social topics of the day.
how could anyone, man or woman, NOT fall in love with Cate Blanchett??? She is the sexiest woman I've seen in a ages, and in this movie she doesn't hold back anything.
Very engaging & friendly Actress. Met her in New York, down to earth with her Fans. It was 12:30 in the Morning when she came out after The Present on Broadway & signed Autographs. I'll always remember it was 30 degrees. I'll always pay to see her.
What an extraordinarily candid intelligent interview! Cate is without question the most articulate actor alive. What I find fascinating about her beauty, which is boundless in it's immensity, is that she grows more beautiful as she ages. This fact speaks to how one sees and defines beauty. Her radiant intellect continues to evolve in ways that are so deeply sensitive. I had the great fortune to see her live in "Street Car Named Desire," and seeing her on stage gives one insight into what is most important to her. Story telling with a live audience is what thrills her. She manages to bring her stage sensibility to the screen in the way she collaborates with all of the players in film making. She is for me the most interesting actor living today.
this woman is exquisitely talented in so many ways... the more she speaks the more I admire her. She's patently committed to acting and making life through movies
You know my drama techer told me the other day a true artist is a person who doesn't know wht he'll do tomorrow and where they day will lead. I don't think I've ever heard of someone who has more artistic spirit than Cate. It was a fantastic interview thank you so much for making it!
Fantastic interview! Thank you. It was insightful, done in a calm atmosphere and respectful in regard to the actress and her work, but still funny and very interesting on many different levels. That's how you do a balanced interview. What a charming and sophisticated woman Cate Blanchett is. I could listen to her for hours.
What a brilliant, intelligent, fascinating human being, Kate is. A most brilliant actress too. The only one I find of the same stature as Bette Davis. So unforgettable as a one of a kind, Star. As an actress, there is no one better today, as a human being, wish there were more like her, this world would be a much better place, I must say!
Wonderful person, so much to learn from her. I love when she said something like "the pride preceeds the fall", the idiot down the cliff. Good job David. Your way of talking to them feel natural, maybe not the perfect academy diction but that's nothing, it's you. The mood is very nice. Thanks for all that.
The interviewer is excellent. I've watched a couple of these interviews and the exchanges are really intelligent, warm and natural. Very enjoyable viewing.
She is wickedly funny and absurdly intelligent. What I wouldn't give to be able to sneak a peak inside her mind - it must be an absolutely fascinating place.
Wow it’s so beautiful to her come alive here, her personality and mind shining through from behind her eyes and in the space between her cheekbones. What a light 💡
btw I think Cate is a magnificent actress one of my favourites The Aviator and Blue Jasmine two my favourite performances, another great one was Veronica Geurin
This MADE my day. David-your interviews are incredible. As an actress I watch these as part of my daily study-so thank you, keep up the fantastic work!!!!!
savedfaves she is worth 90M according to other websites it kinda differs according to different sites, I think the reason why actress don’t make as much money as actors is because the movies where the big money is at are action/superhero movies, which usually has male leads, just a theory not sure.
Incredible but true. A patriarchal world. The difference must be in the brain not in virile organ. Cate with a Meryl Streep and so many others women not only on the artistic field but also human that have long been worth what they weigh, but in DIAMONDS!!
The interview itself contains quite profound conversations all the way through but from time to time, the interviewer sounds a bit judgemental and pushy in a way. Cate is brilliantly patient with the situation and seems really honest and down to earth.
She should have had her third oscar for Carol.Being nominated wasn't enough ,but I guess for the Academy ,they were reluctant to give her another so soon after winning for 💙 Jasmine in 2014
Love the idea of the interview and I enjoy Cate talking like this, however I'm not a fan of the guy she's talking to. There's just something about his transitions, it's not very smooth.
I find it very enjoyable. And apparently Cate enjoyed it as well. It's very refreshing to be asked a question based on an answer you just gave. It's not only smarter, but you feel like the interviewer is actually paying attention to what you're saying.
If Carol has not met Therese that day. She might have just took her life along the way. The things she undergone and the stress she's under and that her only friend she can share her worries with is also one of the things that are stressing because of her husband's jealousy. Her inner conflicts on following what the norm is and wanting to spend her life with her child or to be herself and become happy and accept who she really is is a huge burden for a person. 12:49
What's up with the audio seriously, I mean this is called the Oral History of Hollywood right? It's not in all the videos but it's been a consistent issue with DP/30 which I really don't understand why it persists.
I feel like I'm listening to what should be our President of the US..and all the world. Her voice is commanding and sultry! She's the real deal guys! This lady is simply delicious! So charming and intelligent to say the least! Oh my yummy!! Nom nom nom..her us and is a very lucky man!
+Philip Moore I was afraid to watch this but I don't know much more about the plot than what I could ascertain from the trailer. No spoilers in my opinion but go ahead at your own risk:)
Cate's voice makes my knees weak.
Yes indeed! Her voice and countenance is like an ear and sight -gasm for me ;)
What an amazing woman. I could listen to her talking for hours. CAN'T WAIT FOR CAROL my god

I will admit I do enjoy her extensive vocabulary. It entices me to grow my own vocabulary 😅

Thank God there are still normal, intelligent people out there, to interview a great ARTIST like she is !
I am completely mesmerized by Cate Blanchett.
Fantastic interview. Also, Cate has the most extraordinary eyes.
The voice of an angel.
It's at the very end 28:18 where she says you're very welcome... i don't know why but i have it on repeat
Her adorable voice there 😭
I hope she soon direct a film.... I think she would be a great director on stage and on screen... she's so intelligent and articulate
I love her. Amazing. I hope she wins the Oscar.
The interviewer is excellent. I've watched a couple of these interviews and the exchanges are really intelligent, warm and natural. Very enjoyable viewing.
Her eyes and her voice at 2:18 "You're very welcome"... so lovely and mesmerizing...

Such sultry looks and a great actress.
Very Sultry indeed! This beauty here oozes divinity! Very sexy!
tita adorno She was an absolute goddess in the Lord of The Rings.
David Cook which lord of the rings was she on?
tita adorno The 2nd one, The Two Towers.
tita adorno no wait.........she's in all 3 of them (it's been a while, lol).
Wow it’s so beautiful to her come alive here, her personality and mind shining through from behind her eyes and in the space between her cheekbones. What a light 💡

Cate Blanchett is Ethereal Being and Mind Blowing Actress.
Excellent interview. Very well done
Cate Blanchett- the best.❤
Astonishing actress and woman
I love her!
"What's that little felow doing? Hi!"
Kate is worth $45M (according to some website). If she was a man she'd be worth well over $100M by now.
savedfaves she is worth 90M according to other websites it kinda differs according to different sites, I think the reason why actress don’t make as much money as actors is because the movies where the big money is at are action/superhero movies, which usually has male leads, just a theory not sure.

Damn, she's quite intelligent!
"quite" ? .. come on !
Cate Blanchett
The interview itself contains quite profound conversations all the way through but from time to time, the interviewer sounds a bit judgemental and pushy in a way. Cate is brilliantly patient with the situation and seems really honest and down to earth.
I concur, I love how she speaks up if she disagrees, when talking to anyone.
Very down to earth actress, I expected her to be stuck up for some reason!
25: 43 "The silence depths of her"
25:46 - 25:53 "The quiet collapse"
Heartbreaking…
stunning beautiful inteligent
just saw it ! im not sure what to think about this film? but Cate always on top form
She should have had her third oscar for Carol.Being nominated wasn't enough ,but I guess for the Academy ,they were reluctant to give her another
so soon after winning for 💙 Jasmine in 2014
The way she got confused about the camera just made me laugh
Love the idea of the interview and I enjoy Cate talking like this, however I'm not a fan of the guy she's talking to. There's just something about his transitions, it's not very smooth.
+isabellamaria914 Yes. It's called having a conversation, not a prearranged set of questions. That's what I do. Not to everyone's taste.
I find it very enjoyable. And apparently Cate enjoyed it as well. It's very refreshing to be asked a question based on an answer you just gave. It's not only smarter, but you feel like the interviewer is actually paying attention to what you're saying.
+DP/30: The Oral History Of Hollywood I'm not saying that "having a conversation" is bad. I'm just saying I thought each transition seemed awkward.
+isabellamaria914 Really? Could you point out a specific example?
+isabellamaria914 Apologies if this isn't a TMZ interview with set questions about brand she's wearing, whether she did pranks on her co-stars etc;
I NEED CATE BLANCHETT AS HAMLET
Hi to anyone who crosses their road with mine while watching Cate's interviews on loop😌💌
If Carol has not met Therese that day. She might have just took her life along the way. The things she undergone and the stress she's under and that her only friend she can share her worries with is also one of the things that are stressing because of her husband's jealousy. She is what Joni Mitchell meant when she wrote the line..... I could drink a case of you.......
Wow, so freaking cool.

It’s nice to be on top. Where do you go next?

+Philip Moore I was afraid to watch this but I don't know much more about the plot than what I could ascertain from the trailer. No spoilers in my opinion but go ahead at your own risk:)
